Negative experience: Please do your research before going with Guerrero driving school. The person name Juan does not work out of the office on Mission Street. Juan is a rude person at times and tends to cancel, shows up hour early just call when he arrives, loves to talk about politics not needed when trying to learn. 6 months with Juan I could of bought a used car. Juan was rude towards the end and charged for 4 hours when it was only 2 hours of service I regret not doing research.

Fantastic experience: Juan's school is straightforward. He'll teach you the requirements and the nuisance of safe driving, the rest is in your hands. I recommend Guerrero to any inexperienced driver.

Fantastic experience: I took refresher lessons to get familiarized with left-hand drive. He prioritizes safety and is generally funny and jovial guy. As with any instructor, leave your ego when you enter the car, admit mistakes to work on and you will learn.

Negative experience: The guy who gave me lessons griving is so nasty and rude.

Fantastic experience: Juan picks you up and drops you off. I wasn’t in a rush to take my exam and he was happy to hear that I really wanted to learn, so he worked with me. Very responsive by phone, takes scheduling notes, takes mainly cash. And if your luckily tells you some great stories along the way.

Fantastic experience: Mr Guerrero is an excellent driving instructor. He did an evaluation of my driving ability and manners in our first session. He then tailored a learning program for me. After the few training sessions, I passed my test with ease and feel confident on the busy San Francisco streets. 10/10 would recommend his services.

Fantastic experience: Juan is the best! He has 40 years of experience teaching people how to drive and definitely has a no-nonsense attitude which I love (and is hard to find nowadays). He helped me prepare really well for the test and I passed on my first try! Just trust him and follow his process and you will be able to drive, safely and responsibly. He showed me parallel parking once and drew a diagram to explain his rules, then boom, I was able to do parallel parking on my first try. Definitely recommend Juan for those who want to learn! Fantastic experience: Juan was a great instructor with many years of experience. He helped me go from never driving at all to passing the exam on my first try. His feedback is direct and if anything needs to be explained in detail, we would pull over and he would draw a diagram to help me understand. He picks you up and drops you off at your home which was also helpful. We started in a parking lot and worked our way up to more complicated environments as I got more confident. He also has a specialized car with breaks on his side which also made me feel at ease while behind the wheel. Highly recommended!

Fantastic experience: I recently took driving lessons at Guerrero Driving School and was pleasantly surprised at how easy and enjoyable the experience was. As a mid-30s-something who had no prior experience driving, I was initially worried that it would be difficult for me to learn how to drive, but the instructor put me at ease, prioritized safety and made the process very enjoyable. I was able to pass my driving test on the first try thanks to the expert guidance received! Highly recommended, if I could go back in time I 'd pick Guerrero Driving School again.

Fantastic experience: Juan is a great driving teacher. He picks you up wherever you want and then drop you off. He also knows all the process and help you with everything. Totally recommended. He speaks both English and Spanish. Juan es un gran profesor de conducir. Te recoge en casa y luego te deja ahi también. Fantastic experience: Juan helped me pass the driving test on the first attempt. I really appreciated it when he told me that the number of his students that didn’t pass the test on the first attempt was in the low single digit that year (I took my classes with him in Aug 2022). This made me feel more confident when he told me that I am ready for the test. Juan was very insistent when pointing out my mistakes, and in general I found him to be a no-nonsense person when it comes to teaching. This is exactly what I am looking for when I pay someone to teach me. Juan has been in the driving school business for 40+ years and has lots of amusing and yet relevant stories to tell. I enjoyed these conversations during slower parts of our lessons. Overall, I am glad that I took classes with Juan and didn’t waste my time trying to pass the driving test with little preparation.

Fantastic experience: I took driving lessons with Juan C Guerrero for 2 months and passed my drive test in San Francisco. As of August 2022, he charges $200 for a 2 hour lesson, and will pick you up and drop you back to wherever you live. He teaches you everything you need to know for the test and more, including: starting the car, driving without jerking the wheel or pedals, stopping smoothly, to reversing, parallel parking, driving uphill and downhill, navigating stop signs, switching lanes, and turning while staying safe all the while. The number of lessons you need will vary, and he will not take you for the test until he feels you’re ready. I felt relaxed and confident by the time I took the test, and would recommend him if you want to get your driver’s license. Make sure you bring cash as that is the only mode of payment that he accepts, listen to his recommendations, and enjoy his amusing stories and banter as you drive around.

Fantastic experience: Juan is an experienced driving instructor, who is invested in the success and safety of his students. I passed my driving test on the first try with a 96 score. I have invested a good amount of driving classes since learning the right driving skills is more important than just hacking your way to passing the test. Juan was always on time for the lessons, and it was easy to schedule. I had personal circumstances, which he accommodated even though it was inconvenient at times. We practiced some more on the day of the test, and he put my mind on the right track and at ease. I felt very supported and guided throughout the test structure. Most importantly, Juan helped me overcome nervousness around driving and gain confidence. And a bonus point it's a lot of fun talking to him :-) I highly recommend his services!

Negative experience: The coach is tired and elderly so disrespectful and he talks to much keeps distracting with his talks with no fundament and doesn't let people to focus on driving also doesn't respect the timing he sets to show up....I would not recommend this disrespectful elderly man. Totally disappointed

Fantastic experience: My teenage son just pass his lincense on his first try b/c Juan is a great instructor and just nice person overall and he will tell you straight up what your doing wrong .My son was happy with every lesson from Juan .Now I'm getting my teenage daughter for her lesson soon. HIGHLY RECOMMEND for any Parents who would like theirs children to learn to safe driving...And always on time .Always ..Never have a experience of being late...

Fantastic experience: For those asking to borrow his car for the test, he will not let you borrow it. He provides straight forward lessons, taught me everything he knows and I passed with a 95. Now I’m very confident in my driving and know I will be safe out there

Fantastic experience: Had a great experience. Juan is a great teacher and knows what he’s doing, having many years of experience under his belt. He’s also very funny and will try to keep the conversation going if he sees you’re nervous. Finished my 6 hours feeling 10x more confident about my driving skills than when I first started.

Negative experience: Terrible customer service! Called the phone number and the guy did not wait for me to talk, cut me off and said "We don't have anyone available" and hung up on me. Did not even care to listen about what I had to say!

Fantastic experience: Juan is an exceptional driving teacher with a wealth of knowledge and experience that spans over 40 years! Juan is conscientious and committed to ensure that you pass the driving test on the first attempt with exemplary results. I’m from Australia where the road rules are different to the extent that we drive on the opposite side of the road so passing on the first attempt is a testament to Juan’s impressive teaching pedigree. Juan also genuinely cares about your success rather than maximizing the amount of money charged for his services. This characteristic was reflected on many occasions where he turned down additional driving lessons because he thought I was ready to pass the test. Juan is personable, humorous and a great conversationalist which makes the driving lessons a great experience. Only recommendation I can give is to trust in his advice and judgment because the results in the end will speak for themselves. I would not hesitate to recommend Juan to family and friends in the future.

Fantastic experience: Juan taught my husband and me driving, my husband passed on the 1st attempt, it took me two to pass, but I still continued cause I knew he was good at how he taught. Don’t go into this school with a plan or an expectation on how you will learn to drive. Juan has many years of experience and he has his own ways on how you’ll learn. He will only take you for the driving exam when he thinks your ready. Friendly & funny guy with numerous stories, if you allow him to be so. I highly recommend him.

Fantastic experience: Just passed my driving test on my first attempt. I was a complete beginner when I started lessons with Juan 2.5 months ago. I guess different people will have different learning speeds (as I can see in other reviews), but Juan consistently corrects mistakes, and I saw improvements in my skill in every lesson. Initially I had trouble with even the basics like braking smoothly and staying in my lane, but each lesson I improved till we were talking about more advanced skills like spotting potential dangers and how to be defensive when merging lanes. Juan covers all the skills that come up in the drive test, but he is more interested in making you a safe driver. So every lesson we would also be doing things that are not in the test, such as driving in the freeway or learning to parallel park. If my instructor had only taught me how to drive through the suburbs near the DMV, I wouldn't have the confidence to get a car and drive through busy city traffic or on the freeway. Juan's techniques gave me the confidence that I can drive safely. Juan's style is very direct, and he will tell you every mistake you make. But he is also fair and very clear in his explanations. He clearly knows what he's talking about. I'd highly recommend his lessons.

Negative experience: When he picked me up for my lesson, the first thing he asked as soon as I got into the car was "what ethnicity is your family" to which I replied "Palestinian" he then proceeds to respond with "My daughter married a Palestinian guy even though I told her not to" yeah not the best way to start off a lesson. He then proceeds to constantly talk about politics, was on his phone as he was driving me to the parking lot to practice, and he would constantly grab the wheel from me at the most unnecessary times while yelling at me to let go while making a turn, which put me in a very scary situation that could have been avoided. In other words, don't choose this school because you won't get anything but a terrifying and dangerous experience for a cheap price. I have finished my 6 hours (more like survived my 6 hours) and I will continue to learn but this school DID NOT help me, if anything, he taught me everything to not do as a driver, rather than teaching me the right things to do while driving. Didn't even take me on the DMV route that he said he would take me to practice on

Fantastic experience: After learning how to drive with Mr Guerrero, I had no problem passing my driving test and felt extremely prepared and confident during the whole test. If you are more interested in learning how to drive correctly than just passing your test, Guerrero driving school is definitely your best choice. I am very happy I learned with him!

Negative experience: I did learn how to drive better and passed my behind the wheel test but I would not recommend this to anyone. He was late our first day, he discussed mostly politics, and on more than one account he grabbed the wheel while I was driving and did not explain why he did so.

Fantastic experience: I am really grateful for knowing how to drive and to have a driver's license. Thanks to Carlos , who is really good at what he does. From his experience, he observed my behavior, pointed out my mistakes, and taught me the right way. He is very good at teaching defensive driving, he  teaches you not only how to pass the test, but also how to drive and be a good driver.  It is also important to listen to his advice when you are ready to pass the test, where and what is the best time. I appreciate it.

I took about 16 hours in lessons, but everyone learns at their own pace and it's important to not just learn for the test because it will come to bite you at much higher costs if you don't learn to drive well. highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: Like some of the other reviewers on this page, I didn't think I would pass after a month of driving (I was planning to practice all summer before taking the test). At age 25, I was getting desperate to get some good classes and finally get my license, especially after learning nothing at another driving school in the past... I can now say that after a month of taking classes with Mr. Guerrero, I am a licensed Californian driver!! I took about 8 classes with him, which is more than the average 6 that some people need, but he really helped me hone my skills and pick out any bad habits I had developed from the previous driving school I went to. He is an excellent teacher who sets high standards for his students. He takes his job very seriously and wants to make sure that he is releasing safe drivers out on the road. In a sense he saves lives! I feel like I am a very safe driver from learning from him! He will grill you on mistakes you make and tell you about them consistently. He expects nothing less than perfect driving from his students and that is what gets you to pass the test! He does like to talk a lot about a wide range of topics and listen to the radio. This is helpful because you learn to drive when there are distractions. When you take the test there are no distractions from the examiner, just focusing on the road, making it so easy to pass! Also I found his jokes and stories helped make me be more calm and at ease while driving. Truly an amazing man who has been training people to be safe drivers for a long time!

Fantastic experience: I'm a 22 year old former foster youth and had been having trouble finding willing and able people to teach me how to drive. I wanted to learn before age 25 and so I could have more job possibilities now so after my first permit expired waiting on others I decided to enroll in driving school around a month and a half. I found Juan through a Google search and was delighted to find him easy to understand, very helpful, and flexible with time. He answered all my questions thorougly, touched all the main points making sure I understood by testing my skill, guided me through the DMV process, and was also friendly with a good since of humor. I'm delighted to say I got my license on my first try yesterday so I most definately recommend Guerrero Driving School. I did have a little experience when I started and it took me about 6 or 8 sessions.
