Negative experience: Don't waste your money on driving lessons
Negative experience: Terrible customer service. Susan at the front desk clearly needs additional training. This facility does not send confirmation emails for classes or tests, nor do they provide clear instructions on what is required for testing. I had the necessary paperwork but had to search for it on my phone because I wasn’t sure what to bring (which I had mentioned beforehand). Instead of being understanding or helpful, Susan insisted on rescheduling my appointment and dismissively said, “I’m not calling you a liar, but we know what we send to people”—completely unprovoked and unprofessional. She showed no empathy, just rude and condescending energy. Thankfully, this was a one-time visit, but it’s disappointing to see people in customer-facing roles who lack both courtesy and competence.
Negative experience: Instructor Parra took my test, and she was very rude. I have been driving for 12 years, in Asia, Europe, still she failed me and didn’t even provide proper explanation. Although, Elizabeth was really helpful. The instructor on the other hand was worse, would never recommend, instead go to north Austin branch it’s way better

Fantastic experience: Great place to take a driving test. We went today and were able to take our driving test. The process was very easy, and all of the people are very friendly. Elizabeth helped with the entire process and was very thorough with her help.
Negative experience: The person who administered my driver's test in Spanish insinuated that she would help me if I helped her, and when I didn't 'help' her by giving her money, she failed me on the test. I'm a professional mechanic and she told me that I didn't even know how to start a car, which is a total lack of professionalism. La Sr que me hizo el examen de conducir en español insinuó que me ayudaría si yo lo ayudaba y como no lo “ayudé” haciéndome entender que le tenía que dar dinero, me reprobó el examen, soy mecánico de profesión y me dijo que no sabía cómo arrancar un coche, es una total falta de profesionalismo.

Negative experience: My appointment was 55 minutes late. I sat in the lobby waiting and literally watched other people getting sent to their road tests before me despite the fact that they checked in later and had later appointment times than me. If I hadn’t spoken up about, I doubt I ever would’ve been attended to. For the record, I spoke up twice.

Negative experience: No pierdan su tiempo en esta escuela la que hace la prueba es racista se cree que es americana y es bien racista con los latinos siendo ella latina igual .Quiere que manejes como a ella le dé la gana y te desaprueba por cualquier cosa .Para este tipo de trabajo se requieren personas cultas ,amables y respetuosas no cualquier mal educada como esa mujer

Negative experience: First of all they did not explain the process you have to do and very overpriced for the service you’re getting. Also the front desk lady was very rude. I took 4 weeks almost everyday for nothing just for them at the end to tell me I need a certain paper that I never got told I needed that. Such a waste of time I would not recommend this place.
Negative experience: This school have zero percent responsibility I try there one time and I was failed in test and they told me after 1or2 weeks later my next text and after 1 week 2 weeks later call them they just told me wait and wait again after 23 days later they told me again after one month later I got appointment I’m sock they’re waste my time and and not give me good responsibility

Regarding your answer, according to your philosophy, I don't know how to drive when I have driven for 17 years and in 3 different cities in Europe without any problem. In that sense, I came to Houston, I took the test drive without any problem and it was approved, I attach a photo of the test. The problem you have is that you are frustrated, incompetent, paranoid, arrogant. You believe that I invented the universal driving laws around here and you answer the faults that I supposedly had, but when I got out of the car you told me totally different things. I give you free advice, explain yourself well, speak clearly, concisely, without detours, get straight to the point, don't believe the GOD of the steering wheel. It's a shame that all the negative comments from the driving school are directed towards you. there is some problem then. Maybe you are the one with the problem. God bless you
It’s unfortunate that you did not have a pleasant experience during your driving test. Failing any test is definitely not a positive experience. Our hope is that you did learn something during the test so that when you retake it, it will be a positive experience. Our examiners are trained and licensed as driving instructors and examiners. Prior to the test, I explained to you what I was looking for during the test, and I provided feedback once the exam was complete. The feedback is something that we take pride in offering our customers. Our goal is for everyone testing to leave the test having learned something. Teaching individuals to drive properly and safely is our mission. Speeding twice (once 5 miles over the limit) during a test, using only your mirrors to back up, not being able to parallel park, not checking a blind spot correctly, making wide ride turns, cutting corners on the left turns, and signaling late disqualifies someone from passing the test. I’ve been an instructor and an examiner for many years, and I only grade on what the law and DPS requires to be done. Unfortunately, some individuals who have been driving a long time create habits that in some cases can be unsafe. Again, I apologize that you saw things in a different light, and I do hope that you will have an open mind, take the feedback I provided you and apply it to your driving.

Positive experience: wondering if you are allowed to use a back up camera to parallel park?they allow you to see the back up camera to parallel park but primarily use side mirrors and look over your shoulder . I practiced 6_18 inches from the curve, the test inspector asked me to park at least 18 inches away from the curve which i found strange but did it anyway.
Negative experience: I took the driving test here and the man was super rude, he took away the confidence I had behind the wheel, he made me feel insecure and very nervous. He was the only person doing the test in that place maybe he was already overwhelmed but I think it's not right to make someone who is just learning how to drive feel insecure
Fantastic experience: I learned how to drive here and looking back I liked my instructor. He stayed relatively calm, it was convenient and easy if you paid attention.
Fantastic experience: The examiner is very gentle.the car has digital speed indicator and the test was mush easier than the DMV one .I passed .

Negative experience: La verdad que fue super pero rrrrecontra super mal esa escuela... 0% de nada ni lo piensen en ir le juro que la persona que me hizo la prueba de manejo esta triplemente desorientado (1ro parqueo= me dijo que me parqueara entre 3 puestos de estacionamiento y le parquee perfecto y me dijo que no era así que que a 20 centímetros y era un mínimo de 18 centímetros es decir es un fenómeno calculando jJajajajajajaja... 2do el stop todos sabemos que en el stop hay que detenerce todos los sabemos pero me dijo que no sabia hacer los stop porque aun así deteniéndose el quería que quedara a una distancia considerable del áviso 3ro ceda el paso = todos sabemos que si vemos una señal de ceda el paso hay que disminuir la velocidad considerablemente porque puede presentarse un altercado entre vías...el instructor me dijo que no era así que no tenia que disminuir la velocidad y me quito puntos jajajaja 4to hice la prueba en un toyota corolla totalmente sofisticado con cámara de reversa y todo totalmente actualizado el tablero me marca la velocidad digital y me avisa a cuanto debo conducir por la vía de igual forma yo iba con mi GPS de mi teléfono la vía marcaba 25 millas yo iba a 23 y el super profesor me dijo que yo iba a 31 millas jajajjakaal la locura 5to cambiar de líneas el super profesor me dijo que cambiará de línea a la izquierda el cual cambie mi lus de cruze y vi por mi retrovisor izquierdo y me dijo que estaba malo que yo tenia que voltear mi mirada hacia atrás por ensima del hombro para ver bien si no había nadie . Es decir tengo que perder visibilidad frontal para ver casi hacia atrás jajajaja no veas para adelante jajajaja al igual que el cruze a la derecha en mejor perder de vista el frente para girar tu cabeza hacia atrás que usar correctamente tu espejo frontal y derecho y por último para cruzar hacia la derecha o la izquierda hagNlo en forma de L porque al señor le parecí que lo hice de otra forma que cruce ser porque el viento me ayudo .... lo peor de lo peor y a la prueba me remito ... valla forma de hacer las cosas bien y que otra persona que diga que no sabes hacer nada jajajaja bueno asinest el mundo ... SON DE LO PEOR NO VALLAN A ESA ESCUELA TE HACEN PERDER EL TIEMPO

Negative experience: Today I had a road test there and I had a terrible experience. The Guy who did the test was really rude to me and he ruined my day. I have been driving for 20 years. Currently hold an out of country license and have been driving in Texas for 2 years. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone

Negative experience: If i could give less stars i would, THE ROAD TEST IS NOT GETTING YOUR LICENSE!!!! Do not waste your time or money. You will still need an appointment at the dps to process your paperwork. It is a waste of money and time and they don’t want you to know this. Furthermore you have to use the school’s car, not a problem, HOWEVER they do not explain that the instructor can break from the passenger seat and will do so frequently. He yelled at me multiple time during the test for slight mess-ups. He told me i missed a stop sign(however he didn’t let me stop as he breaked before i could) and then told me to cycle back around again. When we got back he said since that happened i failed the first test and that means i had taken both attempts. All of this could have been easily avoided if the instructors or even front desk had explained how the car and the way they tested works. Dont go please save yourself the time. Side note, I passed so this review is not out of spite, i just want to save other people the horrible experience.

Negative experience: My daughter took drivers ed here. She was nervous and had almost no experience behind the wheel and the instructor laughed at her in front of other students. She tried a different instructor who was impatient and increased her anxiety. She refused to go back. We thought a female instructor might be a better fit, but at the time I spoke to them (maybe a year ago) they only had one. They put us on a waiting list but we never heard back (not surprising—they are terrible about returning calls and e-mails). At this point too much time has elapsed and we’d have to re enroll. Total waste of a lot of money. Her experience actually made her less confident about driving.

Fantastic experience: Great service. Had to miss an appointment for a drivers test due to the storm but Dawn set us up for the next day in Round Rock so we could still make the DPS appointment

Positive experience: I will say I’m happy passed and got what I need done so overall I’m giving 3 stars. However, Mr. Reyna the test proctor, was very snippy and rude. It overall made my experience Miserable. As someone with an anxiety disorder, I felt very mocked and belittled. I hope that this gets resolved in the future because as of right now, I will not recommend this specific location to friends or family. I was not a fan of the front staff to much but she gave me what I needed and respected me as a person.

Positive experience: Took my DPS drive test from this location and I must say that the entire process was really smooth. Frost was my drive test inspector and he was very chilled out and easy going but at the same time a thorough professional made sure that the instructions were very clear to me. Overall the test took about 20 minutes drive. Besides that there was about 10 minutes of paper work earlier. Some of the things that were asked of a driver, lane change, indicator, parallel parking, reverse and overall capability to drive safe.

Negative experience: MASKS ARE STILL REQUIRED HERE. The DOL doesn't require, or even have in place the REQUIREMENT OF mask for employees or customers. BUT, here at the Austin driving school, you can't get in the place without being FORCED to wear a mask. Even tho the CDC has said that they aren't of value. My son was here to take his road test and they asked us to get here at 3pm... to be on time for his 320pm APPOINTMENT.. We get here at 3pm and are told that there are TWO people ahead of him and that each test takes 20 min So WITH AN APPOINTMENT, we still had to wait another 45 minutes. .I wouldn't have picked them to have the road test done if I knew ahead of time the requirement.
Yes, it is no secret that masks are still required at Austin Driving School. We do our very best to continue to protect our staff and employees. When you access our website, a “pop up” shows that masks are required at all of our locations, and there are multiple signs on our doors stating that masks are required. Austin Independent School District still requires all students and staff to wear masks, and we do follow their lead along with following CDC guidelines. According to a CDC article dated today, masks are still effective in preventing COVID-19: https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/71/wr/mm7106e1.htm The appointment was scheduled for 3:20, and we do ask our customers to arrive early so that we can go over their documents. More often than not, individuals coming in to test are missing documents, or have incomplete documents that we need to assist in completing in order for them to test. We also help our customers make an appointment with the DPS to turn in their test scores if they don’t already have one. Sometimes this process can take quite a while, and it unfortunately does prolong the waiting time for some customers. In addition, some individuals require a little bit more time when we’re testing them, and therefore sometimes the appointments aren’t exactly 20 minutes in length. We pride ourselves in spending time with those who test to make sure they know how they did once they complete and give tips on what they can work on. Your son left for his 3:20 appointment at 3:35. The examiner normally would have provided you, as the parent, with feedback after the test was complete, but you did not make eye contact with him when he attempted to address you. You paid for your son to take a driving test, our examiner gave him his test and he passed. The service that you paid for was rendered. I would imagine that your son would tell you that the experience he had with the examiner was much better than what he would have experienced at the DPS. You would have definitely waited a lot longer than 15 minutes after your appointed time had you gone to the DPS for the road test. While the DPS may not require you to wear masks to enter the building, I guarantee you that the experiences customers have during and after their driving tests are very different from what we offer. We’re truly sorry that you were unhappy with our safety protocols and the time you had to wait for your son to test, but we did give you the option to wait just outside on our benches if you did not want to wait inside with a mask on, and you chose to wait in the building with your son. Then you proceeded to leave a negative review while our examiner was out testing him. We do notify customers on our website and our doors before entry that masks are required, we do provide masks to those who do not have one, we do provide benches outside for those not wanting to wait inside with a mask, we do follow CDC guidelines, and we do provide a good experience during the driving tests along with quality feedback at completion, but do not apologize for the steps we take to protect our staff and customers.

Negative experience: I am currently in high school and they called me during school to come to class at 6:00 pm yesterday (10/08/21) and I told them I might not be able to come but I’ll see and they still put me on the schedule to come the same day they called me anyways. I came in today(10/09/21) thinking that I can do my driving class and then they said that I can’t and then lied to my mom saying they called me on Thursday(10/07/21) and said that I said I could come in and do my driving class on the 8th when I never said I can. So if you have a choice to go to driving school please do not go here.

Negative experience: Website states that driving courses are offered in Spanish. Apparently just the driving test is not 6hr course. Attempted to call and got a run around over a handful of times. Claimed they did have someone right when we had the it card to pay they denied and said no one could do it.

Fantastic experience: I was in and out quickly. I got my permit, went to the office, took the driving skills exam and passed, and got my license later that day at the DPS. If you want to skip the long waiting time at the DPS, go to Austin Driving School.

Negative experience: Very Disappointing, Waste of your time and money. I recently moved to Austin and I really don’t have friends to go around. I thought of joining a driving school to get a driving license so that I can buy a car in order to save some money in spending Uber. So then I found the Austin Driving School. They charged me 430$ for 6hrs ( 4 sessions each one and half hour ) I got random dates availability. Every session the trainer looks at your learners permit and take you to drive. This is the process here. One day I called them and told I want to book a slot for driving test and they said it’s not available until 3weeks. Surprising and then again I took a one hr session which is 60$ from them because I should not forget what I have learned for 3 long weeks gap. Finally I got a date to give drive test. It’s on Tuesday so I took couple of hours permission in my office and took an Uber to give this test. When I went inside the office there’s is a lady who is arrogant and careless as always asked for my learners permit. I handed it to her and now she says OMG YOU CANNOT take the TEST now. The reason she said blows your mind. She told me “Your ID is from Florida and you need to change this to Texas first in order to give a drive test.” I’m shocked because every day when my session starts they see my ID. I felt it’s really unfair that they didn’t mentioned it previously and now they said at the very last minute. Again I took another week to get my ID from DPS. At the end of all the struggles I gave my test and I passed with 87 points. I felt it’s very commercial. They saw my ID and didn’t mentioned to change it at first place. They did their business with me and got benefited. One good thing which I have to mention is about my trainer. He did his best to teach me. I hardly earned my DL by spending so much time and money. I don’t recommend this place to anyone.
Positive experience: Pretty solid experience with getting an appointment to drive with them (just have to get it done about a week in advance because they fill up quickly). The instructor I was with during the test was pretty nice and gave good clear directions during the test (unlike the DPS instructor I had during that test). The car they have you drive is also pretty nice. Only fault I have with them was the instructor forgot to put the vehicle information on the drive test paper which caused some slight heart-ache but everything is A-ok now. Would recommend.
Negative experience: First time I went there and I didn’t know anything about driving they asked me a question and I said idk the guy told me we know who not to ask and everyone started laughing at me and I was hurt

Negative experience: Literally just tried to schedule driving lessons over the phone and the person I was speaking with was super rude and complicated and acted like me asking questions was taking to much of her time. There are so many other options for cheaper that actually know just a little bit about customer service.

Negative experience: Saw this guy after work driving like an idiot and cutting people off. Almost hit my truck. I definitely wouldn't let my child receive driving lessons from this place!
