A & J Driving School: Reviews
Negative experience: Been trying for 2 months to get my son’s driving test scheduled. (He’s completed the classes) Let messages. Now can’t leave messages.
Fantastic experience: These guys are great. They have A TON of stuff going on at all times with running these classes, dealing with kids forgetting things, rescheduling when the schedule already tight, etc... I would lose my cool with everything they have going on, but Ann is great at keeping it all straight and doesn't freak out on anyone (that's a superpower I'd love to have) Jason and Ann are both great driving instructors! Also, this is Lindsay Kennedy, Not Kevin☺️
Negative experience: DO NOT USE this place. They were the most unprofessional, rude, and verbally abusive people I've had to deal with in a business setting. They sent mass texts exposing over a dozen kids' private information in order to chastise teenagers over situations beyond their control. They insisted on bringing up toxic political discussions during drives, telling my daughter that anxiety isn't a real thing, and discussed other students' standing with them in front of others. Unprofessional and perpetually angry people do NOT deserve your hard-earned money!
Negative experience: I have been calling here for almost 4 weeks trying to get some answers that the dmv ( drivers license office) told me to call and ask about. I've left I'm sure at least 10 messages asking for a return phone call & no one has bothered to call me back. I honestly don't see how these people can stay in business, running a business like this. It's almost like they can't be bothered with mundane things like returning phone calls. I guess they think bc they're 1 of 2 driving schools in this area, that it won't affect them. I guess they aren't aware that the dept of licensing has already got other driving schools they're working on opening. My review may not mean anything but I hope it will help others decide not to use this service.... considering that it's not much of a service anyway!
Fantastic experience: Love this place learned a lot super cool and nice people
Negative experience: Very bad treatment. They just want your money. If you can go somewhere else, do it. They don’t pass you just so you pay them more money, even if u do everything right. They are racist.
Negative experience: Very unprofessional, Ann thinks it is ok to yell at minors and get in their face. They NEVER answer their phone, When asked why she said the kids have her cell, but when My kid called her multiple times, there was still no answer, and to top it off, she yelled at him for calling her when he went to the office. Both Ann and her husband are racist and have made racist remarks in the car while going on drives, making my son very uncomfortable. Do not use their school other schools in the area will treat your kid better. If this has happened to you and your Child please join me and file a complaint with the BBB. This school is only in it for the money and the more they can squeeze out of you by failing your child the better for them.
Fantastic experience: Thank you, Ann and Jason!!! I recommend this school!! I took their class and then took my skills test and passed both, first attempt!! Thanks again!! MT
Negative experience: Never again! Moody instructors. Very poor communication. Over priced for the level of instruction.
Fantastic experience: Great driving school..My daughter passed the first time.Highly recommend
Negative experience: The older woman who works here is very crude and should retire if she doesn’t like being around humans, slamming doors and passive aggressively telling people off is not cool. If possible save yourself and attend someplace else, It’s unfortunate that there is not more driving schools in this area.
Negative experience: I'm not sure how they are still open. They do not respond to calls, or emails. One day the voicemail will be full, they next you can leave a message again. It's like they wait until it's full and delete without returning calls. I had to file a report with the BBB to get a call back. If they are not willing to run a business, they should just close the doors.
Positive experience: Friendly folks who run this school and testing site. Reasonable pricing and state accredited
Fantastic experience: My daughter enjoyed learning to drive in a safe supportive environment.
Negative experience: No one ever answers the phone and the voicemail is full.
Negative experience: Communication is horrible. I have called multiple times and never got someone nor got a call back. I would recommend people to go elsewhere.
Negative experience: They never answered the phone , and never call u back , they need to close their door
Negative experience: I’m extremely disappointed with this school. I was able to get through the course and take all of my test but when I as soon as I tried to schedule my skills drive they stopped answering any messages. I tried scheduling 12/17/21 and it is now 2/9/22. We’ve left dozens of calls and voicemails, many emails and even went as far as leaving a note but nothing. I’ve ended up having to get it done at Cowlitz Driving School for an additional fee. Save your money and go somewhere else.
Negative experience: These people do not return phone calls and are never available. My son took the class starting 12/20.. everything was online. They were never available to schedule the driving portion.. they never returned phone calls, emails or even notes left on their door. I ended up having to go to Cowlitz Driving school for the knowledge test for my son to get his permit..$25…after more months of calling I finally called a cell number given by another angry parent.. they never answered until I called from my job which is a medical facility. Their comment was that they would have not answered except they were waiting for their doctor to call.. so finally got the drives scheduled.. in May.. only thing that was left was his final drive that had to be scheduled.. again ghosted.. Now it’s November and now have my son scheduled with Cowlitz to take his final diving test…So unprofessional.. it is worth your wait if there’s a wait list at Cowlitz.. they were always there when I called.. should have gone to them in the first place. I will be putting in a complaint with the DOL.
Negative experience: the woman is a rude and unkind person, not a nice lady at all.shouldnt be working with younger adults.instantly had a bad attuide.
Negative experience: Never respond to phone messages. You show up and nobody is there. Been waiting over FOUR WEEKS for my son's written test results to be sent to the DMV, and they still haven't. This is the most ridiculous system I've ever heard of - farming out driving tests to shady, fly by night driving schools that are obviously not held very accountable. That's two out of the three driving schools in Longview that are useless.
Negative experience: They will never call you back or answer your phone calls. I never got my drives scheduled on time they never tried to help me. I recommend actually going in and firmly telling them what you need. Very unprofessional for the price.
Negative experience: My daughter attended their classes in March and has yet to be contacted to schedule the drives that are included. I have sent multiple emails and left multiple messages on their machine regarding this without any contact.
Fantastic experience: I would like to take a moment to commend Ann & Brittney for assisting us with my son’s driver training. He missed a class and we had a communication mix up with getting it rescheduled. After we sorted out what needed to happen Ann went out of her way to make sure that he was able to complete the course and testing before his birthday. We appreciate the flexibility and commitment to making sure he was squared away on his birthday :)
Negative experience: We paid up front for our Daughters driving school. She attended every class and half the time the instructor was talking to someone else in the room. She often spoke to someone named Brittany off camera about making dinner and "drama" that the person had. My daughter finished her class and took the written test however we can not get her to schedule drive times. It has been almost 3 months with multiple calls and emails and nothing in return
Negative experience: Absolutely no one will call or email you back. I went to the DMV and they said everyone is complaining about A&J. But then said they can’t let my daughter take her test there or online. What is a person suppose to do when you’ve already paid for services but your not getting them!
Negative experience: AJ will not return calls emails or any form of communication. My nephew has not been able to schedule even one drive and he finished all of his classes on December 8th. Now my sister is stuck paying for another driving school because of their incompetence.
Fantastic experience: Great place for my daughter to learn to drive. Covid has changed things up a little, so be patient stand by the door with your mask and someone will help you.
Fantastic experience: Ivan makes learning how to drive efficient and easy. 10 out of 10 would recommend
Fantastic experience: Great people and class
Fantastic experience: Best driving school you can go to
Fantastic experience: I would give this place a 5 star rating because even though it took a few times to pass they were verry nice and helpful. If you are looking for a good school to go to i would recommend this one. Ann and Jason are really nice. Ann and Jason are super nice and helpful when you are doing the drive tests.
Negative experience: If I could give a negative 10 for this company I would. When my daughter took her first test there the female owner was rude and had a bad attitude right from the start. Does not give the student driver any reason to be encouraged or feel confident to take the driving test. My daughter is a pretty good driver but this woman's attitude overall made it impossible for her to focus. She shouldn't be in the business of helping others if this is her attitude all the time. And from the reviews I've read, it seems to be an ongoing thing with her! Only reason I did not call them up to say anything to her about it is because I was asked not to. And on top of that she failed her and did not have the courtesy to explain why. How more unprofessional can you be? The second test my daughter took there, she was failed right out of the driveway by the male owner. But he was kind enough to calmly explain to her why he failed her on the entire test (right out of the driveway), even though I thought that was total BS....he still explained his reasons why. This messed with her self confidence for a long time and it made her doubt if she should even get a drivers license. She's a mom and I encouraged her to do so. I have helped her with getting more drive time in and she has greatly improved. She is retaking her driving test just not at this location. If they don't get that woman in check with her rude/nasty attitude, they need to either get rid of her or close this location. I do not recommend this driving school.
Fantastic experience: I had an amazing experience at A&J Driving School. Very helpful and had great attitudes towards my classmates and I. Ann did most of the instructing and never failed to include students in the learning. I went with Jason most of my drives and he was always very helpful and made me feel more comfortable driving. I never really got to interact with their daughter but the few times I did she was always very polite and encouraging.
Negative experience: Unprofessional, after numerous attempts to find out more information about costs and scheduling via phone callS and emailS I stopped by during normal business hours a couple of times to find no one there.
Negative experience: Called and scheduled an appointment, showed up on time at 1:30 on the right day and not a single person was there, lights were off, door was locked. So I called when I got home later that day and Anne claimed she got there at 1:28.. Well she wasn't .
Fantastic experience: I honestly don't know why this school is not rated 5 stars. Coming to ann and jason school I was a little nervous because I was older than 18. But, it was no problem ann couldn't help me with. This school has taught me so much things I thought I knew just being a self taught driver. If you say you did not get anything out of this driving course is because didn't apply you're self or have taken this serious.
Negative experience: Been trying to call for 6 weeks. Must have left three messages and called over 20 times throughout the months.
Fantastic experience: Both of my kids have enjoyed learning to drive here. And with a boy who is 6'6" it's hard to find a car he could fit in. He was able to learn in theirs.
Negative experience: They do not return phone calls or emails. I left 3 messages as no one answers the phone. I even left them my Cell and Work phone number and I emailed them through their site as well. I did not receive one response back. Would not recommend doing business with anyone who will not return phone calls. Only gave 1 star as it will not let me give less.
Fantastic experience: It was very professional. And to take the written they take you into a back room with desks away from the waiting area. I am very satisfied with my experience there.
