Merkley's Driving School

Fantastic experience: We've had a great experience with Merkley's for both of our teens. They received excellent instruction, and the licensing process was tremendously smooth. I would recommend them to others without hesitation.

Negative experience: I wouldn’t trust this place to teach driving based on my interaction with one of their drivers today. The car turned right on red into oncoming traffic. Slowed down to my same speed and tried to get over into my lane. They were apparently upset that I didn’t slam on my brakes to let them over and they proceeded to road rage and honk at me for simply driving and following right of way. Whether it was a student who was poorly instructed or an instructor, it was enough evidence for me to steer clear of the school.

Fantastic experience: Nicest people on the planet! I do not know any other way of getting a drivers license without Merkely's! Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: Class and drive times were amazing! My son was extremely nervous about driving with the instructors and it couldn't have been a better experience. He had Cam, Jamin, and Christian and they were all extremely friendly and made the drive time fun. Couldn't recommend Merkley's more!

Fantastic experience: Merkleys is the best place to go if you have a teenage driver just starting out. My daughter started Merkleys @15 and has really loved every minute of it. She even comes home and shares lessons she learned with me. Their employee's are also GREAT!!

Positive experience: Can I get driver license if I have no car? I alradey send email and massage but they are no answer.

Fantastic experience: I wish I could give them 1000 stars!!! Seriously the best people ever, so friendly and helpful! Complete night and day experience compared to other driving schools and the dreaded DPS. I’ve been through it 4 times now with 4 different kids and if I had it do over again I’d choose Merkley’s Driving School every time, hands down. Thank you for making something that is often super stressful absolutely a breeze. Worth every penny! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Fantastic experience: Went here myself some years ago and now my oldest is there

Negative experience: We had a class scheduled for today at 8, we were here 15 minutes before and doors were closed. No signs on the door or any notice on our email, Not even a call. There were tons of people waiting too. This is unacceptable!!!!

Fantastic experience: All I have to say is, yes! Merkley's is the best driving school in OKC/Edmond! They explained everything so clearly in the classroom and in the car! I was able to get my permit then my license so quickly through this school! Works for teems and adults! 10/10 recommended for anyone needing a driving school! They also offer defensive driving! The Golden ticket you get at the end of the clas can help with insurance cost!

Fantastic experience: I have extreme, bad anxiety, like I would have NEVER thought I would get my license ever. So I took some classes here (on road) to get comfortable. The instructor was extremely patient and educational. This place has a professional setting and everyone was so welcoming. I HIGHLY recommend for anyone (no matter what age) to come to this school and get your license because it was easier than I thought, due to the professionalism and education they provided. Please never give up and try this place out if you want your license!!! :) I would give this place 10 stars if I could.

Fantastic experience: We have really enjoyed Merkley’s! They make it so easy for you to help your teen get a permit, license and proper training. Plus they’re super friendly! I’m so glad we decided to use them for this whole process!!!!!

Positive experience: I would rate Merkley's a 5, but I never give a 5 to a driving school. The instructor, Nancy is a thorough, exceptionally nice person with a light hearted teaching style. She was genuinely interested in the indidual students and recounted past classes to instruct students to be mindful of their driving. Going to a class is preferable to an online class because you get to interact with and question the instructor at different points. Like all defensive driving classes, there is an over emphasis on demonizing speed and and under emphasis on accident recovery techniques. The Solomon curve shows that the accident involvement rate is higher for people traveling 5 mph below the average speed than for people traveling 15 mph above the average on an interstate highway. Though topics like that weren't covered, the instructor made up for it in other ways. I hope to never have to take one of these classes again, but if I do, it will be here.

Fantastic experience: 4 of my 5 kids have had the pleasure of attending Merkley's Driving School. Not only are they super informative, but they deliver their instruction through entertaining stories. My kids feel like they are family and I just love that feeling. I don't trust many people with my kids, but I do the Merkleys. Their family-operated business is top notch. DO IT.

Fantastic experience: I am very happy that I sent my daughter to this driving school. After using the other somewhat popular driving school in Edmond with my son, this was a drastically better experience. My daughter could not say enough good things about the man (I'm assuming the owner) who taught the classes. He made the class time enjoyable (and even funny) and taught things in ways that the kids will actually remember what they learned. The driving instructors are great too. I specifically wanted female driving instructors and they were very nice and accommodating about my request. I highly recommend this school!

Fantastic experience: They were extremely nice and encouraging. I only paid $120 for the hours drive practice AND the test for my license. Spencer and Ashley (and the whole staff!!) are amazingly nice!!
