Our comment from DrivingSchools.Directory about PowerRide University:
PowerRide University is renowned for its comprehensive motorcycle training programs aimed at riders of all experience levels. Graduates of the Basic Rider Course (BRC) have praised the professionalism, patience, and expertise of instructors such as Coach Phil, Coach Kamara, and others, who provide invaluable support and constructive feedback throughout the learning process. Many students, including complete beginners, have reported gaining the confidence and knowledge necessary to ride safely on the road.
Some highlights of PowerRide University include:
- Highly qualified instructors: The coaching staff is known for their deep knowledge of motorcycle safety and effective teaching methods, creating an empowering learning environment.
 - Responsive customer service: Students have noted quick responses and helpfulness from the administrative team, contributing to a positive overall experience.
 - Strong community spirit: Many learners formed supportive connections with their classmates, fostering a collaborative atmosphere that enhances the educational journey.
 - Flexible scheduling: The school offers varied class times to accommodate different schedules, making it easier for students to find a suitable time for their training.

However, some feedback highlights areas for improvement:
- Instances of inconsistent experiences with certain instructors can impact the student experience; ongoing training and evaluation of staff are essential.
 - Some students expressed difficulties with the course pacing and felt the program was more suited to individuals with prior riding experience, which could be clarified in promotional material.
 - A few reviews indicated concerns regarding equipment conditions and the need for more personalized instruction in group settings.

Overall, PowerRide University remains a valuable choice for those looking to improve their riding skills, provided learners are prepared for the challenges inherent in pursuing motorcycle education.
PowerRide University: Reviews
Fantastic experience: Completed the Basic Rider Course (BRC) & Passed!!! All thanks to Coach Phil and Coach Kamara. They were very professional, knowledgeable, and patient. Both provided great constructive feedback and encouraged everyone every step of the way. It was great meeting others too... some with little to no experience, all encouraging each other throughout the whole course. I've gained the knowledge and confidence I need to ensure I feel and can ride safe on the road. If you're interested in learning to ride, definitely recommend taking the BRC with Power Ride University! ☺️

Fantastic experience: Unforgettable MSF Experience Perfect for First-Time Riders! I walked into this course with zero motorcycle experience. I had never even sat on a bike before, and I was incredibly nervous and scared I’d fail or stall a million times (which, spoiler alert, I did ). But after just two days with Diamond and Alijah, I not only passed the skill test I left feeling confident, capable, and completely in love with riding. This course is intense physically, mentally, and emotionally. We trained hard under the sun, but what made it doable and honestly unforgettable was the instructors. Diamond and Alijah are truly exceptional. Diamond is incredibly knowledgeable, calm, and endlessly patient. She made sure every student understood each skill before moving forward. She paid attention to the little things noticing when someone was struggling, offering tailored advice, and never giving up on anyone. She explained things in different ways to help people grasp tough concepts, and she encouraged us constantly, creating a space where we wanted to push ourselves and improve. Alijah brought amazing energy, humor, and clarity to everything. He explained each maneuver in a way that made sense, and even when we made mistakes, he kept us grounded. He could read when we were frustrated, and instead of letting us spiral, he made us laugh and reset. His attention to detail, combined with his encouragement, made all the difference. He knew when to be serious, when to lighten the mood, and how to push us to be better without overwhelming us. By the time we got to the test, every single student from absolute beginners to those with a little experience passed. That doesn’t just happen. That’s because of Diamond and Alijah: their training, their dedication, their belief in each of us. They didn’t just teach us how to pass they taught us how to ride right. The entire class left with licenses in hand, smiles on our faces, and a deep appreciation for what we learned. I especially want to shout out how respectful, professional, and inclusive both instructors were no one was left behind, and everyone was supported. If you’re considering taking this course, especially if you’re a beginner like me do it. Don’t hesitate. You’ll learn more than you ever expected, and if you’re lucky enough to be taught by Diamond and Alijah, you’re in the absolute best hands possible. Thank you, Diamond and Alijah, for changing the game for me. I’ll never forget this experience.
Hi Khadeejah, Wow — thank you so much for such a heartfelt and beautifully written review! We’re thrilled to hear that your experience in the MSF course was not only unforgettable but also empowering, especially as a brand-new rider. Diamond and Alijah will be overjoyed to read your kind words. Their dedication to each student’s growth, safety, and confidence truly shines through in your story. It means the world to us to know that their encouragement, patience, and energy made such a lasting impact on your learning journey. Riding for the first time can be intimidating, but your perseverance and positive attitude clearly paid off. We’re incredibly proud of you for stepping up, pushing through the challenges, and walking away not just with your license, but with a real love for riding! Thank you again for trusting PowerRide University with such an important milestone. We’re honored to have been part of your journey and can’t wait to see where the road takes you next. Ride safe, ride smart — and welcome to the riding community!

Negative experience: I did this course as a 'COMPLETE BEGINNER' No experience at all. To keep it short if you get bad instructors good luck. They promise more practice time but then move onto the next course. Even when everyone & I mean everyone failed the figure 8 drill in the box they continued. Not Happy wouldn't recommend.
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We're sorry to hear that your experience with the Basic Rider Course didn’t meet your expectations. Our goal is to provide a supportive and safe learning environment for riders of all experience levels, especially beginners.
We take concerns about instruction and practice time seriously and will be reviewing this with our team to ensure we're meeting the standards expected from our students. If you'd be willing to discuss your experience further, please reach out to us directly at 833-743-3101. Your input can help us improve.
Wishing you the best in your riding journey.
Fantastic experience: squid was a very good instructor, very friendly too
Nick, Thank you for your positive review, we are glad to hear that your experience went well. We will let Coach Alijah know of his review!
Negative experience: Extremely disappointed with the weekend staff. The instructor—who couldn’t have been older than 18—was completely unprofessional, condescending, and lacked both maturity and teaching ability. He showed up late, looked visibly unprepared, and immediately had an attitude with the group. At one point, he snapped and said, “Y’all are not listening to me so now I’m starting to get ANGRY,” in a raised voice. That’s completely unacceptable behavior in a professional setting, especially when we paid $300 for this course. 1. It’s his responsibility to guide and teach us—not to lose his temper and act like he’s scolding middle schoolers. 2. If everyone is making the same mistakes, it reflects poor instruction and a lack of leadership, not incompetence on the students’ part. 3. Several students were visibly uncomfortable, and a few even talked about walking out because of how poorly we were being treated. This individual is clearly not fit for this role, and his presence damages the credibility of your program. I strongly urge management to re-evaluate who you’re putting in front of paying customers. A refund or rescheduled session with a qualified instructor should be the bare minimum response.
Traxel, We’re sorry to hear you had a negative experience. However, we were not contacted by you or anyone in your class regarding any concerns over the weekend. Had we been given that opportunity, we could have looked into the situation and responded appropriately.
Our instructors—regardless of age—are fully certified under MSF standards and are held to the same professional expectations. If there were behavior or conduct issues, we absolutely want to know more, but we need the full context to fairly evaluate the situation.
We encourage you to contact the office directly so we can better understand your experience. Without that conversation, we’re unable to consider a refund or rescheduling request based solely on an online review.
Negative experience: Though they may say this is a beginner's course, it is most definitely NOT BEGINNER FRIENDLY. What they leave out on their website is that they prefer riders who have at least a bit of experience. As a complete beginner (who hasn't ridden at all) you will be expected to keep up with other students who have YEARS of experience over you, and if you mess up too many times (as a complete beginner obviously would), they will fail you and then have the audacity to tell you that you "may not be suited for riding." They are more concerned with shoveling people through and trying to keep up with their crammed schedule than actually taking the time to nurture and educate people who are riding for the very first time. That being said, if you are a complete beginner, save your money, and find a place that will give you patient instructors who don't expect you to learn at THEIR pace, but rather your own.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with Powerride University. We’re truly sorry to hear that the course didn’t meet your expectations, especially as a new rider. Your feedback is important to us, and we want to address your concerns directly.
While our Basic Rider Course is designed as an entry-level program, we understand that “beginner” can mean different things to different people. For this reason, our course materials and website recommend that students have a basic level of physical coordination—such as being able to ride a bicycle—and a general understanding of balance and throttle control. However, we recognize that for true first-time riders, the learning curve can be steep.
Our coaches are required by the state of Virginia to strictly follow the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) curriculum. This includes set timelines and skill assessments, which are in place to ensure the safety of all students. That said, our team genuinely strives to support each rider at their individual comfort and skill level. Unfortunately, in some cases, a student may require more one-on-one instruction than we’re able to provide within the program’s structure and schedule.
We never want a student to feel discouraged or unsupported, and we regret that you left the course feeling this way. Your feedback will be shared with our team so we can continue to improve how we communicate course expectations and better support students who may need additional assistance.
We wish you the best in your riding journey and encourage you not to give up—sometimes a bit more personalized instruction can make all the difference.
Fantastic experience: I recently completed my motorcycle license training at Power Ride University, and I have to say—it was an absolutely amazing experience! I’ve been riding bikes for over 20 years back home, but I had never experienced this level of professional training before. The instructors, especially Ferron harris & Rodney wells The chocolate smoothie Man , were outstanding. Their guidance, patience, and deep knowledge of motorcycle safety and techniques truly set this course apart. I learned so many new methods and safety practices that I had never applied before. Honestly, some of the techniques seemed intimidating at first, and I would have never tried them without the support and encouragement of such skilled trainers. Thanks to Power University, I now feel more confident, safe, and in full control when I ride. I highly recommend this training to anyone—whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned rider like me. It’s a game-changer!
 Hi Jibs,
Thank you so much for the 5-star review! We're truly grateful to have Ferron and Rodney on our RiderCoach team—they’re passionate about what they do, and we're glad they could share their knowledge with you and your classmates.
Fantastic experience: Coach Nic and Ferron and even the two ladies will get you where you need to be. They did an awesome job this weekend!
Jervan, Thank you so much for the 5-star review! We're thrilled to hear you had a great experience with Coach Nic, Ferron, and our amazing team—including the ladies who help keep everything running smoothly. It means a lot to know we helped you get where you needed to be. Hope to see you again soon!
Fantastic experience: My instructors were Wayne pope, Kevin and Phil. They were all amazing. I gained a lot of confidence and I feel a lot better about being on the road. Thank you all for helping me!
Daniel, Thank you for your kind words! We're pleased to hear that you had a positive experience at PowerRide University. Your feedback encourages us to continue delivering high-quality education.
Fantastic experience: Phil,Phil,Phil,Phil,Phil. Phil was absolutely amazing!!! So patient and helpful.
 Hi Brendan,
Thank you for your kind words! We’re so glad to hear that Phil made such a positive impact on your experience. He’s truly a fantastic instructor, and we’re lucky to have him on the team. Your feedback means a lot to us!
We hope you had a great time during the course, and if you ever need anything in the future, don’t hesitate to reach out.
Ride safe,
The PowerRide Team ️
Fantastic experience: Phil was my instructor for my class. Very knowledgeable, experienced and technical instructor. He made the class enjoyable, understand, and most all fun. 10/10 would recommend Phil to all my friends who are beginner riders.
Timothy, Thank you for the positive review! We're thrilled to know that you had a positive experience at PowerRide University with our Rider Coach Phil. Your success is our success.
Fantastic experience: The class was well done. Phil was my instructor and the experience, wisdom, and training he provided was beyond words in the best way possible. If I could give him specifically 5 stars I would. The class was well handled and well established. The training, instructions and and wisdom imparted onto me will forever be remembered.Thank you truly.
Jessica, So glad to hear your enjoyed the course. We have worked hard to select coaches that work with students. We believe a positive experience is just as important as the training we provide. Thank you for taking the time to provide the positive feedback. I will make sure to share with the coaches. Your review will truly make Phil's day!
Fantastic experience: Class completed week of of 9/7-9/8. Can't thank my teachers enough after this weekend. Coming into this class with minimal knowledge and skill I was able to walk away comfortable enough to practice on my own in a controlled environment. The coaches were attentive even with a class full of new riders and were able to explain everything well enough to feel comfortable riding into the next exercise. Tracked skill progression was great to see, you could get a visual for your improvement looking at how you scored yourself in different areas and the amount of knowledge fit into each class was surprising but not overwhelming. If you're new to riding or looking to develop better/safer practices I would absolutely sign up for a nice weekend.
Cary, Your positive words are greatly appreciated! We're glad to hear that you had a positive experience at PowerRide University. Thank you for being a part of our community.
Fantastic experience: It was a great experience with Nick and Ralph. They are very knowledgeable, helpful and calm instructors. Thank You Sir for your patience and great tips. Very convenient location in Woodbridge. Thank you again
Mr. Ze, Your positive experience is what we strive for! We're grateful for your support and delighted to have you as part of the PowerRide University family.
Fantastic experience: Awesome, down to earth people! No show offs nor criticism towards less skilled riders. Very knowledgeable and helpful. I came for a short version because I’ve been riding before and just needed my endorsement. At the end, I learned a something new and successfully passed the test. They also offer advanced rider course and from what I saw, i believe it would be worth the money.
Gary, Welcome to the riding family. Thank you for taking the time to provide this feedback. We are so happy you enjoyed the course and you feel prepared for the open road. We wish you many, many happy miles of riding!
Negative experience: The customer service I received was subpar. The representatives I spoke with over the phone were discourteous and impolite. In the field for the test, I was required to pass four tests to pass the exam. Due to stress, I was unable to complete one of the tests, and the coaches refused to allow me to retake it. However, they did allow other individuals to retake different tests. Additionally, I was informed that I would need to return to the office and pay again for a retest. Today, I arrived at the location as instructed at 10:30 AM, expecting to have time to warm up on the motorcycle, as I am not familiar with riding a different bike. However, after waiting for approximately two hours, at 12:15 PM, I was finally allowed to ride. After riding for only two minutes, the coaches informed me that there was not enough time for me to warm up properly and that another class needed to begin immediately. They expressed doubt that I would be able to pass the test if I attempted it under these circumstances. Consequently, they denied my use of the bike, stating that a retest would be a waste of time and that I may not be suited for riding. I am perplexed as to how others have had positive experiences with this establishment, as my own experience has left me with a profound dislike for motorcycles. I will not be seeking their services again, as their demeanor changed drastically once payment was received.
Amin, Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear that your experience with us did not meet your expectations. We understand that you’ve already spoken with our team, and while we attempted to clarify the policies and procedures at that time, we regret that the outcome was disappointing for you.
Our top priority is always student safety and fairness. While we strive to support every rider through the learning and testing process, there are times when retests or rescheduling are required to ensure a student is ready to ride safely. These decisions are never made lightly and are based on consistent standards across all classes.
We recognize that this experience was frustrating, and we're genuinely sorry to hear it affected your interest in riding. We appreciate you taking the time to share your perspective and wish you the very best in whatever path you choose going forward.
Sincerely,
The PowerRide University Team
Fantastic experience: PowerRide University is the largest and finest provider of two wheel (2W) and three wheel (3W) instruction in the area.
Larry, Your positive feedback means the world to us! We're thrilled that you had a great experience at PowerRide University. Thank you for choosing us for your educational journey.
Fantastic experience: Recently just taken a course with PowerRide university. I failed the skills test, and I understand I made mistakes. I took a retest the following week and did so much better! I would like to thank coach JJ, he did a great job of assisting and working with us
Bradley, I am sorry that you were not able to pass the course on the first try. The state does have strict guidelines that we must follow in regards to the testing. Our program manger will speak with the coach and discuss your concerns. It does sound like you are a candidate for our retake option as well. Our goal is for everyone to have a safe and fun experience but also to make sure that you are properly prepared to ride. Sometimes people need just a bit more time. We do not charge students the full rate to take the course again. You have many options. Please call us to discuss them. Thank you, I promise we will get you riding.
Fantastic experience: It was a great experience with Nic and Jessica. Just finished my test today. And the test isn’t that hard only if you pay attention and learn your friction zone, also watch everyone before you during each task. That helps out a lot.
Patrick, Glad you had a positive experience and thanks for the tips for other students. Enjoy riding!
Negative experience: The motorcycles they have will not pass a state inspection. The bikes have been dropped with bent foot clutches, lights broken hanging by the wire. Not to mention you can't bring your own bike that you are going to ride. Not a beginner course AT ALL! If you get the only cruiser there, it's so old that you have to sit there and warm it up while everyone else is practicing their friction point warm-ups. Example after it's warmed up and you try to practice your friction point; it just stalls and dies. The mall location has badly faded lines and might I add the few cones they use aren't cones at all but their palm sized little bubbles that are faded in color. The instructor was pushed for time so he had us come in an hour earlier the second day. There is no point system so good luck getting a quick explanation on what you did wrong. What was said if I "do that again, I'll be dismissed" So let's look at this from an average Joe's perspective. Faded lines and using about 4 faded pushbuttons as cones. Do the left u-turn then do the right u-turn while seeing an open space; no boundaries just imagination. Apparently my right u-turn was too wide; not knowing that was problem, I try it again just alot slower. So I was dismissed and as he was writing me up he said I almost ran into 4 people. Who was these 4 people when it's one person at time on the course? So imagine spending almost $400 and then writing you up to spend $200 so I can retake the course. Sounds like a scam to me. If you're going to spend this money on this course for "BASIC" beginner level, you should find the course exercises like the do AT DMV, paint the small pucks the original color, and repaint the lines and bring your own cones to setup boundaries.
Hey Joe, Thank you for your input. Actually 99% of our fleet are 2023's or 2024 models. We are in the process of exchanging the 2023's now. Our goal is to replace them annually. However, we do have about 8 units total that we keep around because they are no longer made and they are the best option for people with a short inseam. None of the current model year bikes have as low of a seat height as these do. So we keep them bandaged up and running just for these certain occasions. If the bike had problems which caused you to not complete the course please reach out to the office so we can make this right. The course is a beginner course and is a National program approved by the state of Virginia. We are required to teach the class exactly to the curriculum and yes it can be a bit fast paced for some students. The little cones are for your safety. These cones allow you to run over them if you get too close. I can't speak for the instructor but we do ask that they work with each student as much as they can but if the student is a danger to himself or the other participants we must react and do what is best for everyone. Safety is our primary concern. Please feel free to reach out with us to discuss your particular situation. In the end we want to successfully teach you how to begin your motorcycle journey. We just need to do it under the guidelines of the course and curriculum we are held to.
Fantastic experience: Steve and JJ are so cool and helpful coaches. I'm happy I met the right place to get the knowledge and skills that they gave us to ride a motorcycle safely.
Munaam, We are blessed to have Steve and JJ as our Rider Coaches. We're honored by your positive review! It's fantastic to know that PowerRide University has met your expectations. Thank you for being a valued member of our community.
Fantastic experience: JJ and Wayne were great coaches! Keep in mind that if you have no experience at all you should probably not take the 2 wheel course. Only because the likelihood of you passing is very low. Coaches can’t teach experience and you need a little in order to pass the test at the end of the course. Me and 5 others out of the 12 riders passed. The other 6 that failed, I talked to, they said they had very little or no experience riding. Just my 2 cents. I’d be very unhappy if I hadn’t passed and I probably wouldn’t have without the experience I already had.
Connor thanks for the review. The course is designed to teach a lot in a short amount of time. We do have many beginners that pass successfully but even practicing on a bicycle before attending class is recommended. Every little bit helps. Keep practicing and we hope to see you on the roads.
Fantastic experience: I took a class here and originally felt not completely ready or comfortable continuing the class so I reached out to them and they set me up with a one on one rider coach to help me get the basics then I was able to practice on my own for a couple weeks. They also let me sign back up for another class when I was ready and didn’t charge me a second time. The second class I was much more ready for and the instructor Rodney, was absolutely fantastic! He explained things so well and was very patient, kind and funny throughout the classes. I was extremely happy with the whole experience and would highly recommend Power Ride University! Thank you to Rodney, Phil, Coco, and Angel for all their help and guidance!
Susan, Your positive review made our day! We're glad that you had a great experience at PowerRide University. Thank you for choosing us for your educational needs.
Fantastic experience: Sebastian and Nic are amazing instructors. They really encourage all aspects of safety. When making a mistake, they would coach us in a manner that would make certain we won't mess up on the road. I felt my confidence increase with each lesson. Well designed road skills curriculum. The E-course left a lot to be desired. It was 80% focused on two wheels, I was getting my 3 wheel license.
We're thrilled to hear about your positive experience with PowerRide University! Your success is our success, and we're proud to be a part of your educational journey. We are working with MSF on a 3 wheel e-Course hopefully we will see one in the future.
Fantastic experience: Dear Stephen N Jackson & Malik Shabezz, I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere appreciation for the exceptional instruction and guidance provided by both of you during my time at PowerRide University. From the very first day, it was clear that your professionalism, dedication, and expertise would greatly contribute to my learning experience. Your commitment to helping students like me improve our skills on the two-wheel bike is truly commendable. Your knowledge and teaching methods ensured that I not only gained a deeper understanding of the mechanics and techniques involved, but also felt a strong sense of confidence as I progressed. Throughout the duration of the course, I was consistently impressed by your attention to detail, patience, and willingness to adapt your teaching approach to cater to different learning styles. Your ability to break down complex maneuvers into manageable steps was incredibly helpful, and it's clear that you both possess a genuine passion for teaching. I also want to highlight the positive and supportive classroom environment that you fostered. Your encouragement and constructive feedback were instrumental in my growth, and I felt comfortable seeking guidance whenever I faced challenges. In conclusion, I want to express my gratitude for the invaluable lessons and experiences I gained under your tutelage. Stephen N Jackson and Malik Shabezz, your professionalism, expertise, and commitment to helping students succeed are truly commendable. I am immensely grateful for the positive impact you've had on my journey to becoming a more skilled two-wheel bike rider. Thank you once again for your dedication and exceptional teaching. Sincerely, Emilio Espinal
Gatsby, We're delighted that you had a positive experience with PowerRide University! Your satisfaction is our priority, and we're committed to providing excellent services to our students.
Negative experience: Terrible scammy company, feels like they share customer service agents with a towing company. Be ready for them to lie to your face and say “their entire system is down,” and beware of unexpected fees and credit card charges because of their lies. Trust me just go to Saddleup VA you’ll have a way better time.
 Hi Nicholas,
Thank you for your feedback. We understand that you were not satisfied with the outcome of our previous phone conversations, and we’re sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations.
While we did our best to address your concerns at the time and explain the situation, we respect your opinion and appreciate you sharing it. We remain committed to providing honest, transparent service to all of our students and continuously work to improve.
We wish you the best in your continued riding journey.
Sincerely,
The PowerRide University Team
Fantastic experience: I recently took the M3 basic rider course in Woodbridge VA and I would definitely recommend it to any new rider. Ray and Sean made the clas both informative and fun.
Steve, Thank you so much for your positive review! We're thrilled to hear that you had a great experience with PowerRide University. We appreciate your support!
Negative experience: Took the Two wheel BRC course on 08/06 at Woodbridge location, some of the guys dropped the bike, falling over the bike, one bike even doesn't wanna start after fall off, few people even stall the bike more than 3 times during the test but they still passed and I never dropped bike or stall the bike during test but the coach failed me. I am not perfect, that's why I am a new rider and went there to learn and pass the test so I can practice more. So, I believe I was not fairly evaluated by the Coach on the test and feeling like I was chosen to be failed, for some reason. I don't know why, the other riders skill were similar to my skill, I believe. I don't think this is a basic rider course (BRC) like other reviewers said here or in their facebook review page, because: 1. They are looking for experienced riders, 2. They will give you the instruction but will not give you enough time for practice, maybe 1-2 minutes of practice for each exercise and will expect you to ride like a 20 years experienced track rider. Coaches will yell at you and will try to dismiss you from the course if you are not doing it right. What is this? Is it BRC or an advanced level course? I am confused. When a person with zero experience learns how to ride a motorcycle from you, then you can call yourself a successful coach, otherwise its not. People actually go there to learn the bike from scratch and pass the test so that they can enjoy it. They don't go there to pay $359 and get discouraged by the coaches, the reason I am saying this is because two people were dismissed from the group, they were having a hard time learning the friction zone and Coaches were too impatient to teach them. What a waste of money and time, its sad! You don't need 14+ exercises, rather give them 5 exercises whatever will be on the test and spend one whole day teaching them how to ride and help them to pass the test. Those individuals will appreciate you. ***At last, I will say if you are experienced rider, then go there and have fun with 14+ exercise, otherwise don't waste your money over there expecting you will pass. If you fail, you will have to retake the whole course (pay $359 full, keep in mind). Rather, buy an used motorcycle and practice yourself which even help you to improve yourself before take the test.
Masum, I am sorry that you did not pass the course. We are required to follow the national Motorcycle Safety Foundation training program guidelines. There are very specific rules on what a student must demonstrate they have mastered within the class. This is for your safety. Some students might fall or struggle in the beginning but if in the end they can demonstrate control of the motorcycle they have learned and can progress to the next step of beginning riding. Learning the clutch and balancing can be a process and it comes easier to some than others. The coaches can only spend so much time with each individual as this is a group class and we have to try and keep on schedule. If there is anything further we can provide please let us know. You might want to consider some individual classes before trying again. Best of luck on your motorcycling journey. We wish you many happy years of safe riding.
Negative experience: This class is NOT FOR BEGINNERS! You need to have some experience riding a motorcycle or be able to drive stick shift. I did not have either so it was a big learning curve for me to locate the friction zone to become comfortable moving the bike forward in first gear. The instructors have no patience and do not know what instruction is. One of them stood there and yelled at us the entire time. The only advice they could give was, "It's like wringing out a wet towel." That may be sort of what you are doing but there is much more to that task to make that smooth transition in moving your bike forward. When I started to get better at it, I was told that I was behind since the others were on the next task and that I had to leave. This was a total waste of money and time.
Chuck, I am sorry that you did not feel the course started out at the basic level. We are required to follow the national Motorcycle Safety Foundation training program. Learning the clutch can be a process and it comes easier to some than others. The coaches can only spend so much time with each individual as this is a group class and we have to try and keep on schedule. If there is anything further we can provide please let us know. You might want to consider some individual classes before trying again. Best of luck on your motorcycling journey. We wish you many happy years of safe riding.
Fantastic experience: was an amazing experience, the instructors I had (Ben and Shawn) nicest guys ever, helped me through every step and gave very constructive feedback. Ending up acing both tests because of their outstanding teaching. HIGHLY RECOMMEND -cameron

Shukran! Glad you were able to accomplish your goal of riding a motorcycle Karim! See you out on the road!
Fantastic experience: I finished my class today and I am through the roof excited! My instructors were ‘Not Ray’ and ‘Not Sean’ lol. For me, they made the class so comfortable, fun and non intimidating. They took their time, they were patient, and super supportive and encouraging. You can tell when someone does what they love to do, and these two are a Dynamic Duo, and an awesome asset to the PowerRide Team! The classroom experience was fun, and made to feel short and sweet. I feel a lot more comfortable with maneuvering the bike after this class. I learned things that hadn’t crossed my mind and I look forward to taking the advance class next on my own bike. This weekend, for me, was an adrenaline rush in a safe zone, for sure. All I can say is stretch before your classes, keep your head up, eyes up, look where you’re going and your bike will follow …. Oh, and #15 is D. Thank you PowerRide, Sean and Ray for the opportunity, the boost in confidence and the amazing instruction!
Jamie, Thanks for the 5-star review, those two are quite the characters who have a passion for riding and teaching. We are glad you had a good time learning and we can't wait to see you on the road!
Fantastic experience: Great people, and great instruction! I took a beginner private lesson with James, and after only 2 hours I felt so much more comfortable on the bike and was able to do maneuvers and exercises I thought would take much longer to learn! I highly recommend PowerRide University to anyone interested in learning how to ride.
Welcome to the riding family. Thank you for taking the time to provide this feedback. We are so happy you enjoyed the course and you feel prepared for the open road. We wish you many, many happy miles of riding!
