Agganis Driving School Inc: Reviews
Fantastic experience: Great customer service. Knowledgeable and friendly instructors. Getting the driving lessons in when you need them is really important and a big differentiator. Our third child is approaching the driving age and we will not consider going anywhere else.
Fantastic experience: Great experience.
Fantastic experience: Extremely easy process with excellent sponsor availability.
Fantastic experience: The driving instructor took his time and went over the very necessary things that would help me get my license back after a failed attempt the first time. He was honest and direct. I will say that I passed my test and got my license back! Thank you!
Fantastic experience: Our entire experience has been wonderful. Instructions from start to end, helping with scheduling the observation lesson, and having the instructor with my son during the road test was amazing - it really helped my son remain calm during the test.
Fantastic experience: Excellent service! Friendly, reliable and punctual. I would highly recommend this driving school for a road test. Mary was so sweet and informative setting up appointment quickly.
Fantastic experience: Please do not get influenced by the disgruntled reviews. We had NO issue getting driving lessons. Yes, it is true that slots are full online, however, if you and your child provide them your numbers, i promise you will get several texts with open times. They are awesome and thorough and want your child safe on the road. Drivers education is very costly in MA because they made it mandatory for anyone under 18. Therefore, the higher demand means higher cost. In the end, you really cannot put a price tag on safe driving. I highly recommend Agganis. Staff were receptive, kind, friendly and available for anything. My son did online classes over April vacation 2024 and passed his driving test the other day. There is an extra fee but i suggest paying to use an Agganis sponsor and car for the road test.
Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Agganis driving school! The process of scheduling lessons was simple and efficient, and the entire experience was very thorough from start to finish. Mike, the driving instructor, was absolutely incredible with my son. He was patient, professional, and made sure my son felt confident behind the wheel. Thanks to Mike’s excellent teaching, my son is now a safe and skilled driver. Couldn’t be happier with our experience! Christy
Fantastic experience: I do not understand the poor review for Agganis. I find the price of ALL drivers education companies to be outrageous but that’s due to the state mandate for kids to take it if they’re under 18. Increase in demand means higher expenses for any company to provide a service. In turn, the price increases. I’ve heard people say they cannot get an appointment for lessons but I would like to clarify. Booking online is very tough as slots fill quickly. I was disappointed with that at first. However, we got daily texts with many open slots and never had an issue booking. You have to reply immediately though. The classes for students and parents is extremely thorough and I was amazed at how much I thought I knew and how much has changed since I got my license. I highly recommend Agganis and think they provide parents and kids the confidence and knowledge they need to drive safely. They also will pick up just about anywhere and same for dropping off after the lesson. My son was picked up at school many times and taken home when the lesson was over. It’s a great company!
Negative experience: No stars!!! This place is the worst, they are scammers. DO NOT GO HERE they failed my daughter with no excuse, she did nothing wrong, they want us to go back and pay AGAIN
Hello Cristina. We are sorry your daughter had a poor license experience. Though, please remember we do not issue or conduct any license exams. The examiner works for the Registry of Motor Vehicles, not our company.
Negative experience: This place didn’t even teach my child basic driving rules. All her lessons she had good ratings and claimed she was ready for the exam. On the day of the exam the instructor in the vehicle with the RMV employee didn’t say anything to either of us about any of her errors. When I emailed nobody responded. They were paid by me to teach her to drive AND take her for the exam. Instead of agreeing with whatever the RMV employee said they should take the time to talk to the paying customer about how the student can improve. All about the money. No concern for their students. And even though I can’t prove it I have reason so believe their 90% pass rate is untrue as I know many kids who failed. Very unprofessional and overcharge for everything.
Negative experience: 5 stars: They are fantastic with taking your money. Zero stars: ease of booking driving lessons. For the parent class - the guy talks a good game: plenty of appointments available over the summer to get those lessons in. Do not fall for it. I was specifically looking to book most of appointments over the summer because time is very limited once school and activities start. There is no need for this much aggravation.
Fantastic experience: I sent both my kids through agganis driving school . They are now 28 and 30 years old and have not had an accident yet . As far as I know . I took driver's Ed . through his father . And his son has taken it to a new level . A+ in my book
Negative experience: This place is all about the money they are the biggest scammers. Rude employee Make everyone fail their driving lesson. Highly don’t recommend
Hello Arwa, please remember the “employee” that conducts the license exam does not work for our school. They are employed by the Mass DOT. As the driving school, we do not pass or fail anyone.
Negative experience: Astonishingly bad
Negative experience: This place is a scam. Unclear with instructions. They won’t answer the phone they have nobody you can email. They refuse to make accounts for 18+ drivers. During the road test they are harsh if you fail; then intentionally fail people so they can get more money out you you.
Hello Jillian, our records indicate we have spoken multiple times and booked quite a few lessons with you. We do apologize for your frustration but please remember the RMV conducts all license exams, not our driving school.
Negative experience: I was doing good on the test the whole way through until the lady asked me to parallel park behind a car in the lot in which there was no curb or lines to direct myself, just the one car that was there and I was just a tiny bit more inside and she said I failed because of my parallel parking job which made absolutely no sense. When her and the other instructor were talking, it seems like they wanna fail everyone because they were looking for any reason at all to fail me and the driver right after me. Do not come here, it is a waste of time and money
Hello Jj, though we understand failing an exam may be frustrating, please remember the examiner is not an Agganis employee. The individual conducting the exam works for the Registry of Motor Vehicles.
Negative experience: This place is joke indeed joke
Hello Rajendra, could you please call our office. The name that left this review is not coming up in our system. We take our customer service very seriously and would like to look into this.
Fantastic experience: I am reaching out to express my gratitude to my instructors: Chris, James, Greg, Brian, Brad and all others at Agganis who have graciously taught me and helped me to successfully complete my driver’s education program, driving lessons and driver’s test. Thank you so much for making this experience stress-free and interesting. I would definitely recommend Agganis Driving School to anyone who is seeking to learn how to drive. Sincerely,
Fantastic experience: I didn’t do lessons here, just my road test. When I checked in the front desk woman was so nice (and pretty)!!! I passed my license and the two guys in the car with me were amazing. Everyone was so nice and made you feel so comfortable! Worth every cent. My bestfriend also scheduled hers the same day and she passed as well! Thank you agganis :)
Fantastic experience: Great experience, even during the pandemic they are working professionally. Quick to respond and Made a difficult process easier. Would recommend anyone going through the application process.
Thank you, Amitoj!
Hello Rossana, sorry to hear about your testing experience. Please be aware the examiner conducting the license test is not our employee. All test examiners are State RMV employees that we hire to come to our location only to perform tests. If you still need help getting your license, please call our office and we would be more than happy to help reschedule.
Negative experience: This morning, 11/15/20, while heading north on Cambridge St in Woburn, I observed a student driver vehicle cut across two lanes of traffic with no directional cutting off numerous vehicles to get on the entrance to I-95 North. This caused to nearly get in a collision. Once on I-95 North, I again observed the vehicle cut across several lanes of traffic with no directional. This again caused myself and numerous other vehicles to get in a collision. When attempting to pass the vehicle I observed that there was only 1 occupant operating said vehicle. I would HIGHLY advise against anybody attending this driving school. It is obvious that the instructors have no idea how to safely operate a motor vehicle.
Positive experience: Nothing like driving a car while the instructor frantically scratches tickets.
Fantastic experience: I have had three children go through this program. One was a more complicated situation. They have great communication. Very easy to talk to. Scheduling many lessons before the test. Changed the test date for me. Resent password as needed. Other people waiting time was months for their test where Aggainis offers many convenient dates. I have been very pleased with the quality of service and customer care we have received. It has only improved with each child.
Thank you, Holly!
Negative experience: absolute trash
Positive experience: I’m 22, so I did not take the in classroom driving class. I did however take road lessons. Though my instructor was from Wilmington, I’m leaving my review for the reading location because I did not have any issue with the driving instructor or instruction. Paul was polite, helpful, and funny. Stern when he needed to be but it was always so that you were sure to be safe and aware. I enjoyed his humor, ability to answer questions, and professionalism. However, My road test has now been moved TWICE. I have yet to take it as I type. I may update once I do but right now my test has been moved once because the registry could not conduct tests the weekend of Veterans Day and a second time due to registry being understaffed. All the tossing around has been frustrating. Apparently don’t count on your road test date being the exact day you’re going to take it.
Positive experience: My son went through the program two years ago and we thought it was excellent. Now my second son will start soon 10/19 and i will update with results.
Negative experience: Trying for over 12 days to schedule driving lessons. Extremely poor customer service. No response to emails automatically reply, no response to 6+ voicemails. Information that was to be submitted to Registry was *not submitted* 5 months AFTER the class. The classroom portion is very good, it is the customer care, driving lessons, etc that is beyond lacking.
Negative experience: I have seen a lot of poor reviews and thought they might be just be from people who are not being reasonable so I took a chance and signed my daughter up. Well all of those poor reviews were accurate. It's been 5 months since my daughter completed the classes and we have not been able to schedule ANY lessons. They say that June July and August are the best months and I've been patient. This is basically stealing. I've paid $800 dollars for only 1/2 of the services. DO NOT use this school find another.
Negative experience: My husband and I have been given a complete run around - it’s impossible to talk to them . They tell us they need to send in the drivers permit - multiple times - but then we have an email saying they have it . The only way I’m going to get service is by physically driving to the main reading office
Negative experience: Horrible , Horrible experience, stay away , takes days to schedule lessons, Phones are hardly answered and when answered with really bad manners
Negative experience: Classes ok, DO NOT TAKE LESSONS HERE The classroom experience was fine. However, they are selling far more lessons than they can actually provide. The staff will swear up and down you're just not looking at the right time, and change their stories from visit to visit. They told me they had lessons available at a time when I have screenshots of their website showing no available lessons. I would not recommend their driving lessons under any circumstances.
Negative experience: they never answer their phones or emails. I’ve called multiple times over several days and I’ve gotten no response, they’re preventing me from getting my license
Negative experience: The Lessons are well done. Their test program is the most likely to get you a license of any in the state. Their classroom section was good, their road instructors are excellent, and their program saves money in the long run. Here is why not to use them. They have the absolute worst customer service I have ever encountered. I am a college student, approaching the first semester at my new college. I finished the classroom portion of the program 2 months in advance with the hopes to sign up for my rode lessons fast and then take all of them and the test in time to have my license before the beginning of the semester. After the classroom was done I went into the office and talked to the support there. We worked out payment and the pickup drop off for the lessons. I then waited a week waiting for the online scheduling to be unlocked. It didn't happen, so I try to call the office. nothing. I try the next day. Nothing. The weekend comes and goes. Nothing. Finally I get through and they say that there is still a bill waiting to be paid (one we had tried to pay a couple times). I pay it and wait for another week. Finally the online schedule is unlocked and... first slots available are 4 months away. I try to call again. again it takes almost a week to get an answer. I say that I need to get my license within the month so I have it before the semester starts. I am told, not a problem, we can do that. Sign up for the road test and we will get you on the list. I do that. Wait a week. nothing. Spend over a week trying to call them. Nothing. Finally I sit down one morning before work (have I mentioned all of this is in the middle of a busy work schedule?) and call over and over and over again. Finally the 20th (no exaggeration) call goes through and I am told that the road test hadn't gone through, and that they hadn't put in the pick up drop off locations (which after she said she didn't have them numerous times, she somehow knew the location we had discussed without me telling her). She puts me on the text alert thing so I can start to get the driving lessons done and can do the road test. A week later I have gotten one lesson in. I finally call again, desperate to get my test done, asking if I could take it before all of the road lessons are done. I am told that this entire time, since I am over 18, I didn't have to complete the road lessons in advance and could have done the test right off the bat. 2 months later I discovered that all of the hassle they put me through could have been avoided and finished weeks ago. Then I discover that I can't actually sign up for the tests less than 2 weeks in advance, so I am only able to get mine weeks into the semester. They make the RMV seem like well organized helpful and useful genius's.
Negative experience: CAUTION - TAKES MONTHS TO GET DRIVING LESSONS SCHEDULED! Agganis does not have enough instructors to get driving time scheduled. It has taken months and still not completed. Getting a response to scheduling inquires takes days. Lots of unmet promises! This school has been nonstop frustration!
Negative experience: Bad service. They do not answer on the phone. no additional guides can be made. Person doing rude and ignorant road test exam. Road test cars with deflated tires. Worst of the worst, do not your waste time with them
Fantastic experience: I went to Aggainis in Wilmington 13 years ago and to this day haven't had an accident or a ticket. In my opinion a very good driving school with extremely effective techniques.
Negative experience: I don't know how you can call yourself a driving school when your cars have headlights and taillights out that's very unprofessional and unsafe. I have also seen cars being driven by the instructors and no one else in the car take illegal right turns with no blinker and have had multiple people cut me off. I understand it is a driving school and they are going to be mistakes but when instructors are driving dangerously with cars that are not up to road standards how can you teach other people how to drive. I have not taken any classes with these people but I do deliver pizza in the town of Wilmington and see these cars all the time. And I have seen countless headlights tail lights and brake lights out.
Negative experience: Scam, stay away! Took a 90 min driving practice with them, and was only maybe 50 min of actual driving without any direction or help. Then scheduled the road test and everyone I was with FAILED, for any little thing. The person with me failed because he "accelerated" too fast and me for getting on the road but the person giving it said I cut someone off when I was way away from it. DON'T GO HERE, THEY JUST TAKE YOUR MONEY BUT DON'T HELP.
Positive experience: We have three kids, and our third had the best experience for driving lessons at Agganis. They are professional and caring. Her drivers were helpful and supportive. They were a little more expensive but worth it. The Wilmington location is new and clean, bright and comfortable, even for the parents class. By the way, you only have to take the parents class once. I wish we had gone with Agganis for our older two. But price oftentimes dictates.
