My instructor, Dawit, was patient, encouraging, and highly knowledgeable, which made a big difference for me as a nervous driver. The lessons were well-organized, and their cars were always clean and comfortable. Thanks to them, I passed my test on my first try! Fantastic experience: I attended the Maryland driving education program from September 16 to September 27, 2024, through Zoom at this school and I have to say it exceeded my expectations. Despite being virtual, the class was incredibly interactive, and the content of the courses was top-notch. The instructor ( Mr. Guy) did an excellent job of breaking down complex topics and explaining them in a way that was easy to understand. What really stood out to me was how engaging the teacher made the class. I highly recommend this school to anyone looking to complete their driving education—it was a valuable experience and looking forward for behind the wheel practice!

They are well educated on how to handle their student nice people supporting and allowing me to ask any questions. Fantastic experience: I had a wonderful experience with Habesha Driving School recently. I personally enjoyed learning to drive from the different instructors especially Dawit. He is very knowledgeable and professional but more importantly, he is able to make a first-time learner to be at ease despite the anxiety and stress that comes from the busy traffic. I passed at the first attempt, with just few weeks of training. It is noteworthy that my husband learnt driving from Dawit in 2022 and passed his road test on his first attempt too! As such, it is only right to give credit where it is due. We both highly recommend Hasbesha Driving School to anyone who is keen to learn driving!:)

Negative experience: Terrible communication -- the main office and instructors do not work or communicate with one another, leading to appointments being cancelled and rescheduled.

Negative experience: Purchased a single driving lesson for "extra practice" for my teenage daughter. Called the office to explain exactly the driving skills we wanted the instructor to focus on and asked them to note that with the instructor. We arrived early at the Bethesda office. Office was closed with a sign saying their instructors will meet you there if you have a scheduled lesson. When the lesson time came and went, I called the first posted phone number, which was out of service. Not a good sign. The second number was answered, and we were then contacted by the instructor who had parked on the street outside — the first of multiple communication issues. The instructor had no idea why we had scheduled a lesson. Compared to "the competition" in our area (the one with ex-cops, which we previously used), the instructor was unfriendly and unwelcoming –— not a good thing with a new, un-confident driver. After the lesson, my daughter told me that the instructor hardly gave her feedback while she was driving, gave her turn and other directions at the last second, and told her to slow down instead of speeding up to be closer to highway speed when she was merging onto the highway. When she first entered the car, the instructor was playing loud talk-radio. When my daughter asked if he could turn it off (at least she had the sense not to be playing talk radio during a driving lesson); he turned it down, not off, until she asked again. I don't expect miracles from a driving school, but we know from experience that Habesha's service and professionalism was far below the competition.

Fantastic experience: I've had a great experience at this school. I took driving classes with Endale and I really enjoyed it. He is very friendly, patient, and professional. I felt very confident and safe even on a highway while I was driving with him!

Negative experience: DANGEROUS. The instructor fell asleep three times during the driving lesson. The lesson was supposed to be on parking in order to pass the MD driving test, but he did not cover any parking (because he was asleep). We called to complain and spoke to the manager, who made a joke about how he must have "felt comfortable enough to sleep" and then refused to give us another lesson that actually covered what we paid for. (They had also rescheduled the lesson on us three times the day before, but that was just irritating and unprofessional - the instructor failing to keep our driver safe is deeply concerning.) Obviously we will not be using them again, and highly caution against putting your child or loved one in the car with someone who sleeps on the job and management that doesn't care.

Fantastic experience: Habesha is an excellent, affordable driving school! Their behind the wheel training is very focused towards the actual driving test and they make sure that you are well prepared. Endale is a fantastic instructor!! He was very patient and specifically focussed on my weak areas so that I can pass the test comfortably. I would recommend this school % to anybody looking to get their driving licence and becoming a confident driver!!

Fantastic experience: Dawit, Endale, Maurice, and Kaleb are wonderful driving instructors. The online class was okay. But the real deal is clearing the road test, for which the team prepares you really well. They really try their best to accommodate your requests. Their tone on the phone may be 'straightforward' souding, but I'd say that is not at all reflective of their professionalism, because they are respecful towards their customers and do their best to help you clear the driving test with confidence. I highly recommend this driving school!!
