Roland's Driving School

Negative experience: At first everything was fine, the lesson was just ok, we had agreed that after my first lesson he would determine how many more hours I needed in order to properly learn how to drive. After my first lesson I made my payment and Roland told me he would call me back at a later time to schedule my second lesson, I was looking forward to the call because as a first time driver I expected some feedback, but I heard nothing because he never called me back. I gave it a few days and I never heard back so I decided to call him, he picked up and told me not to worry about it, he would call me back, it has now been over a month, I never heard back and now I honestly feel like it was a waste of my time and especially a waste of money. I tried overlooking several things that I am sure are just his style of teaching, he is on his phone for a lot of the time, so sometimes I felt like he just did not really care to be there, he was making personal calls and for someone like me who is driving for the first time ever I was easily distracted and insecure. We basically drove around and I made it back safe but I am just really unhappy with my experience. I was willing to give this a second chance but they never even contacted me back! I honestly wish I could have my $130 back. I am sure other people had good experiences but I just wanted to express my story, please do your research and best of luck if you are new to driving :)

Fantastic experience: Roland's Driving School really prepared me to pass my behind the wheel driving test on the first try! The instructors were really great and very patient! Fantastic experience: I stood outside of the DMV for over 1 hour begging people to please help me take my drivers test, because I was not fortunate enough for a parent to have a car so I could take my driving test. After all hope was lost, I saw a lady on the side of the road who was a driving instructor and I begged her to please help me I didnt have enough money for a driving instructor and that I only had a little bit of money. She called a man on the phone and that man was Roland. He sympathized with me and took me under his arm so that I could take my test. I am now a liscenced driver and I couldnt have done it without him. Its more than just money and he really showed me that. I thank you so much. 10/10

Negative experience: My driving instructor was the owner, Roland. He would take a 30 minute break in the middle of the driving session to smoke and would just leave me in the car waiting (every session). Other than that I couldn’t get a hold of him to make an appointment to finish the last 2 hours required to complete the minimun for someone under 18. So i ended up finding another driver school in Burbank that was better and much more professional.

Fantastic experience: I didn’t pass the exam twice. Called Roland and told him I need to pass. In only an hour he taught me all the trips and things to do to pass. Very happy with their servicez

Fantastic experience: I will recommend Roland's Driving school to everyone! If you are like me and have little to no previous driving experience, this is the school for you. I had the privilege of being taught by three of the school's instructors. Caren, my first ever driving instructor, was wonderful! Caren is very calm and patient. She gave me very practical, no nonsense advice and has a very tranquil presence, that would make even the most nervous student feel at ease. Lina, the next instructor I drove with, is also so great! Lina is very easy-going with a very nurturing and lighthearted personality. I could tell that she is very invested in the success of her students. She, too, gave me very good practical driving tips. She has a very logical and organized way of communicating these tips to students. Finally, Roland's style of teaching is very thought-provoking and philosophical. I always felt that the the advice he gave me applied to more than just driving, but also life as well. While he has been a driving instructor for over 25 years, It is very obvious that he still loves what he does and is passionate about teaching. Roland's fun-loving and has a hilarious personality that put me at ease, making it so I was able to laugh while I learned. I liked getting the different tips and perspectives from the instructors. It made for a very well rounded driving education. While all the institutor's have different styles, they are all extremely competent and great at teaching. I am happy to say, that with the help these wonderful instructors at Roland's Driving School; I am now a licensed driver! After 12 hours of instruction (6 lessons), I felt so confident taking my behind-the-wheel driving test. I opted to use their service where an instructor picks you up an hour before the test and drives with you to the DMV. You then use the school's car for the examination. It made such a difference driving the route with Roland and getting last minute pointers before the test. I am so grateful to everyone at Roland's Driving School. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

You can tell that they all truly want their students to succeed. Roland in particular was very helpful. Fantastic experience: My experience with Roland’s Burbank driving school was completely awesome. All the instructors are super friendly especially Roland and Karen. They guide you through the entire lessons and shape you step by step to become a good driver. form the first day to the day of your test th u guide you through it and accompany you in every step of the way. They drive you to and back from the test and there are always on point with time. Roland is such a sweet heart and really cares for the success of his driving students. Even though it can be a bit pricey the money is 100 % worth it. You won’t regret it and you take those safe and amazing driving skills with you forever. It is money well spent.

Positive experience: I was a person who was very scared to drive in the USA because of so many rules to follow and the speed of the vehicles, but due to Roland's driving school I not only PASSED THE TEST ON THE FIRST GO but also drive fearlessly like a pro. In my view if you are a first time driver or so ask Roland as your instructor. He has been doing this since more than 20 years and you will definitely become comfortable with driving within just a few hour of lessons from him. If you are not new to driving and just want to learn the rules and stuff, ask for Leena. She is a very cool person who makes you feel confident and goes into those small details that are important for the test. I also got Karen as my instructor, but I did not like her that much.

Fantastic experience: Roland's Driving School is a great preparation for the driving test! I had zero experience with cars and was very timid since it was my first time driving but everyone (Roland, Lina, and Karen) made me feel super comfortable and almost like family! I passed the test on the first try and definitely have a lot more confidence in myself as a driver. If you want to practice on a specific thing, all you have to do is let them know and they'll be flexible and help you out. They take you through the specific course of the driving test step by step so many times that eventually you already know where to turn and change lanes. They're all very friendly and I'm very thankful for them!

Fantastic experience: When I first went to Roland’s driving school I had no idea how to drive, but thanks to the wonderful team, I was able to pass with flying colors, with only 3 lessons. Roland is an amazing instructor, he explains everything calmly and doesn’t rush the student. He is very patient with the students; my overall experience was wonderful.

Fantastic experience: I had 5 lessons with Roland’s . Two of my family members also had them for their driving lessons . I purposely asked different instructors for my lessons just to see different approaches and to see who would I feel comfortable with. Two of my first lessons was with Lina. Then I had Caren for another lesson. My last 4 hours I did with Roland himself. The time was passing so fast with all of them. I can’t thank enough to this guys for their patience and understanding. I passed my driving test on December 18 in Glendale. I had only three small errors and passed it with 97%. Thanks to all of you guys ....

Ronald helped me very much, teaching me to enjoy the freedom of driving, how to be cautious, and when to commit taking the best decisions at the best times. Negative experience: Such a waste of my time and money I did not learn much with him and he's always mad and angry, I do not recommend this school at all to anyone I had to sign in with a different school in order for me to be able to get my license

Fantastic experience: Roland's driving school is fantastic. Roland is an amazing instructor. I had never driven before and I have now passed my driving test on my first time. He is patient, simplifies and takes it step by step. Roland also knows how to deal with nerves (with his great sense of humor!!) and has helped me feel much more confident on the road. Fantastic experience: Roland's Driving School made my first driving experience, as well as the driving test, fun, relaxing and easy. One of the biggest problems I had with driving was my nervousness behind the wheel. This distracted my driving to a high degree, however the friendliness and patience the instructors had quickly helped me become less tense and focus on the road. I passed my test on the first try and it would not have been possible without Lina, Nick and especially Roland. On the day of the test, today, Roland picked me up a couple hours before to have a last minute practice lesson, which was needed as well as helpful. I HIGHLY recommend this driving school and cannot express in words how appreciative I am that this place exists.

Fantastic experience: Definitely wouldn't have passed without you guys! After realizing my permit was expiring within the next week, I decided to call Roland after hearing great things about him to refresh my driving. After just 1 lesson (2 hours) I felt more confident in my driving than after having completed 6 hours with a previous instructor. With another 2 lessons my confidence grew and that's all thanks to the comfortable atmosphere that Roland and his instructors provide. Roland managed to get me a behind the wheel appointment within the week, just in time before my permits expiration and I passed with a 98%. He strengthened my weaknesses and helped me become a relaxed and better driver. Very friendly, patient, and funny instructors who arrive on time. Very satisfied with the school and highly recommend it!

Fantastic experience: Roland's Driving school is the best in Burbank. I have had classes with Lina and Roland. They are terrific. Especially Roland. He is very friendly and very good coach. Their goal is just not to make you pass in the test but rather make you a safe driver on road. I was doubtful about my driving skills, my husband gave up on me, but Roland and Lina have motivated me enough to gain confidence and I passed the test in first attempt. Never thought passing drive test was this easy. Its all possible only because of Roland's driving school's experienced coaches. Believe me they have tips, which you would not get when you learn from your parents/spouse/siblings. They know what they are doing we just need to trust them. I did not have a car and Roland's driving school offers this service, they lend their car, pick you up one hour in advance, take you around DMV so that you get familiarized with the test road and after your test they drop you back. I was little nervous just before the test began, Roland noticed that brought bottle of water and said to remember few points while driving and you will pass the test... That's how they care about you. Above all they are not expensive at all. Worth every penny. What else can one ask for? If you want to learn how to drive and pass the test, enroll in Roland's driving school. This is my first review ever. I'm doing this because I am extremely happy with them. Thanks Roland and Lina.

Fantastic experience: Roland's Driving school is a fantastic driving school. When I started with them I only had about 5 hours of driving experience. But after only the first lesson with my instructor, Lina Shahian, my driving had improved a great deal. While driving with Lina I didn't feel nervous or uncomfortable because she was very calm, patient, kind, and helpful. I took my lessons after 8 vigorous hours of school and looked forward to driving with my instructor, Lina, each day. This is the school to go to, and Lina is the instructor to be with. Highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: Best driving school around. After a month of searching for a driving school, my husband and I decide to go with Roland's school. Lina Shahian is my instructor and I'm highly satisfied. I had no previous experience I was little bit nervous, but Lina made it very easy , she is very patient, friendly, relaxed and highly skilled instructor. Fantastic experience: Unlike other teachers I previously had that only did their job for monetary reasons, Roland is one of the few driving instructors out there that genuinely cares about stressing proper driving technique. Prior to Roland, I failed my driving exam twice after months of practice with my old instructor. Just within one lesson (the only one had), Roland was able to pinpoint and correct every single driving error I’ve been accustomed to making for so long. If not for Roland, I would indubitably be waiting in line at the DMV to retake a permit test. Just going to be blunt here, failure is a nonexistent occurrence with this guy. Thanks for everything.

Fantastic experience: I'm really glad I chose Roland's Driving School. Roland created a calm, amicable learning environment, so I didn't feel overly anxious and was able to concentrate and learn quicker. He explained things to me in a way I understood, most other people were very mechanical about teaching, which doesn't work well for me. I was able to pass my drivers test the first time, which my friend thought was an impressive feat. since most of the people she knew didn't pass on the first try. Which I definitely have Roland to thank for that because he not only taught me how to drive safely and effectively, but also to relax and not be so afraid of driving. Definitely choose this school!

He's very calm and patient and also gives great techniques on how to turn, park, reverse, etc. He always makes sure that each technique is perfected before he moves onto the next.
