Fantastic experience: I had contacted RIMS about coming to me for a few driving lessons and a road test. Sheila was the suggested instructor as she travels around Dutchess County. She turned out to be just fantastic. She give me great pointers and made me feel incredibly confident about passing my test. She really spent time making sure that I understood the steps of the test and each maneuver. In doing so she also boosted my confidence to drive in the area. Sheila is an above and beyond fantastic teacher.

Fantastic experience: I cannot recommend Sheila enough as a driving instructor! From the very first lesson, I felt completely at ease with her. As someone who has always had a great fear of driving and was extremely anxious to learn at 31, I was nervous about the entire process. However, Sheila's patience, kindness, and comforting nature immediately put me at ease. She has a fantastic ability to break down complex driving concepts into simple, understandable lessons and is always willing to teach in different ways until it clicks for you. Fantastic experience: I would recommend RIMS in a heartbeat! Driving has been the biggest fear of my life, I am a 33-year-old woman who was afraid of driving and at some point, I thought I would never overcome that fear. Last October I started my classes with RIMS, all of them with Suzanne and I can't thank her enough. She not only taught me to pass my driving test but also to become a confident driver for years to come. I never thought I would pick up driving so fast and not in my wildest dreams I thought I'd enjoy driving as much as I am! I passed my driving test with a perfect score all thanks to Suzanne's teachings and helping me feel confident. It's been 2 months since I got my license and I find myself behind the wheel remembering Suzanne's tips and teachings. Thank you so, so much for helping me overcome my driving fear and teaching me, it was an absolute blast to learn with Suzanne and RIMS.

Fantastic experience: Im a 40+ women who had a license more then a decade ago in another continent but never drove after getting it. Since moving here to upstate NY I took few lessons in Redhook and it was a horrible experience!! Luckily the instructor recommended Suzanne for the 5 hours pre license course . It was great and I liked her so much that I asked for behind the wheel lessons with her. She connected me with Stephanie. From the firs second I felt comfortable with her and she gently gave me great tips to improve my driving and feel safe behind the wheel. After only 2 lessons with her not only did I passed the test, i also enjoy driving. She is amazing, don’t hesitate!

Fantastic experience: Just took a pre road test lesson with Frank. Aside from being an incredibly friendly person, he is a great teacher and really helped with my left and right turns. I'm only sad I didn't get to work with him for longer.

Fantastic experience: Frank was a fabulous instructor for my two 16 year old girls. He turned them into confident, careful, and comfortable drivers. His knowledge and dynamic personality made the driving experience a memorable one.

Fantastic experience: If I could, I would give RIMS 6 stars! This is why. I signed up for their 10 class package. The instructor that was assigned to me was not the best fit. In the first 3 classes, she had me driving places that had nothing to do with getting trained to pass a driving test. I contacted Suzanne and, without going into much detail, asked if she had another instructor. Suzanne was quick to assign Stephanie to me. What a gem! I am a 60+ year old guy who grew up in NYC and never got a license. At this age, I was nervous about learning to drive. Stephanie was incredibly patient and supportive. She made this old nervous guy feel very relaxed. And as far as her teaching skills are concerned, she taught me exactly what I needed to learn and practice for the driving test. We worked on this each class and even when I really flubbed something, she was really supportive and helped me to build my confidence. If you're readdy this review and thinking about whether RIMS and Stephanie are right for you (there are other instructors), I would say that Stephanie would be awesome for a teen, 20 something year old, someone who is 50+, and everyone in between. If you need a kind, patient, great instructor, Stephanie is your teacher. Btw, I passed my test on my first try and only made a couple of mistakes. I am now driving around in my first car with a lot of confidence. Thank you Suzanne and Stephanie.

Fantastic experience: I've been taking lessons through this company for about two months. I've still got more work to do however I am significantly more comfortable behind the wheel and my driver's license feels like an attainable goal. Stefanie, my instructor, has endless patient and a great pedagogical approach that is reassuring and enjoyable. I highly recommend this experience.

Fantastic experience: My driving instructor was Frank and he was the BEST! I was so scared to take a driving class because I was worried I'd be judged but when I heard he likes to talk and get to know the people he is helping, It made me feel way more comfortable! I was sad it was only two days because I really enjoyed working with him and getting to know him! But I'm blessed I got to know him in general! The minute he brought up older music, I already knew we were gonna get along! 10/10 Recommend Frank!

Negative experience: Be warned. I experienced unreliable and hostile behavior from certain RIMS personnel.Trying to speak with a live person about lesson scheduling was perplexingly difficult. I can't speak to any of their actual services. Through 5/17/23, RIMS' automated message said inquiries would receive a response within 24 hours. That was not my experience. RIMS set an expectation and reacted in a hostile manner when I voiced concern a week later. On 5/10/23 I submitted the online request. Morning of 5/12/23 I sent a polite follow-up email and voice message. On 5/15/23 I had trouble porting my cell phone number to a new carrier and politely emailed RIMS the morning of 5/16/23. Just before 4PM that day I received an unsigned email from RIMS stating someone named Tara would call me either that day or the day after (5/16 or 5/17). It did not specify that the call would likely come well after close of business. I sent a thank you email the next morning. Just before 5PM (because their published closing time is 5PM) on 5/17/23 I emailed and called again saying I was honestly concerned after a week of trying to make contact, giving an alt number earlier in the week and being told I would receive a call that didn't come by the close of business the day they stated, and to please be transparent with me if they don't have openings in their schedule at this time.Suzanne Rimington lashed out disrespectfully in 3 separate emails, by which point I felt it was prudent to let her know I'm a licensed attorney and her behavior was unprofessional and disrespectful. Her first multi-email rant went as follows: 04:55 PM: "Tara works 3 jobs . She will call you when she can. We are extremely busy ." At 4:56 PM: "Of course you are more than welcome to seek other options ." And at 4:59 PM: "And by the way , she did call you on Monday when she had time but your number didn't work". Some at RIMS do not appear to understand or value basic professionalism, credibility, reliability, or respectfulness. If only someone from RIMS had told me earlier the call could come after business hours or emailed a brief response about needing a more time to call or to explain how far out they were booked or whatever - since they apparently have the time to send multiple inappropriate emails - but some at RIMS apparently do not value people who would pay for their services. Interestingly, about 1.5 hours after close of business, Tara called me and communicated in a professional manner. I even shared I had the impression from Suzanne's angry emails that they were booked into the near future. However, Tara politely encouraged me to book one lesson (and even joked that RIMS could benefit from a weekly meeting to increase information sharing), which I tentatively booked. Tara told me I could pay for the lesson directly through their website. Suzanne sent me two more inappropriate emails even though I had made no further contact with her, including one at 7:31 PM that could be construed as unlawful retaliation under the Consumer Review Fairness Act (15 U.S.C. § 45b): "Tara told me she spoke with you and arranged lessons with you. I then see you left a negative review. I will send you an invoice when I see the review is removed . I am not office staff, I am the owner and also an instructor. There is no office staff..." Don't worry, despite info from Tara that suggested I don't need to be sent an invoice to pay and receive a lesson, I am canceling the lesson with Tara (who is not at fault in any of this). I will not engage directly with Suzanne based on her arguably egregious conduct and would like to point out that sending 5 hostile emails in 2.5 hours - one that appears retaliatory - may also raise questions about rising to the level of § 240.26 Harassment (electronic/digital) in the second degree: "...when, with intent to harass, annoy or alarm another person...engages in a course of conduct or repeatedly commits acts which alarm or seriously annoy such other person and which serve no legitimate purpose."

Fantastic experience: If you are in NY state and need to pass your road test or take the annoying state required 5 hour class, Suzanne is an AWESOME person to take it with! I took the 5 hour class with her as well as a one hour lesson, and she made the class so painless and funny and the driving lesson was great fun as well. With her help I was able to PASS my road test on the very first try. Thanks so much again for all that you do!!!

Fantastic experience: RIMS driving school is definitely a great place to take driving lessons. I took a lesson with Suzanne and not only did she go out of her way to come pick me up she also gave me very solid advice and took the time to make sure I felt comfortable with everything I would need for my test. Result? I passed! Thanks Suzanne :)

Fantastic experience: My son took a few driving courses with Suzanne to prepare for his drivers test in Sept & Oct 2021. She made him feel completely comfortable & taught him a new way to parallel park! She was fantastic & i would highly recommend her! My son passed his drivers test in October on the first try! Fantastic experience: I did not take any courses with RIMs, but my MOM did. She does not speak any English, but I trusted Suzanne's word that the driving course was going to be professional and patient with my mom. Suzanne introduce me and my mom to Lev--The most sympathetic and patient driving instructor we ever met. Lev provided my mom with the confidence, empowerment, and trust that my mom needed to learn how to drive. Now, she drives spectacularly with high confidence. Fantastic experience: Rims driving school is fantastic and I would highly recommend it to anyone. Thoroughly professional, great attention to detail, and going above and beyond the call of duty: (My sons instructor even helped him clean the car prior to his drivers test. Wow!) And…he finally passed his test! He had two failed attempts prior to taking lessons with Rims.

Fantastic experience: I had the most amazing experience here! I had miserably failed my first road test. Literally, a blood bath. I went to Suzanne Rimington in utter desperation. She made time for me, despite being booked up. I found her incredibly sympathetic, patient, supportive and above all, a first rate teacher. With scarcely two lessons under my belt, my confidence went way up. I was parallel parking like a pro. And yesterday I passed my road test with a near perfect score. Fantastic experience: Due to COVID-19, I had to take the 5 Hour Pre-Licensing Course through an online format, and I really enjoyed it. Going in I thought that I wouldn't really learn much from an online 5 hour class but I was completely wrong. The instructor, Suzanne Rimmington, gave us the real, applicable knowledge to use on the driving test and on the road in general. I'd highly recommend.
