Fantastic experience: Had an amazing time with Terry and Willy. Their combined 100 years (!) of riding experience helped a group of 8 inexperienced riders feel comfortable and confident in handling a bike. I took a class 15 years ago in California, but didn't feel comfortable enough to take on the roads and crazy drivers out west. Fortunately, all those skills I learned were easily dusted off and honed and I earned my endorsement this time around! Patient and caring, they exeeded my expectations for the class. Rubber side down!

Fantastic experience: I had never driven a motorcycle before this class and didn’t know the first thing about using a manual. From the very beginning, Brad and Terry made everything clear, safe, and approachable. They know how to break things down so you don’t feel overwhelmed, and their dedication to safety made me feel comfortable the whole time. The way they explained things and guided us through each step gave me confidence, and I honestly learned more in two days than I ever thought was possible. BAM has professional, patient, and communicative teachers who clearly care about their students. I walked away with a license, the skills I needed to be safe, and a lot of excitement to keep riding! I would recommend this class to any person at any skill level.

Fantastic experience: Terry and Brad were both incredible instructors, who were committed to the development of all of the students in the course. Course availability was no concern, in fact I was given multiple opportunities to move my class to a sooner date than I originally scheduled. The class itself moved at a good pace, I never felt like I was being “rushed” through the exercises. Terry and Brad took the time to give verbal instruction on the various exercises, and gave spectacular visual demonstrations. If you’re on the fence about taking the MSF course, I’d highly recommend taking the plunge and enrolling in BAM. It was a great experience, and I’m excited to carry what I learned during the course with me into the next chapter of my motorcycling career.

Fantastic experience: I would highly recommend BAM if you are looking to get your license or just a safety class. Owner and instructor Terry was very passionate, knowledgeable and caring throughout the course. His Co instructor Brad was also very knowledgeable and professional. My class varied amongst prior skill level with several of us having dirt bike experience and some never sitting on two wheels in their life. They did a great job of breaking some bad habits that us with prior dirt bike experience had while providing real life scenarios to back it up. As mentioned, several people who attended had no prior experience and to watch them go from nervous to confident and earn their license was impressive. I would 10/10 recommend them if looking to get your license or just a safety course! Tom

Negative experience: Found myself wanting to fulfill a dream of mine so signed up for the motorcycle school here in my local city as I had heard good things. I was 2 minutes late to class and immediately got a call with attitude asking me where I was even when I was there just trying to figure out where the classroom was. Started the class and they assured us all that if you had “no experience” on a bike, that this was the class for you. I have rode on a moped but don't know the actual basics to riding. They were good at teaching until I started to struggle and that’s where the frustration came out. There was only two of us ladies signed up in this class and I feel as we both struggled the most at the beginning. After trying the first time through, I got nervous and Terry could tell. I couldn’t really hear him over the engine and I know this contributed to the frustration. Either way, I am super disappointed with how I was treated as this class is most certainly NOT for beginners or for anyone who doesn’t have experience. I lost not only my deposit of $200 but also, my $190 I paid for the class and left after about two hours of the class. Nobody tried to work with me to make it work or even offer me to come back by myself. I wouldn’t recommend anyone taking this class that has no experience. Super disappointed with how this turned out.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely amazing course that taught me how to ride from absolutely no experience to feeling like a competent rider within just 2 days. Terry and Willie were really great, friendly, funny, and gave such good constructive criticism. Would recommend to anyone looking to start riding with no experience, or anyone looking to get practice in on safety maneuvers and good riding techniques.

Fantastic experience: Excellent experience. Having almost zero riding experience, I came out of this class with actual skills and riding intelligence. Instructors Terry and Brad are very patient, knowledgeable and are very relaxed, yet the right kind of serious. I would recommend this school to anyone looking to get into riding.

Fantastic experience: Amazing experience! I went to class because I was obligated to and left feeling like I should have gone a long time ago. I learned and developed skills I couldn't have on my own and I feel significantly more confident in my abilities as a rider. I watched Terry and Brad teach a kid who NEVER rode to ride well enough to EARN his license in TWO days!!! Fantastic work!

Fantastic experience: I just completed the basic rider course yesterday and earned my “L” endorsement at BAM with Terry and Brad. I could not begin to express how truly wonderful this experience has been. Coming into the class with practically no knowledge, Brad and Terry did an amazing job of making me feel confident, informed, and safe. There was always ample time for questions, voicing concerns, and they were always willing to repeat themselves if you needed it. BAM puts a huge emphasis on safety which I really appreciated. They were both so kind even when I stalled the bike for the 100th time… sorry guys lol. They made sure we all had FUN learning to be the best we could be in a short two days. I never felt judged for my mistakes, and when I did make them I always got a wonderful explanation on why it happened and how to correct it in the future. They are the biggest hype men when you finally do it right and they are right there to pick you up when you are feeling defeated! I could not begin to recommend them more. Thank you for everything!

Fantastic experience: I was extremely uncomfortable on anything larger than an e-bike when this class began yesterday morning. Brad, Will, and Terry made me not only comfortable, but I felt safe above all, and started to thoroughly enjoy and even look forward to the practice sessions, their friendly coaching style, and (some of) their jokes… Thank you all - for everything you did for me personally, and for this invaluable service you provide to our community!

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend this course! I had so much fun, and learned a LOT. I had never ridden a motorcycle before and was really nervous about making a fool of myself. Terry and Brad were such good instructors who taught to all skill levels, and by the end of the class I was feeling really confident! Did a lot of fundamentals, but also how to handle unexpected or dangerous aituations.I realize Maine requires a course to get your license, but even if they didn't, I would still take it as long as Terry and Brad were teaching. Fantastic experience: Great motorcycle classes. The instructors for my class were Brad and Terry. They really walk you through every step of learning to ride. They prioritize safety and the fundamentals. It was so fun when you finally became comfortable riding and get to open up on the course. Highly recommended for passing your MSF.

Fantastic experience: I took their class last weekend to get my motorcycle license. Even with all of the rain, Terry and Brad made the class so much fun and taught us a lot. In just two days I felt like they helped me improve a ton as a rider. I was a total noob and they taught me well enough to acquire my license in that short time. I highly recommend checking them out if you are looking to learn riding skills and get your motorcycle license!

Fantastic experience: Had a great time at BAM! Terry was so kind and patient. I had never driven a motorcycle let alone operated anything with a manual transmission. I had researched the BRC course quite a bit beforehand and was very intimidated. I was absolutely convinced that I wouldn’t make it through both days. At BAM, Terry never gave up on me and helped me gain some confidence by celebrating even the smallest wins. I reached my goal of earning my permit, and know how to practice safely and what I need to work on.

Fantastic experience: Whether you're brand new to riding or already have some experience, this is the place to get your motorcycle license. Terry had a class ready for me and my friend just four days after I called—super responsive and organized. He showed up on time, was totally reliable, and honestly crushed it as a coach. Terry knows his stuff. Thanks to his guidance, I’m now licensed and confident out on the road. What really stood out was watching him teach someone who had never been on a motorcycle before—and he still managed to give the rest of us (who had some riding experience) a ton of value. The way he balanced the class and tailored his coaching was seriously impressive. I'm beyond glad I was able to learn from him. If you're thinking about getting licensed, don’t even hesitate—this is the class to take.

Fantastic experience: I had no experience with riding motorcycle before this course. Today I left the course with my license! Instructors are very patient and knowledgeable. They made the course fun also. Definitely recommend!!

Fantastic experience: This motorcycle school is awesome! The instructor's go through absolutely everything. They demostrate everything for you before you go through every evaluation. The instructor's help you every step of the way. I took probably 100 tests to make sure I was good for any written part just to find out they no longer have a written part. It's all on the bike training. You just have to pay attention. The classes go on rain or shine so my advice would be check the weather and have extra clothing just incase it rain's. Good Luck!

Fantastic experience: Cannot recommend BAM enough! Saw great reviews and was not disappointed! We travelled up from Auburn area and it was well worth the effort. Terry, Willie and Brad were the best, knowledgeable, patient and fun instructors you could ask for. Our weather conditions were challenging to say the least but the staff kept our spirits and confidence high. If you are a new rider or just looking to “get legal,” this will be your first and last stop. Check them out!! ️

Fantastic experience: 10/10 would highly recommend. Terry, Josh and Brad make it a completely stress free environment, if you are a nervous test taker they will walk you through it so patiently that you don't even think about being graded and just have fun. They make sure every person that goes there leaves a safe and well informed rider. Hoping to take the advanced classes next.

Fantastic experience: Great school and great people, highly recommend going. My instructor was Brad, he was very patient and clear with his instructions and did everything he could to help me fix any issues or confusion I was having. Bikes are beautiful and corse is really well set up.

Fantastic experience: Man Terry and Willie were awesome these guys will work with you till you get every maneuver down packed first day is kind of serious then they’ll lighten the load and everybody can have some fun they are by the books but safety is every thing good job Terry and Willie definitely has a good time and will recommend you guys to everybody I know even though you are a pretty good travel from down here. Fantastic experience: I went into this motorcycle safety course believing that I wouldn’t have any problems because of the years I spent on the back of one as a passenger. I was wrong. Terry was my instructor & he did a phenomenal job giving me guidance & support in the areas I struggled with. He was serious & slightly stern, yet enlightening, patient & kind. I took away so much knowledge & understanding. I suggest this course to anyone interested in becoming a motorcycle driver or to anyone who has been driving them illegally.

Fantastic experience: It was a very well run class. Even with the time constraints, the teachers were straight forward on how to improve. They are eager to teach and see their students do well. I still think of their practices while I am riding now.

Fantastic experience: An absolutely fantastic course, I would recommend to anyone. I could tell Terry was a vet right away by his straightforward, no-bs attitude, which I really appreciated. With a hobby that can be so dangerous, I believe that's the best approach. None of the lessons were taken lightly, because the instructors truly care about skill development and the continued safety of the riders long after the course is over. The class was very structured, with Terry and Brad explaining concepts clearly and repetitively, to really hammer them into our brains. They offered great feedback and constructive criticism when you inevitably make mistakes, and encouragement when you do things correctly. I struggled significantly on the first day with clutch control, having stalled the bike close to 50 times. With their patience and help, by the end of the second day I was having minimal issue. I finished the course with a license, and I'll be taking it slow on the backroads as I continue to develop my skills.

Fantastic experience: Great experience. Classes were very laid back and enjoyable. Everything is clearly explained during practice before so no stress about doing something wrong during the exercises. I had almost 0 riding experience and multiple people in my class got a perfect score at the end and everyone passed the test for their license which is a true testament to the instructors abilities to help you learn

Fantastic experience: i took the basic rider course to get my license. it was nice to be able to do the classroom work on line the week before at my own pace. then for the actual hands on learning was very clear and thorough. you can choose what days to attend, mon+tuesday or wed+thurs or sat+sunday. so thats a bonus for being flexible. i have heard good and bad from other motorcycle training places. but i have only heard good of Bangor Area Motorcycle School. i would recommend this outfit for anyone. thanks, John

Fantastic experience: This is EXACTLY Where you need to go to learn the fundamentals in riding and obtaining your license. The instructors care about you not developing bad habits. They aren't afraid to be critical during the course with constructive criticism which helps you on the test and in real life. GO HERE.

As a student coming in with zero riding experience I can definitely say that I learned a lot and gained confidence in the basic skills of riding a motorcycle. Fantastic experience: Took the BRC course here in July and had an amazing time. Rider Coaches were great and handled the class very well. As a close we developed a lot and was able to grow my skills so much in the short time being with them. Highly recommend these guys!

Fantastic experience: Great instructor; he's very wise in motorcycle knowledge and is passionate in teaching future riders how to ride! The space was professional and organized. He offers weekday and weekend classes. You'll definitely get your bang for your buck when it comes to education. I recommend this school to anyone and everyone who has an itch for the open road!
