Motorcycle Training Center Corporate Office: Reviews
Negative experience: Horrible experience, instructor rude, insulting and impatient. For first time riders who need confidence and encouragement, she totally failed, this is supposed to be a “safety course” which she seemed not to care about at all. She Just wanted to go home because she didn’t “feel well” shame on this company, total waste of time and money. Will be going to Harley Davidson for better instruction and more humane treatment, thanks for wasting my time and money just to be treated like an idiot
Fantastic experience: My instructor Marlon was the best. I had experience riding but the rest of the class didn’t. He took his time teaching everyone how to operate their assigned motorcycles. He also showed us World class riding demonstrations. Marlon made the class overall fun. I will highly recommend this course to everyone
Fantastic experience: Brian made the directions giving to me easy enough for me to have full confidence and trust in operating the motorcycle. 10/10 excellent teacher, will recommend to others that are interested in getting trained. Thanks Brian!
Thank you Ryan!
Fantastic experience: Amazing Trainer, great lesssons
Fantastic experience: After being in the military, I was expecting more of a boot camp atmosphere. I was so wrong! I was quickly put at ease by the instructor. We were all treated with respect and the instructor passed on her vast experience and knowledge without intimidating tactics. She took the time to insure that each person knew what the importance of each excise was, while always stressing safety! When someone was having a problem with an excise, she was there to help coach them through it. Even though I had ridden a motorcycle years ago, I learned so much about riding safely. Highly recommend this motorcycle training program!
Negative experience: I believe that Robert may not be the best fit for teaching this class. His teaching style seems to involve humiliating and raising his voice at students. I'm surprised that the company hired an instructor with such an approach. The primary purpose of your company should be to teach people how to ride a bike effectively, not to humiliate them. We pay for your services to receive instruction and guidance, but this course with Robert consisted mainly of him yelling at students using foul language throughout the day.
Fantastic experience: Very professional. Hands on training and instructions very detailed and safety conscious.
Fantastic experience: Sonny is the an amazing instructor/coach and mentor. He is gonna teach us everything about safety while riding a motorcycle. He knows how to make the his students learn fast and ride safely.
Fantastic experience: This class prepared me much more than I hoped to. I, not only enjoyed it, but recommend it for everyone riding
We recommend it too ;) Glad you enjoyed it. Thank you for the review!
Fantastic experience: Great class! Sonny was the best instructor!!! Very enjoyable and the day went very fast!
Fantastic experience: Instructor was very knowledgeable! Been doing it a very long time and cares about everyone’s safety all the time. Made sure the class kept moving and we kept learning. Thank you for the class looking at the intermediate course in the future.
Negative experience: Go to Lone Star instead - they actually have real empathetic coaches unlike what they have here. The positive reviews here are evidently payed since they don’t match the actual experience there.
Fantastic experience: I had a great experience. The instructor was professional, friendly, and encouraging, and also very focused on safety. He clearly explained the training skills and gave feedback dueing practice. Would recommend this course to both those new to motorcycles and those with more experience. I was a total newbie but was taught the skills and passed!
Thanks for your review Katie!
Fantastic experience: I took the basic rider course in Burleson with instructor Mr. Apostle White. I would highly recommend Apostle as an instructor for anybody. He does an excellent job communicated the important concepts. Furthermore, Apostle maintained the perfect balance of being patient as new riders learned, while also being stern regarding the important learning points surrounding safety and skill. I am much more confident going forward as a new rider for the fact I had the chance to learn from him.
Adam, Glad we could help. Hope you continue to enjoy and be safe!
Fantastic experience: Took the intermediate class using my own motorcycle. Was an awesome experience! Instructors were knowledgeable, patient, and good at coaching. Gave good tips during the various drills. Would definitely recommend!
Fantastic experience: Best experience
Fantastic experience: I took the class on Sept. 3rd and 4th with instructor Apostale White! He was amazing. For a first time rider, I have never been on a motorcycle before. He was patient, understanding and helped me learn what I needed. I will be recommending this school to everyone I know!
Fantastic experience: Great class. Learned alot from it and got my motorcycle license right after.
Fantastic experience: Had a great time! Instructor was amazing and funny. Over all 10/10
Great! Thanks Jeremiah!
Fantastic experience: Our mentor/instructor/coach was great. He had alot of knowledge to share and was patient with his class. I'm definitely recommending friends to use your training classes. Thank you Sonny!
Tina, thank you for your review! Sonny has been teaching for a long time and he really enjoys what he does. Reviews like yours are very rewarding. Thank you.
Fantastic experience: It was a challenging class. I really learned a lot more than I thought I knew. The instructor was great. Very pleased with the experience.
Kenneth, thank you for your review.
Fantastic experience: I had very little experience, Mo was an excellent instructor in my opinion. This something I have been wanting to do for years but I just didn't have the confidence in myself. When I passed, I was, and still am so proud of myself. I just got a bike of my own.
Congratulations on accomplishing your goal! Mo's passion is teaching. Stay safe and enjoy the ride!
Fantastic experience: I enjoyed my beginner course in what honestly felt like a dream come true. Excellent teaching staff. Thank you so much Sonny, VERY much appreciated.
Enjoy the dream and stay safe out there. Thank you for your feedback!
Positive experience: passed motorcycle class today! i did enjoy this class, most of it was informative and helped me learn basic skills. i would say that the person training us went too fast, didn’t assure everyone understood before continuing on. he was great at identifying and helping with causes of error but couldn’t explain counter turning to us. i’m a logical person and the idea of counter turning didn’t make sense, instead of explaining it to me he just said “you just do it, i can’t help you with that” Not Helpful. we had someone who was late and didn’t have their paper and the teacher let him participate, even when he didn’t have it the second day. he also let us wake up in our cars when it was cold. i didn’t like that when he asked us what can affect our driving and i said “mental illness” he said “well, yeah. stupidity can effect it” i have adhd and didn’t appreciate being called stupid. over all great class, the online portion was very helpful! i will say that leaving early wasn’t cool because this class was very expensive!! i hope in the future yall make sure that classes get out on time instead of early! edit: just read another review from someone saying they were late and the company didn’t care! this was the companies response: “ I'm sorry you are not happy but honestly you didn't even get to experience the class and have no one to blame for this but yourself.” who ever replies to these reviews needs a different job!
Fantastic experience: Taking the class with Sonny was entertaining, pleasurable, AND informative. He makes the learning fun and stresses the importance of safety first. It was definitely worth the wait and the price, i have no regrets
Sonny has taught a lot of classes and loves teaching motorcycle safety! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Fantastic experience: The MSF here in DFW taught by Tom Pugh - What an incredibly insightful and super fun couple of days. I attended a Thursday / Friday class, had my drivers license altered for the M class the following Monday (go early, get same day ticket at dps) & Wednesday I purchased a Ninja 650 and rode it home confidently 23 miles from the dealership. I took the back roads, because new and the hwy was scary, I stalled it once, but I always knew what I was doing on the road back home. In 2 days, these people will get you confident enough and teach you enough that you too can go out the following week and make your first 2 wheel purchase (that has an engine and goes VROOM). Tom was awesome, super cool guy, very chill, very direct and incredibly knowledgeable. The ride home from the dealer, I was super nervous for about 15 miles and then it all just kind of clicked. Absolutely the most fun I've ever had, could not be more grateful for such a good class. Thank you MTC, THANK YOU TOM! (btw if you see this, I did end up buying from freedom powersports ftw, they were also super super good throughout the entire process, good advice!) MTC 6 stars if i could, 150% recommend if you're looking to get out on 2 wheels quickly and confidently. I can't wait for tomorrow when I can go back out and ride some more~
Great news! Thank you for letting us know. This is what its all about! Stay safe and enjoy your new ride!
Fantastic experience: Ms. Mo was absolutely amazing! She took the time to actually teach and make sure each student knew how to ride. She is patient and supportive. MTC did a great job on the location, class and instructor. I would HIGHLY recommend MTC to anyone wanting to obtain their class M license.....ask for Ms. Mo!!!
Michelle, Thank you for your review! Mo has been a teacher for a long time in addition to teaching the Motorcycle Safety Class. You can tell she enjoys what she does! Thanks.
Fantastic experience: Great class. My instructor Mo was awesome! Learned so much from this class during just 2 days. Definitely will recommend all my friends and family.
Thank you Shane!
Fantastic experience: Great course. I had never ridden a motorcycle prior to the course, walked away feeling confident and ready to purchase a bike.
Thank you Jake!
Negative experience: This is the least customer service you get when you talk to people at this place. I would strongly recommend not to go this place, use other motor training centers. Me and my friend both registered for the course, we had worst experience and had to pay $250 for course and we wasted money on them. We neither received training from not money. We are little late to course, tried to explain them situation and they were not in state of listening, instead they blamed us you were late very disrespectful and suggesting is to reschedule with paying extra money. I’m sharing my experience, so that others will be little careful with these guys.
K reddy, I'm sorry you are not happy but honestly you didn't even get to experience the class and have no one to blame for this but yourself. The website, the phone conversations, and the confirmation that every student gets has instructions one how to get to the class and clearly states that you MUST be on time for the class and that if you are not, you will loose your money and have to pay to come again. This is a group class not private instruction. We have a lot of information to cover in 2 days. This stuff is important and could literally save your life! So instead of taking responsibility for your own actions you have chosen to blame us...
Negative experience: Unprofessional. When I tried to explain to the manager how the instructor treated me and how there was no instruction on the basics at all, he actually laughed at me. That tells me all I need to know. If you're a beginner, you should try to get a friend who has some experience to explain things to you, or watch several YouTube videos to get an understanding of the basics. Then take a class somewhere else. Very disappointed and I don't recommend. Response to owner: You're trying to say the manager laughed because of what he THINKS he knows about what happened or should happen in that class. Taking a class online doesn't exactly prep you if you've never even sat on a motorcycle before, you still need someone to come over to your motorcycle and show the controls and where stuff is, how it works, etc. My complaint was the instructor never gave me any individual attention whatsoever, and he was exceptionally rude and tried to intimidate me when I was on the motorcycle. It was one of the strangest things I've ever experienced. When a customer has a complaint, the last thing you should probably do is laugh in their face. Disrespectful. None of your statistics matter; I know what I experienced from that instructor and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. It was humiliating and denigrating - no one could hear what the instructor was saying to me because the motorcycles were running and we had our helmets on. And for your manager to laugh at my complaints on the phone... amazing. That's ok, I'll find another way to learn.
Alicia, The manager took your complaint seriously. He actually called all the other students that were in your class and asked them if the coach covered this or that and they all replied that he did. He never mentioned your name just said he was checking up and wanted to make sure what they experienced in the class. If he laughed it was probably because he knows that you had to complete and online course that covers all the basics one at a time, then in class the coach has "range cards" that are the instructions for each exercise. He reads them word for word before each exercise starts, most exercises also have a demo, then he asks if anyone has any questions. So for you to say that he didn't cover the basics just doesn't sound reasonable. This is a basic class and people take it every day. About 96% of the people who take the class pass on the first try and about 50 -60% have no previous experience.
Fantastic experience: Been riding for five years, illegally, never got caught, lol.Got me a new 2021 Kawasaki ZX6R KRT Edition, couldn't chance it getting impounded. This class is good, you learn things from the instructor, that you would've never thought of.Dont let Sonny Burns intimidate you,he is a great instructor, reminds me of military drill. He is very serious about the teaching, but he also has a sense of humor,to keep you motivated. You are not going to learn everything from a class,it's mostly rider experience on the road, but the instructions can help save your life.Just remember, learning never stop, you can always improve your skills and knowledge.Even just taking the basic course like I did a few days ago in Mesquite,is a world of knowledge.
Sonny has taught more students than any other coach I know. Thank you for your review!
Fantastic experience: Sunny is the best trainer Town east mall I walked in with ZERO knowledge and he made sure to teach me everything and fix my mistakes. Thanks Sunny.
Thank you!
Fantastic experience: William was very professional and made the learning experience fun and enjoyable.
Thank you!
Fantastic experience: I'm a skilled Rider..didn't think I'd learn much, just needed my license. the instructor was great he was willing to take the time to make sure I had all the tools and knowledge I could possibly need to be safe.. I will be taking the skilled riders course next.. and I know it will pay off easily..thanks again.
Thanks for the review. No matter how much experience you have, you can always learn more. It might come in handy when you need it most!
Fantastic experience: Chips was our instructor and was wonderful. Learned a lot from the class and would recommend it to beginners and more advanced riders that never had training.
Thank you Adam. We appreciate your feedback.
Fantastic experience: I purchased a Piaggio scooter and wanted to get my license so that I can legally ride on the roads. I scheduled the training on line and even called their main office with a few questions. The course was very thorough and more than I expected. The instructor was Sonny Burns and he is an avid rider and has been instructing for many years. The outdoor riding was extremely valuable and we performed many maneuvers and possible scenarios that would occur on the roads. Overall, I am very impressed with the course and highly recommend to anyone looking to obtain their license.
Kent, Thank you for the informative review! Good luck with your new scooter. I'm glad we could help you get started on the right track.
Fantastic experience: Great place to get your needed skills to pass the license test. Small bikes and a methodical ease into riding a bike to not intimidate first time riders. Highly recommend going in the cooler months. You spend a lot of time outside and on the bike so the cooler temps are welcome during those long days.
Fantastic experience: Mr Shulz was the man! He kept it light and fun and covered all the necessary points necessary to ride, and ride safe! In my class there was even a new rider who had never ridden a motorcycle! By the end of the class he aced the riding test ! Great class, and tons of fun! (Once you get out of the classroom lol) 10/10 would recommend!
Fantastic experience: Coach Benny is very knowledgeable. I knew how to ride but this was definitely a game changer. And it’s only for two days but you learn a lot
Fantastic experience: This class was great in teaching the fundamentals of bike riding. I am confident that the skills I learned will help me in being a safe n conciencious rider. Thank you.
Fantastic experience: The class was great and the instructor Mo was very helpful
Fantastic experience: Training was fun and full of good tips, Jerry made the training safe, fun and a learning experience for all the participants no matter the level of experience.
Fantastic experience: Great training William was a very good instructor who has patience for everyone definitely recommended to friends and family
Fantastic experience: The class did not waste any time it was get relaxing excellent communication skills by the staff plenty of practice of basic skills to get comfortable riding on the roads I'm glad I took this course and I would highly recommend it to anyone whether they've ever been on a motorcycle or not
Charles, Thanks for the review. We highly recommend this class to everyone too. Its a great way to start out with riding and/or to get your license. Stay safe out there!
Fantastic experience: Instructors were fantastic. I went from having no experience to feeling comfortable on a motorcycle. There were even some experienced riders in my class that learned important new skills. I highly recommend this course.
Ryan, These classes assume you have no experience on a motorcycle, but you're right. Everyone, no matter how much experience they have, will learn new things to keep them safe in these classes. Thanks.
Fantastic experience: CHiPs is extremely knowledgeable, knows how to communicate that information and gives you the solid foundation of being a safe and proficient rider, all while making it FUN. Just be sure to LISTEN to him.
Carlos, Thanks for the review. CHIPs teaches a lot of classes for MTC and really knows his stuff. Thanks!
Fantastic experience: The Instructor, Mac, was wonderful. He respected all the different levels of experience people brought with them to this class. No one was left out, or singled out to be a failure. This truly boosted my confidence and made me want to try harder to be a safe rider!
Craig, Thanks for the review. I know Mac works hard to make sure every student has the opportunity to learn.
Fantastic experience: Sonny is awesome! I love the stories! He made you feel comfortable! Learning was FUN!
Jules, Thank you for the review. Sonny has been teaching these classes literally for decades. He really knows his stuff and I'm sure he has gathered a lot of stories. Thanks!
Negative experience: I give this rating because of their independent contractor. MTC management and office staff was very professional and helpful. They went out of their way to help me. The Instructor Thomas P. while a very good instructor and others claim funny. He is a inconsistent grader. While I am not a professional coach. When you fail to follow instructions during their test you automatically fail the course. I made very small mistakes yet individuals who made larger mistakes that failed to follow instructions were able to receive their license. I wasted a lot of time and money taking this course TWICE.
Negative experience: Go ANYWHERE but here Called and talked to Renee who was short with me the whole time and extremely rude. she hung up on me twice. Not sure what did to her, especially considering answering these calls is her job. You'd think they'd hire someone with a bit more patience or with a better attitude. After reading these reviews it looks like others have experienced the same thing. she must be having a bad day lol. 235 dollars for a 170 dollar course anywhere else, and you're not paying for the customer service.
Fantastic experience: I had called two times in the past year before I made up my mind to take the motorcycle class. The lady on the phone was very courteous every time and answered all my questions. Pretty much the same as stated online. Lol. Everybody should take this course. The instructor we had Thomas Pugh did an exceptional job. He was very good at pointing out your mistakes so you could improve and not make them on the road. I'm not sure how to explain it but the way he trained drove up my confidence, which in turn made me a better rider.
Negative experience: Paid the $170.00 special fee. The instructor Sonny was a major jerk and I didn't feel he was even a qualified teacher and felt I was learning nothing. Everyone in the class said the same thing outside ar the break. I called to reschedule during the first break and the lady told I could and would have the director call me for that . I left because I was told I could reschedule, when the director called he said he only had 2 complaints on this instructor so to bad, he wouldn't reschedule because that was to much of an extreme or refund my himoney. He basically screwed me. I would recommend Harley Davidson classes. They said they took the same class before and was very disatisfied themselves and we're unprofessional. I signed up with them so thanks for stealing my money after your representative told me I could reschedule so I left. That isn't right to tell someone that then you screw them..... MTC SUCKS BIG TIME AND THE DIRECTOR IS A JERK ALSO.... The owner does not care about complaints and is not understanding in any way. I would recommend staying away and if you dont, don't ask any questions the instructor may think is stupid bexause he will try to make you feel stupid and then try to make it look like it was your fault he got mad.... They do not look at your true complaint. Mine was, simple and I called during my break. I did not leave until I was, told I could reschedule and then told to bad, it's to extreme of a request. Teally, your instructor didn't have a clue except what he thought was the rightvqeurions and now because I asked a simple question he didn't like I'm our my money. You can't take adva5of people like that and get away with it. I was willing as wanted a simple solution to do a different class and instructor an ad you gave me no opinions. You will. I will see my full legal options come your wat.
Negative experience: Called to get information over phone and lady who answered phone was rude. She must have felt I was wasting her time. As she hanged up on me after one question. Thanks anyway will go somewhere else. Can just imagine how awful it be to take a rider course if they give zero ***** about a couple questions over phone.
Jose,
I am Chris (the owner of MTC) and I was in Renee's office when you called. (I assume it was you because the caller ID has your name about the time I was there) You asked one question, if we offered the class in Spanish? Renee apologized that we did not currently have any instructors that speak Spanish in this area. (we are always on the look out for coaches that can speak as its hard to find them) Then you asked if we knew of anywhere that did offer classes in Spanish. Renee had other customers on hold, but she googled one of our competitors and gave you his number, twice. Then she closed the window and was about to get ready for the next customer but you still didn't get the number. She googled it again and re read you our competitors number 4 more times until you got it written down correctly. I would bet that no other training sponsor in the area would go out of their way to help you like that and give out our competitors phone number. I guess no good deed goes unpunished?
