Tomco Driving School: Reviews
Negative experience: This company is just a bad business and very unprofessional.
Negative experience: this company scammed me n my son we paid 300$cash in july and no services were ever provided . I reported them to better business bureau and to dmv !!!!day of driving lessons the office was closed.. these ladies are rude and turned off all phone lines ... they did not provide driving lessons they closed there offices with no notice and did not contact students.. many people have got scammed by these ladies !! do not trust tomco driving schools!!!
Negative experience: My son took the online learning. Paid for the behind the wheel. No answer suddenly voice box was full. Finally got tired of no information. Went to the office found a cell phone number whitten on the door. Called multiple times left voicemails text messages. Finally got a text back saying we are not taking in new students. In the process of closing business. Messages back saying we are not new customers already paid for the lessons. Then ghosted. No response given no reply at all. They just took the money and ran. I hope they read this and want to meet up. I will definitely handle them in person.
Negative experience: Be very cautious of this place. I’m was handed a contract that was later referred to as a “form” which didn’t match a digital “contract” we reviewed on a computer monitor. When I asked for a copy of the contract I was told it could only be provided after I sent an email. Digital contract included many $30+ “fees” for being late, no showing, or if the instructor at any time “felt” unsafe. I walked away after reviewing a section regarding a $1000 fine for leaving a bad review naming either of the two people by name? An absurd request. Overall one of the least professional establishments I’ve ever dealt with. Their new student intake process included filling out an index card with personal information, not even a printed form. The printed form that I was provided to me was so blurry it was almost illegible.
Fantastic experience: My experience with Tomco was amazing, great communication, and each one of my drives was a comfortable experience. Each time I drove with an instructor, I learned about what I could improve on, and there would be noticeable improvement on my end. Tomco has my highest recommendations edit: i passed my behind the wheel test with 1 error
Negative experience: Seemed legit at first but then as my daughter started her "training" it was a different story. Trainer(s) are rude and inconsistent. Pick up times are driven by their convenience and if they change times one you it's ok but if you change times on them, even because they couldn't be there at their scheduled time, then you are hit with a "no show" and they will leave and count it as one of your drive days. Very unprofessional! I don't have any clue how they are still open . I've never heard a positive thing about them. My daughter talked me in to letting her go there because one of her friends went there too. Needless to say the other parent opted to pull their kid out and take the cost as a loss...........I should've done the same. If 0 stats was an option it would've been the first time I would've used it.
Negative experience: My mom signed up for classes with Michelle as the instructor . Michelle is nice . . The lady Jen who answers the phones refused to sign me up for another class I called after my 1st class rude remarks were always made when dealing with Jen. Nightmare experience I had to call for other schools just to schedule
Negative experience: Called in to ask a question closing time states 6pm called at 4:50pm and got told that they open at 10am and to have a good day as they proceeded to hang up the phone
Negative experience: Bad driving school. Spend the extra money by signing up for AAA and use their driving school!
Negative experience: It use to be a good driving school. All my girls went here and it was great, don't know if they got bought out or just don't care to have business anymore but no one ever answers the phones or returns call nor does the office ever stay open to enroll my son. Guess I will be taking him somewhere else :(
Negative experience: BEWARE of this driving school. There is a reason why if not BOTH… at least one of the owners as of public record have been arrested for THEFT!!! There is a reason! They are quick to take your money but refuse to render quality customer service!!!! You can NEVER get through to the office BUT they will charge you any chance they get. If it’s not one thing it’s ANOTHER!!! Unknown extra charges you will not know of until it comes to getting the completion certificate. Save yourself the time , MONEY, and aggravation. If you decide to take the chance…. At least check ,then double check your appointment times because even though they have been confirmed BY THE FEMALE OWNER it will be found the times are always different in order for you to be charged of missed appointment!!! Good luck
Negative experience: As a past student, they never would answer our calls and at one point I think they where just straight up ignoring us. Their online site for the schooling was outdated and wouldn’t work, so when I went in about the problem (because they would never answer the phone) I took the test on their computer and it all of a sudden worked . I also never got feedback on my driving and had to ask for feedback on how I was doing and I got told, “you’re doing good focus on the small things”. What is that supposed to mean?
Negative experience: My daughter took the driving part. No communication as how to drive. I understand parent needs to practice, but she was thrown on Main street during a very busy time. No direction given during the driving time. Go somewhere else......
Sorry you f er lt that way. But yes we drive in traffic. Not just residential streets. We always give communication on how to drive.
Negative experience: Promises a refund but then tells you later that they don't refund
Sorry never promised a refund.
Negative experience: I didn’t get any tips or advice on how I was doing for most of the drives. The staff was nice but sometimes could be sound condescending on the phone. When I took my test I passed but a lot of the things they said I would fail because of was just wrong. Overall wouldn’t recommend, you get what you pay for.
Negative experience: I had same bad experience as others this guy reschedules and didn’t give my brother his driving lessons . We lost money and he rendered no services
Fantastic experience: very patient with me, flexible hours that worked around my schedule
Negative experience: They keep rescheduling my sons driving appointments and on top of that the man who returned my phone call refuses to coordinate with parents . He said he is trying to make the minor student driver responsible. That’s not his job his job is to teach them to drive . The guy at Tomco driving school also mentioned several times he did my son a favor by skipping the driving review. I told him he’s not doing us a favor because we paid up front . Favors are free !! Anyways this man at Tomco driving school said google reviews don’t make or break his business so I am writing a review and on top of that I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and filed a complaint on the practice of not dealing with the paying parents . I advise anyone reading this that is not happy with Tomcos policies to please go ahead and file a complaint also with the Better Business Bureau . If this man at Tomco doesn’t think google reviews affect his business then I’m sure the BBB will .And by the way I read other comments and this man is very very condescending and arrogant . I hope people read this review before going to his school .
Negative experience: WE PAID FOR SIX HOURS , AND HE NEVER FINISHED THE DRIVING WE GOT AN ARGUMENT FOR THE DELAY AND HE DISRECPECFULLY ,RUDELY ,SAID I WONT FINISH.. HE MAKE YOU PAY WITH PAYPAL AND HE KNOW THAT IS IMPOSIBLE TO GET YOPUR MONEY BACK ....HE4 DIDNT REFUND THE MONEY AND DIDNT DO THE DRIVING HOUR ..THEY ARE CROOKED AND VER RUDE DON GO THERE
Negative experience: Not Satisfied, Disrespectful and outdated videos, GAVE MY WIFE THE WRONG ANSWERS AND MADE FUN OF HER FOR NOT KNOWING AN ANSWER THAT SHOUDLVE BEEN "EASY"
Negative experience: Owner was condescending and rude. Customer service is awful. Would not recommend.
Negative experience: Don’t !!!! Go there !!!!!!! Bad , terrible , unprofessional, rude, non refundable , Money desperate, the worst experience for me and my son he never accomplished and didn’t honor to provided the service after he got paid .....he even told me that he is a law enforcement trying to threat me about it ....Bad, Bad Bad experience
Fantastic experience: I really recommend this driving school! Jen has helped me learn to drive and I passed my behind the wheel driving test on my first try!
Fantastic experience: Great guy very fun my kid loved the drive.
Fantastic experience: Great experiance here. I took my drivers ed classes here and couple years later had to do traffic school lol also have had many famaly members go here. 10/10
Negative experience: Terrible experience they didn't teach me anything and they were rude people wasted 250 dollars and didn't learn anything do not go to this place!! 0 out of 5 stars!! Also while I was supposed to be getting taught how to drive the lady was instead talking to another student about trump!! Also didn't like that I had to drive with two other people in the car and didn't get my full time
Negative experience: If I could rate this driving school 0 stars I would. Customer service is SO BAD! The lady who helped us (The owner ) was SO RUDE! We went to Tomco on 11-10-17 to sign up my son for driving lessons. The more we asked questions the more she seemed to get more angry. And she wants us to pay in cash right away! This place is also so untidy! Because of her bad attitude toward us and racism we end up leaving and did not register my son. All the review I have read online is true so take your business some where else. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILDREN TO TOMCO. They don't treat you the customer good.
Fantastic experience: I attended Tomco Traffic School early this year and was very happy with my experience. Tom was very informative and made my time just fly by with his great sense of humor. Going to Tomco Traffic school was so worth it and if I had to do traffic school again I would absolutely go back to Tomco. My husband will be seeing you very soon Tom...he got a ticket for speeding on Hwy 18 (bummer) but at least he'll have a great time at Tomco!
Thank you so much stay safe.
Negative experience: DO NOT go here! The staff was nice but I didn't learn anything the 4 times that I drove with them. We just drove around for 2 hours and the only thing they ever told me was if I forgot to use my blinker. They didn't even teach me something as simple as what an unprotected turn was. And the final thing that bugged me was that i drove with 2 other kids in the car.
Fantastic experience: My daughter went through this school, had a great experience. She got her license on the first try. Just signed up my next daughter in line. Staff is very friendly. Will recommend to anyone.
Fantastic experience: Better than the other ones i called. Was nice on the phone & gave me helpful info.
Negative experience: YUCK The Worst School EVER !! Dirty Office and the Owner Is RUDE
Yeah cause u work for Dunn Rite.
Fantastic experience: Went in for driving lessons. Instructor was very helpful and informative, he was able to answer all the questions that I had, and I feel like I learned a lot from the session. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.
Negative experience: They made me drive with there 3 year old in the backseat. Didn't learn squat
Negative experience: dont decommend. They just ripped me of for 100 dollars for absoultely no minutes behind the wheel.
