Fantastic experience: I am in my 30s and needed to get my license because I am an expecting mother. I am a very anxious driver but I felt comfortable with the driving instructors I had (I mainly drove with Kevin, but also drove with the owner). I didn’t pass the test on the first try but it was more due to the anxiety of taking the test than the instructors. After not passing, we worked on what I did incorrectly the first time. The second time I passed! I would definitely recommend this school to both younger and older drivers.

Jennifer was very understanding and patient in teaching me the rules of the road. I was also grateful that I was able to schedule classes with her easily. Negative experience: Wasn’t the best. Half of stuff that taught me were good but the teacher they gave me just sounded so bored like he didn’t want to be there. Asked me if I knew how to parallel park and I told him I didn’t and told me to forget it? Like u are suppose to show me how too if I’m paying you? Than said other stuff that just sounded so rude especially with my own mother in the back seat listening to everything. Sounded annoyed when I didn’t know something and i literally have a learning disability.

Negative experience: Worst driving school ever they are discriminating me about my weight they stop giving me lessons because I’m overweight. And the driving instructor are rude and impatient.

Negative experience: I have never driven a car before, and the day I went to this school for the first time to start learning, it was the worst experience. He was so rude with me(kaz). I want to tell him that you will lose customers. If I knew driving, why I come to learn? . I changed school and I learned to drive without being subjected Bad treatment I saw with this school

Negative experience: I was driving to work today and had the unfortunate experience of coming close to a collision with JLW Auto School car (W36997). Based on this, I would not want these instructors teaching anyone how to drive. When turning into oncoming traffic the instructor should have indicated to the student to wait until it was safe to turn, not allow them to drive at my car and stop in the middle of the road causing me to jam on my breaks thankfully stopping just in time to avoid a collision.

Negative experience: I didn't get a chance to actually drive with the instructors because I was so fed up with their rudeness and unprofessional-ism that I just went to Universe Driving School for lessons instead, they much are easier to work with. Also this school is very weird about making copies of permits, even if you want just 1 lesson they require you to make a paper copy of your permit for their "records" instead of just taking a picture of it or writing down the permit number like other schools do. They replied to another bad review a year ago saying its in case police pull them over, but that's false because all the police actually need is a valid license/permit number in RMV's system (the kind normal schools write down when making your appointment).

Fantastic experience: I passed my road test in just one attempt with this school. Prior to JLW i was enrolled with other school and i failed my test there and so i decided to go ahead with JLW. Instructer was very nice and very accomodative with my schedule also, she made the road test slot available for me within 2 weeks just as i wanted. Hands down best experience!!!!!

Jonathan is a very patient instructor, he helped me and my aunt pass the road test by giving few tips that were never told by any other driving schools. Also, they have better (almost the lowest) price for the classes as compared to the other driving schools in the area. They are very proactive with scheduling classes and road test. Took just 1 lesson with Hsiao muy Tan (I believe that’s her name) she gave me key points on my driving and bad habits that would have definitely made me fail my test. She may come off as if she screaming at you but if you just listen, you realize what she is telling you is good help. She’s got a good teaching system, really points out where you need to work on on your driving and even followed up with me after the test to know if I passed. Thank you for your help.

Fantastic experience: Literally the BEST in great Boston area! I highly recommend this driving school. My instructor is Jennifer. She is very professional and warm. She pointed out every details in the testing I should notice. I passed my exam w/h first try and only two 45 min classes! For the road testing, I choose “sponsor road test” service, because my listening is not very good. During the road test, Jennifer was in the car and translating all the instructions very clearly, so I was not nervous at all. Really great teaching and service! Appreciated.

Fantastic experience: Thanks to the amazing instructors at JLW Auto School, I was able to pass my road test after just 3 lessons with them! They give such clear instructions and really teach the technical stuff. Leading up to the road test they went above and beyond to get me familiar with the general area and do whatever possible to prepare me for the test. Fantastic experience: I highly recommend JLW auto school. I took classes with Jonathan ($36 per 45 min class). Jonathan is an extremely sincere teacher who takes his job seriously. He makes you focus on the details and makes sure to keep reiterating instructions so it’s well ingrained in your mind. He only made me take the number of classes I needed to make me feel confident of my skills. I took 5 classes after which I scheduled road test through JLW school which covers the logistical costs (car they provide, their time, their help in bringing RMV officer to test you on preferred date including Saturday). I passed my road test easily (was tested for parallel parking, 3 point turn, pull over and back up and general road driving sense) thanks to Jonathan’s coaching. I then paid RMV fees ($85 total including road tests and Real ID fees) and received my Massachusetts license in one week. I highly recommend Jonathan and JLW auto school for your lessons.

Fantastic experience: I signed up to take a Saturday road test through JLW Auto School, and they managed to schedule me for the first available Saturday. Their communication was great, the location was convenient, and the price for the test was better than most other schools in the area! The instructor was very helpful, patient, accomodating and believed in me even though I was afraid. She was able to get a quicker date and was very kind. I live in Salem but did not mind going all the way to Malden. I highly recommend JLW driving school to anyone looking to get their driver's license immediately.

Negative experience: I took one driving lesson, while the instructions were good and conveyed well! This particular teacher does not know how to communicate with females. He laughs and mocks at you for not carrying learner's permit (which can be communicated politely), which in the first place was not communicated. He himself was not carrying my learner's permit copy and neither was I told to keep a copy with me in the first lesson(to which he said you forgot). This is not a professional behaviour while conducting any class. His communication is also very poor. So I do not recommend this particular instructor.

Before JWL I had class with Friendship where I didn't get to learn technique to be on road test on Somerville and went to JWL.KAZ mad me ready for road test which was very helpful. since it's a nightmare to do, especially for new drivers. Fantastic experience: I had a wonderful experience at the school, and I completely recommended it, after two lessons I passed. If you want to know why I think this is the most convenient school, and the best relation benefit-cost in the Boston Area continue reading. After failing my first Driving test I wanted to practice before taking it again. Because of the pandemic, I was moving my test again and again, until I realized I had just one month before my learner's permit expired. I did not have a car for the test so I began to call every single driving school in the city, asking for lessons, car, and sponsorship for the test day. Classes were up to $80 for 45 min and the car with the sponsor was close to $300, all of the schools told me less than the same with similar prices. Then I called JLW, and they explained to me, because of the pandemic, the RMV would provide the vehicles. The strange thing was that none of the schools told me that, and it is very difficult to believe that none of them know that the RVM provides the cars for the test. I had to call the RVM directly to confirm that I did not have to pay $300 to pay for the car and the sponsor, but no JLW told me that was the first big demonstration of honesty. Then I was so nervous that I wanted to pay for 5 classes, but they told me just one class and according to that they would tell me if I need more. After the next class, which was incredibly helpful and clear, I felt like Daniel-San with Mr. Miyagi of the movie Karate Kit, wise, short, and deep instructions, you learn so much in so little time. Jonathan is a great Driving master. At the end of the lesson, I wanted to book more classes and my instructor told me it was not necessary, that I was good enough. Do you think that any other business would be so sincere to you? But I insisted and booked the second one. The result was a great learning experience, fair prices, and a new driving license. As I told you before. Completely recommended. Thank you JLW and Jonathan!!

Fantastic experience: I already knew how to drive (been driving for about ten years in Western Europe) so I really only needed to borrow a car for the road test. For $120 you can make use of their cars and take a road test in the weekend, which is very convenient if you need to work during the week. I failed the first time because I didn't prepare but passed the second time with ease. So pro-tip, save yourself $155 ($120 car borrow fee plus $35 RMV road test fee) and study the instructions that come with the RMV road test registration form. If you are comfortable with these maneuvers you should pass without any issues.

Fantastic experience: I passed the road test at Malden today!! Jenn is my instructor and she is the best. Without her, I couldn't able to test. I failed my road test last year with different driving school and I had panic problem when I have to drive again. Jenn gave me several mock test and help me gain my confident in retaking the test with JLW. I take lessons at Malden all the way from Quincy. It was so worth it. Jenn has best parallel parking trick and also taught me technique to fix the parallel parking. I learnt a lot from her. Take lesson with Jennifer and take road test with JLW.I am sure other instructors are good too. I highly recommend this school. Thanks so much Jenn!!

Fantastic experience: I will tell you before anything else that I failed the road test last year (with a different driving center) and I was toying with the idea that I may live a lifetime without driving. I thought I may never find myself in a frame of mind to be cut out for it, and became too comfortable with storing it away for a later time. Most of my daily and future plans were related to the fact that I couldn't drive, and this did limit my opportunities. The psychological fear about driving grew and grew until I decided that enough was enough and I had to conquer this. When I decided to jump back into it and search for driving schools, JLW caught my eye as both affordable and highly reviewed, a rarity. I drove with Jen, and while she may have been blunt at times during our lessons, which occasionally shook me up a bit, and there may have been a few language barrier situations, at the end of the day her faith never wavered that I could pass the road test. I'm reminded of Ben Shapiro who said, "Facts don't care about your feelings." I implore you to soak up what she's saying because I passed the road test easily today, when only so recently I had wondered whether I could ever do it! I told her I'd be willing to do many lessons but she insisted I only needed 5 or 6, and I decided to trust her judgment, even if I struggled with whether I had the same faith that she did. Trust her eye and absorb her quick instructions and you will build that trust in yourself as a driver. Thanks Jen and JLW Auto School.

Fantastic experience: It’s been almost 10 years since I last tried driving, and thanks to Jennifer I was able to make myself prepped for the test in just about 10 driving classes with her. If you do not want to get yourself bothered with the road test via RMV, then this school is a right choice for you, as they have special arrangements with RMV, and you can take a road test in Malden.

The instructor patiently takes her time to teach her students the importance of driving and she goes over the things that you would need to be able to do in order to pass your road test. I took my road test last year (June 2019) and before the test, she made sure that I was able to do all the things that was required to pass the road test. On the day that I took my test and before the person assessing my driving came, she did a quick review on what I needed to know before I took my test as a reminder to ensure that I knew what to expect once I take my test. For anybody that wants to learn the basics and importance of driving safely - I highly recommend that you to come to this auto school because I guarantee that you will not only pass your road test but also understand the importance of driving in a cautious manner. The lady is patient, honest and caring. She wants you to pass your road test but at the same time she cares about your ability to drive smart and safe. This auto school is one of the few schools in the greater Boston area that ACTUALLY cares about your safety.

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience with JLW Auto School. I learned a lot of the rules of the road and tips for driving in the Driver’s Education Program. The price is more or less reasonable especially with the future pros being taken into account, and the instruction is great. Jennifer is really good with making sure you know the rules and making sure you are prepared for when you actually get behind the wheel, in terms of driving defensively and safely. She was very flexible with my tight schedule as well. Kaz is a great instructor! He is calm but still constructive with your driving maneuvers and techniques. He is very attentive and gives you helpful tips and feedback to improve even the smallest part of driving. He is a good person and teacher in general, and I am happy to have had him as an instructor. They are both amazing people! I passed my test, and I can very much accredit a lot of that to this school.

Positive experience: I took one lesson with Jonathan. He was trying to explain & give details (for that I give 3 star) but it was difficult for me to understand all his instructions. Mainly, he and his car both were smelling of cigarette which I found unprofessional. The school is slightly cheaper compared to few other companies I spoke with, so if you have been driving and just need one lesson, you can try it. Otherwise, I would recommend paying slightly extra to be comfortable.

Fantastic experience: I just passed my drivers exam! So happy, it has been long overdue. I only took about 4-5 classes that were 45 min long (for $32) with Jennifer. She was able to help me with the skill of parallel parking which was something I was struggling with. If you are looking for a one time pass I was lucky enough to come across this driving school. They communicate with you very quickly through text which I find very helpful rather than phone calls. And like I said before, 45 min lessons for $32 - is a steal deal for me. Great!
