Fantastic experience: The absolute best driving school around! My instructors (Celina and Blanco) were very patient with teaching me parallel parking and k-turn. They answered all my questions and gave me constructive feedback on my weak points during each lesson session. The admin was very organized and she answered all my questions. I absolutely recommend!!

Positive experience: I recently completed my driving lessons at Amar driving school, and I had an amazing experience with Instructor Celina. She is patient, professional, and extremely knowledgeable. Celina made sure I understood every concept clearly and built my confidence behind the wheel. Her teaching style is calm and encouraging, which made learning to drive stress-free. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a great instructor! However, I would advise against taking lessons with Instructor Mike. Unfortunately, my experience with him was not pleasant—he was often rude, impatient, and didn’t explain things properly. It made learning much harder and more frustrating than it needed to be. If you want a positive and effective learning experience, definitely choose Celina—she’s the best!

From the very first lesson, it was clear that she was highly knowledgeable and professional, providing clear, step by step guidance. She explained each step with precision, ensuring that I understood the reasoning behind each step. The car was also always in top condition.

Fantastic experience: I went and took my road test today i passed my first attempt all thanks to celina she drove me to the road test location otw she showed me videos gave me tips and help me remember my practice and with that i passed. Also after i passed and filled out the paperwork it wasn’t rlly busy so she waited for me and took me back home and im rlly grateful for celina and her tips and videos to help me pass thank you so much celina

Negative experience: My mom took a driving lesson with Celina. She said, Celina came 15 minutes late. My mom was brought to a parking lot and drove 1:30 mins there learning K-turn, Reverse, and parking. However, she was uncomfortable because Celina brought her husband in the back seat. I mean I understand that she’s 2 months pregnant, but didn’t she think how does the learner will feel when her husband is in the back seat? Drove in the parking lot for 1:30 mins, why she didn’t let my mom drive in the streets?

Fantastic experience: I had an excellent experience with this driving school. They are efficient in scheduling classes, punctual on timing and have very good instructors. My instructor Celina in particular was excellent. She was patient, taught me all the key things needed for the test and gave me plenty of practice. I passed in my first try! Highly recommend this school and Celina as an instructor.

Negative experience: The instructor Celina is great and is perhaps the best part about this driving school. But the scheduling is an absolute mess. My first appointment the instructor was given 2 different student appointments at the same time. So the actual appointment was delayed by almost an hour. You'd think this is a one time thing and I was happy with the instructor so took another appointment next week. I was told to come to the driving school but the instructor didn't show up. Apparently she wasn't told about my lesson and eventually it was cancelled. What makes this worse is I have to travel to the driving school location in an Uber just for the lesson but twice in a row appointment was cancelled or delayed by an hour making it a really bad experience. And I have little to no confidence in their schedule management to waste time and money commuting to their location in the hope of making an appointment

Fantastic experience: My experience with the instructor was excellent I had Celine and I totally recommend her she gave me a lot of confidence and great parking tips. I had a practice session before my road test and she asked what I felt my weak point was (parking) and let me practice it multiple times and went over the crucial points for the road test repeatedly. However my test was in Rahway and I ended up failing because I felt rushed during my first parking attempt and was told to try again even though I wasn’t done parking and that just made me nervous for my second try. Celine even went to talk to the supervisor with me to see if I can get another chance but that obviously didn’t do anything. Do not go to Rahway especially if you are a beginner and don’t have much practice or get nervous.

Positive experience: Passed my road test at 1st try, received good instructions from Celina. Thank you to her and Amar driving school for being patience and polite during training and guidance for road test. Keep up the good work Celina

Fantastic experience: Booked a road test and a driving lesson right before the test in Lodi. Received great instructions and patient guidance from Blanco. He was very patient and corrected me when I was wrong. Thanks to him and Amar Driving School, I got my license without any issues! :)

Positive experience: Came back to edit my review from 1 star to 3 stars. My only practice with them went well, but we had an issue with lending me a car for my road test exam. Even though I was charged, I didn't receive the car. It took a very honest review from my end and some days for them to refund my money back. The instructor got very aggressive with me because of this, but it didn't escalate further.

Fantastic experience: Great Experience but A bit pricy for me. They took 90 dollars just for Road Test (around 15 mins). A prt from that, they are well experienced to help you.

Negative experience: Do not use this place unless you want to lose time & money. Day of my road test, a different instructor showed up in a different car (I’d already taken 7 lessons with this school with the same instructor & car). I had also specifically requested the same car / instructor for the road test….the guy that showed up was late, barely spoke English, and couldn’t give any basic, clear instructions. To make things even more strange, there was a student driver in the backseat & the instructor asked me to drive him back to his apt. Super odd and definitely a liability. Overall, completely unprofessional and unacceptable experience from beginning to end. I tried calling the school a few days after to voice what had happened, and while the woman on the phone said she would reach back out with next steps (I asked for a refund of the 45 minute lesson I didn’t get), no one ever contacted me. This is why I am sharing my experience here so others can avoid being fooled. I am truly appalled. Save yourself the stress and anxiety and stay clear of this place.

Negative experience: Horrible - different driver (appeared to be owner) shows up day of road test with different vehicle that I had practiced in for over 5 lessons. The worst part was he barely spoke English and had me practice in a Taco Bell parking lot. $200 wasted and a failed driving test. Owner is an idiot. Surprised he passed the driving test. AVOID

Negative experience: Stay away. Motor vehicle lodi do not like him so it makes it even worse. Parallel parking - every instructor changes the cone format and the way they teach you to park. He tried making me use the camera. Must follow motor vehicle guidelines to pass.

Negative experience: Horrible experience. The instructor was an absolute moron (for lack of a better term) as he couldn't do basic communication - didn't give even basic inputs on driving. Please avoid at every cost.

Negative experience: My wife failed in the first attempt (October 23 2023). Negative: 1. The mistake my wife did was (no hands on hand while steering). She was never thought about this from the driving school. We saw what is that in YouTube after the exam and realized if he would have taught that thing to her she would have passed. 2. Also she was not thought that she has to drive at least in 20 MPH. When I asked the driving school instructor about her driving he told she drives good. But she failed and I lost $320. (One full session of teaching $120 and driving test fee $200). Positive: They taught the technique of parallel parking.

Positive experience: Place did a good job. Had 5 lessons with Blanco, nicest person you’ll ever meet. Easy to talk to and was very patient. Had great lessons with him and the language barrier wasn’t too much of an issue. The lessons overall are 5 stars On the day of the road test, it took a turn. I was expecting Blanco for the road test but I got another man. I was fine with not having him as my instructor but several things caught my eye. 1) First impression: We scheduled a 1:35 pickup for some practice beforehand but he arrived 15 minutes later than this time. Instructor was on his phone whilst driving and had to rush on the road after being late. 2) The practice: We pulled into a quiet street and started to parallel park. Immediately, I faced some conflict. Instructor reached over his seat to turn for me whilst doing other things. I’m a patient person and I understand that he was attempting to assist me, but having to state over and over again r is for reverse, d for drive, turning for me at times, and instructing me as if it were my first time driving had me have to hold my cool. 3) After the test: He tried to get me to look into his house and talk to my parents into buying his property. At this point I was done and just said I would think about it; however, on the bright side he got me Dunkin after the test and taught me how to use the backup cameras beforehand (the one for the lesson didnt have cameras). Overall: Lessons went well, practice before test was roady but still passed so I can’t complain. 4/5 stars.

Fantastic experience: I only had 2 lessons. One 90 minute session, and one 45 minute session before road test date. I learned really quickly thanks to Amar Driving School and passed very easily! Great instructors!

Fantastic experience: I contacted them for road test and one session of driving session after i failed my first road test. The instructor(Raju) was very helpful, very practical on how to pass the test. Just followed his instructions and it was a breeze. Hint: never give road test in Newark.

Negative experience: You will get different instructors each time.. that teach you differently which confuses you & on top of that you will not take the test with the same vehicle you practiced in. I did have one good instructor (Raymond) but he was not always available when I was so I did not always get a good instructor.
