Negative experience: Hello i am writing a review because i have had 2 horrible encounters at this school. I went to take my road test on Friday, April 11th and Thursday April 24th and i failed almost immediately both time, was yelled at and had the wheel yanked out of my control. After reading multiple reviews with the same experience and being stopped at the same residential intersection by the SAME instructor.. I chose this driving school because i though it was great that they offered the road test to all even if you are not one of their students and they provide a car which the DMV does not offer and being a college student with no car and having experience driving this was convenient or so i thought even though it was way more expensive than going to the DMV thinking back now i wish i would saved my time and money. The instructor i had both times ( i don’t know his name but he is a large white man) seemed irritated both times, passive aggressive, when i got to the intersection yelled at me to go despite cars coming and when i frantically did he grabbed the wheel and took over. this happened both times. I ofc will not be back but i truly do not advice anyone come here maybe it’s different for their actual students but i've seen multiple reviews with the same thing experience and thought i should share a recent experience! 0/10 I also want to say i completely understand the importance and seriousness of driving, you are not only putting others at risk but also yourself but yelling and yanking the wheel out of someone’s hand and yelling at them to go while waiting for cars to pass in a intersection is something you wouldn’t even do to a driver with 15+ years of experience! it’s important to remember these people that are taking this road test are already nervous as hell no need to try and go out your way to be intimidating.

Fantastic experience: I read all the comments and decided to us them for my kids driving test. The lady at the front desk is the real deal. The instructor is all about business. I can appreciate that.The comments below do not do him justice. He was good guy. I would recommend this place.

Fantastic experience: I don't know why the people who failed are upset. Just accept and move on. Learn from what the examiner told you, and improve. They're not just gonns pass you if your a danger in driving. They were kind and understanding. My friend failed, but at the same time understood what she needs to work on. So to all those that failed. It's a part of life, no excuses should be made. Listen, learn and improve. The negative comments made me laugh.

Fantastic experience: If you are reading any of these silly lower than 4 star reviews please note that none of those characters I came to in my time at Denton driving school except for the nice lady behind the counter that part is very much true. I have always had driving anxiety I would laugh and call myself SpongeBob because I was kicked out of my last driving school, and then just never wanted to drive again. However, we live in Texas I needed a liscence for a job I was getting and explained to the lady behind the desk, and my instructor my situation and was HONEST about my driving history and they were super understanding and willing to get what I needed done. I was super nervous as I did drive here and there since my boot of driving school, Sloan super sweet guy did a mock test and said he wouldn't help me yet he wanted to gauge what I knew (he still did because he is soooo sweet) we drove around chatted even laughed and driving with an instructor didn't feel so bad. Sloan's good attitude and passion for helping others truly shines in his instruction and I totally recommend this place for those timid drivers, you will have to put in the work on your own like I did too but if you feel like driving school hasn't been working out then you haven't been to Denton Driving School :) P.S. YA GIRL IS NOW LISCENED

Positive experience: I have called this place so many times for information and the website does not answer my question is there anybody in the office who answers the phone???

Negative experience: Driving instructor is almost always late, today Frebruary 15 they don't even show up for the driving wasting another weekend that I have to wait for another driving lesson

Fantastic experience: I recently took my driving test at Denton Driving School, and I must say, the entire process was smooth and well-organized. From the moment I arrived, everything was handled professionally, and the staff was friendly and helpful, which made the experience much less stressful. Negative experience: If I could give this 0 stars I would. Do not give your money to this place. So unprofessional and rude. If you want to go somewhere that is worth your time and money go to AC driving school.

Fantastic experience: Great experience. Our examiner Daron was calm, patient and empathetic. Perfect demeanor to be in this role. Made our new adult driver comfortable and confident. Highly recommended.

Negative experience: Denton Driving School was a waste of my money and a waste of my time, my son didn’t learn anything, they didn’t teach him how to drive they just put him behind the wheel when he had no experience and all, then told him he wasn’t ready which made my son feel worst, then made me pay $50 because my son was going to be 10 min late getting there due to him getting home from school late, when my daughter starts to learn I would not be bringing her here to this location because they suck!!! Along with the driver instructor, and also the coordinator over the Denton Driving School I tried speaking with him and he acted as if he didn’t care at all!! I wish I could have reported him along with the school. Don’t waste your time bringing your child to this location!!

Fantastic experience: Deron was great with my daughter when she took her test.

Negative experience: I went to this driving school between April 2021-Sometime in 2022. I am giving it two stars because of Mr. W as well as the sweet lady at the front desk. Mr. W was always incredibly kind and gave constructive criticism in the best ways possible. I am only giving it two stars, however, because of the other instructor there. I am not sure was his name is but he has curly hair. This man really made me afraid of driving at the beginning, he constantly yelled at me if I made a mistake and made me feel belittled. As a person who has anxiety, he really made me dread coming in for lessons— in fact the yelling only ever made me mess up more. I understand that it is frustrating to see someone make mistakes while driving that you know could leave you injured or worse, but yelling and passing over hurtful insults are just not the way to go about it— especially when working with kids, which I don’t think he should be working with. However, I finished all my lessons and practiced more at home and I got my license in August 2022. I would say do your research before coming here, that one guy (I don’t know if he still works there) may make you or your kid not want to come back.

Negative experience: Driving tests are done with one instructor who is a big guy with a booming voice. My kid was so intimidated. She said she felt like he was screaming at her the whole test. No this review isn’t just because she didn’t pass. She is literally too intimidated to even go back and do another test there. Soul crushed and he told my husband she did one thing wrong and it was an automatic fail. Her version and his do not match up and you cannot go with so it is her word against his. The truth is probably in the middle but zero stars for compassion and customer service. The lady that works at the desk was very kind, sweet, and helpful. She can have the one star they are making me give. If you have a kid that is at all nervous about their test this isn’t the school for you. I should have just burned the $75.

Negative experience: Director is more interested in eating an ice cream cone than trying to provide constructive feedback. He needs training.

Fantastic experience: Over 25 DPS Rd. test. Quick and easy. They will get you in and out. YOU CAN PRINT THERE ONLY TWO DOLLARS!

Negative experience: Woman that answered phone very rude- dismissive - act as if I was disturbing her to get info then cut me off mid sentence with the no longer perform adult driving classes - I now believe other 1 star reviews - minus 10 would be what she would get from me!

Fantastic experience: I just took my road test with them today. Very simple and easy-going process. The receptionist was very kind at the front, and they even gave me a discount on using the company vehicle. I would highly recommend them to anyone hoping to take their Driver’s Test. Sidebar: I went over the reviews previous to coming here. There’s been people claiming that the examiner is biased towards people of color. I’m a woman of color (Black), and this was not an issue whatsoever for me. They were nothing but hospitable. Ignore those reviews. It’s people who didn’t practice for the test and therefore want to scream racism at any small inconvenience to them. Shame on them.

Fantastic experience: The person who took my road test was really nice and gave me helpful tips after I finished. The whole process was pretty quick. I forgot to print out one of my documents but they nicely printed it for me for the cost of a dollar. Overall, I recommend coming here for a roadtest!

Negative experience: Director of this place doesn’t not like helping people if you ask to many questions and he sounds like he hate peoples of colors o something if u don’t want to help people just said that do not go to this place and i ask he if you don’t want to help me out just said that this

Negative experience: The male staff/ owner was very rude! Talks very reckless. Does not have any type of respect for others. Very mean, but the nice lady at the desk was very sweet. The man said I blamed in on the car which was false. I was nervous due to me not Being in the car but I understand the mistakes I DID make once the man told be. BUT! The way he said it was very rude so that’s why I told him could he say it in a nicer way. yes I was disappointed about failing the test but was not upset! Due to the fact that I knew I could take it again! The man failed to be respectful during the driving test and made me very uncomfortable. Saying remarks such as “ I don’t know Why you are so surprised” after saying I failed the test. Also saying “ I don’t want to die in this car” after I stopped the car after he told me to stop it when I failed to make a complete stop at the stop sign. I was not angered at the fact that I failed because I know I would have had another opportunity to take it again. Even after when we went back inside to reschedule I asked the lady at the desk if I could have a different person to be with me next time. Mind you I said this respectfully. He interrupted me and said “matter of fact, you can leave”. “We don’t have to take customers we don’t want” this made me feel a type of way because I just wanted to be comfortable in the next test and he would have not been the best fit for me. What angered me was his attitude, sassy Remarks and his lack of encouragement. Very rude. If you do go get a driving test I advise you to have a different person to Drive with you on the test. He was just over all unprofessional and mean..I’m not Sure if it was because of my race or he just had a bad day.‍♀️

Negative experience: Worst experience ,I payed 2 hour driving class it’s 200 dollars and the class was for only 30 mits for 1 hr class on 1st day and 2nd class was cancelled from there side before holidays now due to health reason I am canceling my appointment for 2nd class there are charging me extra 25 dollars. This is not fare when u canceled my appointment I am ok for it but now y are u charging extra money. Worst paying 200 dollars for class waste of my money.I was dropped at 11.45 from class and was 15 mits late. And 2nd class u cancelled it should I ask u 25 dollars for it.

Fantastic experience: Mr. W (Mike Wetchensky) was amazing with my son! He would get nervous with other teachers, but Mr. W. instantly put him at ease and he gained so much confidence because of him. I highly recommend this school and especially Mr. W for private lessons.

Fantastic experience: They made the process seamless. The registration online was simple. Ps: calling to verify documents needed for test day was helpful. Tons of information (including the route) is also available on the website. The director was very helpful from day 1. I took my test on a Sunday and the instructor was kind, he gave me detailed information about the test and what I would be assessed on prior to getting into the car, he also encouraged me to ask all questions before the test started. I passed however one of things I really appreciated was not just that he was calm throughout the test but at the end asked how I believe I did, then provided a breakdown of the areas I lost points in and should improve on as a driver. All round great experience, 100% recommend!

Fantastic experience: I already shared my thoughts on yelp but I need to make sure this reaches a larger audience. I went in there just to do my driving test. Both the instructor and the good lady at the front office were excellent. I loved working with them. The instructor was really polite when I made mistakes and helped my nerves. I recommend this place to anyone and everyone.

Negative experience: SCAM, Just took out money and didn’t let my daughter pass, even though she been driving for the past 2 years with permit! So not professional when he was talking to me and telling me I shouldn’t wait for last minute . Not advising anyone to go there !!!! Save your money and stay in the line in DPS !!

Fantastic experience: 100% recommend! Passed my Texas DPS Road Test at the Denton Driving School. Had a very good experience! Appointment system on the website is very easy to use. Lots of available appointment times, I was able to go in for the test as soon as the next day! Staff is very friendly and helpful! Very professional! They answered all my questions and made sure I was informed of everything I needed for the test. I want to thank the staff, the driving instructor and the whole Denton Driving School!

Fantastic experience: Fun

Negative experience: Went on a weekday. Dude was a real piece of work. Really rude, forceful, and yanked the steering wheel straight out of my hands when driving back to the place. Failed me for slowing down before a 4-way residential intersection to make sure no one was coming from my right or left. Apparently that was bad because someone could have rear ended me, despite the fact that no one was behind me (I checked) and that just going through the intersection could've meant being sideswiped, but I digress. Yeah, you can see where I'm going with this. I go there a few days later on a Sunday with a different instructor, pass with flying colors. Instructor is confused how I didn't pass the first time. I explain to him what I was told by the other guy, and he just looked confused. Looking back, I feel strongly that the first guy wanted me to pay for a second appointment. Especially as the second instructor made me parallel park almost immediately, while the first one never told me to do so, despite being over halfway finished with the trip when he failed me. Maybe he had always intended to fail me. Left a bad taste in my mouth. Clearly I had not massively improved my driving skills in those few days. Word of advice, go on the weekend. And if your instructor is a short fat balding man, ask for someone else. Also I have spoken to others and they say they were also failed for the stop at that same intersection. Ridiculous!

Fantastic experience: I enjoyed working with the staff to help me get my driver's license. The first time I took my Road Test, I failed. However, the staff worked with me as I took four driving classes to make sure I was prepared, comfortable, and diligent with driving. I have successfully passed my Road Test and received my Driver's License.

Fantastic experience: They were super helpful about the process about getting a driver's license. It was also much quicker than waiting at the dps. Super friendly 5/5 would recommend.

Negative experience: Forgot who I had for my driving test but it was the older fat guy really rude when I asked questions was yelling at me basically the whole time this place is a waste of money I will just go to the DMV The parallel parking was on the hill and it was on a turn no one would ever park there if they ware driving it would be 0 stars if I could give it don’t waste your money the people here are super rude.... 0 out of 5 stars go somewhere else and I passed anyway

Negative experience: I scheduled a driving test with this school and wasn't informed about any documents they would require before administering the test. I got there on the scheduled date and I was told I did not have documentation so I drove back home to get the paperwork. When I returned, they told me it wasn't the right paperwork and so they made me reschedule. I went back home and provided what they asked for only for me to return the following week for them to tell me there were two versions of the class I took and I took the wrong one. I went there a total of four times to schedule ONE test. When I expressed that it was unfair for them to give me the run around instead of giving clear instructions, a man sitting behind the counter proceeded to ask me how old I was and that I should "know these things". This is my first time going through this process and this is why I am paying them and taking driving classes with them. He began to yell at me and told me to get out of the premises after ordering the receptionist to return my money to me. In his words, "give her her money she can go take the test elsewhere". The utter disregard for people's time, and effort, the refusal to admit fault when they make a mistake and the disrespectful way this man talked to me. I see a pattern of them providing poor customer service to people of color here. International students keep complaining and as an international student myself, I've had my own awful experience with them. Please look elsewhere and save yourself an encounter with these horrible people. Your response here is a blatant lie. For one, I did not arrive late AT ALL to my first test. On the second scheduled date, I called to reschedule, but no one would pick the phone AND you don't have a voicemail set up. I also came by that Sunday after trying to call and you all were closed. And for the record, you did not clarify which Impact certificate I was to bring and when I tried to mention this you yelled at me and practically threw my refund at me and asked me to leave. In addition to being horrible communicators, you are also liars.

Fantastic experience: I held my adult permit for almost 4 years. I longed to have my license. This driving school has made it happen for me! If you need to get your license, don’t struggle doing it. I was able to pass my road test FIRST TRY with no regrets afterwards. Highly recommend coming here. Visit in person or look online to see what u need to do

Positive experience: Fast service

Negative experience: Horrible experience!! I had scheduled my test at 3:00PM and my test had not started until 3:10PM. To begin with, the inspector, Sam, first asked me to go to second car (I used their vehicle) and the car was parked in the middle of the parking lot. I looked at him and he could have indicated but he said go to the second car. Anyway I was finally able to figure out the car. He sat inside while I was adjusting my mirrors and seat position. He started rushing by asking to start the car and telling me that he will test my maneuver which he did not! He asked me to turn left and go right. So I turned on my left indicators/blinkers and started going in reverse. He asked me to park back and said "I asked you to turn left and go right" and I did the same thing again. Then he said "Okay now turn right and go left" and we finally came out of parking spot. I went to the main road and went inside the neighborhood where he asked me to "pull beside a car". I was already a little ahead so I stopped and turned my emergency lights on. He got furious and said "I asked you to pull beside the car, not stop" and he was so anguished that he started HITTING THE DASHBOARD AREA IN FRONT OF HIM with his notepad which had cheat sheet. He hit it three times and at that time all I wanted was to get out of the car ASAP. But I had to keep following his directions as I did not have any other option. He asked me to parallel park on the street between cars. I started by showing my right blinkers and I had just started when he said drive straight and marked something on the cheat sheet. We were already on our way back after all this. I could see that he had already made his mind to not let me pass for whatever personal reasons. I stopped at STOP signal and he said he did not feel the jerk so accused me of not stopping completely. I did cross the speed limit after all this by 1MPH (got to 31 where it was 30) and accept that was a mistake on my part. But after going through all this, I am blessed to come out of it harmless. Honestly, he was not testing my driving skills! That I can say for sure! I Don't know what was the issue but I would not want anyone to go through what I went yesterday specially if you are not a citizen or a woman. It was a HORRIBLE HORRIBLE experience with such vague instructions. I would have given it a 0 star if that was an option since they were not professional throughout the whole process of booking and testing. I would suggest going to other driving schools close to Denton. What a complete waste of time and energy for me!

Negative experience: They were totally unprofessional and not so polite with me. Just because I am an international student, I was treated in a bad way. My instructor was Sam and he did not give me any clear instructions thinking I have a bad communication in English. Although I was very prepared for the test, and tried to follow his instructions, I was not even given a chance the whole time. This was a complete waste of money and my time! I wouldn’t recommend this school to anybody inspiring to get a license although you might be a good driver to begin with.

Fantastic experience: I promised a long time to write a review for this people. I was gonna make a long one but I'm just gonna go straight to the point. Dooooont waste your time with tge D. P. S. Department. Save yourself from being treated like a kid on kindergarden school. This people are fantastic. I fought for two years to get my license between being failed at the exam, long hours, and long lines, Long wait days, giving up and coming back to the DPs. Just don't bother. Go to this place ask em what you need for your license, and how much you have to pay which is not much considering all the time they save you. They are very professional and straight to the point. After my big battle with tge DPS making appointments that sometimes take a month, I finally decided to spend a few extra dollars and go there. Beeeeeeeest 100 dollars spent. Im not sure exactly if it was a100 but it was something around that prize, probably less, I'm not sure. But definetly the best. They saved me from the embarrassment of going to the DPs and being treated like some sort of looser at school. That's how they treat you there if you never been on the DPS. Thumbs up for this people. Good Job. P. S don't expect to be paying for them to pass you. They will tell you how to pass but, this is not a cheat to pass your test. You still have to study and pass it. On the other hand the DPS will not tell you and will fail you. And let me point out, some people are racist at the DPS. You can tell.

Fantastic experience: This certified dos driving school was very fun and they are competent, based off of my experience. The building is very clean and kept well together. I want to thank Mr. Tony Seghetti who was an amazing instructor. He has a whole lot of years of experience. I really reccomend this place.

Fantastic experience: They start on time and finish on time! They are very patient during the drive time with the newest of drivers. Very friendly staff who take the time to communicate with the parents. We tried another route but this has been the best choice we could have ever made. Our daughter is confident behind the wheel and prepared for her road test! THANK YOU Denton Driving School for opening this location to serve our community!
