Fantastic experience: Kristin Examiner is very good!! Let me feel the whole exam period is very relaxed, like her very much! I highly recommend this examiner to make me and my friend feel very relaxed about the driving test!

Cheyanne (sorry if I am spelling wrong) was so incredibly sweet and wonderful and helped calm any nervousness. Kristan, the testing/instructor was fantastic and also made my son so comfortable. He was nervous about taking his test in Albany because he doesn’t have any experience driving there, but it went to smooth. They really go out of their way to make sure that everyone is happy and at ease. I can’t thank them enough! I would recommend them to anyone needing driving lessons… or just the driving test like we did.

Positive experience: Better than DMV. Schedule appointment 3 days in advance for driving test. They had the car ready when we got there and paper work only took a few minutes. We were out and driving and instructor was nice and patient. I just like this because it give me to freedom to book when I want rather than the DMV where you have to book 2 months in advance so you have no idea if you will actually be available that day.

Negative experience: Office was not hard to find and the person behind the desk was friendly, but the instructor snapped at me right from the start "did you read the window" there were postings on the window and I said yes I read them and he snapped back raising his voice DID YOU READ THE WINDOW? I calmly repeated yes I read the window. I was his last test I suppose and he was not in a good mood. Test I thought went very well, I am very careful, checked blind spots before changing lanes looked over my shoulder backing up even though with all the plastic sheeting in the vehicle I was seeing double and triple everything and I commented on that maybe it upset Glenn because even though I had done well enough I thought but he did not see me check blind spots and that was the most critical mark (3). Frustrating I waited two months for this test and now I will wait again, also it was an hour drive to the test site. Not good Oregon.

Fantastic experience: Booked a skills test online and was impressed with how accommodating they were for scheduling. Glen was professional and courteous and I'd recommend their services to anyone in the area.

Positive experience: I believe many of the 1 star reviews left here are biased due to their author's drive test outcome. The receptionist was straightforward and helpful, the examiner I tested with (Glenn) was also straightforward and gave concise instructions. His direction was clear, and feedback was respectful and detailed. This business has a pretty strict refund and rescheduling policy so avoid canceling your appointment. The only other complaint was the surprisingly odorous smell of mold in one of the testing vehicles.

Fantastic experience: Mary was a real good instructor in Albany to get a driver's license and had a very good drive she was very nice. At the end of the drive explained to me things to work on and look for.

Fantastic experience: Great. Super easy to schedule online, with clear instructions for how to do so. The staff were polite and professional, and the test driver assigned to me, was very kind, courteous and explained everything really well. I appreciate the professionalism, and clear nature of the communication. I have had several siblings go through here for their drive tests, and have never had an issue with any one of them. Thank you!

Negative experience: This place seems to have new people running it now. And it’s not a good thing. We had been on a wait list for months and never received a call back to sign up for a class. Call their number just to talk to someone in Salem that said to go in and we should be able to get in to this class. Actually went in to what seem to be a 16 year old that had no idea what to do, beside put us on a wait list. Ask to have the manager call me as she was on a drive. She promptly called me but was of no help, did not apologize. Just said I could go to another of their sites. Zero help from anyone. I highly recommend going anywhere else as there is also cheap places with the same training.

Fantastic experience: Had a great experience! I schedule a driving test within 24 hours . All easy and smooth . The driver examiner ( I believe Mary ) was excellent. Very friendly and even knows Spanish . Thank you

Negative experience: The man I drove for my test with Glenn Anderson, failed to tell me which turns I was taking until I was at the stop signs and had to ask him which way to even go, as well as tried saying I was going too fast in a school zone which was only 20 mph if the sign was flashing and it was not as I took my test at 9:40 am, he was not polite about my failing and made me feel stupid. Marked me multiple times for blind spots even though I had checked almost every time I do know a few times I didn't. He made a big point that I was 2 over so I failed and to just come back and test again! Not for 75 dollars I won't!

Fantastic experience: Isaac helped me over the phone even though I was going to be super late. He ended up switching my appointment with someone who arrived early and made it all work out for me ! He called me back 3 times just to make sure he was helping as much as he could. Awesome customer service!

Negative experience: They fail people on purpose for money. You're better off going anywhere else. Both me and my sister tried going through here to get my license and they'd give us points for things like "wide turns" or "blind spots" when In reality we both had plenty of driving experience with our parents. They said I blew through a stop sign even though I didn't and proceeded to say it was hidden and said it was an immediate disqualifier even though a girl my sister knew that had taken her test the same day was passed after running a RED LIGHT. Idk why they discriminate so much but the moment we both went through a different school we were passed instantly. I wasted $75 on my test 3 time and they would give me just enough points to fail for dumb reasons. My sister was in tears because she thought she was just a bad driver. Idk exactly how they're discriminating but they are. The testers are judgy about your appearance I was treated weird because I had piercings and tattoos my sister too.Overall it was a horrible experience

Negative experience: DO NOT GIVE YOUR MONEY Awful service and scammers took my money and canceled my appointment the day before won't give me my 75$ dollars back waste of time

Negative experience: Scam!! instructor unprofessional and disdainful attitude towards us both from the moment we walked into the facility. "Glaring at the young man's dreadlocks". While in the far right lane she tells him "(EVENTUALLY) you'll have to make a left turn" didn't give any other instructions. then waits until he was parallel to the turn to say turn at that left. It took less than 5 minutes for them to return, not even 2 miles from the office. Waisted our time and money. A fair chance a fair test is asking for the minimum.

Negative experience: Save yourself the time and just go to ODEC in Salem. The vehicle they provide is bad and the examiner was really confusing.

Negative experience: So call them after over a week of no call back went in to ask about driver's Ed was told they were full. Asked when the next class would be was then told about a wait list. (Was told sorry short staffed) Went on wait list. Finally got a call to be able to put them in a class. Went down with paperwork for one filled out the other one's there. Did not know card machine was down so had to go get the cash. So all registered and paid was already told the class dates.(We were told sorry a they are a new hire that had no idea and couldn't even find us on the wait list I was called from) this took over an hour. All filled out and on the calendar. Showed up for first class with both that were signed up and was then told we could not leave them there for class because we did not show up for a mandatory parent meeting that I was never told about. And when asked the number they called/texted to tell us it was not our number..

Fantastic experience: It was super fast to get an appointment. The DMV was months out for driving tests and here it was available the same week. The employees who work there are really friendly and efficient in all explanations. The driving instructor Glenn helped me to feel comfortable and calm. Would definitely recommend.

Negative experience: We paid for the driving lessons package on the website on July 19th, 2022 and now they won't return our calls or email. This place is a scam. Check out their BBB profile. They have an F rating and many outstanding complaints.

Negative experience: Asked for refund since May'22 and was promised it would be done within 2 months. 3 months later, still nothing. I called in multiple times in the past few months but it seemed impossible to get it done.

Fantastic experience: My daughter had her driving test there... it was easy to register/book (online), find the location, sign in, the test was short and sweet, tester was nice and efficient and explained what my daughter had to work on... very good experience.

Fantastic experience: Great place. A lot of my family members have gone. Based on the reviews, most peoples issues are that they don’t read the policies. If you read the policies there should be no issue. Those who need Spanish this is a good option.

Negative experience: NW Drivers Ed has terrible customer service. They never answer their phone and beware that if you cancel your appointment 2weeks before scheduled (a reasonable amount of time) you will not be getting your money back, they will completely ghost you. Don’t waste your time or money here.

Negative experience: If you can go somewhere else do. They nickle and dime you when they can. Just got told we would need to reschedule and they would not carry over the $75 we paid in advance. So we ended up having to pay an additional $75.

Fantastic experience: I was extremely worried by the reviews posted on here but I could not find any other driving school open with in a 50 mile radius and honestly I really liked it!! I had the same examiner twice and she was very professional and nice! I failed my first time but she went over exactly what I did wrong and when I came back— and passed— she let me know what I could improve on! I was able to pick up my license with no complications they were very timely and helped me out a lot. 10/10 would recommend!

Negative experience: My instructor was not very kind. Not only was she picky and failed me for silly things but she made rude remarks when telling me she failed.

Negative experience: My experience with these people are of them being extremely money-hungry and insensitive! I had paid $75 for a drive test with them. I had to drive over the Santiam Pass in order to get there, and the roads were icy and I ended up sliding on ice and rolled my car in a dangerous rollover car crash! Needless to say, I didn't make the appointment. As soon as I was in one of ODOT's trucks and safe and had calmed down a bit, I called them to notify them of what happened so they knew I wouldn't be making my appointment and that I needed to either reschedule or hopefully be refunded (please note that when I left this initial voicemail it was still about an hour before my scheduled appointment). I did not get a call back, and after a few hours I called again and left another voicemail. Again, no callback. I called and left a voicemail again the next day and then again a few days later. Still no callback. At the times of these calls I was open to rescheduling my appointment through them and therefore not interested in a refund of my $75. But since they never returned my phone call, I eventually ended up scheduling a local drive test through Training Wheels (which was $10 cheaper by the way!). After another couple weeks, I called again just on a whim to see if anyone would answer so I could talk to a person directly to see about getting a refund given the nature of the situation. Finally someone answered, only to tell me that I cannot be refunded because I did not notify them within 24 hours of the cancellation. I explained that there was no way for me to know 24 hours before my appointment that I was going to be in a rollover car crash that morning and I would really like to ask for some compassion given the circumstances. I was again denied, and told that I could reschedule the appointment! I informed him that I no longer needed to take a drive test, that I now have my license because after several weeks of them not returning my call I eventually had to pay and schedule one through someone else. He could not give me a reason why none of my several calls were returned. I do not recommend this service to anyone! Also, you have to pay them before you can even schedule the appointment. I recommend Training Wheels. As I said, they were cheaper, and as long as you pay before the scheduled appointment begins you are all good. Safe driving, everyone!

Fantastic experience: My examiner, Mr. Glenn was very polite, professional and correct on his duty. I felt very comfortable while taking the drive test. It was Not stressful but careful test.

Negative experience: Very bad driving schools, the road test must use their cars, but their cars are very difficult to use, the examiner's instructions are not clear.Because other driving schools have to wait a long time to select them, I can see why they're so easy to get an appointment. Once they've been here, they don't recommend friends.

Negative experience: Stay Away. You'll get ripped off. This Driving school takes your money and doesn't follow through with actually getting teens their licenses. It's been 5 weeks since my kids completed their class, passed both the written test and the driving test with flying colors and they keep saying that they're waiting for DMV to send the completion certificates that will allow them to get their licenses. I've talked to multiple people at DMV and ODOT. NW Drivers Ed has multiple complaints against them, and has possibly LOST the paperwork that they're supposed to submit for their students from TWO classes to get their licenses. Now I either need to pay $75-100 each for my kids to take another drive test from a *different* third party, or go all the way to Bend, from Salem, which is the closest place that is taking Drive test appts right now, during COVID... and the wait for appointments there is another 6 weeks from now.

Negative experience: Wouldn’t recommend the one in Albany, the instructor was late and unprofessional. Ridiculous amount of plastic and trash bags in the car. I was very disappointed by my experience there. DONT GO IF you value your money, unless you want to be judged and treated rudely.

Fantastic experience: As a student I love this class and my teacher, Glenn is outstanding and very caring to us. I had lots of fun with Glenn and enjoyed every second.

Negative experience: I left a few messages over a couple of weeks trying to get information on lessons, no one ever did call me back but I got a text message a few days later- at 11:43 PM- stating: "We do offer one on one drive lessons but our schedule is looking very full currently." I replied the next day during business hours with a couple of questions and to this day have not received a response to either the text or the voicemails.

Fantastic experience: Awesome people ! Extended my appointment when I was running late, and were happy to accommodate me with the stuff I needed. I would recommend them to anyone.

Positive experience: I took the drivers test and passed with ease. The test was easy my only commpliant was the car was extremely small and they had plastic wrap dropping the from the ceiling so it was hard to see out the back window

Fantastic experience: My son got his drive test on Friday and pass the test and we made the appointment on the following Monday to DMV and got his picture taken and was very happy

Fantastic experience: The reviews scared me a lot but I think you have nothing to worry about as long as you're sure you're ready! I had a very pleasant and quick experience.

Negative experience: Do not use this business to get you Oregon DMV test - unless you are 100% sure you will pass. It is $75 to take the test and if you have to retest it is the same price with no discount, so another $75. When you can just wait one month to six weeks to go to the DMV and take your test for $20. It is a waste of time and money to use this business - be patient make your appointment at the DMV save money. To top it off they were not professional.

They will initiate a conversation via text or messenger and just stop responding. Would not recommend working with this company. The only positive was Yeni! She was kind and helpful. Such a disappointment to not have other/more options.

Positive experience: Place was quick with the appointment. In and out no fuss. I know it's the style but the receptionist had such giant holes in her pants she had to hold them on while sitting in her chair.

Fantastic experience: We had a great experience. Thank you William and NWDrivers Ed for being here for my son when the DMV is not offering behind the wheel drive tests. He turned 16 right as quarantine was beginning last year. We live on the coast and were unsure when we would ever be able to try for his license. I was very excited to find nwdrivers Ed. Totally worth the trip to Albany. They were professional and super nice and informative. Would highly recommend them to anyone in need. He passed, now my husband is going with him 4 hrs away (only DMV we could actually make an appointment at) to complete his license. Ugh COVID!!

Negative experience: My daughter went for her drive test. She failed by one point. The examiner marked blindspot repeatedly and thats one thing she is consistent about, checking blindspots. She paid $75 and will have to pay another $75 to retest since DMV doesn't have any apps. I know she won't go back to this place and because of anxieties will take a long time to go back. I mean anxiety already made her wait until she was 21 before taking the road test.

Fantastic experience: NW Driver's Ed is the third party testing site in Albany, Oregon for DMV. They were very nice and accommodating. The only thing I didn't like (it was not the fault of this company but the fault of DMV) is that if you have to retake the driving test it is another $75. Great people to work with.

Negative experience: The plexi glass everywhere inside the vehicle is drastically ridiculous. The instructor seemed overly strict. I'm wondering if they're purposely failing folks just to get repeat customers and maximize there revenue. The guy after me failed too. Maybe I am being too distrusting but I am the customer. I can be. Yea, I'm skeptical. I think I'll schedule the retest with a different company.

Fantastic experience: My son had to take his driver's test at NW Drivers Ed due to the DMV not doing the tests. His instructor, Glenn, was very nice and his receptionist was kind as well. The car used for the test was COVID-19 covered down to the gear shift and the plexiglass separation.

Fantastic experience: We had an excellent experience. We received a call the day before to confirm our appt and they offered to move us to a location closer to our home which was very thoughtful. Glenn was the instructor who administered the test and he was awesome. Very professional, kind, and provided excellent feedback. I am now the proud parent of a licensed driver and am so glad we were able to do everything during this time. They also followed all social distancing and other COVID-19 related practices very well.

Fantastic experience: I have had driving tests at other facilities, so I had experience with the process of what to expect. However, working with Todd today has made a stressful situation into a much more calm and doable experience. He was very polite, funny and shows that he genuinely wants you to do as well as possible. Fantastic experience: My 16 year old daughter was very uncomfortable with driving and had experienced a driving mishap that made her anxiety worse just prior to her coming to NW Driver’s Ed. We chose NW DE based on a referral from a friend of my daughter who said he had a very positive experience from the Corvallis Office. My daughter really enjoyed the Albany instructors and learned a great deal about driving safety. We feel it was very well worth the investment and all of the staff (Todd, Andrew, & James) were professional and very good at instructing at her level. James was very clear, patient, gentle with his corrections, and informative during the required drives. We would very highly recommend NWDrivers Ed.

Fantastic experience: My instructors were great! Todd was an amazing classroom instructor and his experiences and stories not only made the course work seem even more relevant to life but also made it more interesting; not only was he an amazing classroom instructor but was also excellent while I was taking my final drive. James was a great drive instructor and helped me to feel confident in my driving and was very personable. Andrew was very understanding when I did my first drive with him and gave great instruction. Overall I am far more confident in my driving ability and am a much safer driver. Thank you to those above and all who were involved in my completion of the course!
