Fantastic experience: Stopped in on a visit with a shipmate, super cool. The two ladies in the clothing are were a big help. One of them hooked me up with the HD app and showed me how to get the best out of it, my local joint never mentioned it. Except to have fun, neither if the ladies held back on the back and forth banter. Had a blast.

Fantastic experience: Had a warranty problem with my new Harley Davidson. They tried there best to fix it but couldn't find the part within 200 miles. I was passing through on my vacation so I didn't have time to sit and wait for a part to show. They did what they could and I was on my way and limbed it home.

Fantastic experience: I am on a bike trip from Moncton, NB Canada to Cape Cod and heard a weird noise coming from the primary on my 2017 Sportster 48. Stopped by Big Moose Harley Davidson and the staff were super nice and helpful. I don’t have the name of the gentleman who helped me but he’s tall with a big beard. He gave his diagnostic and pulled the bike right in the garage and found the issue and fixed it on the spot. Super grateful! I can now continue my ride at ease. THANK YOU!

Fantastic experience: Today, June 4th, 2024, I had the pleasure of doing business with Big Moose HD located in Portland, Maine. They have earned my trust and respect this afternoon. There are HD dealerships closer to my residence. I will not be using local dealerships unless, for some reason, I don't have any other choice. Not that they did something wrong, but Big Moose staff seems to be head and shoulders above many dealerships I have used in the past.

Fantastic experience: I would definitely recommend Big Moose to anyone shopping for a Harley. Great bunch of people. My only real disappointment was shopping their apparel side of the store. I’m a big guy (fluffy) and they had only one shirt on the clearance rack that was my size. I’ve seen many guys bigger than me wearing HD apparel and can’t imagine where they bought theirs.

Fantastic experience: We purchased a new Indian Chief Bobber and a Roadmaster in Augusta last year and it has been nothing but a disappointment. Our salesman Paul Fish was great and quite frankly should be in charge of the place. However, due to the dealers lack of parts follow through(no one calls back and you feel forgotten), poor service, and a genuine lack of concern by the owner for changing the dealerships image and commitment to the Indian brand, coupled with the fact that Augusta is the only Indian Dealer is why Indian will never come close to Harley -Davidson. Additionally, there is no social network set up by the dealer for being an Indian owner. You have no functions or activities that bond the brand. Anyway enough about that dealer as we have moved on and want you to know where to buy your Harley. It is a complete different experience purchasing at Big Moose. We purchased a new 2022 Harley Ultra Limited. The purchase was fair. While no one ever remembers what you paid, we all simply want to be taken care of and feel special after the sale. The sales manager Carlos understands this and ensured we knew all about what is offered after the sale. While our Sales person AJ was courteous, Carlos is the real reason we purchased at Big Moose. Everyone at Big Moose Harley is friendly and cares about you the customer after the sale. Not just to make the sale but to ensure you will be happy after the sale. They offer service(even on Saturday!) Winter storage, social events, and truly take to heart that when they say"welcome to the Family", they mean it. The service staff Trevor was amazing as we spoke to a mechanic who knew everything we asked about the bike. This gives real confidence in us servicing the bike there. Today we actually attended an event at Big Moose. While a subway sandwich and a soda may not sound like much, it is that feeling of being part of something bigger than a classic name. There is no substitute for a Harley and if you want a great experience we encourage everyone to buy at Big Moose Harley in Portland. Scott Poulin

Negative experience: The sales people are highly deceptive and dishonest. I would not recommend buying a motorcycle here. I noticed damage all over a basically new used bike a few days after I got it home. Unfortunately, I couldn't do anything about it because they waived their "mandatory" bike inspection that they apparently perform on all motorcycles before they leave the lot (the inspections aren't free). They acted like they were doing me a huge favor when in reality, they were tricking me into signing away my right to do anything about it when I found the damage. I had even asked about the clutch lever because it seemed like it might have been bent and they assured me that it wasn't. I honestly feel like a moron for not checking the bike over more carefully. Fortunately, it was mostly stuff I wanted to replace anyway. It's just frustrating when people take advantage of you, which is exactly what happened here. They even said, "Welcome to the family!" before I drove away. Horrible people.

Fantastic experience: I want to thank the whole staff at Big Moose Harley Davidson, traveling from Texas the bike started to idle erratically. Took the bike to big moose when I arrived in Maine and they put it on the lift to diagnose the issue. The bikes intake was warped and needed replacing. I asked requesting the Screaming Eagle intake vs the plastic replacement. They called and sourced a screaming eagle intake over an hour away. The dealership traveled over an hour to pick it up. Bike was up and running the same day. I picked the bike up the next day, Big Moose HD gave the bike a once over, fixed a recall and washed the bike. Everyone I encountered was professional and friendly. I can’t recommend this place enough. Thank you for taking care of me while on the road. Vr Steve

Positive experience: We RODE from Michigan for The 100th Anniversary of the Laconia Bike Week and this place was CLOSED DIDN'T WANT ANY MORE INCOME FROM OUT IF OF STATE SALES Many other Dealerships made hours of operation changes. HO WELL THEIR LOSS!!! Hope I'll be able to purchase something from them showing the 100th Anniversary. Also did not know about the Sunday law in Maine, Mondays are normally closed in Michigan too except for special events....

Negative experience: One year later...still no call from anyone at the dealership, after being told I would receive a call back. So, not only did they do over $700 of extra work, without ever checking with me...they also chipped the paint on my fender (yes, they took a picture of the bike before it was dropped off, no broken paint!) and now, nobody is calling me back. Very poor service! Sadly, my family had shopped here for decades, while Steve still owned it. Sad to see them going down hill.

Negative experience: My first time at big moose harley davidson OB was awesome but the lady in motor clothes was extremely rude i purchased a $500 leather jacket and asked for the hanger and she gave a major attitude and said I am not arguing over a hanger not a good way to treat a customer won't be back

Fantastic experience: I cannot say enough wonderful things about this dealership. I was on a long distance ride and realized that I needed oil, I stopped at this dealership and as I walked in one of the sales guys was so nice friendly and helpful, he brought me right over to service and the service manager came right outside and took my bike in immediately and within five minutes it was fixed. The sales guy came over again to make sure everything was fixed and I was good to go. The service manager was so knowledgeable and kind, along with everyone else that I came into contact with in my short visit! Thank you again!

Fantastic experience: I was in Maine for a graduation and stopped at Big Moose to have a look around. It was a fantastic visit. All of the employees were very helpful and knowledgeable. I would have liked to look around more but I had to catch my plane home. I did have time to get a t-shirt and challenge coins though. Next visit to Maine I will make sure to visit here first!

Fantastic experience: I want to say I was beyond happy with the purchasing process. First of all I love the no pressure and they take their time to thoroughly explain any questions you have in a very experienced and professional manner. They took me around to all the different departments of their store and all was incredible employees, you could tell all know very well what the specialized in. Thank you all for the experience!!! Negative experience: People were nice they had some nice bikes, I went in look for a used Electra glide or road glide. I looked at 2 very nice bikes but didn't really feel the need to purchase being 4 hours from home. When I was getting ready to leave the salesman said let me show you one more bike, we went and looked at the bike and this one definitely made me think about buying that far away from home, the salesman said it was $13,999. I said I'm gonna go to luck to think about it, and decide to go back. The finance person comes out and now the price is $14,999 plus a bunch of fees bringing it almost $16k no thanks! I wouldn't even have went back after lunch if I had been told the bikes price was $14,999. Live and learn I guess.

Negative experience: Was excited for 8 months to travel from Arizona to Portland maine, only to find when I got to Big Moose Harley, to buy a t shirt, which I do in every state I visit, they had only about 10 shirts, all size men's small, how many Harley riders wear a small?? Really disappointed, they also had no doo rags, or sweatshirts. For a tourist town, this was by far the worst shop I've ever visited.
Wow, Michael, what you're missing here is that there's a pandemic that is delaying shipping on items in all areas of retail, even in our products. We're really sorry that we didn't have what you were looking for but we also do ask for some understanding as to what is going in in the world right now.
Fantastic experience: I brought my 18 RGS IN TO BE TUNED AFTER MY UPGRADE TO STAGE 2 WITH A 475 S&S CAM, LIFTER ,OIL PUMP. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT WAS AWESOME.JAY IN SERVICE GAVE ME ALL THE OPTIONS AND STEERED ME IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION. BIKE RUNS AWESOME I EVEN SOLD THEM MY SON'S 15 IRON 883. Negative experience: Buying my motorcycle was a great experience and mark greets me very courteously and catches up every time I come into the show room that is a 5 star my 1 star goes to the service department, my fat bob I bought acouple months ago has now been in the service department for 2 weeks with multiple parts ordered and no turn around time, for a fuel leak that was diagnosed as a check valve issue. There is no communication what so ever when I do call the woman from the service department is rude tells me MORE parts have been ordered and the turn around time is pushed ANOTHER 3 days. I am extremely unhappy some servicing should of been done to this bike before purchase and now I’m stuck with no motorcycle with end of the season so close and hundreds of dollars in repairs for a motorcycle I just bought and barely have had time to ride

They talk with you about your test rides as far what you liked or didn't like about a bike so they will know more about what to show you that will work for you. They really make the motorcycle buying experience a fun, and exciting.
