Fantastic experience: Had Miguel as my instructor for my drive test @ Redwood City DMV. He was friendly and knowledgeable, and did an amazing job of bringing me up to speed. He made sure to thoroughly cover my weak areas to prepare me for the test, which I passed easily. We had great conversations throughout the lesson, and I definitely learnt a lot! Would definitely recommend if anyone is looking for a refresher and a rental for their drive test!

Fantastic experience: Would 100% recommend to anyone learning to drive. I had Miguel as my instructor and he was excellent: knows the manual front-to-back, excellent at expanding your comfort zone while keeping things safe, and a great conversationalist to boot. Started with a 2 hour lesson but ended up booking 10 more because of how good it was.

Fantastic experience: I took a 2 hour lesson with Miguel as my instructor and learnt a lot. Also used the driving school's car for the test and Markus helped me with the prep. They both were very patient, pointed out the errors I was making and shared tips on how to prevent those errors. Overall, would highly recommend this place for driving lessons.

Fantastic experience: Miguel is a really experienced instructor. He’s quite talkative and pointed out my mistakes, but he always stayed friendly and made sure I understood everything. He walked me through the behind-the-wheel test process in detail, and I ended up passing with flying colors. Plus, the communication with customer service was smooth and easy.

Fantastic experience: I was drawn to the school by the positive ratings. Surely, they responded very fast. In the first call, Anna was very patient in going over their packages. My son had never sat behind the wheel, so I wasn’t sure a 10-hour package would be enough. Amazingly, after a couple classes with Joseph and Nicholas, my son became confident enough to practice with me sitting on the side. For a few weeks, we have been practicing on the freeway every day. Today I discussed with Henry from Deluxe about our situation. He offered to convert remaining class hours into a drive test package, and spent additional time scheduling a DMV test at a convenient time for my son. Again I am quite happy with the services Deluxe provides. Thanks!

Fantastic experience: I had my first driving lesson with Joseph Guillory and recommend taking classes with him. He patiently answered my questions and had me start in residential areas. After this, we exited the neigborhood and I became comfortable changing lanes and driving on expressways. I had a good experience and appreciated the pacing of the class - I was never uncomfortable, and at the same time was able to try driving on different types of roads and intersections.

Positive experience: I had my first class with an instructor. She took me on highway 101 for my first class. After that I was more scared than I ever was and after that I didn't go back to school for a few months. But I decided to go back because I had already paid for some classes, it was then that I booked my class with Bryan, he was very patient and really helpful from the beginning. I explained my fears and he helped me work through my confidence. I took a few classes and he helped me prepare for my test, and with his help I passed on the first try 2 wees ago. I highly recommend taking classes with Bryan.

Fantastic experience: Had a great experience with a two-hour lesson! I had some driving experience beforehand but my instructor (Joseph Guillory) did not assume my knowledge/skill level, which was appreciated. He was very patient and informative, and answered my questions as well as provided advice throughout the lesson - all while making sure the routes we were driving on would be appropriate and useful for my skill level. Highly recommend booking with Joseph.

Negative experience: I had two lessons with the female instructor, and I was not happy with her teaching style. She took me to a parking lot for driving practice, but she was constantly using her phone. She also took me to the highway on my first lesson, which made me very nervous. I decided to switch to a different instructor, and he was much better. He was patient and understanding, and he helped me to boost my confidence. However, I had a few problems with the school itself. They canceled one of my lessons, and another time they changed the instructor without my knowledge. There was also a two-week wait time to get another session with the same instructor, which was frustrating. I passed my driving test after taking a few lessons with another school. I am very disappointed with my experience at your driving school, and I would not recommend it to anyone.

Fantastic experience: I purchased over 30 hours of lessons with Deluxe Driving School. I never drove much, nor did I get my license before now, in my mid 20s. Driving always made me stressed and panicked. I am so grateful to the instructors at Deluxe Driving. All the instructors I had were extremely patient and kind. I can honestly say that I would not have had the confidence to even try to get my license (which I did get thanks entirely to the school!) if not for their excellent instruction. They pointed out things I should improve and gave tips on what to pay attention to for the DMV test. Make sure you go into lessons knowing what you want to work on. I would highly recommend Nicholas and Bryan for regular driving instruction. They are super chill and friendly instructors, but attentive, so lessons are fun and productive. I would also recommend you do sessions with Miguel before your test because he is very experienced and will make sure you know what you need to do and how to do it to pass. Negative experience: Disappointed in the quality of instruction. Time was not well spent. The results reflected it. This was the second driving school I have used for my kids. The first, Economic Driving School, was solid.

Fantastic experience: This is a good driving school I had Miguel and Bryan as an instructor and I had a very positive experience. Instructor Miguel is good for learning rules and the teaching style is a little strict but knowledgeable. And instructor Bryan is very friendly, helpful and supporting. With each session my confidence level was increasing and especially on test day the mock trail improved my confidence and then the driving test felt relatively easy. I will recommend getting lessons from Bryan to improve your confidence. And Miguel to learn rules and gain speeding confidence on the freeway.

Fantastic experience: What impressed me the most about Nicholas is his commitment to ensuring that his students are not only competent drivers, but also responsible and safe drivers. He consistently emphasized the importance of following traffic laws and being aware of potential hazards on the road. But what really sets him apart is his chill and fun personality. Fantastic experience: Extremely satisfied with the services provided on the phone, via the website (for scheduling) and with the instructor, Miguel. If I had issues with booking online I would call, they would call me right back if I had to leave a message. Scheduling was easy online. Miguel was super knowledgeable, flexible and pleasant. My daughter was super satisfied with all of the way her lessons went.

Fantastic experience: TLDR: All instructors are good but Bryan was the standout - He's the instructor you should be going for. I passed on my first attempt. I had 7 lessons in total with 4 different instructors here Bryan, Roman, Connie and Miguel. All 4 are great and have their own teaching style. Bryan was clearly the best though - Super friendly guy, knows how to build your confidence and keep you calm and safe. He covers all the do's and don'ts for the DMV test really well. He didn't make me waste hours of time in parking lots - instead he just took me on low traffic streets and made me practice there. I got very comfortable driving on the freeways because of him. Loved Connie's energy - she was awesome at correcting minor mistakes I made while driving and she makes you simplify driving practically instead of treating it like "rocket science" (in her words). I loved that she also focusses on teaching you to be kind and courteous to other drivers - something which is very much needed in the high traffic roads in bay area. Miguel is a lot more systematic in his approach, but probably has the most experience being a driving instructor. However, I would recommend him only if you're planning to take 10+ lessons. He aims for perfection and gradual graduation from parking lots to deserted roads to residential areas and so on. He teaches and emphasizes you to be a good driver instead of just being able to pass the test. Some people might find him a little too strict though.

Fantastic experience: Just completed my 6 hours of driving with an Instructor, My Instructor’s name was Bryan Galvan, he was super helpful on driving, told some tips to take, and even taught me some new tricks with parking. These 6 hours went by in a flash but If you are a teen looking for 6 hours of driving with an instructor and want to get your license, Deleuxe Driving School is the way, and huge shoutout to Bryan for being extremely helpful.

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience with Deluxe Driving School. I would highly recommend getting your classes done with this company. Enrolling was easy Henry had coordinated with me over the phone for days id like to schedule but you can also do that on your own with the online platform they have. After each lesson a progress report is sent by the instructor evaluating what you did right and what needs to be improved. I had a delay in getting my license I had moved abroad for studies and when I came back I had no one to teach me and I dealt with alot of anxiety issues. I had bought the 3 day/2 hr package I would say try to space out the days in between in order for you to practice on your own with an accompanied licensed driver. I had one class with Karla, and 2 classes with Miguel and I had signed up for their car for the behind the wheel test which i went with Karla. Karla has a very informal way of teaching how to drive I had alot of fun with her and she helped with my anxiety and she made driving cool and fun. I highly recommend Karla if you get easily anxious. Karla also gave a lot of encouragement and positive affirmations that had made me feel more confident about myself! Miguel had his own way of teaching, he is very knowledgeable about the roads his teaching is very methodical and has good techniques to drive THOUGH I'd say that if you deal with anxiety Miguel does random rapid fire questions/pop quizzes and expects you to give the answer right away impatient when you're trying to absorb the information, it had become a little stressful for me, and I'd have mental blocks and feel small when I'd get an answer incorrect. On test day, I had Karla she made sure that I was at ease, we practiced a little bit before the test and she was genuinely really happy when I had passed my test. I hope this review helps out others to get their licenses I would highly recommend others to take classes here!

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience with Karla with whom I did all three of my lessons along with a successful driving test. The driving test seemed very easy after the three lessons with her. Karla is patient, and takes a practical approach that focuses on getting the nerves out and becoming a good driver. In addition to that, she's wonderful to talk to and I enjoyed every moment with her. Would highly recommend her!

Negative experience: There is nothing "Deluxe" about this driving school. If you want instructors who are patient, professional, and empathetic, look somewhere else. I had Miguel as an instructor, and he was absolutely awful. I cancelled my two remaining classes and am looking for another school. He was extremely unprofessional and arrogant, and did not stop talking the entire time. He gave me rapid fire instructions while I was still learning, and then yelled at me for not following his instructions quickly enough because I was still processing everything he was saying. I got out of the car and had my mom pick me up because I no longer felt safe being in the car with him. Miguel is not fit to teach anyone anything, and if this is the kind of quality of instructor I can expect, I am not interested in continuing to work with "Deluxe". Avoid at all costs.

Fantastic experience: Hi I’m Peter Eugenio I just came to California a year ago…. Coming from the Philippines, I’m not so familiar with the Road / traffic rules here in Cali. Although I have been driving for 35 yrs now in Manila, I still failed my 1st Actual Driving Test… But after having been enrolled at Push Start Driving School and with the help of my good, and able Instructress , Ms. Janelly, I regain my confidence, and passed it by 96% grade for my 2nd try. Ms. Janelly and the Push Start Driving School are reliable… try it.

Fantastic experience: Over the summer I took several classes with Deluxe Driving School as a first time driver and passed the driving test on the first attempt last week. I had 3 instructors for my classes - David, Karla and Pablo, and each of them had a different teaching style. David is very methodical with his approach and teaches every detail that a good driver must be looking out for when driving. Karla takes a more informal approach and really helped in reducing anxiety while driving in different situations. Pablo was also a great instructor and helped keep me confident while driving, he also familiarized me to the zone where the driving test would take place. Overall I'd say all of the instructors helped me get over my nerves, be a better driver and pass my driving test. Scheduling/purchasing lessons is very easy through their website and all the instructors I had were extremely punctual. I would definitely recommend Deluxe Driving School, especially for inexperienced drivers or people experiencing driving anxiety.

Fantastic experience: I had an incredible experience with this driving school. I'm Brazilian and I have around ten years of driving experience in my country. I needed someone to show me the differences between driving in the US and Brazil because I failed my behind the wheel test a few times. I had the opportunity to have Karla as my instructor, and she was absolutely amazing! Very patient, confident, professional and friendly! She taught me so much during our 2h class that was enough for me to ace my exam and finally pass! I absolutely recommend this driving school and I highly recommend Karla as an instructor! She was crucial in my journey of getting my driver's license in the US. Thank you so much, Karla!

Positive experience: The schools website and booking process is very professional and efficient. However the instructors can be a mixed experience. I dislike calling names but let’s say within the three instructors I only found one being compatible with me. The instructor I like is Pablo, I would give him a 5/5 star rating all day long. What I looked for is someone who is nice in personality and being patient with students. I also hoped they won’t judge based on my racial profile, and would also focus on teaching me driving instead of talking about random topics. Pablo is the only instructor that meets the above points… With that being said, I DID learn a lot from every single instructor. They teach very well, hell, my first instructor taught me parallel parking on my first day and I did OK!

Fantastic experience: The instructors I worked with were very polite, honest, and encouraging. You feel secure because you know they will respond with great prowess if things get hairy. I had instructor Dave and Karla and they were both excellent. Karla was very patient and encouraging, quick to help me get over my fear of highways. Would recommend to anyone.

Positive experience: A deluxe is the only popular school in the peninsula of the valley it seems. So, I enrolled them too for 6 hour package. I had several thousands of kilometers driving experience in India in 2020 and Jan 2021. I didn't drive for about a year and joined this school. It is a good school but I failed the test twice so far.

Fantastic experience: I took the Freeway driving lesson from Deluxe driving school. My instructor Kenny D made the freeway driving fun and comfortable instead of a stressful one. I would highly recommend it anyone for their great service in everything: scheduling/re-scheduling lessons, amazing and highly skilled instructors.

Fantastic experience: I did 2 lessons + 1 successful driving test (San Jose, Alma) with Deluxe Driving School. The experience is smooth. It is very easy to schedule sessions online and the instructors are always on time for your appointments. My instructor was Tim Torres who is amazing and teaches all the basics to get you ready for the driving test. Highly recommended if you are a starter or a fairly experienced driver.

Fantastic experience: Being in my mid 20s, I realized it was time I got some more driving Ed and got my DL. I tried one instructor at Deluxe Driving but didn't really like his style since it was better fit for children. This is when I came across David Bleh who was perfect for helping me get over my fear, making me feel comfortable, pushing me out of my comfort zone to be a better driver, making sure I get enough practice done and offering me tips and guidelines regularly after each session. His method isn't a textbook method like SMOG but is based on several years of experience. He makes sure that you are able to gain the confidence you need to feel safe and comfortable on the road. I'd highly recommend David to any adult who is looking to get some practical driving training done. Good luck!

Fantastic experience: I had David Bleh as an instructor, and I really liked him. I passed my test on the first try after 3 2-hr lessons. David is very experienced and passionate about driving, and was constantly challenging me. His advice is not a disconnected set of facts/tips, but rather a coherent vision of the principles and practice of driving. I think that most people drive intuitively, but David is able to narrate in real time everything that he is thinking should be done while driving, which is very useful.

Fantastic experience: David was beyond the best instructor I could ask for. He was comprehensive, thorough, and every lesson I had was full of effective best practices and helpful instructions. David is a super calm and highly experienced driving instructor, I would definitely recommend him to be your driving guru. Fantastic experience: My experience was very pleasant, my main instructor and that taught me ultimately to manage my nerves, fears and driving the vehicle was Miguel Maldonado, very professional, punctual, friendly, help too much, I obtained my driving license thanks to his help, he speaks Spanish and English which is very good, and the school in general provides a great help, especially Henry. Very satisfied with the services provided.

Fantastic experience: Thank you Miguel!!! Long story short — I learned how to drive a manual car in Ireland but never passed a driving test. Fast forward a few years later living in CA and within just a few lessons Miguel has turned me into a confident driver who knows the rules of the road. I passed my CA DMV test on the first try. Lessons with Miguel were enjoyable and never felt like work - he's a great teacher!

Negative experience: I had purchased 12 hours of driving classes from A deluxe and my experience had mostly been terrible. I had no prior driving experience and Miguel was my instructor in 5/6 classes. He's quite knowledgeable but at the same time he was impatient, short tempered and talkative right from the first class which got me flustered pretty quickly. In my first class I probably drove for like an hour and had to pretend to make small talk for an hour which was $60 down the drain. The 5th class I had taken was with a different instructor who was much more patient and gently corrected when I was making any mistake. I noted that I was learning much more quickly and drove confidently the entire time. It was a mistake booking my last class with Miguel - I had it quite much with the short temper and the jokes about my mistakes so I just sat quite, I was quite beat and my test was in a week. I was lucky to stumble across an amazing instructor who my colleague had referred, picked me up an hour before the test and perfected my "DMV" driving and skills in an hour - I would have failed half a dozen ways if not for that last minute lesson. After practicing at the test route - I was quite confident that I'd pass which I did. The price charged for the test vehicle was economical as well ($80 compared to $200) and a cleaner and newer model.

Fantastic experience: I had Miguel and David. Both of them are extremely good, although they have very different personality and teaching style. If you already know how to drive, any of them is fine. If it's your first time, I advise 2 or 3 lessons from each of them in a row.

Fantastic experience: Signed up my nephew up for the 6 hour package. The instructor was VERY VERY patient with him since he was nervous behind the wheel for the first time. The car was the perfect size for someone new to driving. Not only was the instructor knowledgeable on how to instruct him, he also gave him some task during off periods so he can get familiarized with driving so the next session can be more advance. He aced the driving test shortly after and got his license. Wish I had the same experience growing up! Thanks Deluxe!!!! Save me the headache...definitely recommend

Fantastic experience: Very good

Positive experience: I had Patrick for my first lesson, firstly , at the time l had driven one time in a parking lot before and then I had to drive his Mercedes for two hours, like no pressure right? The instruction was very high quality, he did know what he was talking about but as a nervous and stressed new driver, he made some snarky comments during the lesson that have made me decide to use a different school for my following lessons. Also, the policy is that for the first lesson, a parent or guardian is required to sit in the back for the drive, while I do see the value in this, it didn't make the extra, now-parental, anxiety that I was feeling worth it to me.

Fantastic experience: I had a wonderful experience with deluxe driving school. My instructor, Miguel was very patient with me. His training is extremely helpful. He made sure I remember and practice my basic driving skills. He gives great critique and is very helpful with correcting and improvising on driving techniques. I passed my exam in the first try. I highly recommend enrolling with deluxe driving school.

Negative experience: I recently got my license after doing three lessons with Deluxe Driving School and getting some practice driving around my neighbourhood. My experience with Deluxe wasn't absolutely horrible, but I don't think I'd recommend them again. I feel like I actually learnt more while driving with other people and watching YouTube videos of tips for driving tests than during my driving lessons. My first two lessons were with Alan Wong. His lessons and teaching style were decent, but he assumed a lot of prior knowledge even though I mentioned that I had never driven before. He started our first lesson by getting me to drive down the street towards a major road. I don't think that's the best way to begin someone's very first driving lesson, especially since I had barely any idea what I was doing! My girlfriend was surprised, as her first lesson was in an empty car park. Alan did provide some feedback, but it was pretty vague and he didn't really provide any actionable advice on how to improve my driving skills. Towards the end of both lessons, I felt like he was in a rush to leave. My final lesson was with Steve Chandler, the weekend before my driving test. He was a much better instructor than Alan, and provided useful tips and advice as well as actionable feedback. I was feeling reasonably confident with my skills at this point, but a bit nervous at the same time. Steve told me that I was going to fail my test, and that I should reschedule. This directly contradicted what Alan told me, which was that I was going well and would have no trouble with the test. I felt like he was judging me whenever I did anything even slightly wrong. An instructor's job is to instill confidence in their pupils, and you don't do that by telling them that they're doing a poor job and are going to fail (unless they're doing extremely poorly, which I was not). Obviously someone just learning to drive isn't going to be 100% perfect all the time, but telling them they're a terrible driver and that they're going to fail the test isn't the right approach to take when trying to help them learn. I didn't reschedule, and passed on my first attempt with very few minor errors. I did like that I could book driving lessons through their site. One issue with the site is that it doesn't show available appointment times until you pay for the lessons - You need to call or email to check when their next available appointment is. Once you've paid for lessons, you can book or reschedule them through their website, which is useful. Both instructors arrived when they said they would, and their cars were relatively clean. If you do go with Deluxe Driving School, I'd recommend getting lessons with Steve Chandler over Alan Wong. You can see the instructor's name when booking lessons online. I'm not sure how good the other instructors are - Perhaps they're better. Otherwise, try Sunnyvale Driving School instead.

Fantastic experience: I have to say that it's been a wonderful experience with Deluxe Driving School! In just a three studying days I got so many good habits and useful driving skills from Steve Chandler that is hard to overestimate! Every lesson I had was full of effective best practices and helpful instructions, which comes in handy while driving a car alone. Steve is extremely confident, super calm and highly experienced driving instructor that I've ever seen in my life. I really recommend him to be your driving guru. Today I've passed my behind-the-wheel test with a first try just like a charm. Thanks a lot to all school team and especially to Steve.

Fantastic experience: I am really satisfied with Deluxe Driving School service. First, they have a nice website that you can use to schedule your appointments and make payments online. Second, I had a few lessons with Anika and was able to get my driving's license in my first try! She is really patient and is really good at pointing out what you are doing right and wrong, she also always have nice tips for remembering stuff. Thanks a lot, Anika!

Fantastic experience: I took 4 lessons with Van last fall. He was a very nice and informative instructor. The Driving School helped book the test for me at DMV and provided a car for me to do the test. Excellent driving school!
