Fantastic experience: I turned 16 about a month ago and just went in to turn my permit into a provisional license, I was nervous at first but everyone there was so nice. The guy at the desk, Josh my instructor was just amazing, even the people that were cleaning there were nice. I could tell at first Josh was perfect for his job, we ran through the practice first and he advised me with ease and experience. Before the test he made everything clear that he was docking me on and what it was going to look likeHighly recommended, great experience.

Fantastic experience: Josh helped me acquire my license by being my driving instructor. NIT offered to practice before the test, which assisted me greatly. I had a high level of anxiety before I showed up and the second I talked with Josh, I felt completely fine.

Fantastic experience: My son took his road test at NIT and the instructor, Josh, was fantastic. He made my kid feel at ease immediately, and took the time to explain what was expected (what would result in losing points/failing and what wouldn't) before the test, which helped a lot with the "testing nerves." It costs a little more, but it was a much better experience than when my older son took his test at the DMV. Well worth the extra money.

Fantastic experience: My daughter just turned 16 and we went to sign her up for her road test to turn her permit into a provisional license. The wait at the DMV for it was INSANE! The wait at NIT, however, was like a week! Josh was awesome with my daughter. She was nervous, but he had a very relaxed personality that put her at ease. Rikki at the front desk is so sweet and helpful! Make sure to practice your parallel parking before the test, follow the rules, and you're good to go! You can even practice your parallel parking in their lot with the section of cones they have set up. 10/10 would recommend! She got her provisional license the very next day!

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience doing my road test at NIT! Josh was an excellent instructor. Helped me a lot with the do’s and don’ts on the road which is very helpful as it’s my first time driving. He gave a lot of tips too before and after the test. I would recommend this place for anybody doing their road test.

Fantastic experience: Today I finished my studies at NIT. These six weeks were really useful for me. There were so many great instructors. Thank you to Chris, Sierra, Larry, and Joe, who gave me a lot of good advice. Special thanks to Randy, who was my instructor for almost all the driving time. He’s funny — doesn’t he look a bit like Jack Nicholson? He was always kind to me and to the other students, and he shared a lot of knowledge about truck driving. Negative experience: Is it part of your training to teach new drivers to speed 10 mph over the limit only to slam on the brakes and go 15 mph under the limit when the road narrows into one lane? Because if so, that’s not training that’s a hazard. I just watched someone nearly get rear-ended because of this exact behavior by one of your trucks. And the worst part? This isn’t the first time. It’s become a pattern with your trucks. The same erratic, inconsistent driving speeding up, slamming the brakes, creating long lines of frustrated drivers stuck behind them. I get that these are new drivers learning the ropes, and I fully support proper training. But crawling along at 15 under the limit while traffic piles up 30+ cars deep behind you isn’t just frustrating it’s dangerous. That kind of erratic driving leads to road rage, risky passing, and unsafe conditions for everyone around them. If your training program doesn’t include real-world traffic etiquette, then you’re setting these drivers up to fail and putting innocent people at risk. Slowing down before a lane merges and letting vehicles pass before crawling at training speed isn’t just courteous it’s common sense and could save lives. You want to run a real driving school? Then teach your students how to drive like they’re sharing the road with actual humans not cones in a closed course. If safety is your top priority, it’s time to reflect that in the training. Real-world driving demands consistency, awareness, and respect for the flow of traffic. Please do better. Lives depend on it.

Fantastic experience: Amazing place to go for a road exam. Even though I came in on the wrong day Paul helped me be able to take it that very day. Very patient and helpful and explained everything I could have done better in full detail. 10/10

Fantastic experience: My teen had a road test on Friday with Josh. Josh took the time to explain ahead of time what had gone wrong in a testing situation before us and also gave some last minute parallel parking advice. After the test, he very thoroughly explained that although a passing score was received, what errors were made. We had never met Josh before but he made us feel very comfortable. I can’t say enough great things about Josh and NIT.

Fantastic experience: I took the 4 week CDL program. Our technical center is partnered with NIT. Our instructor was Josh Robinson. CDL training involves a lot of information if you have no background in the field. 4 weeks is pretty short with no background experience. Josh helped elongate the skills practice portion for the 4 week program which is very appropriate for those with limited to no experience. He extended a lot of grace. He communicates well with his experience and emphasizes details that necessitates emphasis. He was supportive throughout the training, listened and stayed positive through the struggle of our learning process. The staff have a standard of integrity and support that does not go unnoticed for students taking the programs. Learning processes vary and are not always easy but NIT does a good job supporting their students. I also appreciated the DOT traveling nurse Angel who was very informative, supportive and explained what a great opportunity the program was for those needing skills building to create opportunities for themselves. I would recommend for anyone ready to set themselves towards a future with more opportunities with tools for success. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Fantastic experience: I took the 4 week Class A CDL course. This is a well designed and thought out program. My initial thoughts was 4 weeks seems quite lengthy. Believe me it goes by very fast. Once you get out of the classroom portion you are on the road every single day. And are learning new skills almost daily as well. Huge shout out goes to my instructor Sierra. She is very skilled and knowledgeable. Her communication was outstanding! She made sure to explain everything and give individual students specific instructions on what they were struggling with. Highly recommend this course and this instructor

Fantastic experience: My daughter took the 1/2 hour practice and the road test with Josh. He was a great teacher, professional, and even worked through his lunch to accommodate for a scheduling snafu that was not his fault. It's refreshing to meet people who are enthusiastic about teaching and doing their job well! My daughter left feeling confident and ready to roll.

What an experience getting my CDL at Northern Industrial Training. If you’re looking for a place that truly makes you appreciate the value of patience, perseverance, and deep breathing exercises, look no further! The instructors are incredibly knowledgeable—when they choose to share that knowledge. The training process is rigorous, which is fantastic if you enjoy learning through trial and error with minimal hand-holding. Who needs clear, concise instruction when you can figure things out the hard way, right? Builds character! The equipment? Oh, it’s definitely there! Some of it even works, which just adds to the excitement. Nothing like a little unpredictability to keep you on your toes! And scheduling? Well, let’s just say flexibility is key. You’ll get plenty of time to practice patience while waiting for things to fall into place. In the end, I did get my CDL, and that’s what matters. Would I do it again? She walked me through everything step by step. She always offered more help than expected. She has a very uplifting and supportive personality. She’s encouraged me through every step along the way. Fantastic experience: Nothing but great reviews for nit from me! I did my drivers test. My exam teacher was Joshua (not sure the last name), he was Very professional, understanding and an all-round blessing. I couldn’t sleep the night before cause I was so nervous but he talked to me, helped me feel more comfortable, and less like I was being tested. People like him are great people and if him alone made such an impact on me I know the whole establishment at nit are reliable and good souls

Fantastic experience: I attended the pro truck six week course during September to October. My experience with Northern industrial Training and my instructor Sierra was very professional. She was patient, understanding, and communicated properly our struggles and how to correct them while driving, backing, shifting, or pre-trip. I really appreciated the response time from the people in the office. They were definitely on top of it. I recommend taking the six week course because it felt like just enough time to get everything down.

Fantastic experience: I had my daughter go through NIT for driving school. Every staff member I spoke with was professional and so helpful. I had a bunch of questions and they took the time to answer all of them. The classes and drive times were great, and my daughter learned a lot. She’s a more confident driver now, and I think she has a better understanding of awareness and safety. I’m so grateful! The driving instructor she worked with was Josh and he was very friendly, knowledgeable, and helped calm my daughter’s nerves. She was able to take her road test for her provisional with the instructor the last day of class, which was great for her since she already knew him and felt more comfortable. Thank you!

Negative experience: I took the pro truck course. I was not expecting to be tossed around with so many instructor's, or a in training instructor. I experienced very little hands on time with an instructor as he spent a lot of time in the office? For the most part it was me and my team on our own. When I did bring up issues I was quickly assured that I was wrong. I attended class daily and came with a winning attitude everyday. Although It was hard to maintain through being yelled at or belittled either directly or seeing it happen to teammates. Being a female could pose problems, as some instructors there are very shallow. And yes I brought it to more than 1 person's attention both in the office and out on the range

Fantastic experience: My names Devon Carter. I attended NIT Palmer for four days. My instructor Jake was amazing. I would recommend this school to anyone desiring to learn how to drive trucks requiring a CDL. Jake was extremely patient with me. I came into my training to get my class B automatic CDL and I successfully left with a class B. Jake saw potential in me that I didn't see in myself and pushed and challenged me to improve. He was constantly teaching me, while also giving me the opportunity to figure things out for myself. I came to this school looking to get my class B and Jake in four days had me not far off from being able to pass a road test for a class A manual. I absolutely loved my experience and would 100% go back to learn more if the opportunity arose. Thank you for the opportunity and the experience.

Positive experience: I attended heavy equipment operator for 6 weeks. Facilities was top notch. Facility is very helpful. Teachers are very helpful and are easy to approach. Safe and healthy learning environment. Definitely would recommend

Jake was impressive and I looked up to him, and Teddy was a very knowledgeable instructor. 1000 ways to skin a cat Teddy While in the classroom, Chris and Paul prepped us and encouraged us. They were so personable and easy to get along with. It was a very great experience and I would recommend this school 1000 times over.

Fantastic experience: I recently posted a comment about an experience I had with this company and would like to follow up. I had a bad experience and after reading my comment previous to this one, NIT decided to take it seriously and changed the way things are done within certain areas of their program. The program director called me and apologized for the problem and explained in detail the efforts made to solve it. Full circle communication from customer to company and back again is an important aspect of doing business and I am here to say that I appreciate the efforts made on the part of NIT. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: CET COURSE. Todd, Mike and newly added to the team Jake are very professional, stern and informative. The team offers advice and positive reassurance, while correcting your on your mistakes (but, not in a way it would ruin your confidence). These three are very eager to lead you into a new career path, and wanting to pass down their many years of experience and knowledge. I will miss working and learning with the team outside. As for my Classroom instructor Chris he is very informative, funny and knowledgeable. Seems as if he knows a bit of something about everything in the field. He is lenient, but encourages your to push for your certification. It’s almost as if he does the work for us! These 6 weeks with the team has really flown by, and am grateful that I was chosen to be in the CET course. Now it definitely wasn’t EASY, there is a lot of learn in a short amount of time. But, I believe the teachers wouldn’t put students through something you couldn’t handle. If you want your CERT .. or whatever you are going for, you are going to have to want it. NIT will not hand it to you. Good job, NIT.

Fantastic experience: I took the structural welding and advanced welding courses. I brought no experience in welding with me. In the beginning, the instructors had much patience getting my skill level proficient. Learning hands on is 85% of the course, which is great for someone like me. Jason and Mark, my instructors, are amazing. They were a well off knowledge both oftextbook and real world experiences. Because of NIT, I am a competent, safe, and knowledgeable welder. I plan on returning to MIT in the future to take their pipe welding course.

Fantastic experience: I studied in the Structural Welding Program. The education was top notch in presentations, class work, and in shop training. The information was enlightening being from both the books as well as the instructors personal work experiences. The instructors worked hard to tailor the courses to the students varying levels of experience keeping the classes challenging and rewarding. Jason LeNoir was exceptionally helpful and I felt he went above and beyond to impart his vast knowledge of the welding industry to his students. Fantastic experience: I recently graduated from the Northern Industrial Training CDL Program. While I was training there I was able to train with most of the instructors, such as Molly, Sierra, Gerry, and Randy. They made training fun to learn, created a relax environment, encouraged safety, and everyone of them possessed a unique set of commercial driving skills. I would highly recommend the CDL Program!!!

Negative experience: I was told I was going to experience a six week course and then when I took the course it was less than four weeks with two of them on less than two days because the holidays. none of that was communicated until day two at the course with less than 95% chance of regaining my investment. I was also told I would be tested on the truck I was trained on. Not only was I never once tested on a truck or trailer I was trained on but there were multiple malfunctions multiple near misses the driver almost drove off the road with us by an ants butthair. The Course And or track was never groomed during the winter months and was icy and slick as heck despite traction control everything was just pushing on ice and grit. Nothing about this course was realistic and the vehicles were poorly maintained and way out of maintenance control. Again I was continually reaffirm that I would be trained tested on the vehicle that I was trained on and never once was I trained or tested on the vehicle I was supposed to be trained or tested on because it continually broke down and I was subjected to switching out to vehicles that I never even once had contact with before my testing

Negative experience: I paid 700.oo for a half day refresher and cdl test. The trainer was late, then forgot to do the outside light check, for the pre trip, rushed me through so fast I didn't get to get out on the road, as to make the examiners 10:00 am appointment. During the examination I was failed for not expressing *broken missing or cracked on every piece of steel*. Then he repeatedly went over the same parts I had already touched. Took offense and got loud and angry when I asked him to point out what I had done wrong so I could correct it. I may have well thrown my money out the window. Then I call to complain and no one returns my call.

Negative experience: NIT will screw you over in a heartbeat if given the chance. I missed 3 days of class because i came down with the alaskan crud. Then i was involved in a car accident during the last week of the class i was taking and they kicked me out of the class without even trying to work with me. So if your a veteran using your GI bill to pay for classes then DO NOT go to NIT thanks to those asshats i am now 14,000 dollars in debt because I have to pay the VA back.

Negative experience: Programs are over priced for the level of knowledge instructors have. Took a half day refresher course and was corrected on items that they were wrong on. Instructors had no clue on the types of equipment their own facility provided for use. That being said, when it was test time, I assumed all instructors were on same page and was misinformed on many items but I went with the info anyways. Turned out majority of it was wrong. To say the least I wasted $700 and will never use NIT for anything ever again. Office staff told me they know nothing about what goes on in their field training and left it at that. Poor service and extremely disappointing staff. Talked to other attendees of NIT and they had similar situations occur. DO NOT USE NIT

Fantastic experience: Attended the NIT Ultimate Welder program in palmer, AK. I had some basic welding experience from my dad, but NIT really took my skills to another level. Professional instruction, great facility, and a good curriculum. Classroom stuff in the morning, and my own welding booth to practice the rest of the day. I spent the first two months finishing my stick and flux core and mig exams, then spent the last two months working tig open root and aluminum. If you work hard and get through your exams, it gives you time to explore more options. super fun place to train and work. Cheers boys!! weld on!!!
