Fantastic experience: If you want to get the Motorcycle License, do it the easy way! Please go to Motorcycle Riding Center at West Orange and the rest will be made simple for you. Right from how to mount on a bike, to start the bike, learn how to use the clutch, brakes, gear shift etc., is explained to you and demonstrated to you in easy to follow approach. I was a part of a group and still individual attention was provided by the Riding coaches Alex, Bobby, and Joe. I strongly recommend to anyone trying to learn to ride a motorcycle/obtain an endorsement. If you follow the instructions attentively when you practice the maneuvers, it will be easy to ace the written test and the final skill test. At the end of the 2nd day you will be able to walk out confidently with the paper work required for the endorsements.

Negative experience: This is a very honest review, and whether you see it as negative or positive is up to you, but it comes from someone with no prior experience with motorcycles. Please be aware that their basic course may NOT be suited for complete beginners especially the fact everyone learns different. I had no prior knowledge and ended up dropping my bike once, as did another female did. But They let her slide weird. Additionally, I had issues with my clutching , and they let me leave early (which is understandable given my lack of experience, but confusing since it’s supposed to be a BASIC rider course). I believe it would have been helpful if they had indicated that you should be comfortable on a motorcycle before attending the course. The instructors were friendly and supportive, but I found it funny to pay an additional $75 for a lesson after being escorted out within 2 hours, considering the class runs from 12-6. I suggest getting some practice from a professional or a knowledgeable friend before taking the course to better prepare yourself for the licensing process. I won’t comment on the owner—just read the reviews. I won’t return for a private lesson; that's why I paid over $300 thinking it was a beginner lesson , money is wasted on a useless 2 hours basically. If you have a friend who rides, make sure they teach you first before picking the basic rider class. The owner will respond back to this review which I don’t care because this is why there reviews exist to actually review how it went from your own experience. Respond back to the”manager “ … Thanks for the update miss Manager! I guess my motorcycle skills were more ‘spin cycle’ than ‘smooth operator.’ I appreciate the concern for my safety it’s always nice to know you’re looking out for me, even if it means I got a front-row seat to a dramatic crash course in ‘how not to ride.’ I’ll keep the private lessons in mind next time I’m feeling like a stunt double. Fantastic experience: Very helpful staff to deal with, the instructors know exactly what they doing, they make sure you understand everything you need to know in the course. Just have to make sure you pay attention and are able to follow directions and you will make it to the end of the course and be able to be confident at taking the final test, will pass and walk out with your license upon completion. Fantastic experience: I just completed the Basic Rider Course yesterday with Don and Irene and let me tell you, those people are impeccable instructors. They take the time to not only explain what the book says, but they also get on a bike and show you EXACTLY what to do…even down to being stationary and showing your how to manipulate your hands and feet. They don’t just tell you what to do and throw you out there and expect you to figure it out. I left the class with the knowledge and confidence that I will be able to do what I can to be the safest rider out on the road. Shout out to Alex also who I was able to meet. Him, Don and Irene don’t take themselves seriously, but they take the class seriously. Their sense of humor and knowledge make the learning experience important but sprinkled with some comedy. I would DEFINITELY recommend MRC to my friends and family. It’s worth every penny.

Negative experience: SCAM ALERT! Do not purchase a course from them. PS: edited the review to completely go over the points addressed by the business’ response. I purchased a course from them as a gift to my husband. He already kneos how to ride from his home country but it has been awhile and he needed an endorsement here. To be able to purchase you need to pick a date. I picked one to the best of my knowledge of his schedule. The courses were also booked for over a month. As it was a gift I made sure to put my information on the billing details and then his information under ticket holder (attached picture). They asked for his info with regards to email, phone, etc and also mentioned that he would get an email with the details as there is an online portion for the class. Upon purchase I did receive a confirmation email with the date but that was part of the receipt! I obviously wouldnt forward that to him as this was a gift and the receipt included the cost ($400). They also sent me some info about the online course which I did forward to him just in case but the email body does not have the class timing. When I mentioned to him the gift I obviously mentioned the date. But also explained that they had his info and would send him an email. And that it was far out due to dates being booked. I guess his mistake was to keep on waiting for such email that never arrived. Additionally, the date wouldnt have worked because so much time passed that he had a conflict. Well, the day came and I was working. I eventually realized my husband was home and had missed the start time. He said he never gotten an email or anything so he didnt know that was the day. He called and they insisted they texted. I said they didnt and when we asked for the number they had the wrong number for myself (billing). They were very rude over the phone and never addressed why they texted me and not him as his info was on the ticket holder. Then she said that regardless he knew the date as he bought it. I tried to explain that he didnt because it was a gift and they only put the dates on the receipt. She said I was interrupting and kept threatening to hang up. They offered for him to either loose his money (again not underatanding that it was a gift), pay again $400, or to go there daily until someone else misses their class! This is absolutely ridiculous. There was a mistake on our part that he trusted they would contact him, but its their mistake to have never used his info, even though they explicitly asked for it! We wont give them another $400 for something that is already paid and going there daily is absurd for anyone who has a family and little kids to care for. We asked them for him to attend the second day. Our thinking was that since he already knows how to ride, he would do the practice lessons as a refresher and then we would go to the dmv just for a road test. We werent interested in getting the endorsement at the end as that is against the rules. But once again they refused! There is no reason to refuse to allow someone into a class they paid for, they can just not issue the license as he would not have fulfilled the entire requirement! This is why for me this is at a minimum not trying to work with us at all, specially since they are in the wrong for not contacting him. And them knowing that someone else will miss it too makes me think it happens more often than they would like to admit and is 100% sketchy/scam!

Fantastic experience: Great riding school. Rick and George are amazing instructors. We had fun and instructions were clear. Every progressed step by step and a felt thoroughly prepared. I also had a chance to train with Andres and Snax. They were really cool too. Great, clear, and fun instructions.

Fantastic experience: Great instructors, and super helpful guides into beginner riders. The exercises do get difficult as the class progresses, but as long as you pay attention to the directions and ask questions, you are in good hands with these guys- especially Alex, Snax and Pete. Alex especially is super helpful when you're really struggling with something, offering advice, and giving you descriptive metaphors to help your riding.

Fantastic experience: They did it, we did it. They taught, we learned. It's ok to be humbled. And save Snax and company some hassle... Listen and follow instructions the first time! Great class, right pace and remember: this is the first step. Be honest with your self assessment. You likely will have to keep practicing on your own before you truly go out on the road.

Fantastic experience: Honestly what an experience came into this course with absolutely no bike experience and in just 2 days learn how to operate a motorcycle, control the motorcycle. All thanks to my 2 coaches, Janet and Bob. Great people honestly, they have a lot of patience with us new riders, and corrected every thing we did wrong and helped as much as possible. Great coaches!!

A member of our class was unable to complete the course the first time but the people at motorcycle riding centers were understanding and able to help them figure out their next steps to eventually get their license. If you’re a first time rider I highly recommend this school and if you’re lucky enough to have Janet or Bobby teaching you even better.

Fantastic experience: Great class, great setup, I’ve never ridden a motorcycle before, and by the end I felt more than comfortable riding. George and Pete were great instructors very knowledgeable, and constructive in their teaching style, really helped me understand why I was struggling with certain aspects of the course which helped me to improve, and ultimately pass the course.

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience learning to ride. Safety is always first here. Snax and Christie were both patient, and very comfortable to learn with. I am blessed to have had them today in West Orange. I felt comfortable asking as many questions as I needed to. They never ever made me feel bad. If I needed to do something they explained well and made sure I completely understood. It definitely felt better having instructors I felt super comfortable with talking too.
