Learn to Ride VC: Reviews
Fantastic experience: I had a great experience with the course! Marlene, Jose, Clark and Larry are great instructors! They are very knowledgeable, informative, and supportive team answering every question and giving good feedback. Looking forward to taking the advance course.
Fantastic experience: 5 STARS
Fantastic experience: I had a wonderful time learning how to ride properly and developing good habits riding. I would definitely recommend this to any new or current riders!
Fantastic experience: Great incouraging instructor well knowledgeable and patient with the students Would recommend without a doubt
Fantastic experience: Had the best time getting to learn with Larrys team! Mars, Mark, and Jose were our instructors and they made sure everybody felt confident and excited every step of the way. Thank you Larry and Brenda in the office for such a smooth and fun experience!
Fantastic experience: Great experience. Instructors were professional, thorough, knowledgeable and respectful. I’m glad there was a bit of a variety of bike options, as I was able to feel the difference from a previous program and ride similar to what I plan to purchase.
Fantastic experience: One of the best can’t recommend this place enough worth every penny spent the tutors were hilarious and overall very friendly and professional
Fantastic experience: Great experience. I didn’t have much riding experience before taking the course, and I was nervous that receiving my waiver for the DMV riding test would depend on written and riding tests in this course. I feel like I learned a lot through my 2 full days of riding and classroom instruction. I really thought the instructors are what a teacher should in this case: constructive, firm, insightful, and coming from a place of wanting you to be safe! I totally thought I might’ve failed the riding test, as I made a couple mistakes, but I still passed! I’m really glad I took this course, as I feel I got crucial experience and learned what it means to build good riding habits and technique. You can do all the drills that are done in the course by yourself, but you won’t get the constructive feedback by someone who is trained for this. For this reason I recommend this course to anyone looking for beginner experience on a motorcycle, motorcycle knowledge, and good riding habits that will keep you safe! If you’re thinking of taking it, do it!
Fantastic experience: My husband and I had an awesome experience with Learn to Ride. They have a perfectly crafter curriculum, in my opinion, that goes through the fundamentals of motorcycle riding and captures the importance and responsibility to comes with operating bikes on the roads. We did the zoom class on Friday evening, and though sitting in a class is no one's idea of an ideal Friday night. Mark, our instructor was great at holding our attention, keeping the class interesting and moving at a good pace. We had our first range (aka riding) day on Saturday morning at 5:45am, as soon as the sun came up. Our class was 12 people and we got right into it. Jose joined us today along with Mark. They were both awesome instructors with great leadership voices and skills, and worked great together. They were encouraging and provided great feedback. They knew all the tips and tricks to help us learn proper technique. The pace was appropriate and our skills grew quickly. Most of us were on cruiser Kawasaki bikes, and a few people who had ridden before were out on sport bikes. Jose held our class Saturday afternoon and he was great at introducing us to the world of riding and really driving in the concepts that needed to be remembered. We all passed our written tests that afternoon. The next morning we had our last riding session and riding test. Again, all great content. And then we had a last one on one meeting to find out if we passed and any last advice from our instructors. It was such a pleasant experience. I recommend that everyone take this class even if you don't get a motorcycle because it helps you understand motorcyclist perspective and increases your consciousness as a driver on the road with motorcyclists.
Fantastic experience: I have had experience with multiple instructors and the owner of Learn to Ride VC and all of my experiences with them were extremely pleasant. The instructors are very professional while still being assertive and teaching important, life saving skills. I highly suggest them to anybody looking to learn to ride from the very beginning, improve their skills or just trying to get their license. All who work with Learn to Ride VC will leave being a more knowledgeable and safe rider!
Fantastic experience: The instructors were super helpful and experienced, also didn’t get annoyed when bombarded with questions. Made the in classroom portion easy to sit through and enjoyable!
Fantastic experience: I was so impressed with how patient and thorough every instructor at Learn to Ride was. I had zero experience in anything motorcycle related but their in-class and on range sessions made sure I felt comfortable before leaving the course. I would highly highly recommend taking their course if you’ve ever been interested in learning to ride a motorcycle!
Fantastic experience: Highly recommend this class for anyone who’s never rode a motorcycle before and is wanting to learn. The instructors here are amazing and definitely want to come back in the future and take their intermediate writing course.
Fantastic experience: The most amazing experience ever!!!
Fantastic experience: It’s worth the price. I have never been on a motorcycle and was kinda nervous but I always wanted to be on a bike since I was a kid. I finally jumped the gun and took a spot on the course. The instructors: Jose and Garrett(I think) really do care and teach you how to ride and really helped build my confidence on it. I learned how to shift, turn, the dangers of riding, statistics, etc. My favorite thing I learned is how to use “SPAT”leaning the bike to turn(yes, they provide the bikes based on your height. Then you have a class that teaches you the rules, etc. same ones they use for DMV written test. I recommend this to anyone who is starting to want learn to on a bike like me. Oh did I mention after completing the course you get discounts for insurance, bike, gear discounts and can skip the DMV driving portion when completing the course. That’s a plus!
Fantastic experience: 10/10 I'm so glad I took this course, it was hard work, but it made me a much better rider, highly recommend this to anyone who not only wants to get their license but become more responsible on the road!
Fantastic experience: I had such a great experience with Learn to Ride VC! All the instructors were very knowledgeable, answered every question patiently, and made sure we all felt confident on the bike. This was my first time riding, and I learned so much while also really enjoying the process. I would highly recommend this class!
Fantastic experience: Awesome experience, I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is interested learning to ride motorcycles and get your m1. Everyone was helpful and interested in helping you learn and get you comfortable on 2 wheels.
Fantastic experience: I had a great experience with LRVC! Jose and Mark were great instructors! Highly Recommend!
Fantastic experience: The entire staff is knowledgeable and genuinely concerned in insuring you are prepared for the open road. Highly recommend them and am thankful for the refresh after being away from motorcycles for some time. A must do for anyone interested in movin on down the road on a bike. Thank you LTR!!!!
Fantastic experience: Can't say enough good things about RIDE VC program. I highly recommend it. It's the best way to hone your skills to stay safe, get a discount on motorcycle insurance, and go about your new found freedom of riding to live, and living to ride.
Fantastic experience: Suuuuuper informative and well laid out course, covering all the basics on what it takes to be a safe rider. Highly recommend before buying your first bike as this will be the perfect introduction and instill good habits before you have time to develop bad habits on your own. The class size isn't bad, capped at 12 riders which leaves plenty of room and time for personal instruction as well as riding exercises. My only complaint is the early hour that the class starts at, but that's necessary in order to get a full day of education in.
Fantastic experience: Got the pleasure of taking the beginner course and it was a blast! The instructors are passionate and just as excited to have you there as you are. If you go there to learn and have fun, you will leave a confident rider, certificate in hand. Additionally, don't let the written course material go to waste. It'll help you glide through DMV written test. Stay attentive and the course pays for itself and is definitely worth it. I'll be back for the Intermediate and Advance courses in the future for sure!
Fantastic experience: To keep it straight and to the point, study what you’re given and you’ll pass easy. I had the best instructors and I’m glad I got to learn and experience more about the motorcyclist world. To mention, I prefer the 2 day because it was informative and quick. Thank you Arden, Marco, and Grant for being to the point, supportive, and honest. To everyone else thinking about the course, do it!! See yall on the road and stay safe
Fantastic experience: I could not be happier that I decided to go to Learn to Ride Vc for this experience. My instructor’s Mark and Jose were amazing— super patient, knowledgeable, and always had a positive attitude. I learned so much and can’t wait to apply it all in real life! 10/10 recommend
Fantastic experience: Mark made the experience well worth it. The class was very remedial but for licensing purposes it was useful. He was patient with the other students that had no experience. I appreciate his time and knowledge. The other instructors were great as well.
Fantastic experience: Good trainers, very good planned out routes. Always understand if asking questions, demonstrate tasks to make sure you understand them. I would highly recommend
Positive experience: I recently got a Class 3 ebike (45mph+) and was looking for ways to educate myself on how to ride safely and to be respectful on the road. They do not offer any sort of training for ebikes, even if they are class 3. The person I spoke to was not receptive to my questions and almost seemed bothered that I called - customer service: 3/10, at least they answered the phone ♂️
Fantastic experience: Great place to learn/refresh basic motorcycle skills. Instructors practice what they preach.
Fantastic experience: I highly recommend the basics course if you're looking to get your motorcycle license. It helped me build fundamental skills and gain confidence safely while getting continuous feedback. The instructors were incredibly helpful, friendly, and knowledgable. Thank you guys for making me a better rider!
Fantastic experience: An amazing experience will definitely teach you some thing you won't expect And very fun
Negative experience: I had to make number of calls before I could talk to a live person in order to pay the $258 fee for the motorcycle safety class and reserve the seat. I was told that I will receive by COB of that day the Student Guide and other necessary documents that must be reviewed before class start. I did not receive any documents via email for 4 business days. I called several times at various business hours to ask for the student guide but no live person! Left at least 8 messages on different day to ask for the documents but no response! Finally, there was one message from them to call back but when I called 15 minutes later, THERE WAS NO PERSON AVAILABLE TO SPEAK TO! I finally kept calling and caught them at 4:40pm. I was finally told that she is very busy and back-logged! I asked her to send me a quick email to test our connections but she mentioned that she is not at home, and she tried to convince me that my email spam box is the cause of the deficiency! I don't know how this business is operated and how they could get the DMV recommendation. I asked for a full refund because I can't trust their training when they don't have a committed individual to take care of customers and correspondence. I'll sure follow this matter with DMV. It is much less headache to take the DMV motorcycle test rather than going through this.
Positive experience: I'm giving the Instructors a 5 star review. However, the office dept needs serious help. I feel that if we pay the $$ for the course, and pass, we should get our certificate of completion and pass WAYYYY before now. I took the class on September 2, &3rd and STILL haven't received anything in the mail. My expectations are not met. I only have 2 weeks left before my permit expires to submit to the DMV. After numerous phone calls to Sabrina and promised mail arriVal dates, as of today Sept 15, have an empty mailbox. Very disappointed. But keep in mind the instructors were GREAT! most valuable.
Fantastic experience: This class teaches the basics to safe motorcycle riding like clutch/throttle control, counter steering, emergency stopping, and more. Passing the class gets you a waiver for the DMV practical test, which is a huge help. This class is also a great way to dip your toes into the world of motorcycles without spending a ton of money. They even provide the motorcycles and helmets! If it turns out you don't like riding or are not capable of it, at least you know you had professional instruction, on someone else's bike, and you've only spent a small amount of money.
Fantastic experience: Taking the beginner course at Learn to Ride VC has been one of the best investments I have ever made! Highly knowledgeable and experienced instructors Jose and Bob, welcoming and comfortable class room, extensive lineup of motorcycles at the range and super convenient weekend schedule. Highly recommend the course!
Fantastic experience: I had an awesome experience here at Learn to Ride VC. The instructors are extremely knowledgeable and friendly. They genuinely cared about our success and it showed! I found out that Learn to Ride VC offers CHP CMSP MTC (Motorcyclist Training Course) classes which can get you a skills test waiver (DL389) and they also offer the CHP CMSP Total Control IRC (Intermediate Riding Clinic) and Total Control ARC (Advanced Riding Clinics) The classroom is located in a small industrial park off of Surfside Drive's North/South segment. Make sure you GPS/map your way here using a pin or the venue instead of an address, or you may find yourself on the beach as some GPS suites have trouble mapping correctly to the classroom. The range is located inside Camarillo Airport and there is a security gate, so don't be late to get to the designated shuttle pickup point or else you WILL not be able to get in. They said to come with an open mind regardless of your level of training, accept your coaching, respect the learning of your fellow classmates and you will see improvements in your riding gauranteed... I did all 3 and saw definite improvements and more confidence in my riding. I will definitely be back here to take the TC ARC L2 (Total Control Advanced Riding Clinic Level 2) Motorcycle riding is about continuous lifelong learning. Each class is like a good book... Just like a good book you can read over and over again, the IRC & ARC next level courses can be taken over & over again and they are totally worth it for all the life saving skills and enhanced proficiency you walk away with. Never stop learning!
Fantastic experience: My experience at learn to ride VC was a life changing one. The instructors were humorous but ultimately dedicated to teaching life saving skills. I took the two day weekend course. I arrived at 7 am and was greeted with warm smiles and coffee. The instructors took care of house cleaning business and then proceeded to start making jokes and teaching us invaluable knowledge about riding. The presentations were clear, succinct, and provided a strong foundation for learning how to ride motorcycles. On the range, the instructors provided clear and meaningful instructions. I felt that I was being guided and taught well. The entire course allowed for people with no experience on a bike to get the bike rolling and learn techniques that will allow them to ride in the future. I will be taking intermediate/advanced courses from this company asap.
Fantastic experience: I like this motorcycle school
