Fantastic experience: Certified Driving School was a great place to take driver ed. They taught very well and I learned so much! Randy is definitely such a great teacher and I loved having him as my teacher!

Fantastic experience: My daughter did her driver's ed here and took her driving test here as well. I love that they come to your house for the scheduled drives. She had Jim and Tim as her instructors and they couldn't be more patient and kind. Bryan did her driving test and he too was very patient and reassuring. Great experience for kids learning to drive and for us parents who are entrusting our children to them. Highly recommend. Thank you.

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience with Tim, a driving instructor. He is very kind and is a good teacher. On my last drive he even gave me a gift card and a drink. He prepared me very well for the drivers test and went through the details before taking it. It is apparent that he cares very much about his students. Thank you!

Negative experience: They just want your money. I had to unteach my son a lot of material they were pushing. He was not prepared at all. Staff very nice

Fantastic experience: Highly recommend for anyone getting their license and needing help to learn. The lessons are very educational and teach you things necessary to be a good defensive driver. Randy is a great instructor and makes class entertaining and gauges the attention of students extremely well with real life stories and examples to help us when we encounter those situations ourselves. The lessons combined with the assistance of the instructors during drives has helped me gain the confidence I needed to get out there and learn. Very grateful for this resource.

Randy, as much as others want to say, is an amazing teacher who uses his real-world examples to show how life is precious and driving is a dangerous but good skill to have. 10/10, would definitely recommend.

Fantastic experience: Great place to learn! Randy helps makes learning about driving easy and fun with the way he teaches. He includes everyone and makes sure to include everything important for driving with adding extra tips and tricks too. So glad I chose to take this class because it really makes me feel like I know all the information essential to feeling and staying safe on the road. 10/10 I would recommend taking this class!

Negative experience: The instructor Randy is a terrible teacher. He constantly talks about his dead wife. He has lied to the children multiple times, given his medical opinion to the children. Find another school.

Fantastic experience: I must say, I understand there was 2 closer driving schools to me, and by far, hands down, every parent I spoke to with teenagers had either recommended from personal experience or was going to certified in Highland or Crown Point. Both locations are easy to find and get to if need be. Professionalism from staff, courteous if need to reschedule a drive, testing was available if summer conflicts came up, I had no complaints by any means. Andrea was amazing, she runs both sites, Morgan in CP was the best. Instructors, Jerry and Randy, bar none, best. Every time they came to my house for my kids drives, 100% on time and have no issues with educating and critiquing. If I had to do it again, I would choose certified driving school.

Fantastic experience: I would recommend certified driver to anyone who is getting their license. They are great to work with and very accommodating!!! My daughter had her drive test this morning and we showed up at 7:45am and found out that she was actually scheduled to take her test the next day . The gentleman said don’t worry I’ll test her today since you are already here. That was so nice of him to squeeze her in for her test . She passed!!!!!! Thank you for teaching my daughter how to drive. We will be seeing you in two years for my son !

Fantastic experience: Anyone who has been through a driving school program understands the value of learning the rules, signs, and driving fundamentals - it's critical to ensuring new driver's safety and success. Certified is a very busy provider as another school in the area recently closed; however, they are responsive and available via email or phone. The operators were kind and would return calls in a timely manner. If they have to call you back to schedule, you should hear from them in 1-2 days. You have to be patient in this process but it's very much worth the time and investment. The folks we worked with were very professional and kind, and it was definitely an excellent program for our new driver. Will definitely use for future new driver, and strongly recommend!

Negative experience: The worst customer relations I've ever experienced. Arrogance is an understatement. I believe they need some competition locally.

Negative experience: I am very disappointed with their driving practice schedules. The school is taking students as much as they can but they don't have enough practice driving instructors for the students to practice driving. They will put you on their list and who knows when they gonna call you. I think the administration is doing this process in purpose so parents will just give up and pocket all the money without sweat. Very bad!

Fantastic experience: I have used certified driving school 3 times so far, and every time I have had to interact with the office they have always been amazing. Not only to me but everyone else in the office or on the phone. There is a lot to remember and have when getting your teenager their license and they have always been thorough explaining what I needed to have and do. Great job!!! I will be back again.

Negative experience: This was a waste of money. If your child doesn't live in Crown Point. They don't schedule any drives until every one in Crown Point has been satisfied. They also don't tell you that the classroom training doesn't start when your child starts the program. Consequently your child could start In the middle of class with very little continuity. Again, if you don't live in Crown Point, expect the training to last at least a year

Fantastic experience: All I am saying is ask for jim. He's very good with people thank you certified driving school also if you or some one you know is a beginner driver they will help you alot as I am a beginner for driving and I like this school for driving PS. JIM THANK YOU VERY MUCH

Fantastic experience: Certified Driving School is amazing. During the process of helping my daughter obtain her learners permit, and many trips to the BMV (each time sent off with different information), I was frustrated and desperate for help. I googled driving schools, and this was the closest one to me, so that’s where I went. I’m so very thankful I did, because the staff was able to go through the list of needed items, as well as provide me with the little details that the BMV doesn’t state in their list. My daughter wasn’t even enrolled here, yet they took the time to help me. I highly recommend this school. The staff is very friendly, helpful, and excellent with children.

Fantastic experience: I’ve had a rather difficult time with the BMV’s, and driving in general. My dad told me about this place. I not only got my license from here, but the anxiety I developed at the thought of driving went away too. The instructors are very patient, and know what they are doing! Thank you all for making my experience great :)

Negative experience: I am very disappointed in this school. The online class were fine but since we have started the drives it is a nightmare! My son is in sports all year. So he can only drive on Sunday's. Most of the time they tell me they are full or don't have a driver they won't schedule more than a week out. This is suppose to be convenient and it's not, for the amount of money I have spent I would not recommend this place to anyone!!

Fantastic experience: We have had 2 kids go through the driving portion of this driving school and have been very pleased with both. They both learned quality skills and never had a problem with any of the instructors. My favorite part is how easy it is to have them pick the student up at their home. Very convenient. Every instructor was safe and helpful. Both of my kids passed their driving tests the first time. I have recommended this place to many friends and will be back with another student soon. Thank you.

Negative experience: Alright so the online classes were just fine. I've heard from many different people that the in-person classes don't actually teach you anything except that you basically shouldn't drive unless you want to kill someone, or random spiels about God that have nothing to do with driving. The drives are some of the most anxiety-inducing experiences I've ever had. The first driver I had grabbed my hand trying to tell me how to turn (I was never told his name, however he's a physics teacher in Hobart). He didn't even keep his mask on during the drive despite it being during May, and straight up said "I think doing that would fail you on the driver's test" instead of telling me how to correct it. The second driver was actually extremely kind and was able to explain how to change lanes and stop properly in a calm manner (his name is Steven, I'd want to drive with him again just because of how collected he was). The third and final driver I drove with (named Marty) made me feel extremely uncomfortable and anxious. He slammed on the break in the middle of an intersection and yelled at me, saying "I told you to take a right here, can you not listen?" despite him having said nothing. He slammed on the horn for the poor person to get out of their home after me, and was extremely rude to them while they parallel parked. Overall it's some of the worst teaching I've ever been through, and I don't want to complete my drives with them due to how low the quality of teachers seems to be (the only exceptions to this would be the aforementioned Steven as well as Amanda, who I've heard about from multiple people all in a positive matter).

Negative experience: The online course is thorough and is pretty much repetition that is good to understand and know. The problem that ive seen and experienced is the scheduled driving. Ive been told to cancel twice right as the instructor is supposed to come at the last minute. Ive called off work for these drives and when they call you, they're rude and you dont have any room to pick times that work for you. So if you dont show up or cancel then you get fined, but if they cancel, or simply dont show up, then there's nothing they do. So its a gamble with the scheduled driving as most of the time they call you and say they're late or they don't show up at all.
