Braintree Driving School provides driving instructors to the Braintree, MA area.

Our comment from DrivingSchools.Directory about Braintree Driving School:

Braintree Driving School has garnered mixed reviews, but many students appreciate the dedication and professionalism of certain instructors. Those who have had lessons with Mr. Lee often highlight his patience, informative approach, and supportive teaching style. He is recognized for building confidence in students and providing thorough guidance, which has led many to successfully pass their road tests.

Some users have noted excellent experiences with Mr. Ben, praising his effective teaching methods and positive impact on their driving skills. Additionally, many parents have voiced their satisfaction with how well their children were guided through the learning process.

However, there are notable criticisms regarding the overall organization and reliability of the school. Several reviews mention unprofessional behavior, particularly involving how lessons were conducted, including communication issues and time management. Instances where instructors have been reported as inattentive or rushing through lessons have also surfaced, which has led to frustrations among students.

While Braintree Driving School offers affordable options for passing the road test and has many qualified instructors, it’s important for prospective students to consider both positive and negative feedback when selecting a driving school. Many recommend researching thoroughly and potentially opting for instructors known for their dedication and teaching success.

Negative experience: If you are planning to get your license and needed a sponsor don’t go to this school . First part of driving is knowing the type of vehicle and examine it. When having my test I didn’t even get a chance to try the car. For a 9 am appointment I arrived earlier to check out the car. Phuong was rushing me to pay and get in the car while I haven’t even tried the car. The only thing he cared was getting his money payed. Personally don’t go here unless you want to give them a them a $150 dollar for sponsorship!!

Negative experience: Trying to setup a schedule for road courses for my daughter. The person who answer was very unprofessional. Don't you call offices to make to reserve time and dates ? He wants me to confirm my daughter schedule. When I clearly told him I know what my high school daughter schedule is. Then he said text him and hangs up the phone.

Fantastic experience: After researching driver-ed programs in Braintree and Quincy, I decided to enroll my son at Braintree Driving School. I'm so glad I did! My son's driving instructor, Mr. Lee, was fantastic. He was patient, knowledgeable, and always willing to answer questions. Mr. Lee created a comfortable and supportive learning environment, helping my son feel confident behind the wheel. The in-classroom instruction was engaging and informative. The mandatory parent class was also helpful, providing valuable insights and reminders to help prepare my teen for the road. It was great to see the classroom filled with familiar faces from neighboring communities. This made Braintree Driving School feel like a natural choice for our family. While the overall cost may be slightly higher than some other options, I believe it's well worth the investment. The quality of education, the expertise of the instructors, and the positive experience my son had make it a worthwhile choice. I highly recommend Braintree Driving School to any parent seeking a top-notch driving education for their child.

Negative experience: Today I had very worst experience with this driving school. I booked a sponsor for my road test. I had the slot at 11AM I was waiting for the sponsor so long that he came to RMV at 10:50AM. I failed the test due to my errors and majorly due to the nervousness. He didn’t even showed me the basics of the car. He was talking to the examiner all the way long. Never book a sponsor from this driving school.

Marko Radić 1 year ago

Negative experience: If you need a sponsor, look for another school. Never on time, you never know what’s going on, overall a horrible experience.

Negative experience: I took class here before my road test, literally i paid 70$/- for one class and trainer didn’t even teach me as per hour mentioned,it was just 20 mints and I asked him to teach me parallel park one more time which he refused trainer name was BEN and he was in rush to drive another person and they only need money. Its complete time waste coming here asking for a sponsor find the other schools Waste of money

MORENA EHAB 1 year ago

Negative experience: I chose this school to be my sponsor for the driver’s exam, and I wouldn’t do it again. The sponsor guy (Chinese or Asian in general) was in the car during the exam time and throughout the exam he was talking on the phone and pretty loudly too. This should be unacceptable. I didn’t pass the exam because of some errors I made, but in the piece of paper given to me by the examiner(where the errors where marked down), one of the boxes checked under “immediate fail” is “sponsor talking too much”. The sponsor should not under any circumstances disturb the exam, let alone speak on the phone during the exam. Not only this was very distracting, but also disrespectful. If I had done everything perfect on the exam, I wouldn’t have passed either way because of his talking because the examiner marked that as an “immediate fail” factor. While talking with other people about this, it was revealed that people who have him as sponsor usually don’t pass for this reason as well. Do not choose them as your sponsor The only positive thing about this driving school is the old man I took the driving lesson with.

Fantastic experience: Affordable prices for passing the road test. I didn’t study there. Just passed the road test with them

Negative experience: We had a terrible experience with the instructor, Mr. Lee, for my parents. Mr. Lee would continuously tell my parents to "stop talking" when they asked questions during the class. He would often reach for the wheel and try to drive himself even though both my parents are safe drivers and have been driving abroad for years. Mr. Lee also proceeded to leave my parents in the car for 25 mins during one lesson to run a personal errand. After this horrible experience, I called the driving school asking for a different instructor. They asked me to give Mr. Lee another chance and told me they would talk to him. The second lesson was also a disaster. During the second lesson Mr. Lee took my parents to the RMV to sponsor another student driver and left my parents in the cold shivering without their jackets as they waited for the exam to be done. All this was done without prior notifications or arrangements with my parents. He was rude and had no respect for their time. Driving with him was a terrible experience. They both passed their road exam today, no thanks to Mr Lee. And proving that his harsh and rude method was not helpful or needed. I cannot understand how his behavior is tolerated. I called the driving school prior to writing this review giving them another chance to apologize or make this right. Mr Lee started yelling at me and did not allow me to complete my sentences.

Linh Le 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: I read all the other 1 star reviews and was skeptical at first. Mr Le is THE BEST driving instructor. I failed my test 2 times before taking a road test at Braintree RMV and he really went through small details prior test and I pass easily. I have no words to describe how happy I feel, Braintree Driving School deserves alot more popularity being the best driving school.

Marie Lenane 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: I sent 4 kids to this school. They all felt very confident learning from Mr. Lee. Four very different personalities and they all really enjoyed driving with Mr. Lee and felt confident when taking the road test. Office staff was very helpful, it was easy to get driving hours and they were supportive when it came to scheduling changes. I highly recommend this school!

Kelly Cyriaque 2 years ago

Negative experience: I usually do not write reviews but this is by far one of the worst driving schools I have attended. I went to this driving school last spring/summer and Lee would always have his students stop by his house/RMV, asked inappropriate questions and always yelled at me. There was a time where they rescheduled my lesson and didn’t let me know until a hour prior. However, my one lesson with Ben went extremely well. I would recommend going to him if this school is your last resort. Ultimately, I ended up getting my license by attending another school. I would not recommend coming here. There are way better schools in the Quincy/Dorchester area.

Molly Melon 2 years ago

Negative experience: This place should be shut down. I’m not an angry person and I never ever leave reviews. The instructors here don’t seem to care. It wasn’t until I started using a new school that I actually felt progressive and confident. During my lessons, the instructor would be on his phone most of the time and not really guide me. He would just slap his knee or something if I didn’t smoothly transition, talk hyperbolically, complain loudly, and give me a lot of anxiety. They are really bad at teaching. I wasted a lot of money. I feel it’s important to take time and leave this review to save money for other people. If you have any driving anxiety or need any sort of patience please choose another auto school. I wish I started with a different school because there was such a big difference in the instructors when I used a different school, regarding comfort and professionalism. I’m pretty sure some these positive reviews are arranged or fake. I’m biracial if it matters

Fantastic experience: Best driving school on the south shore

Negative experience: I wouldn’t recommend going to this school because the driving instructor Mr Lee doesn’t show you how to pass the test and instead makes you drive around and run errands while he’s on his phone.

Fantastic experience: I enjoyed the detailed driving lessons and strategies. Totally satisfied student. The trainer, Mr. Lee , is an excellent and patient teacher, building student’s confidence, relax and joy in driving. Has proven goodwill and friendly respect to examiners. My advise to students : read, read, understand clearly and remember driving rules and road signs. Practice , practice , practice. The way to pass the road test. Good luck!

Fantastic experience: Mr. Lee and Ben are great driving instructors. They are give guidance, are patient and will identify areas of improvements while also complimenting you what you can do well. I have taken classes in other school, this was the best. Passed exam on first pass, 20 hrs of driving experience.

Christina P 2 years ago

Negative experience: I would suggest if you are black or African American don’t go here. Lee does treat Black students differently. I took 10 lessons and still did not learn parallel parking. He makes you drive to his house and wait there. Overall a waste of money time and effort. I had to go to a different driving school. Just save yourself the time.

Abhilasha Chotia 3 years ago

Negative experience: Terrible is the word for the instructor Mr. Lee. I took a lesson from him to feel easy about the test that was scheduled the very next day. This man shows no empathy with his students. He kept bragging about his popularity and seemed to be on a power trip throughout the lesson time. He made certain racist comments too. As a result I appeared my test with a lot of anxiety and failed it. He should take complete ownership of it.

Negative experience: We had a terrible experience with instructor Le at Braintree Driving School. We had paid for one-on-one 45-minute training lessons, and instructor Le did not provide the service. During our son’s lessons: 1. Accepted phone calls and texted throughout the lessons. 2. On four of the lessons, had our son drive him home so he can use the restroom and had him wait in the car unattended with the engine on. 3. On one of the lessons, had our son pick up his son, drive him to a business, had him wait in the car unattended for ten to fifteen minutes. 4. Had other students in the car during lessons (we paid for one-on-one training lessons). 5. Used intimidating language and tone. Due to the inappropriate behaviors, our son had inadequate driving instruction. In addition, instructor Le had scheduled a road test without approval or coordination with us, using the deposit we paid. Money and time were wasted as we had to enroll our son to another driving school.

Marcus Adams 3 years ago

Negative experience: Reported to the BBB. Has happened 3 times now where they are late to start my appointment, have other students over booked before, after, or even during my time slot, and then have you run errands for them. Had me drive to his kids school to pick them up while they talk about whatever, English isn’t the primary. Another one was have a student pick me up at the T station, then had me drive to their location, picked up another student, drove them to the RMV, waited on the side walk while the first student took their test, then drove that student back to the office, while the 3rd person drove me back to the station. Especially during Covid, having this many interactions in 1 car with overlapping appointments is unprofessional. I had a lesson and a test scheduled for today, was left a voicemail that it is rescheduled for Monday, which I then had to take off work, and was told last night it will be test only, “they too busy to teach” that day.

Fantastic experience: Ben and Lee were great driving instructors for what I needed! Both were very confident in me when starting out and constructively pushed me out of my comfort zone to accelerate the learning process. When I eventually became more comfortable, they even transitioned into conversation partners as well as driving instructors, which made driving less nerve wracking. I was taught how to parallel park effectively, proper technique in actually commanding the wheel, and overall driving sense. After all my driving hours were done, I was able to schedule a road test within 2 weeks of finishing, and I'm proud to say that I officially passed because of them :D As for the in-class part, Ben was my teacher throughout all five classes and did a great job in making sure we were all adequately prepared for both the written test and permit-- not a single person in my class failed! I highly recommend this place

Negative experience: I recently took a few driving lessons with Lee and Ben and I have to say Ben is great, lee is not a good instructor, he yells at his students , has students drive to other students complexes to pick them up as part of their lesson. Which I thought was weird . He had me the last and final lesson , he had a previous appointment pick me up and drive with me in The back seat and she was so nervous and he kept yelling at her , he made her and I very nervous for our lessons . Then I had to pick up a client and we drove to his house so he could have lunch on my time . Sorry but I don’t get these good reviews . I have had 3 lessons with Lee and none of them were good . He didn’t like driving with him at all

Fantastic experience: Mr Lee is the best. He is very informative and helpful which really helped me prepare for the test. He makes sure you go on your test with no question, helps you build confidence and to know everything they will ask you on your test. Everything they ask me we practiced over and over again. It was an excellent experience. I got me license on my first exame . Thanks Mr. Lee.

Fantastic experience: I came across Braintree Driving School after doing a google search. I previously attended another driving school and I am pleased to say Braintree Driving School is the best. I was always offered a bottle of water and Mr. Lee always called to remind me of my upcoming appointments. I really liked how each instructor checked in before I drove off and asking what I needed to work on. Due to the school being busy Mr. Lee would ask to use the restroom but I would always get my time back which was reassuring. I was nervous at first but after 5 lessons I was excited to drive. I had three instructors and they all provided great tips. Passed my road test last week and it was all thanks to Braintree Driving School. I would recommend

Negative experience: This is the worst driving school. Very unprofessional. Mr.Lee wasted half of my hour going to his house and taking breaks. He ended the phone on my dad when we called about this situation. There are certainly much better options out there, trust me, do not waste your time or hard earned money at this garbage establishment.

Negative experience: My husband went to this school and he paid to take 2 classes and the road test and then One of the instructors told him to pay $80 to get express booking to book the road test sooner . We kept asking for the dates of the road test and always got told to wait for a call back and never never got one. When I called the office someone said there is no such think as express booking and then when I told them that we wanted our money back they changed the story and said he never paid the 80 for the express booking. And the Instructor that originally told us about the express booking never picked up the phone after we tried confronting the office and the instructor. I would not recommend this school.

Negative experience: I had a uncomfortable experience during driving class with Mr Lee. He was asking inappropriate questions like my personal life (ethnicity, marital status, kids, age etc) and even after I told him politely it’s not appropriate for him to ask such questions he continued. Further he repeatedly called me honey and frankly was rude and literally did not talk or teach anything about driving. For me it was a terrible experience and there is no way I would go back.

Negative experience: I got a very negative impression about this school. My wife agreed that she would take a lesson and booked a driving test. She paid immediately online. The lesson was scheduled for 9am, on Monday, October 28th. There was no one at the appointed time. The office was closed, although a sign hung on it - open, come in. At 9:10 am the instructor appeared. At 9:33 am the lesson was over. Thus, the duration of the lesson was not 45, but 20 minutes. For most of the lesson, the instructor talked about himself and asked questions not related to driving. At the end of the lesson, the driver said that my wife was not ready for the driving test. In addition, the instructor said that she should be looking for Russian driving school, because in this school she has no chance to pass the driving test. The same day, I called and talked with Bob, who offered me two options to choose – cancel the test and return the money or reschedule the test for another day. We agreed to cancel the test and return the money. Three days later, I called the office because the money was not received. Another person was talking to me. He introduced himself as the owner of the business. He said that the money will not be returned to me and that I have the opportunity to schedule an exam at another time. Regarding my original agreement with Bob, the owner of the business told me that Bob couldn’t tell me that and I have no other options. I believe a business is primarily built on trust. If the owner of the business changes his decisions at his discretion and cares more about money, and not about the promise made to the client, then I do not think that such business will inspire respect among customers.

Fantastic experience: Mr. Lee is a very kind, knowledgeable man who focuses more on his student’s success than his own income or self interest. He is committed to getting you over any fears of driving as well as becoming a responsible and dedicated driver. Although I was unable to finish my tenure there due to lack of financials he was willing to help in any way he could and gave me the knowledge and confidence to be a good, smart and safe driver. I can proudly say I am typing this from my seat waiting to go get my new license and honestly could not have made it to this point without him. If he could help me he can help anyone! THANK YOU LEE!!!!
