Negative experience: This is the absolute worse driving school by far. Dorothy is anything but a teacher. You are getting paid to help people learn the laws of the road and also getting paid for helping NEW young or old drivers learn how to drive. Who is she to tell someone that paid money. It isn't my job to teach you how to do a 3 point turn. One of my biggest regrets sending my teen to this horrible fake driving school. Garbage.

Fantastic experience: my instructor for my lessons was elson and he was great. elson always addressed my questions and concerns during my lessons and i learned how to drive safe and effectively while learning with him. i would strongly recommend him to anyone who considers using martin’s driving school

Fantastic experience: i drove with elson, and he is the coolest guy ever. hes very calm and when you make mistakes he corrects you kindly and doesnt make you overthink it. he helped me overcome my fear of driving on the highway, and he was very reasurring with my concerns or questions about getting my license. elson is also a really interesting guy and i had alot of fun talking to him during my lessons, and he taught me alot of new things about driving! i definitely recommend driving with elson, hes by far the kindest and calmest teacher they have

Negative experience: Do not recommend this school. Rude staff, especially Dorothy. She speaks to students in a condescending tone & she is a racist in a city populated by many people of color. She is very unprofessional.

Fantastic experience: As a student who passed my road tests from this school I can confirm that this is definitely the place to go if you wish to pass your tests. The instructors are all very helpful and supportive in getting you your permit/license and will have you passing the exam like it’s nothing! Definitely worth the time and investment.

Negative experience: After paying $400 for the course, on the final night, my child was told he would not be allowed to take the test because he had not returned the plain Manila folder the practice test had been given to him in.

Fantastic experience: THANK YOU Mr. Nelson for all your teaching, support and encouragement during my road test and I passed. I highly recommend your driving school for new students because of your good character and unselfish knowldege. I hope you can teach more students in the future. THANK YOU VERY MUCH AGAIN...

Fantastic experience: Went to the actually school part with Brenda and it was great. Currently taking classes with Elson and he is absolutely outstanding. He makes every lesson worthwhile and cares about his students. The reviews don’t state the true worth of this place.

Negative experience: The instructor was extremely disrespectful, rude. Worsened my driving to the point of panic attacks every lesson. If you love your kids or even tolerate them do not send them here . My instructor was also very bigoted and made multiple inappropriate and extremely inconsiderate remarks while instructing.

Paga o que deves a quem deves que não são poucos. Contratas as pessoas para fazer os trabalhos na tua casa e depois ficas a dever o trabalho deles. Nao tems vergonha na cara. Helen Martin's pay what you owe, instead of looking for employees. You hire people to do the work in your home, than you owe them there work. Pay what you, and learn how to clean your face. I would be embarrassed to walk around as you do.

Negative experience: False information given just to get you off phone. They can’t be bothered with any issues or concerns.

Positive experience: I had my classes everything went well and I passed my test. Overall, the teacher was amazing. Her name was Brenda. 10/10 It’s been 3 weeks of me trying to schedule my driving lessons with no calls, no text, no emails,no nothing back in regards I’ve been reaching out multiple times… I think they need to work on their answering services. Other than that the school is OK.

Negative experience: Definitely would not pick this place again if I needed to for anyone. My son hated the driving instructor some days were on wrong street to pick him up then said he was late for his lesson ! One day they never showed up for his lesson! Took a month to get him in to make up their screw up for his last lesson. Then you pay all the fees upfront ! But don’t tell you you still have to pay $150 if you want to go with them on day of test plus the rmv cost still.

Negative experience: If i could give 0 i would. When i was learning to drive if i made a mistake Mr. Martin would smack me in the side of my arm sometimes. He would yell. He had me stop at a convenient store so he could run in a get stuff. Last time i check i was trying to learn to drive. Not uber you to go grocery shopping. He also told me i was never going to get my license. Thank God i had my amazing father and mother to teach me what i needed to learn to pass my test. On the first try might i add. I forgot the name of the woman who taught my class before the drive times started but she was amazing. She made learning everything fun. Made it so easy to remember everything for the tests in class. If she was in charge of the school it would be an amazing place

Negative experience: highly disappointed in there service, they can’t respond to my texts or calls, it took me forever to plan for my driving lesions because they wouldn’t pick up the phone or get back to my voice mails. horrible school i don’t recommend.

Fantastic experience: I took only four lessons with brenda an on this day I passed my road test all because of brenda .If anyone wants to pass there road test with confidence please ask for brenda or her husband James there so nice and helpful they have way more patience than any other instructor in this town I will always support them an there business ~love always syanne

Positive experience: They taught me most of what I needed to know to be a good and safe driver, but they are very impatient. The instructor kept threatening me by saying “I’m gonna tell mr. Martin to teach you if you can’t remember what I tell you”. They don’t understand that, that just makes the learner more nervous and anxious and it will make them feel bad. Mr. Martin is as mean as the instructor made him sound, he would yell at you, step on the breaks in the middle of the street, call you names, and make very rude comments that have absolutely nothing to do with driving just to make you feel bad. And they would constantly say that you would need more lessons just to make more money. By the way I think Dorthy is a sweetheart and I think she deserves a raise and more vacation time.

Fantastic experience: My daughter was a very slow learner when it came to driving and like most kids she hated driving with her parents. Got her license first try after driving with Tony for her lessons. Her younger sister will be learning with Martin's soon.

Negative experience: i had the worst experience with Mr Martin. All he does is yell at you, embarrass you and give you anxiety he’s literally the reason why I don’t ever wanna drive again I do NOT recommend

Negative experience: The worst experience of my life!!!..the driving instructor had no patience all he did was always bump my shoulder.. saying that people my age never pay attention even though he didn’t know my age because he never asked for my permit before entertaining the car...he smacked my hand because of the way my hand was on the wheel and was very rude and disrespectful... he never showed me anything I needed to know for the road test...and he keeped saying” go go” as he also told me to go fast on a yellow light.. the worst experience I had to the point I wanted to give up and not drive any more...he was also late picking me up because he told me he got a hair cut knowing I paid for my full hour...I don’t recommend Martin’s driving school to anyone

Negative experience: This school has a very bad rating from the students who go through this school, they should take action on the matter and this Mr. Martin changes his attitude and what I see is that he does not change he likes to fumble a lot he has no patience for people who they're starting. People look for this school because the others are full but not because they like the school

Negative experience: Terrible service the instructor pushed my shoulder (he touched my shoulder in a rude way) said we are in America they have to speak English never in practice they taught everything so that you can continue taking classes with them and paying money. Too much money invested in the worst school in New Bedford. I will upload the video to the internet of how the instructor behaved during practice so that people know that at Martin driving school they are not professional. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM

Fantastic experience: My daughter had an excellent experience with Martin's. Her driving instructor was Nelson and he was great! I've also heard other parents from Middleborough recommending Martin's based upon their good experiences.

Fantastic experience: Extremely good went for one driving lesson and learned everything I needed to know.

Positive experience: Ms.lina was very nice and friendly screw all the bad posts this school was fun and I learned a lot and got 100s on my tests, easy peasy we also got 45 minutes lunches and we got to leave for that lunch break

Negative experience: The instructor was a fairly nice lady, when you sign up you expect lessons, but no, your signing up to be an uber driver. More times than not the instructor would ask to drive to her boyfriends work to pick him up along side some of his friends and drop them off at their houses. One time she literally copped some bread at a bakery, all whilst being left to sit in the car waiting. The instructor has you go many places that are her own personal errands opposed to teaching. The only thing you will get out of the road lessons is driving experience. Definitely not a way to "teach" how to drive. The classes are definitely misleading considering this is a Taxi Boot Camp not driving school...

Negative experience: Waste of time and money. I would pay for clssses in advance and he would say I didn’t pay when dropping me off. I called they said I only had proof if I had the receipt. I would pay him the $40 during the class. He never would schedule the test. Only having me book “classes” but never would wanna take thr next step in getting my license. I found that strange. I am going somewhere else. Waste of time.

Negative experience: UPDATE**** the post below was a first review. But since I was on the phone with the rmv earlier I thought I’d EXPOSE this Fraudulent business. I couldn’t believe it. What this business does is use inactive or “not ready for a road exam” People’s record to book Road Exams for other students. The rmv told me I had 46 ROAD EXAM CANCELATIONS!!!! FORTY SIX!!! And the rmv worker was so nice and experienced she explained to me what auto schools do is use people’s records to book road exams so the students doesn’t have to wait months to get one, and then 72 hours prior, try to cancel it under their name for another student!! I was left with cancellation fees because they didn’t cancel some on time and they refused to pay for it or even admit it. This is a disgusting family disgusting business. I will everything to expose these people and steer new students away from them. Taking advantage of people’s money I hope they get what they deserve!! If I could give 0 stars I would!! I know people like to think “people only write reviews if they’re bad” no! There is a good reason why this school has bad reviews. I spent SO much money on this school. They kept telling me I’m not ready, I need more practice. But yett kept scheduling (WITHOUT MY CONSENT) road tests. And I kept telling them no, I never agreed to a road test. They did this to me twice. And said “okay no problem we’ll cancel it” I went to schedule a road tear myself with the RMV and come to find out I have CANCELLION FEES!! I called the school nicely so we could figure this issue out and I’m assuming the wife of the owner was SO unprofessional eating on the phone being so rude and dismissive, saying “I don’t know what to tell you we cancelled on time it must’ve been something you did” and hung up on my face. SO DISGUSTING! And the owner is so rude whenever I went on lessons with him he would yell at me and slam on the brakes in the middle of the road, would always put his hands on wheel, basically wouldn’t even give me the chance. But when I drive with other people they said I did well. They were trying to hustle me for more money telling me I needed more practice just so I could keep spending money with them. And now I’m stuck paying all these fees they made because I NEVER even agreed to them scheduleing road tests for me. These people ruined a good amount of time of my life. I could’ve had my liscense a long time ago. Don’t go with them go with Lunds corner!!

Negative experience: One stars being nice! I wasted money on this dude 7 years ago. Biggest mistake ever! This guy is the most unprofessional guy you will ever meet running a business. If your not with his views then your life will be a living hell! Guy slams on his breaks in the middle of the city, screams at you and degrades you in his nearly impossible accent too understand and is completely in business for money and money only. Don’t trap yourself! Read the reviews online. I’m not the only one!

Negative experience: attempted to ask women to not use my vehicle to learn to parall park on nicely she proceeded with an attitude pretty much bowing me off with me basically begging her not to use my dead fathers car because im afraid it will be damaged. she didn't care. id give zero stars but forced with 1

Negative experience: This review is many years late. I took driver's ed with Martin's 7 years ago, and have been fuming about it ever since. Mr. Martin is a grade-A homophobe, who had the gall to rant about how gay soldiers "should be shot in the head" to me and my fellow students while we were in the car. I spoke up against him and he tried to justify his homophobia with biblical arguments. Some might fault me for writing this so many years later, but I'm just tired of letting homophobic BS go unchecked. Maybe Mr. Martin has since caught up with the times, but I doubt it. On top of this, the driving instruction was garbage. They were frequently late and during one session I was in the car for THREE HOURS as they drove four towns over to pick up several other students.

Negative experience: I truly wish I had sent my children to a different driving school...one of the worst customer relations I've ever dealt with..months to schedule an actual driving test...months..yet they were always at the top of the list...SMH!

Negative experience: Helena is a sweet women and good teacher however Mr.Martin was a living nightmare. If you care about your children do not send them here. Does not refer to students by name most of the time and berates them when they mess up, I got called "stupid girl" more often than my actual name. Instead of calmly correcting mistakes he yells and slams on breaks when it is not needed. Unsupportive and impatient, also his thick accent can make it difficult to understand instructions which wouldn't be a problem however when you question him, you get anger instead of understanding. Driving with him gave me driving anxiety.

Negative experience: Took one lesson and i was all set , i should have just listened to the reviews and to what my family and friends have said about this driving school. Martin was very impatient and had a rude vibe that did not settle well with me.

Negative experience: They were great during the driving hours but I had to call several times to schedule a road test. There was always a delay and they did not respond quickly.

Negative experience: I've literally been waiting over 5 weeks and they still hadn't gotten back to me for my road test, neither I got my certificate yet.

Negative experience: For the most part they were good. Last class they were late and then didnt show up at the time they rescheduled to and when my daughter called THEM to find out what the delay was and that she had to cancel because she needed to get to work, the woman on the other end of line told my daughter she would be charged for canceling $30 and as soon as my kid stood up for herself and said she was not paying that due to the fact it wasnt her fault they were running late, the woman proceeded to hang up on her. I called back immediately and asked that they have Mr Martin call me and that was Friday afternoon, i also left a voicemail for them Saturday morning and now here we are Saturday evening and still NO CALL. As a customer as well as a parent this doesnt sit well with me.

Positive experience: TOOK 3 CLASSES FROM THEM. GOT MY LICENSE IN MY FIRST ATTEMPT AT THE ROAD TEST. YOU WILL GET YOUR LICENSE BUT WON'T APPRECIATE THE IMPATIENCE OF THE INSTRUCTOR. REASONABLE PRICES, CONVENIENT TIMINGS. MR.MARTIN NEEDS TO TAKE A YOGA CLASS..LOL..

Fantastic experience: I am Hui-Ling Chen, Mr Martins was a wonderful teacher for me. I come from Shanghai China and my English is not perfect. At 56 years of age I decided to get my driving license. He was a great teacher. He is very calm and taught me the correct way to drive, park the car and do a three point turn as well as all of the other things that are very important. He has a very nice personality. If you are worried about learning then go to Mr. Martins and he will make it a nice experience for you. I got my license on the first driving test! Fantastic experience: Martins School was wonderful! All of the people we dealt with from the administration to the classroom teachers and the driving teachers were friendly, professional and knowledgeable. They de-stressed an otherwise stressful time for our family and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a great driving school. Thank you Martins!
