KBEE'S Driving School

Negative experience: I was travelling north on Rt 202 behind a vehicle driving with a KBEE'S driving school sign on top of it. The car was operating erratically, changing lanes often, and incapable of maintaining a constant speed. It would be speeding in the right lanes and, when in the left lane, going under the speed limit. We assumed it was a student driving, and we were shocked as we passed the car. The driving instructor was alone in the vehicle (later identified as Karen, the owner). It is difficult to believe this person is teaching people how to drive when she cannot drive properly herself. You have been warned.

Negative experience: 1star is far to generous.. my daughter had her 1st lesson yesterday. She came home in tears. She said she was rude and disrespectful.Both my husband and I said just stick it out , it’s only 4 more hours. Was supposed to have a 2nd lesson today at 3. Showed up at 2:20 and demanded the lesson was now. She then said she needed to talk to me privately. I reluctantly agreed and she went on to say how my daughter was the worst student she ever had. I then simply said this isn’t working . She refused to give back my daughter’s original birth certificate and permit. I demanded the birth certificate and finally got that back. By this point , my daughter was standing in front of her car and she put it in drive and actually hit her trying to get out of the driveway. We did call the police. DO NOT use this woman. How she is a driving instructor is beyond me. How she even has a drivers license is beyond me.She was aggressive towards my daughter in the lesson and today with both of us. Never got the permit back. And refuses to give us a refund.

Fantastic experience: Karen taught both my children to drive. Karen has done an amazing job again ( My son just passed the road test)She was very thorough teaching both my kids. She was certain they understood the correct way to drive . Hands in the right place on the wheel, signaling , etc.Teenagers are not easy to teach and she was always kind and wanted to be certain they were safe. I have recommended Kbee driving school and all have been very happy!

Negative experience: Hello I had my first lesson with Karen a few weeks ago and just like the other review said how is she still in business, I am not trying to be mean writing this review but it’s the truth, I am perfectly fine without using a seat cushion because I drive my moms Mini suv (Toyota rav4) she kept pushing me to sit on the cushion and I stood my ground and did some self advocacy and felt like I was being pushed to sit on it, once that was settled we drove off, I had an accident back in December of 2023 and was scared to go back on on the highway, we didn’t do highway for our lesson but she made me to go home, she did not respect my boundaries and I had my own way of doing things and I tried to explain that to her but she didn’t listen, she also made a comment about the way I had my hands on the steering wheel, I personally think there is no wrong or right way to drive with the steering wheel everyone has their own way of driving and she said “is that how your driving instructor taught you” to top it all off when I was 1 hour and 45 minutes into the lesson it was long and painful and did not feel comfortable with Karen with me, she kept singing and I did not want to be rude and tell her to shut up, we were heading home and she wanted to drive around the neighborhood but I was done for the day and asked to go home and she was like no we’re driving around the neighborhood to top it all off when I went to ask my mom to talk with her Karen was being so damn noisy and saying oh if you wanna talk we can talk like it’s not your business, me and mom both agree this is a no go and absolutely worst driving ever and it was first one, I know there are some good ones and I ended up being an unlucky person to encounter all this, I previously did another driving school Kessler in Orange County and that was way better than this one would not recommend Karen pushed all my boundaries and limits and was not very respectful, update; she had reached out to my mom and I acting like her feelings got hurt, Karen, it’s just a review I am putting all honesty out there and I will not delete this like boo boo your feelings got hurt like sorry?

Fantastic experience: I had an awesome time getting my permit within 6 hours. I learned a lot while also having fun. Karen was very easy to talk to and helpful if I was struggling with driving!! Highly recommend!!

Fantastic experience: Our daughter had her driving lessons with Karen and she was such a wonderful, calm, and kind instructor. We have had friends with horrible experiences at other places and we were so relieved to have Karen be our teacher. Our schedule was so crazy, but Karen worked well with us to find session times that worked with us. She is more than encouraging and exactly what is needed for a first time driver. She was VERY careful to teach Lotus all of the basics ! Thank you Karen!

Negative experience: If I could give negative stars I would. It is a marvel to me how Ms. Karen is still in buisness. She would talk to me about inappropriate things with a minor to a minor. Extremely unprofessional. For every one of our lessons, she was either way too early or late and had no clue what lesson we were on or what we were doing. I waited a month for my permit when this should've taken less than a week. First of all before my lessons even begun, she tried to get my permit validated before the 6 hours. She argued with the manager of the dmv until they threatened to send my permit to Trenton. Then during lessons, she would grab the wheel unexpectedly and jerk it to cut off multiple cars several times throughout our lessons. She also slams on her brake pedal at times when she doesn't need to and freaks out for no valid reason. For ex, going 2 miles over the speed limit (not exaggerated). We did 2 lessons and then I had to wait a month for my last lesson due to her car breaking down. And then she showed up hours earlier than we scheduled and never asked if that was OK for me. Then I waited another week after my last lesson for my permit to get validated. This was because she forgot the papers I needed to bring to the dmv. Karen was a nightmare to deal with and even more so driving with. She shouldn't be driving much less teaching it.

Fantastic experience: Karen is a great instructor patient and helpful. I passed my road test on the first try. Thank you Karen so much!

Negative experience: Karen is not the best at all. My son have been waiting for weeks now to learn how to drive. She took him out one time while her hand was broken .. unsafe as ever. She told him she had to put her case on by the way I had no idea her hand was broken. She asked my 16 year old if he vaped and if so she will take him to get it so they can vape together. She stop to get something and kept asking him if he had the 150 because she love money . When my son came home he said he never wanted to go back because she made him uncomfortable. Tell him the she had a boyfriend while having a husband not ok for a children to know I’m unhappy and mad cuz my son learned nothing

Fantastic experience: Great experience, and Karen made driving ten times more relaxing and fun. Her bright attitude and talkative manner never failed to cheer me up. At first, I was nervous about driving, but with Karen’s professional teachings and tips, I started to feel way more confident in a car than when I started out. Thanks Karen!

Negative experience: What a nightmare experience. As another reviewer said, If I could give no stars - I would. I signed my daughter up for the all inclusive teen driving package back in October 2021. Getting my daughter’s permit issued was a logistical nightmare - for some reason, my daughter’s SS# was “linked to another driving record.” This resulted in repeated lengthy text messages that went off the rails. Then I had to meet the owner at the DMV and I had to go inside the DMV and straighten it out myself. Days and nights of huge stress plus a half a day of lost wages to handle the DMV visit. The problems didn’t end there. We had to make our own appointment with the DMV for the knowledge test - which every other driving school I reached out to handles as part of their service. Multiple appointments didn’t work with the owner’s schedule. I finally scheduled with a mobile unit several months ago. Turns out the mobile unit does not do knowledge tests. My poor daughter had to listen to the owner complaining (bitterly, with crying) the entire ride home. Again, I had to haunt the DMV website to try and schedule an appointment that worked when my daughter was home and that worked with the owner’s schedule. Finally got an appointment in late July ‘22 (yes, 7 months after signing up for this service!!!) and the owner said she would meet us at the DMV (not pick her up - no refresher/prep/warm up for the written test). My daughter failed the written exam. So I haunted the DMV website again, managed to get another appointment for 8/19 at one of the two DMV sites that the owner specified. And the owner wants to be paid for each DMV visit. Due to my daughter’s school schedule and the need for us to make other plans in the next 3 weeks, I reached out to a few other area driving schools and found one that is qualified to administer the written exam at their office and made an appointment for 8/5. Reached out to the owner to request that she forward my daughter’s permit to the new driving school - as is required by law under the NJ title 39. At this point the owner flatly refused to forward my daughter’s permit and also flatly refused to even acknowledge my request for a refund of the balance of the prepaid program. Because my daughter is now 17, I have to go to DMV and purchase a NEW permit, and, take my daughter for the test at the DMV because the new driving school cannot administer the written test without the original J permit that I paid for and went through hellacious amounts of stress to get in the first place. This NEVER should have taken NINE MONTHS to get to the point where we are starting all over again because the owner is being vindictive and refusing to release my daughter’s permit to the new driving school. I was overly patient and worked very hard to try and work with this school but my daughter has been waiting for almost a FULL YEAR and we basically have nothing to show for it except a lot of effort and frustration and expense and stress on MY part. The refusal to forward my daughter’s permit was, literally, the last straw. I recommend you read (and believe!) the (other) negative reviews. I really did want this to work out - but my daughter is understandably really upset that it has taken almost a full year and we still haven’t even gotten past the written knowledge test. And I am fatigued, stressed, and extremely upset that we now have to start all over again. Repeating again - ALL of the other area driving schools that I reached out to were shocked that it has taken so long and that we were made to be responsible for scheduling the DMV knowledge test appointments. I tried to work this out amicably with the owner but she flat out refused to cooperate with transferring the permit to the new driving school. Customer service? What a concept.

Fantastic experience: Karen is one of the the best of not the best driving instructors I’ve ever had the pleasure to work with she gave me the confidence to pass and get my license when before I was so nervous about driving obviously with a teacher it can come down to compatibility between student and teacher but I think she could teach driving to a rock thank you Karen! 10/10

Fantastic experience: Fantastic school/teacher, I would highly recommend this school to ANYONE. As an older driver who had not driven in many years, Karen took her time, was patient and knowledgeable. I passed my road test with flying colors THE FIRST TIME!

Fantastic experience: Karen is a great teacher, she was patient and was great at communicating. She is a positive person. I am deaf with a cochlear implant. I was nervous because I wasn’t sure if I will be able to understand her but I was wrong. She used some of the tricks to communicate with me and she had taught me so much! I do appreciate her. Thank you for everything.

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend this driving school. She was was patient, always was available for her students. Very knowledgeable and professional school. Made me definitely comfortable being behind the wheels first time and knowing I'm at the good hands with this school. I wouldn't be the great driver with having the skills learned with this school. I never had any accidents after I passed the lesson with KBEES School. Some of the comment I definitely see is very surprising and definitely not true, the bad comments/reviews are people/parents that were scared to speak up their problems or concerns, which is very unprofessional. If you are looking for a great driving school. Give them a phone call and you will me amazed the results your child will get after lessons. HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Fantastic experience: Just had my first lesson with Karen today and she was amazing. I was horrified to go on an actual road, but she got me to drive on an actual road at 45mph. She's an amazing driving teacher and a really cool person in general. I'm excited for my next lesson :)

Easy to schedule, flexible for us when dates had to change, and we were able to schedule my daughter to drive within days after contacting KBees. My daughter really enjoyed driving with her and she learned a lot during her driving lessons. KBees is also quick to respond to any and all questions. I highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I truly enjoyed my time learning how to drive with Karen. She understands the rules of the road impeccably, and not only that, but she is honest, forthcoming, and kind. There are some bad reviews on here, whether it’s about vaping or eating in the car, but her life choices should hardly affect your review on here. That being said, I am going to recommend to as many friends as possible.

Fantastic experience: Me and 2 of my friends all took kbee’s driving school and all passed the road test 1st try! Definitely the best of the best. She is very nice and teaches everything you need to know on the road. Prices were very fair and she is always on schedule and even arrives early!

Fantastic experience: Karen has been a very good and reliable driving teacher for both of my boys. She handled their anxiety very well. One of my sons had a not so great experience with another teacher and then switched to Karen and he felt she was a much better teacher. Very pleased !

Fantastic experience: Karen is a great teacher, she was very patient with me and I was nervous. She emphasizes proper form, which I now feel is very important. We had fun while I was learning, Karen kept me talking to keep me calm and we listened to music and drove around on of the most beautiful byways of New Jersey. I was fully prepared for my test, which I passed and now that I'm a driver I am confident that I can successfully parallel park a car in my beautiful river town. I can't recommend KBees Driving School enough. Thanks so much for a great experience Karen!

Negative experience: If I could have given no stars, I would. She took my daughter for lessons. She asked permission to vape with my daughter in the car and was appalled when I said no. She asked me to provide research that indicates vaping is bad for you. SERIOUSLY?? Singing in the car, playing distracting music, failure to give actual directions as my daughter attempts the Flemington circle for the first time! Fighting loudly with the people at DMV with my daughter and friends standing there. She was mortified. Made my daughter stop for food at Panera where she ran into a family friend, and Karen was so rude to them. All interactions with Karen were bizarre and inappropriate. Taking my son elsewhere. Stay away!

Fantastic experience: Decided to go with KBee for my daughter after my son had a bad experience with an unamed driving school and boy are we happy we did. My daughter received fantastic instruction from the start. She had never been behind the wheel and Karen made her feel at ease, we paid extra for another 2 hours but it was worth it, so worth it as a matter of fact, that we had our son take a 2 hour lesson with her so he could go over details like adjusting his mirror, where to look when parallel parking and how to make smoother turns. His driving improved a 100%! I highly recommend Karen and KBee driving school.

Fantastic experience: My son just finished the last 2 hours of his six hours of lessons! (I even got to go for a quick ride with them) He loved Karen, she really taught him a lot! He was so excited today....he got the parallel parking on his first try! She is very thorough, took him all around, even the circles in Flemington and the highways. She worked with him and explained things so he could easily understand. She is so upbeat, and patient! This is our second time using a Karen, as my daughter had her three years ago....I HIGHLY recommend Karen and Kbee driving school!!

Fantastic experience: I was very pleased. My son had already completed the required 6 hours but knew nothing about the fine details of driving. Karen came in with short notice and saved the day. She was courteous and accommodating. She picked my son up on time, went over details like adjusting his mirror and where to look when parallel parking. Two hours later she transported him to the DMV, facilitated his driving test, picked up his license and dropped him back home afterwards. What can say? She was awesome!

Fantastic experience: The best driving instructor in this world is Mrs. Karen. I never forget my sad experience but thanks to Mrs. Karen, now I'm driving. She was calm, kind, and efficient. The best part is she handle a difficult and slow student like me with her calm & kind manners. I will always salute her, if all the teachers are like her this world would be accident free! A teacher that you must use!

Fantastic experience: Both of my children took driving lessons with Karen. She is very accommodating in scheduling and willing to pick up her students from any locations. She is very enthusiastic about teaching driving. She takes her students to drive in real life situations not just circling in quiet neighborhoods where hardly any cars drive by, so students get a taste of what "driving" is really all about. Her price is very compatible, too. I highly recommend her.

Fantastic experience: My son had a really nice experience with the school. She put him at ease right away; he learned to drive and a good time doing it. KBee is priced very reasonably and they're more than willing to work with your schedule.

Fantastic experience: I did my lessons with Karen all this week and I can't say anything bad about her and my experience. She was great! She taught me so much and made it fun and great! She knew what she was doing and just connected really well with me. She's great and I have no concerns that i'll be doing out on the road great cause of her! I really recommend her 11/10!!

Negative experience: We just had THE WORST experience ever with Karen. I don't even know where to begin!! She was late 2 out of 3 days, had Pokemon Go on her phone while it was sitting on the dashboard of her car even while the student was driving, Making her watch YouTube videos To "teach", Had her hand on the wheel majority of the time, Has a fuzzy steering wheel cover which is a huge distraction, Did not let student sit close enough the the pedals, Blamed student for slamming on the breaks too hard and spilling soup which was in the backseat and then preceded to "clean the mess" during the driving time, very unorganized, is "holding" the students birth certificate for almost a full week.. We are furious with this unprofessional instructor!!!

Fantastic experience: Don't listen to Kayla, Karen is a great instructor, sheso very energetic and has a great personality. And she helped me pass my drivers test on the first time. So she's is a great driving instructor.

Negative experience: Not a very good expierence at all, she did not teach me everything I needed to know and half the things were wrong. She also ended up literally harassing me on my cellphone through text telling me how horrible and cruel I was for two days straight because I left a bad review on another site. My recommendation is to stay clear of her and to find another place or someone willing to help teach you!

Fantastic experience: Always on time! Loved the enthusiasm! Price beat other schools too. Highly suggest to any student of any age or experience.
