Top Gun Motorcycle Training Centers: Reviews
Negative experience: This place is so unprofessional and dirty . They tell everyone to lie and give them 5 stars and a good review . Well here’s the real. They have no signs saying where to go when you pull in . And the address they gave us wasn’t even the right place they were on a whole different side. Then after completing the course they did not send my certificate out. First brandy told me it would take 3-5 days or 2-6 weeks . It still hasn’t came . Then she told me I can just pick it up so I called the day she said to pick up and she told me they don’t do pickups ? And she has to send it out again so I have to wait another 2-6 weeks . I completed this class the beginning or September and have yet to receive anything in the month on November. $400 gone to waste !!!! Definitely not worth it. Go spend your money elsewhere.
Fantastic experience: I just finished the course and had a great experience. The instructors provided feedback and helped riders work through issues. Sometimes it was hard to hear instructions because of traffic on the road and at the airport but the instructors were willing to answer clarifying questions or repeat themselves when asked.
Fantastic experience: Extremely helpful course for beginning. Instructors we got Steve and Michael were extremely resourceful and explained everything clearly. The range was fun to learn on. You need to really pay attention and understand clearly what is being said and understand the information you are given.
Fantastic experience: I took the course my class was 6/7-6/8 and let me tell you that my instructor did an amazing job! I’m sorry I forgot your name but thank you for being so patient with me I learned so much from you and today because of your help I was able to shift to second gear on my own bike and was able to do a U-turn with my feet on my bike and I looked through the turn just like I did in class and I pressed on the breaks SMOOOOOOTHLY! “Inside joke” if you take the course you’ll know what I mean. I recommend this place to anyone if you’re thinking of riding one day definitely helps a lot.
Negative experience: My personal experience feels very mixed. The online courses were great and well paced for you to learn and focus. The actual bike training seemed rushed and pushed. One trainer was very patient (Edwin) while the other wasn’t. I often couldn’t hear clearly as surrounding sounds and their yelling of directions would become muddled or muffled. The actual course should be painted again. It was at times hard to see which line was the actual line you should be in and once you tried following a rider in front of you, the whole ride would feel congested or slowed down. Again not always sure who they are yelling at so I guess that’s the not listening part they call out? I failed the first day due to a wrong turn at the end of the course after them also saying I wasn’t listening or turning correctly. (A lot of the riders weren’t either). Not even given a second chance to try the said turn again after spending all 5hrs of feeling like I was finally catching on. So as a brand new rider with no experience, I don’t think going helped. Especially getting told you failed and not getting to try again. Isn’t that the point of these courses? To be taught…not kicked out.
Positive experience: Only made it through the first day but feel it was a good experience. My wife got kicked out so I didn't go back for the 2nd day. Both instructors said she wasn't following instructions but the bikes were janky so a lot of her issues were because of that (I've been riding 30 years and yeah, the bikes kinda suck). I personally learned a couple new things but only because I learn regardless of the instructor's style. Edwin was cool. More patient and focused on individual advice. Sheldon.....prob needs a chill pill and remind himself he's not in the military anymore.
Fantastic experience: I want to thank Top Gun, excellent training, very organized, and great instructors.
Fantastic experience: Pretty simple class, learned a lot of very helpful tips and skills to help me be a great beginner rider, the in class portion was nice and I was able to learn a few new things from that. The riding portion itself was fantastic, from beginning to end our instructors were very clear on what we were going to be doing and giving tips on what we could do better during the exercises. In the 3 day period I was there I’m walking out a much more experienced beginner rider and I couldn’t ask for anything more, thank you Lewis, Stephen, and Bill
Fantastic experience: The instructors were great and very informative. I will definitely take the course, once a year to refresh memory. Steven and david!
Negative experience: I took morning classes and I was unimpressed for a couple of reasons. 1.The instructors showed up extremely late on the first day. 2. The instructors wording and explanations often made simple instructions more confusing. 3. Instructors riding demonstration were very quick and pretty unhelpful. 4. Oil leak from the motorcycle in Front of me made my front lose most of its traction. 5.Communication between instructor and Rider was very poor. The instructor would yell at the riders about how they did something good or bad but all of the riders are so close together you can’t tell if they are talking to you or the person in front or behind you. 6. The riders ride very close together and if the person in front of you messes up there is a good chance you are going down with them. 7. About half the class failed. About 15 people participated only about 7 passed. If you want to get your motorcycle certificate I recommend a different motorcycle School.
Fantastic experience: Just finished with my corse. The online class was good because I could take classes on my own schedule. The field training was fun and exciting. Steve and Queen are good instructors. They gave you feedback and gave tips on how to improve. You need to keep an open mind and get out of your confort zone.
Fantastic experience: Learned so many skills I wasnt utilizing on the road learning on my own, instructors were knowledgeable and with u every step of the way,I highly recommend it for beginners and even intermediate riders.
Negative experience: Extremely money hungry business. I signed up for their beginner 2 day class on the second day i was involved in an accident literally on my way to the course and was about 45 minutes late to class. i even called the office after the accident and even left a voicemail explaining what had happened since this all happened before their office opened. none the less, i still made the drive and showed up, again only being about 45 minutes late and after seeing pictures of the accident the instructor called the office and got clearance to have me re-attend the class the following day and reassured me that i could take the day off to clear my mind. about an hour later, I receive a phone call from their office and basically going back on what i was originally told and they said that i have to pay an additional $250 on top of the $350 to resignup since i "violated their attendance policy". As someone who runs a business, i understand the importance of following cancellation policies but also as someone who runs a business, i understand that things happen that are out of my clients control, especially when a simple fix is available. on top of that, the lady on the phone said if i had paperwork to prove i was in an accident i "would have gotten me a discount on the resign up process" ... as i said, EXTREMELY MONEY HUNGRY AND WEIRD. I would not recommend this place to my family nor friends, id definitely go with a business that values people over profits because this place is just not that.
