Fantastic experience: I can’t thank NorCal Moto enough for their patience and expertise. The instructors made every step of the training clear, encouraging, and confidence-building. They helped me not only become a better and safer rider, but also fully prepared me to pass my motorcycle license exam. I’m truly grateful for the support and highly recommend them to anyone looking to improve their skills on two wheels.

Negative experience: I took the emtc through this company in Santa Rosa at some point in the last 2 months, in my opinion they did an ok at best job in training me. I was often given varying instructions and speeds from the 2 instructors on the course which made the practice very difficult. I was told I failed the course, I then went and took the skills test at the DMV and passed easily. Many friends of mine who took this course failed as well, though they ride much better and safer than those who pass in other towns. Their grading seems much stricter, and when I was told why I failed I got nothing in help from the instructors. If you want to become a safe and licensed motorcycle driver, I cannot reccomend this course.

Fantastic experience: I had a great time out there with Dan and Marcelo. These guys really took the time to answer the questions I had and explain why the techniques are needed for safe riding. I look forward to taking the intermediate class.

Fantastic experience: This was a great class with super instructors. They put as much information as possible into two days to give you the basics of riding.

Fantastic experience: Took the beginner class at the Santa Rosa location and got a lot out of it. Instructors were all very patient, friendly, and supportive. It felt like they all had a passion for riding and wanted to share that with others while teaching the safety to support it.

Negative experience: I took this course in order to get an international drivers license so that when I travel, I could rent an automatic scooter. They only provide motorcycles with manual transmission, so that is what you are given. I tried to explain that to my instructors but they didn't care. In the 10 hours of hands on training, it seems impossible to me, that any one could go from zero or minimal experience to pass their test. In fact. I think they failed my entire class, or at least most of it. And before the owner comes on here to berate me, yes, I know there is no guarantee to pass the test, but maybe it's just impossible to pass without a lot of prior experience. And if you have prior experience, just go to the DMV and take the test and save your money. It's a two day course and we had two different instructors each day. They obviously never communicated and the second day the instructor was out of sync with what we did the day before and went over an entire chapter we had already covered, adding at least an hour of time to the day. The instructors were all saying they were "giving back" by teaching, but I got the impression that they really enjoyed failing everyone to keep them off the road. They follow a basic script, there is zero personal education or attention, and they provide no time to let you get comfortable on your own, or practice on your own. You are in a group of 12 people the entire time. It was a waste of my $450. They offer to let you come back and pay them more to retake the test, but without any time to work things out on your own, I wouldn't risk losing even more money.

Fantastic experience: My fiancé and I really enjoyed taking their basic course for our endorsements. Our instructors, Dan and Marcello, were excellent instructors. They were knowledgeable, communicated well, and where just plain good teachers. I very impressed with how much individual feedback they were able to give each student. Overall a positive and safe learning environment to learn practical skills, and understand concepts that make my fiancé and I safer on the road. I would recommend this course to anyone, especially for new riders. Thank you Dan & Marcello!

Fantastic experience: This course was my first time ever being on a bike. The instructors made me feel ready but did not slow things down for me to catch up. It helped me learn fast, and pick out what I need to practice more easily. At the end of each day I brought up my questions and discussed what to work on and how and where. It’s the best preparation I could ask for in only two days.

Fantastic experience: My partner and I took their basic course for our endorsements and learned a ton, plus had a blast! Our instructors, Dan and Marcello, were fantastic - very knowledgeable, encouraging, and skilled at teaching. I was especially impressed with how much individual attention and instruction they were able to give each student despite us being a pretty large group. They really fostered a fun, supportive, and safe learning environment where I felt comfortable going through each exercise and came out of it understanding the concepts I needed to grasp. Definitely would recommend!

Fantastic experience: Great! Loved every minute. Walter is about as old as the hills :), but loved him and his son. I would recommend this course to anyone interested in riding a motorcycle. I rode years ago and so happy I took this course to refresh and learn a couple things. We had riders from every age and level and the instructors were patient and helped all. Do it!

Fantastic experience: Just finished my basic MTC this past weekend and I had the best time out there. I was sooooooo nervous for the training exercises but the instructors, James and Quinton/Quentin(?), were so kind and patient with us. The first range day, the weather was 100 degrees out! It was brutal but the entire class pushed through and we finished. I drove all the way from Richmond and had to rush back (not complaining) in order to make it to zoom class... sooo, take that into consideration if you're coming from outside of Santa Rosa. I specifically chose this location bc I wanted to do this before my birthday and other closer locations did not have any availability and I'm very happy with my decision bc I got schooled by two awesome instructors. My suggestion to anyone wanting to take the course is to plan NOTHING the day of the range course just in case the class goes over time. Remember, sh*t happens and sometimes staying within timeframe is just not possible so be prepared and don't have a bad attitude if sh*t doesn't go your way. And prep for the weather. And lastly, read the terms/conditions on the website thoroughly. If you cannot commit to the terms then don't sign up bc you're just going to be disappointed if something happens whether it be a family emergency or the weather isn't cooperating and you can't make it. Obviously, the instructors would not put you in harms way or move forward with class if they deemed it unsafe. Again, my entire class rode in 100-degree weather and it was extremely hard but we all pushed through bc we really wanted it. Just pop some advil and stay hydrated. I def recommend this course and pray that you get James and Quinton as instructors. Thanks, guys!

Negative experience: They have multiple locations one in Hayward also. I paid $300 dollars for a beginners safety course and the instructor were rude from the beginning. They have short tempers and lack verbal instructions and offer little assistance. I took this class because I wanted to learn to ride a motorcycle as a new rider- never ridden before but the instructors kept urging me to move "forward, go faster, keep up" definitely not respecting my boundaries as new rider. I kept having questions only to be responded by yelling . I can't believe I paid money for this . They have decent information but the lack of individual instruction sucks. I was trying to follow instructions and had questions when the motorcycle stops and falls on top of my ankle! My ankle is definitely injured and it could've definitely been avoided with proper safety training. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.

Negative experience: These people only care about your money. Very dishonest.

NorCal Moto

As some like to just give bad ratings but not true information right FIRST LAST?

Fantastic experience: I loved the instructors and the ease with which we approached each basic skill!

Cali Fornia 5 years ago

Negative experience: Go somewhere else even if you have to drive a couple towns more. These people are rude. Right off the back they look at you as if you are lesser than them and make you not want to be there.

NorCal Moto

Seriously Cali-fornia at least give a true name. If you even attended the school.

Fantastic experience: I had alot of fun doing this course and learned way more than I expected too. I truly think all riders should take the course at least once. Great instructors and lots of classroom knowledge.

Fantastic experience: So helpful class and friendly staff too, our instructors were so great.

Fantastic experience: Definitely recommend my instructor definitely pushed me don't blame knobby tires or a helmet for your lack of skills got to be open minded and be willing to take directions got to commit the one thing I noticed on the course that made us hesitate was the fear a losing balance and keeping their eyes off the ground they're not there to be your friends there there to keep you alive

NorCal Moto

Thank you and keeping riders safe and alive on the road is our FIRST concern.

Abraham Petrow 7 years ago

Negative experience: You will learn some safety tips for staying alive on a motorcycle, but don't expect to get a certificate to take to the DMV. After two days of riding, i didn't pass their riding test, so it was a waste of my time. My instructor said I didn't look around enough, and I could pay to take the riding part again. I did everything they asked and pretty well considering that they wouldn't let me use my $450 bell helmet because there was some cosmetic tape on it and provided me a helmet with a broken visor, a dirt bike with knobby tires to ride on a paved parking lot, and the cones for the riding test were tiny 5 inch by 2 inch high dirty rubber cones that you couldnt see until you were on top of them. I raced motorcycles for several years, and have ridden safely to Canada and Mexico, so I knew what I was doing. I wont be going back there.

NorCal Moto

At the beginning of every safety course everyone is told that there is NO guarantee of passing the course. As others who have left reviews point out we make it fun and enjoyable, but our primary concern is safety. We work hard to teach each person in our courses the very basics in order to survive the actual streets and live. Sometimes as I have said before not everyone is ready for street riding. Just because a person knows how to ride, does not mean they know how to ride safely, we follow the rules and regulations set by the State of California. Which by the way any person over the age of 21 can go directly to DMV and attempt their tests.
