Negative experience: If you’re thinking about taking lessons here—don’t. Unless you enjoy being screamed at, cursed at, and treated with zero respect. I came to this school expecting professionalism, but what I got was a nightmare that left me in tears and forced me to cancel my road test. I initially took 3 lessons with Carlos, who was patient and made me feel confident in my driving. Before my road test, I purchased an extra class to refresh my memory and was scheduled to have my final lesson with Carlos right before my test. But at the last minute, he canceled, and the front desk reassigned me to Edward. From the moment I stepped into Edward’s car, I knew it was a mistake. I told him I wasn’t used to driving a car like his and needed patience. Instead, he was aggressive, unprofessional, and downright abusive—screaming, cursing, and even hitting my hands every time I made a mistake. His behavior left me so shaken that I started crying and had to cancel my road test on the spot. To make matters worse, Edward later called me acting like nothing had happened—completely dismissing his actions. They should be glad I didn’t make a police report for the harassment I had to face Avoid this place at all costs. No student should have to go through what I had to go through , especially before such an important test. This school needs to take serious action against instructors like Edward before more students experience this kind of mistreatment.

Fantastic experience: Had an amazing experience learning to drive with Edward! He’s super patient and stays calm no matter what. The way he teaches makes you feel completely in control and confident behind the wheel. If you’re nervous about driving, this is the guy you want as your instructor. Fantastic experience: Do yourself a favor and ask for Carlos, what an amazing instructor, he really makes sure that you are ready for the test, he really wants you to learn and be a critical thinker when driving. I took 6 lessons with him and that was enough to be ready for the test. I took it yesterday and passed it. Carlos put so much effort into teaching and he is passionate about it. I really recommend him from this school.

Fantastic experience: The admin was very helpful, Lana always answered any questions I had and swiftly scheduled me for the road test when i expressed that I was ready. My instructor Mohamed gave me very helpful tips for the road test and I passed my road test on the first attempt from this school.

Negative experience: Driving School is great, staff is very helpful but Driving Instructor Ashot is a sneaky armenian guy trying to get more money from you God knows for what and when you tell him you wanna call the school to understand what he wants he doesn’t wanna talk to them or call them But wants to squeeze you for extra cash. Just ask for different driving instructor and you’ll be good.

Fantastic experience: Mr. Ashot is an extremely professional instructor. He made my driving lessons very simple and easy. The way he taught the small details was very helpful. I was very nervous but because of Mr. Ashot I was able to pass my driving test on my first attempt. He not only focuses on how to pass you on your driving test but also how to make you a good driver. I would definitely recommend him as he is the best instructor.

Fantastic experience: I was not confident in my driving skills. I went to another driving school and the teachers there were not good. Saunders has excellent teachers Yuri and Ashot. Ashot did a wonderful job preparing me for my driving test. I passed because of him. He is strict but efficient in getting the job done. If you need a instructor ask for him.

But most of all, thank you to my instructor Ashot who is strict but will make sure you will be a safe driver even after the road test. Fantastic experience: It was the most wonderful moment as a first time driver and learner with Mr.Ashot. Mr.Ashot is a very great man and his way of teaching is wonderful, and easy. I was really nervous, but when he asked me are you nervous? I said no lol but I was. But I passed my test in the first time. So that reason is because Mr.Ashot. So for people who wants to drive or learn please I encourage you to go with Mr.Ashot. You will pass definitely you will pass.

Fantastic experience: Last time I drove actively was almost 20 years ago and since then, I drove a handful of times, if that. As my new position at work requires me to have a driver's license I reached out to Saunders Driving School, bought a 5 lesson package and was assigned Ashot as my instructor. When we met, Ashot gave me the rundown of exactly what you need to know and what you need to do in order to pass the road test at the DMV. He is a great instructor (he actually has a university degree in teaching), very patient, cares about his students and puts in maximum effort in making sure you are ready on test day. I'm happy to say, I passed on the first try. If you decide to sign up for classes with Saunders Driving School and get Ashot as your instructor, I can confidently say that you will be in good hands. The most important thing is, do EXACTLY what he says, put in the work and you will have nothing to worry about come test time. ONCE AGAIN, do EXACTLY what he says, put in the work and you will have nothing to worry about come test time.

I took 1 lesson with him and i learned more information from him than what I learned from another driving Instructor in 10 lessons. Negative experience: Stole my money and didn’t honor my package do not use them… they are thieves… they charged my card for 5 classes and road test and told me I never paid for anything spent months trying to get my money back.

Сертификат не правильно заполнили из за этого не прошёл экзамен, дали инструктора Владимир ужас мало того что мы 45 просто катались не чего толком не объяснил. Просто 230$ я им подарил. Место того чтобы все исправит на фиг послали меня вот это конечно сервис. Не рекомендую не кому. Все делают через одно место

You will know everything you need to know to pass the test with him! He makes you feel very comfortable and is serious when need be. I was able to pass on my first try. Definitely would recommend to a friend. The office had good communication as well and my experience has been pleasant. Wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Fantastic experience: What a wonderful experience. As an older driver needing lessons, the team worked with me on what I needed to get that PASS on my road test. The 5 hour course was very interesting and informative and time passed quickly. Ash was my driving instructor. He was firm and strict but very encouraging wanting only the best out of my driving skill. I would recommend Saunders School to anyone who is looking for driving lessons.

Negative experience: The worst driving school ever . Bad hospitality and communication by ady in the office ( receptionist )that speaks Russian. I paid 200 $ for 5 courses I had only 2 courses in 3 weeks ..my 3rd was canceled twice for no valid reason with instructor Mohamed and been advised to reschedule for 3td time again Tried to get explanation from the office , all I got for the receptionist woman is I can't talk to u now I have people here. I went immediately to them to get my refund which I knew it gonna be deducted as I already had 2 courses so I should get 120 back ...they wanted to give 100 only as there is 20 $ system fee, so I refused that and insisted on my refund and wanted to talk to the boss , she went to the back talked to him as he didn't bother himself to come talk to me n see what's going ( as he should as a business owner) She came back and agreed to pay me back 120 after all . So I had to argue for my own money . I don't advise this place to any 1 .

Fantastic experience: I had Mohammed as my driving instructor, he’s very helpful and professional at what he does, he’s flexible with the schedule you pick and is always on time.. he teaches you everything you need to know for your road exam (which I passed) and as every lesson I took with him I progressed my driving skills.. The driving school itself is very affordable at price and I highly recommend it to anyone who’s willing to get their license. Thank you all for your help at the Saunders Driving School!!

Fantastic experience: Mohammed is the best teacher there is! He was my 3rd teacher (I failed twice before) and he was the only one who pinpointed exactly what my faults were and showed me how to do them the test. He also teaches a nice little maneuver while parking that will impress the DMV testers even if your parking isn’t perfect. Highly recommend Saunders driving school for their great communication and straight forwardness. Ask for Mohammed !

Fantastic experience: Very professional and highly efficient business. It's a pure pleasure to deal with these guys. I needed to take a defensive driving class. One call the secretary found a group based on my availability, scheduled me, took payment, and provided all the necessary information. I would highly recommend this place!!!

Negative experience: I had an instructor Edward, who is also the owner of this school. He is a very irresponsible person who does not even remember you by the next lesson. The first 2 lessons he was 15 minutes late, and the third time he canceled the lesson altogether in 5 minutes. He was even 15 minutes late on the day of the exam and I had only 30 minutes to prepare for the exam. ( i passed btw). Every time I had to run after him to make an appointment, he could not answer the message at all, I had to write to him again to remind him of myself, he absolutely does not know the name of the streets and where we are, upon returning home he used a map, although we always rode the same neighboring streets. You probably have a question why I didn't go to another school or choose another instructor? I first bought 1 lesson, and then I already bought a package with 5 lessons + a car for passing the exam. After 2 lessons, I chose instructor Alex, I liked everything, but he does not work in the afternoon, and my exam was scheduled for 3.30 and I had 5 days before the exam and 3 lessons, so I had no other choice. If you still choose this school (because reception Svetlana is very kind and helpful, instructor Alex punctual and knows his job) then just not instructor Edward.

(if you want to pass) So I was a seasoned driver from another country (I had also been used to driving on the other side of the road) It was with much trepidation that I decided to tackle my driving test. I passed the written test on 9/10. Received the Permit ID on 9/21. Having read the excellent reviews I decided to go to Saunders. Due to Covid-19, they are running the Pre Licensing Course over Zoom to maintain social distancing! After watching the course which was led "both Edwards" - very well organized and seamless. I went into the office (9/24) to pick up the certificate and book lessons and the road test. Nina was extremely helpful, and explained the entire process. She was able to get me a test on 10/2 and get the best instructor - Alex! In just 3 lessons he was able to undo all my bad habits. He was thorough and meticulous with his explanation of the nuances of the driving test and was extremely patient with my reluctance to adhere to the necessary steps to pass my test. I took my test this morning and passed with much relief. Kudos and huge thanks to Saunders Driving School and Alex. AFA - Ask for Alex! (if you want to pass)

Negative experience: The school is great, unfortunately I cannot say the same about the instructor named Igor, basically he is a bitter guy who thinks he is better than everyone, it is very difficult to have a driving class with him, he should learn to treat his peers better

Fantastic experience: Thank god I went here , I only needed a car for the road test but the lady on the phone was so nice I and suggested one class before the road test , she set me up with Igor and thank goodness she did . He was very straight forward, get him with a lesson or two and I promise you you will pass he will try his hardest to make sure you know everything you need to know before the test

Negative experience: I took my 5 hour class with them and then decided to take driving lesson with them as well. 5 hour class was great, but my instructor "Mohammad " didn't teach me anything. First of all he never made it to any of 7 appointments on time. Everytime I called him 5/10 min before appointment to confirm scheduled driving class he would make an excuse and reschedule. Mohammad is so bad with his schedule that he doesn't understand that somebody else's time value. I took just 2 classes with Gold Success driving school and passed immediately!

Fantastic experience: Just passed my road test on my first try! I had a great experience taking my lessons with Saunders driving school. Took my 5 hour course here, which was very informative, the instructor would ask questions and test you. I then signed up for 5 lessons. The office staff were very nice, I had a time constraint and they fit me in really quick and really accommodated me as best as they could. My instructor was Igor and he is the best! He is so calm and gives all the information and tips you could need. He taught me more than how to just pass the road test, he taught me how to be a good driver. I'm sad it's over. If you want to learn how to drive, ask for Igor and choose Saunders. The prices are reasonable, not expensive. The cars are nice and new.

Positive experience: I write this review with very mixed feelings of Saunders Driving School. My first experience with them was on November 15th. I wanted to take driving lessons in Queens because I no longer live on Long Island. I spoke with the receptionist and I ended up getting a lesson with Mohammed that Sunday. My experience with Mohammed was very good. He was respectful, knowledgeable, and friendly. I had 3 lessons with him. Unfortunately, he went on vacation in the first weekend of December. Because Mohammed went on vacation, I needed another instructor. I called last Friday and bought the 5 lesson package for $320. I also got a new instructor, Yuriy. Yuriy is THE WORST instructor/teacher I've EVER had. First of all, he was late for our first lesson, which doesn't look good by me at all. First impressions are everything. Then, he wanted me to meet him at the school, where as other drivers have picked me up at my house. He pulls up in a brand new Honda. And drives around until we get to a "quiet" road. I've had a total of 8 lessons, I can handle roads with traffic. His first words to me are "I'm rude. I will be rude to you if you don't do what I say". You don't say that! So we switch places and I'm driving. He was telling me new information and it takes me a few tries to get it right sometimes. But he started getting rude with me, so I called him out on it. Then he said "Pull over. You're not listening to me, you think I'm yelling, this lesson is over." So my 1 hour lesson ended about 7 minutes in. Because of Yuriy's behavior towards me, I am no longer associated with Saunders. I called this morning and got my refund. I'm a teacher, I have patience and respect for my students. Yuriy should not be in the teaching profession if he is going to treat his students like that. So, if you want to have a very aggressive instructor who will treat you lesser than dirt and destroy any confidence you have, go to Saunders. If this doesn't seem like your cup of tea, which most likely it's not, go somewhere where you'll be better respected. Thanks for reading!

Negative experience: DO NOT GO HERE!!!! It is terrible. I signed up for driving lessons with Muhammad and he was awful. He kept telling me I needed more lessons and wouldn't do well on the road test. So I signed up for more lessons with him personally. He does not teach well at all. He always grabbed the steering wheel from me and told me not to look when stopping. He also took personal time for himself during my lessons. When I took the road test I failed. Muhammad told me he knew I would fail. He told me I needed more lessons. After 30 lessons with him I left. He seems money hungry. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!!!! I did not learn anything.

Fantastic experience: I took the 5-hour pre-licensing course there and it was very detailed and helpful. They taught us all of the basics of driving as well as taking the road test. The 5 hour classes are only on Tuesdays @5:30pm and sundays @10:00am, but they're only 45$ so its worth taking. I would highly recommend it to anyone who needs a pre-licensing certificate.

Mohammed was my instructor and he did a great job guiding me and providing me with a ton of helpful tips. Fantastic experience: Reception is very kind and helpful! My road test appointment was booked for the closest date possible - only 3 weeks to wait and thanks to groupon it was at no cost for me! I got agreat deal. I do have experience driving overseas, however I purchased extra lessons with this school just to make sure that I know how to drive in NYC. And I am happy I did. I took only 3 lessons. Yuriy was appointed as an instructor to me. He is the best. Sincerely, he can make it very tough for you while teaching, however, trust me, if you do what he says, the road test will become a piece of cake! I passed my test with first attempt and made only one mistake during the test Thank you! I will definitely be reccomending you to all my friends!

Negative experience: Don't waste you're money. Like the first bad reviewer I was skeptical but after taking classes with Mohammed he taught me nothing. He didn't even teach me how to do a broken U-turn. He always kept on holding the steering wheel and wouldn't give me a chance to drive. I paid for classes at anothe driving school and I was able to do everything that Mohammed wasn't teaching me and the stuff he was teaching me, a lot better. The lessons was 45 mins long and he only kept it for about 30 mins. He's very backwards. The people at Saunders are nice, and so is Mohammed but he will not teach you anything. Please stear clear, and go somewhere else. Go on Groupon and get their deal. But do not take classes with them. Word of advice.

Fantastic experience: I just got my license today on my first attempt!!! Thank you so much Saunders Driving school! As a short background, I never drove in my home country except for a week of practice 2 years ago, and had zero experience driving in the USA, or navigating the NYC traffic for that matter. As I need it soon for my job (in California), I searched a groupon and found a great deal with Saunders Driving school. (It was $70 for road test appointment, car for exam, and 5 hr course). Because I am afraid of taking and failing the exam, I took lessons in 4 different driving schools near me--with about 2--45min lessons each (by checking Yelp reviews) all within 6 days before my exam. This is to make sure that I could gather all information I could get from multiple instructors. On a side note, it is intersting to know that I was taught 3 different parallel park techniques by the different instructors! (1 is the 1 right, 1 1/2 left, then 1/2 left), the other is (1 right, 2 left, then 1 right to move forward), the other is (1 right, then left all the way, then right). After everything, I still loved being with Saunders Driving school the most. I learned how to drive with Edward. He is very sincere and caring. He wants you to be a safe driver, and really supports you to pass! He has been doing this for decades, and yet it still feels that he has the same passion to teach each individual tirelessly. From what I realized from my experience, the amount of wisdom and attentiveness you get in the driving class matters more, than getting multiple # of "practice/lesson" time with an unsupportive, rude instructor. I had an experience with (another driving school) instructor who did not care to teach well (if at all), was very impatient, and actively refused to listen. For 45 mins, he only allowed me to do 1 uturn, and 2 parallel parks--and that was with me begging to do it. it was such a horrible feeling, that the management felt the need to compensate me by giving a free extra lesson(Different driver). Still, it was an experience I hope no one gets to go through. My tip is to find a great instructor you can easily talk to and who really listens to you--then everything else will fall into place. Among those that I've been to, Edward is the best instructor if you are looking for one. ( To note, Saunder's school is actually a cost-effective choice!! There are more expensive schools that can give you the same service, but why waste extra money). The real truth is that they don't care about your money (at least for Edward). Funny thought is that I actually wanted an extra lesson, and Edward was actively trying to talk me out of it. In the end, I convinced him to let me practice 1 more extra lesson because I realized that after getting lessons from different schools with different cars each; I have to re-orient and really master the car I am going to use for the exam. Aside from this, I got a free 20 mins prior to the exam practice. My tips for the the people who would want to take the exam: (1) remember to look at the mirrors and blind spot!!! (2) always remember if the street you are on is a one way or a two way (to orient yourself whether you need to be in the middle or in the side) (3) when you are about to reach an intersection, check if its a stop/stop all way, or no sign at all. This matters a lot! (4) when you reach an intersection, know if you are going to a one way or a two way street (This matters because you need to know whether you need to go to the center or to the side) (5) have presence of mind for that short 5-10 mins of exam. It is a very straightforward exam--know your lefts, rights, uturn, parallel park and pull over. It was an overall nerve wracking but fun experience. In the end, It matters not what driving school you choose, because how you learn will really be dependent on you and the instructor you choose. I wish you all good luck!!

Fantastic experience: Edward is the best instructor! If you can take him!

Negative experience: The people at the office are very kind and very sweet and the receptionist is very helpful, but The instructor I had Name" Muhammad"., He didn't teach me anything. !!! I paid the school for some classes and I paid him some personal classes as well . when I took the road test I didn't pass it and he had the nerve to say he knew I was going to fail. He should have told me he wasted my time , all he wanted was the money. Don't get me wrong !!! He is sweet and very kind but he is not a good instructor. Yesterday I took my road test again I went to another school called Junction driving school and I passed!!! Be aware do not use the school to learn how to drive just take it for your 5-Hour class don't waste your money or even your time.

Negative experience: Wish I could rate it not even one star. Instructors believe that your scheduling needs are a joke and staff rudely cut you off when you complain because they have better things to do than accomodate customers who have paid. If you want tpo be treated disrespectfully and like if you are irrelevant saunder's "school" is the way to go.

Fantastic experience: I've been meaning to do this for awhile. I took my road test with Edward; the sweetest and most encouraging person, a born teacher! Regardless of the fact that I didn't take any classes with Saunders or Edward for that matter, he was still very kind and encouraging and rooted for me to pass! (Did I mention I was late?) lol what a mess, I got there nervous, breathless but Ed's calm and fatherly persona just put me at ease. I also took my 5 hour class at the office and everyone was kind and helpful! You can wake up everyday and be obnoxious expecting kindness in return or you can be kind and not expect anything, with a clear head and open mind.

Fantastic experience: Passed my road test in 2nd try (1st with Saunders school) after taking 3 lessons. Instructor Edward was nice and told me lot of important thins to remember during test. Overall good experience.

Negative experience: Be aware!!! Very very poor customer service!!! They do not respect their clients. I was there ones with coupon, and old guy came and stared yell at me, he said if u do not like just get out! I was shocked.Very rude! I'm not recommended !!!

Fantastic experience: great school, great prices, great instructors. Mohamed is great instructor, thanks to him i passed my road test from 1st try. I had 0 driving experience and 5 classes was more then enough. whatever negative reviews people put here talking about that the school and stuff are rude its all BS. Thank you guys again

Positive experience: Driving school, are normal classes that you have to watch in every other driving school. Honestly the 5 hr class is just a video you have to watch in order to take the road test, I think NY is the only state that continues to do this. I have attempted to take my road test in PA and didn't have to take my 5 hr class there. Yes I failed because I didn't take any lessons and prepare before hand. If you need more experience behind the wheel, I definitely recommend taking classes with Mark! I took 10 classes with him in a matter of 6 weeks and I passed! So happy that I finally got my license. Before I went to Saunders Driving School I did read the reviews and read that Mark was recommended. I took their advice and passed! So I want to return the favor to whoever is reading the reviews, there not all bad! The 2 reviews below mine must have called on a bad week. I received my license 2 weeks ago! You can't beat these prices either for the 5 hr class and the lessons. Also a heads up if you do decide to take lessons with Mark, he's a tough guy but he just wants you to understand what your doing and pass your test! :-)

Negative experience: BEWARE! BEWARE! BEWARE! These people are the rudest driving school in NYC. As soon as I called, this nasty pitiful Russian accent quasi female pig answered the call and immediately hung up on me. I called her back thinking it was just a no biggy mistake, and she says something in Russian and says busy busy busy in English. Busy to make an appointment for driving lessons? She "call me back", but never did! All my friends had the same experience with these useless Russian psychos. Don't waist your money here. READ OTHER REVIEWS MY FELLOW STUDENTS! GO ELSEWHERE EVERYBODY!
