Cherokee Riders: Reviews
Negative experience: Terrible experience!!Unfriendly, no courtesy towards people. They have a sign in their hall, "write a review at like I care.com" waste of money on a business that don't value your patronage.
Negative experience: Never find what I’m looking for!
Fantastic experience: Great, fact filled, course and excellent instruction.
Fantastic experience: Good place for drivers test, took my wife here.
Fantastic experience: The first test i failed and i was slightly discouraged, the 2nd test i passed. The woman who helped me was extremely nice, professional, and was very encouraging. The faults i did make she gave me pointers for in a very nice way, and congratulated me on the improvements i did make. If there was a way to rate them more than 5 stars i would, very good place for a drive test!!
Negative experience: DON’T DO BUSINESS WITH CHEROKEE RIDERS! We paid $600 for a gift certificate for driving lessons for my grandson. We were unable to get him into lessons and kept getting “waitlist” “no openings”. Now it’s “Your gift certificate is expired and your money is forfeited.”
Fantastic experience: When I took the class I had never ridden a motorcycle nor had I operated anything with a hand clutch. After taking this class, I had flown down to anchorage and picked up a bike and rode it home. Slow going at first but due to the skills and confidence that I was instilled with in this class, I knew I could do it. I recommend this class to any and all beginners.
Fantastic experience: Absolutely great service! Recommending to as many people possible.
Fantastic experience: Very friendly
Positive experience: We have enjoyed taking drivers test here. All my boys past and he was very helpful. Thank u
Fantastic experience: Quality instructions good rider class.
Fantastic experience: Thomas is a very good teacher and one of the best motorcycle riders i have ever seen. If you want to learn how to drive or ride he's your man.
Fantastic experience: Great instructor ! I was very nervous going into my test as everyone taking a drivers test is, the instructor spoke calmly and explained the wrongs even during the test. I learned while I was testing. Totally recommend, so happy !
Negative experience: Old man with a beard started getting frustrated while I was driving and it made me really nervous which effected my driving. I paid 50 extra dollars to rent their vehicle for the test just to fail it. After the test I felt insulted when the man told my friend my life was made based off of where I told him i was from when he asked, because personally it has been an awful experience. I hadn't drove for 3 years, dont treat me like im an idiot
Fantastic experience: The instructor was awesome he made my son feel at ease when he seen he was nervous I highly recommended him and the school to anybody that wants the child to have a great time learning to drive
Negative experience: The main instructor (and owner?) is a borderline senile old man who is extremely rude and very easily aggravated. I'd go with a different driving school unless there were no other choices.
Negative experience: I was headed back to work in the fast lane doing about 55 lots of snow on the road and people driving slow. Noticed a student driver car in front of me going quite a bit under the speed limit in the fast lane barely passing the people in the slow lane. So he sees me get about 3 seconds off his rear end(legally). Thought about honking but decided could be a student driver even though he shouldn’t be in the fast lane if that’s the case so I’m polite and just keep back a little hoping he will move. Well he does almost instantly at the first opportunity so I thought awesome the guys. Wing polite what a considerate driver. And as I pass I look over to see one oversized (for the little Chevy sonic) older man who appears to be the instructor with no one else in the car, flipping me off as I drive by. Mind you I was 100% legal and considerate with my actions just trying to ride the road within the laws I am aloud. He’s obviously in a hurry as well if he’s in the fast lane but instead of creating a good example for drivers and promoting good road habits like a drivers Ed class should. They decided to do something that could instill road rage amongst other things promoting terrible road practices. If this is how they instructors and possibly what loooked like the owner drive on the roads IN CONPANY VEHICLES then I can only imagine what they are teaching our kids and fellow people on the road that need help. I strongly recommend you finding another company if you need help driving unless you want your child stabbing someone or getting stabbed in the joans parking lot from road rage because they do as they are taught by the people you expect them to trust. Side note. Dude should really seek a therapist if he’s that mad driving without a student present. I’d hate to see how he is treating the students if people wanting to drive by the law piss him off.
Negative experience: If I could give this place zero stars I would! They are a scam especially if you don’t have your own vehicle. If you can’t pass the parallel parking portion which is the first thing they take you to do then you automatically fail. They do not take you through the rest of the test so you can learn what you need to work on. It seems they only care about taking people’s hard earned money. If you’re looking to take the test I would highly suggest going through the DMV. These guys are a scam, a joke and a waste of money.
Fantastic experience: I was so nervous, and then he made me laugh and smile and driving in the car wasn't stressful at all. I was very grateful!
Negative experience: Took the road test and failed it for a few petty things. They have no incentive to pass you since you pay $60 (or $100 with their car) each time you take a test with them. You would think they would charge less for subsequent tests but they don't so we will use another agency next time.
Fantastic experience: My daughter took driver's education courses from both schools in Fairbanks. She much preferred the instruction which she received from Thomas. She felt that she was more relaxed, learned much more, and was much more proficient after her sessions with Thomas. My husband and son took the motorcycle course together and enjoyed it. I would highly recommend Cherokee Riders for driver's education AND motorcycle training. You will not be disappointed.
Positive experience: It would be great to have online registration option for convenience or to be able to send the paperwork via email to be filled out to enroll. Thanks for considering this feedback.
