West Texas Driving Academy is known for its dedicated instructors and supportive environment, making it an ideal choice for both teen and adult driving education. The academy offers flexible scheduling and various class times, catering to the busy lives of students and parents alike.

Several users reported difficulties in reaching the academy by phone and scheduling driving sessions, expressing frustration over unreturned calls and scheduling delays. Additionally, a few reviews mentioned issues related to inconsistencies in the driving instruction provided.
Nevertheless, numerous parents and students have praised the instructors for their knowledge and ability to make the learning experience enjoyable and stress-free. Overall, if you're looking for a driving academy that emphasizes safety and effective education, West Texas Driving Academy has much to offer, but potential customers should be aware of the communication challenges that have been reported.
West Texas Driving Academy: Reviews
Negative experience: Every time I call they hung up the call.i had to drive to the office were 3 girls and a guy in that location not even busy came with the scuse that the system drop the calls on its own.update your system.stop coming up with dumb scuses.
Negative experience: Had my child attend here. They couldn't even get the packet right so she could get to DPS and obtain her drivers license. This place has been a pain from the beginning. Recommend going elsewhere.
Fantastic experience: I totally loved West texas Driving Academy, I was able to get my license the 1st try the day of my birthday. The teachers are super nice, really helpful and they for sure make you laugh if you are nervous. I totally recommend this school
Thank you so much for the 5 Star review!
Negative experience: I paid for the service, but they took my money and then refused to schedule a road test, eventually claiming they didn't have time. I feel scammed by their unprofessional and rude behavior. Do not come here!
After examining your account, it appears that your test was supposed to be completed by January 2024. Regrettably, our agreement allows a 60-day window for taking the test, and that period ended in January. Your review was submitted in mid-November, which is a full 10 months later. It seems that the delay in taking action has led to this predicament.
Fantastic experience: Awesome driving school, went there for driving lessons and the driving test and was able to get my license in a few days. The instructor was very nice and super helpful, I learned a lot and definitely recommend this place.
Thank you for the 5 star review!
Negative experience: Takes forever to get you permit never answer the phones . Its the worse school for teen .!!! Go to sun city its way better there was amazing and they actually answer your calls
Negative experience: I paid $60 for a driving session but had to cancel. The driving school assured me that the refund would arrive today, but it didn't. When I inquired about it, the school said it would arrive by 5 pm. To my surprise, the manager called me in a panic about the possibility of me suing them, even though I had never mentioned it. Thanks to him, the idea has now been planted in my mind. He played himself
Hello Mark! Thank you for your feedback. We want to clarify that our manager's call was a standard response to your inquiries and was not made in a panic. We take pride in our customer service, and while we are committed to resolving issues, we expect respectful communication from all our clients. It’s important to us that our staff, including the front desk team, are treated with respect. We appreciate your understanding as we work to resolve this matter.
Fantastic experience: Rick made the process super easy and he’s very understanding. Great environment and learned a lot. Would definitely recommend!!!
Negative experience: They never have the certificates on time and never answer the phone to schedule drives. Customer service is not there at all.
Mrs. Gonzo I apologize for the inconvenience of your call not being answered. We have been experiencing issues with our phone provider, but please know that we are doing our utmost to respond to all calls. We are looking into transitioning to an online scheduling system soon. Additionally, we are currently facing an increased number of calls from teens who should have completed their driving requirements by June (March, April). Throughout the summer, we were available and actively providing driving lessons, but many teens delayed their progress, leading to this surge in inquiries. This summer has also posed challenges in getting certificates from the state processed in a timely manner, which is unfortunately beyond our control. We receive shipments every Wednesday and Friday, and we have been open with parents and teens about the situation from the start. Thank you for your understanding.
Fantastic experience: So I had a great experience with West Texas Driving Academy and I’m making this review because first of all I’m the type of persons that always views reviews.Well let me tell you that they’re great at accommodating for instance if you work weekdays they do also offer the classes on Saturday. My experience was great since the beginning because Ric (the owner)is such a great person he’s very empathetic and gives such a great customer service he bought us donuts and later he bought us the whole class pizza and Refreshers.I felt very nervous on the 1st driving test but he tought me well to the point that I passed the Test and I couldn’t be so much grateful to have just gone to this specific Academy because they do care that you pass that test and you learn Thank Ric.Anytime that I hear someone is looking for a Driving academy my experience was that great that I always forward people to also get that great experience by stopping by their Academy and also taking their driving lessons and courses with WTDA.
Fantastic experience: It's been a very positive experience. They have various class times and work with us to help with payment. Highly recommend.
Negative experience: They will never answer your calls to set up drives. go somewhere else if you want to get your license in a timely manner.
Fantastic experience: I did the online teen course and it was such a breeze! I’ve always had a big fear of driving but I had most of my drives with Mr. Barroso and he really helped me feel more confident and comfortable behind the wheel. It was a bit of a hassle scheduling drives because of how busy they are but there’s always a way to work out things. I admit I’ll miss it a bit :))
Fantastic experience: Shocked at all these bad reviews, got my permit here when I was 16 and they made the process so smooth. Adrian was the best!
Negative experience: They should answer the phone every now and then...only once have I gotten someone to answer and then they put me on hold and forgot about me
Negative experience: I would give it zero stars, they’re extremely rude, never answer the phone and when they do they purposely hang up on you, I had to go in person to schedule the drive for my son and their excuse was they had problems with the phones. Well I guess they always have problems with the phones since it’s on a daily bases that they don’t want to answer and hang up on you. They need better training
Negative experience: This place is a WASTE of time and MONEY. The process is longer than what u think and the price of the program doesn't include the fee for the license and permit. They will tell you all the trips u got to do back and forth once u already paid and are sitting in class. The owner and manager are unreachable. They won't see another dollar from me or anybody I know. There's better options out there. Save ur time and money.
Negative experience: This school is a Joke, they charge you all this money and when you take the driving test they flunk you to keep charging you.
Mr. Hernandez I’m sorry you feel that way. The problem with society is that they can’t take it when they’re wrong/fail. When you fail with us we give you the option to go test with DPS. That offer is extended to all our customers. At the end of the day you took that test and failed no one else. You can’t blame anyone else but yourself. So who’s the joke ? Not us because we take giving people a license very seriously. If you fail its because you don’t have enough experience to be on the road or to have a license. Please feel free to come and take a practice drive with one of our great instructors.
Fantastic experience: Thank you for everything!!!
Thank you so much for the 5 starts.
Fantastic experience: Thank you guys for helping Hannah get her drivers license! FYI didn’t know I was matching your store front!
Thank You for taking the time to write a review! Your picture came out wonderful! Congratulations to Hannah !
Fantastic experience: West Texas Driving Academy did an outstanding job in the entire process of teaching my daughter how to drive and in getting her driver's license! The instructors were knowledgeable and thorough while also being very kind and considerate. Mr. Barroso, the owner, assisted us every step of the way. I would recommend West Texas Driving Academy to everyone!
Thank you so much for the 5 stars !
Fantastic experience: Amazing! Amazing! Amazing! Came here to do my road test (took my course online) and had a great experience! Although I failed my first time, driving instructor Mr. Martinez explained what I needed to improve on for next time. He even went above and beyond to show me diagrams of the mistakes I was making. I was able to pass my 2nd time and now know what things I should always keep in mind everywhere I’m driving. Overall I’d rather take my test here than at DPS. Thank you to Ric and Mr. Martinez for everything!! 10/10
Congratulations Hannah! Thank you for the review !
Fantastic experience: Friendly staff, easy to enroll
Negative experience: Update called this morning and spoke to Beyoncé or something like that who was extremely rude. My daughter drives are all paid and I spoke about not being able to go in and when I call on Thursday’s after 4 and Fridays that it goes straight to VM and you can’t leave a message. I asked if there was any other way of scheduling her drives? Her response was well there’s nothing I can do for you, I suggest you make it to come in because again I can’t help you. Owners name is Rick and I highly suggest you rethink your staff. It’s so frustrating having to call to schedule drives and the phone goes straight to VM and then it says the voicemail is not set up. I am unable to go in to the location Thursdays and when I am finally able to get someone to answer or go into the location usually Fridays, they don’t have anymore appointments for drives. My daughter needs 2 more drives and turns 16 on the 24th. She wants so bad to have her license for her birthday, but at this rate, who knows.
Fantastic experience: This driving academy is honestly one of the good ones. I was skeptical at first but notice how evolved they are with the students. If you as an adult or you want your child to learn to drive properly, I do recommend them.
Fantastic experience: Great business principles. Had a slight issue and the area manager went above and beyond to resolve it. I highly recommend this school for the level of driving education given to its students and great customer service.
Fantastic experience: They are very helpful and kind people as well as very patient with you!
Fantastic experience: Best school in town, they helped me get my license quick, they offer you classes and the driving exam as well in their car. They’re extremely knowledgeable and very friendly. The owner Rick was very helpful and willing to accommodate me to any time due to my crazy schedule. I highly recommend them.
Mr.Rubio ! Thank you so much for your the 5 star review! I’m so happy we met your expectations. Here at WTDA we strive to always give our customers the WOW factor. On behalf of me and the staff we THANK YOU for your kind words. Ric
Negative experience: Don’t recommend unless you don’t mind wasting money. I payed $225 for a one day adult class to receive my drivers license where I’d get 2 paper tests and the road test. They had said that a “mock test” was included where they basically give you pointers and teach you to parallel before your test so you’re more than prepared. I didn’t receive that. I was tested and failed. They also pulled me out to take the road test in the middle of the paper test review so I got 3 questions wrong. I’m really not sure who anyone’s name is but the instructor with the glasses had told me they didn’t have anyone “open” to give me the mock test…but they did for the road test? Not to mention i was the only student out of the class testing that day so it’s not like they had a lot of other students testing that same day. I then return another day for my second attempt and i tell them what the instructor told me. Which was that i could reschedule my road test and i will also receive the mock test that same day since they didn’t give it to me in the beginning. When i tell the lady working the desk this, she starts telling me i have to “schedule” the mock test and i would not be receiving it that day. she gave me an option to reschedule my road test or just take it without the mock. so i chose that because i was already tired of dealing with all this. i did text my mom to let her know i’m getting all this misinformation and she got upset and called the place. i don’t agree with how my mother handled it but since she called and got angry at them for not providing what they said they would, especially after how much i paid, they tried to tell me they’re not testing me anymore because my mom is “being mean”. so i told them no i HAVE to test today because i payed for it and i can’t keep scheduling days off from work to come here. They finally let me test but i failed again after that whole scene. i was just overwhelmed and very nervous. i just passed today after my 3rd attempt that i also had to pay an extra $25 for. the same curly haired girl was there assisting me after my pass and she wasn’t being the nicest either. overall, very stressful, and frustrating experience. you’d be better off at another school.
Alexis I’m sorry that you feel that you wasted your money. Here at WTDA we take customers service seriously. The Mock test is designed to help not so strong drivers. We came out up with this package because 9 out of 10 young adults like yourself were failing. Just like you had to test 3 times before passing. I’m sure that mock test that you finally did, helped you out . You didn’t mock test because your mom demanded us to test you that same day. Again we are about customer service so if the law allows it we will do it. You were the only one that was pulled out because you had a valid permit. We test when adults go on a break. I do not allow them to pull adults out. My staff would NEVER tell you that “we don’t want to test you cause your mom is mean” in fact it was a courtesy that we spoke to your mom. You’re 18 years old and considered an adult. As for the curly hair young lady I will coach her on better handling rude and obnoxious customers. Lastly you paid an additional $25 for a 3 attempt. That was explained to you and your mom at the beginning of this transaction. I do always recommend that customers look around for a school that benefits them. I can guarantee that no one does a better job in taking care of customers like WTDA. We’re largest drives school in El Paso for that same reason . Serving El Paso for 10 yrs ! If you have any other questions please feel free to contact me at the school 915.857.1700. Ric Congratulations on passing your drivers test ! Remember, please don’t text and drive! Stay safe.
Negative experience: My daughter registered here to take the written test but did not sign up for driving classes. Well when it came time for driving tests, they failed her even saying they couldn’t believe she was driving and suggested she sign up for their driving classes…hmmm, pay to pass? Hell no, we’ll just go straight to DMV. This place seems corrupt.
Thank you Alex for your concern regarding your daughter’s testing here with us. Amongst the conversation had with your daughter it was suggested that she take some lessons as the instructor has seen many errors that she had been making. As for “paying to pass” that is a completely false accusation, we would never “pass” a student because they paid for drives to do with us! Our organization has a reputation of Integrity and maybe this is why you have some anger that we didn’t pass your daughter initially. We have them do drives with us to help them become a better driver on the road and now if you are not practicing with your daughter at home that is completely your fault for not giving the tools to help her become successful with her driving. It takes a village to help the youth to become well experienced drivers on the road AND this is the reason driving schools exist. As a parent, I am going to want to hear all the constructive criticism to help my child to do better as a driver and this is something you have to accept; this is the reason we go through the test thoroughly afterwards. Although, it is harsh to tell them everything that they are doing wrong when it comes to the driving test, you have to remember lives are at stake once they receive their license and if you are going to allow your daughter to be a hazard on the road this would not constitute behavior of a responsible driver or parent. If she has passed the written portion then it is determined that they are knowledgeable of what is to be expected as a driver, if she is lacking the on the road experience maybe it would be beneficial for you to take her out to practice more before testing again. Ric
Negative experience: You are better off taking your driving test at the DMV since at this school they charge you around $100 to take your test with three chances, and at the DMV they only charge you $11 for the same amount of chances. Not only that, the person who tests you is very rude.
Fantastic experience: We're very happy with how things went with our son's driving experience overall. I want to especially thank Mr. Rick Barroso, who went above and beyond and helped us schedule our appointments with the Texas Department of public safety after our son passed his final driving test! Thank you for a great experience and helping getting our son ready to start driving!
Mrs. Farrell thank you so much for your kind words. I’m so happy to hear that you’re son had a great experience with us. Each customer has different challenges when it comes to drivers Ed so we try our very best to help to resolve them. Remember that you have friends here at WTDA whenever you need anything. Ric
Fantastic experience: Our daughter enjoyed the experience. Management made themselves available and really work with scheduling. They also offered solutions that worked when we did encounter obstacles. Happy to report we have another safe driver hitting the road.
Mr. Ramirez thank you so much for your review. I’m happy that your experience was great .
Fantastic experience: BEST driving school in town! Instructors are very knowledgeable. The owners are very attentive. This school offers both teen and adult courses, driving lessons AND driving test… talk about a one stop shop! Highly recommend!
Mrs.Burks thank you so much for the 5 star review.
Fantastic experience: Very informative and helpful information about young drivers and their drivers education, will be back again soon
Beto Hernandez! Thank you so much for the 5 star review. Remember our door is always open if u have questions. Thank you for supporting small businesses.
Fantastic experience: Super friendly and professional school. Thank you for the help.
Mr.Ochoa ! Thank you so much for the 5 star review. We appreciate you supporting small businesses.
Positive experience: My kiddo said she liked the instructions and the owner is really great. The staff needs customer service training.
Negative experience: Can someone tell me how to get through to scheduling drives every Thursday at 4 when no one answer? But that’s all they can do?
Hello Andrea ! I’m sorry that you have been calling and the phone has been busy. We get a load of calls at the same time. We always encourage you to come to the location to schedule your drive. That’s why all our school are located in from of high schools.
Fantastic experience: Had a great experience here, I was accompanied by rick! He was awesome! he gave me some pointers on what i need to work on and made me feel comfortable and let me practice my parallel parking. I Defiantly recommend this place!
Hey Jesse ! Sorry for late response. Thank u so much for the review. I appreciate you leaving me great feedback. If you need anything I’m here to help you out buddy. Ric
Negative experience: Absolutely unprofessional. I took the adult course and the instructor, Inette, made a really rude, unprofessional comment. She asked who hasn't driven and I had not so I raised my hand. She asked why and I answered honestly saying it was my anxiety. She made a remark that I needed to "get over it." Absolutely disrespectful. Both Inette and the receptionist talked loudly throughout the ENTIRE permit test. Halfway through the permit test the instructor realized she forgot to teach us entire portion of the curriculum. I am PAYING for this class and I expect better from the instructors and institution for the price I paid. I called today to get some information about the course I had paid for and how to go about getting my permit from the DMV and the receptionist didn't know anything and kept insisting she register me for a class. I do not recommend this school at all. Your money is better spent elsewhere.
Negative experience: I chose one star because of how unprofessional this place is. I started going to this place in late of January. The class itself was really good the teacher was really informative and nice. But when it came to behind the wheel is where it went wrong, I had scheduled for practice driving and every time I’d call the receptionists kept saying they’d call the next day and never did. I gave them numerous chances because I spent money on them and all I needed to do was do a few practice driving courses and then the exam and that’s all but the whole scheduling part for behind the wheel was a mess. They would take forever to get back to me and then whenever I wanted to schedule it on a certain day they’d have to wait for the instructors approval and that’d take more time and I would still never get a call back. I was ALWAYS calling them pretty much multiple times a week trying to see if I could get a practice driving course and I only got one around Valentine’s Day. The experience driving wasn’t that great. I was cooperative and following instructions but the instructor was very unprofessional. When we met up at the place he didn’t introduce himself at all whatsoever he just gave me the keys and said “ready to drive?”. When we got in the car he I had troubles reversing and I wasn’t used to driving a car so I was relying on him to help me because at the end of the day that’s what he’s there for. He kept playing with the radio, he kept calling people, and he didn’t seem super interested in helping me and had the audacity to ask me why I don’t drive. Like seriously? That’s a personal thing to ask. He wasn’t very engaging and I would try to make him talk and he would still be quiet. I felt like I was driving by myself at that point and I had to take mental notes on what I needed to work on because he wasn’t helping me at all really unless it’s for pulling out somewhere or teaching me how to break. He wasn’t really doing much. I also noticed he was checking the clock on the car a lot to see when I was done as if he was ready to leave already. My appointment felt really rushed and I hated that a lot. When we got out he said in a sarcastic tone “that was fun right?” And he left to go home . I tried scheduling another practice driving course while I was at the place and she said yet again I’d have to wait for her to call me back. That’s like their thing to say and then get mad that I wasn’t driving a lot because no one was helping me. They were extremely lazy and unprofessional there. Then after the drive there was a snow storm here so I waited a few days and after everything cleared up still no call. A week ago they called me saying that I had a drive again but no one informed me about that. I told her no one told me and she “apologized” and I said can I just reschedule instead and she said yet again she’d call me to see if anything was open. As you can see there’s a pattern of them being inconsistent. If you’re not an experienced driver you have to drive multiple times a week to get the hang of it but since there’s so many gaps of me not driving I already forgot what I “learned” the first time. So when I requested to see if I could get a refund the receptionist sounded offended as if I was doing it to troll around when I wasn’t. I used only a small portion of the money I gave to them when it came to the behind the wheel and I wanted the rest back so I can go somewhere else. She asked me why and I told her what happened and she said do you know who went with you and I said no and she told me to describe what he lookedlike but she said I couldn’t get a refund. It took up until we had to go up there in person to get a refund because they’re money grabbers there. They want money but not do the work to get there. When we requested for a refund again the instructor was lying on me and saying that I had multiple driving lessons when I didn’t there’s literally files that they keep and it shows how many lessons you have. He also offered free lessons instead of giving me the money.
We are sorry that you are disappointed with our service. I would firstly like to apologize for any confusion and miscommunication handled with your drives. Our front desk are trained to gather information to rely this information to determine which instructors are available to be scheduled with an adult student such as yourself. The owner did speak with you and he did mention that his dad had just passed away during the time you were trying to schedule and since this is a family owned business, family came first in this situation; however, he did apologize and took full responsibility and yes, he did offer you free driving lessons to compensate your time and dissatisfaction in hopes to give us another opportunity for our services. He didn’t hesitate to give you any remaining balance refunded to you and we do find it an unfair statement you calling us “money grabbers” when the owner did offer you free driving lessons in conjunction with your refund. It has been noted on your file that the offer still stands, even after this negative review, to receive the free lessons as this was an isolated event due to the passing of the owners dad. As for the instructor that drove with you, we are sorry that he didn’t communicate much information on your driving lesson. We do train instructors to gather information on students experience and whether they are driving at home or not. This is very important information for our instructors to gather background knowledge to know your level of experience or whether or not you will get help at home. As an educational institute we need to work together, this is why our instructor did ask why you were not driving at home and I’m sorry if you found that offensive but they need to know your level of experience or if you are a true 100% beginner. Also, for the glancing at the clock for the time, instructors have other students scheduled and they have to manage their time when leaving and coming back from their drives as time management must be handled with care. There needs to be an understanding that the front desk is unable to schedule adults with no knowledge of availability from an instructor. It would be irresponsible on their part to schedule a student without any knowledge of true availability; communication needs to be made amongst the owner and instructor before our front desk can just hand out dates to students, this is the reason students would be called back for a schedule. We have been in business for over 10 years and there is no way we would handle business in this manner. We have a successful business rapport with parents, students, and partnered local businesses alike to even think about jeopardizing our reputation because of an isolated event such as this case.
Fantastic experience: Adrain was the best! Learned so much!
Fantastic experience: Mr. Martinez was my driving instructor and he is literally the BEST! He’s very helpful and attentive. He had no problems going over things I was having complications with and he has a very positive and calm aura. He didn’t get frustrated with me nor did he raise his voice. He went over everything more than twice and I needed that. He talks you through everything so you’re not left in the blind. He was always on time and ready. He tells good jokes too so that kind of eases the tension of the whole thing. I’m thankful for him and im getting my license thanks to him. He needs a raise and he is HIGHLY recommended!
Fantastic experience: The staff very nice and friendly I highly recommend this place.
Stephany ! Thank you so much for the 5 star review. We truly take pride in what we do. Thank you for recognizing us for that.
Fantastic experience: Adrian is the best pokémon trainer ever!
Fantastic experience: I initially had concerns regarding my daughter Jazmines driving tests, so Rick followed-up with me and was a true professional , he listened to me , he apologized for my stressful situation, he explained the process, and clarified his commitments to us as customers, then he offered a solution which absolutely worked-out for us .. a true community leader hands down and will definitely recommend his services 100% ..
Fantastic experience: Really good place straight to business helped me with scheduling due to my situation ric and instructors understanding great place to get your stuff done.
Donavan ! Thank you for this great review. As an owner i feel blessed to have a great team and customers like yourself. God bless !
Fantastic experience: Very willing to work with students and parents to get drives complete.
Thank you so much for the 5 star review. Here at West Texas Driving Academy we love to help our community in any way we can. We know how hard it’s been these last couple of months for everyone.
Fantastic experience: I wasn't sure if paying for driving school would be worth the expense, but it was worth every single penny! Rick and his staff honored their end of the contract and beyond by extending our deadlines due to COVID-19. They are always extremely helpful and willing to work with me. I am impressed with how the level of safety precautions they have implemented as a result of the pandemic. West Texas Driving Academy was a smart investment for my teenager.
Fantastic experience: i overheard something about an angry parent when i was at this location making payment. My son and daughter both recently finished their drivers ed courses (one in the summer, and recently) at the El Dorado location, and they were very happy with the in class instructor and the car driving instructors. They had a great time in class and were even bummed out when they were done stating "He didnt make class as boring as some teachers at school" I read the other reviews one as recent as today and dont understand these parents frustration. The owners are very caring and attentive, my daughter had scheduling problems because she is personally busy with being a senior in highschool and they helped her finish on time. I believe some parents dont understand that these kids are lazy sometimes and dont wanna do drives, but these kids are also nervous as we all were, but my kids had a great time! a message to parents-- Make sure your kids do their 7 drives in the alotted time given, but us parents also have to drive with them to fill the 30 hour log, the school is to help them figure out how to drive, we have to practice with them. As for the prices, i paid about 800 give or take for both of them, but it did come with in class instruction where they learned the details and dangers of driving, 2) the actual driving lessons 3) the driving test at the end that i was not offered at El Paso Driving academy. this school was perfect, we gotta do our part too though. As for prices, you get what you pay for.
Negative experience: Beware of this place I received an email this morning regarding a special they had for 1/2 off of tuition. I contacted office on Dyer and was told regular price was $300 so I thought it'd be a bargain to pay $150 for the course. I contacted the Edgemere office and the lady was nice, however, she insisted regular price is $475. $475! Out of curiosity, I contacted different driving schools and the price range is from $285 to $300. How dishonest of this place to raise prices to get away with still making $25 more for the course than other places. Needless to say, I will be taking my business elsewhere and warning my daughter's friends parents about this place
Bertha thank you for you response and concern regarding our driving academy. We highly encourage all parents do their homework on the best academy for your teen; it could be a few factors of friendliness and location or just the best price in town. We really understand this concern and for this reason we have created many promotions and packages as you have inquired about and you did receive an email blast with a really great promotion. While your teen is not a current student of ours, you might miss out on this opportunity to receive a great deal! Let me explain, our promotions are based off regular tuition rates and not any specials we are currently running or set packages. When we put our program into a package for your teen the rate goes down because you are receiving the premium package (the everything package) if you choose to add options later you would end up paying more. We pride our academy on up to date technology in our vehicles keeping your teen safe when driving. Having the latest and the greatest is one of the perks we like to comfort our parents with knowing their teen is safe on the road with our instructors. However, today’s promotional email you received may have been misunderstood as I can clarify this for you, the $150 is off our “regular” tuition which means you cannot receive a special on a special. Our Dyer location is a franchise location which means they run their own promotional tuition based on their area that they are located. This means that, Dyer as a franchise location is under West Texas Driving Academy but they set their own prices and for this reason this is why they were not included in this email blast when you review the email again it will only have Pebble Hills, Edgemere, and Horizon. One last thing I would like to clarify is in regards to our package, it includes the drivers license test; not all schools offer the testing because only a few schools are licensed for this testing aka Third Party Testing. Again, I apologize for any confusion this may have caused. We are here to help you in any way we can.
Fantastic experience: Great school and really nice employees. My driving instructor really pushed me to be a safe and cautious driver!
Fantastic experience: As a parent I had a concern with the quality of driving instructions my driver had received but the owner addressed my concerns with care. I appreciate that the owner heard my concerns and made appropriate adjustments to allow my driver a better driving experience.

Fantastic experience: Great school!
Fantastic experience: They’re very informative, easy to work with, and they’re a lot nicer than the people at the DMV!
Negative experience: They supposedly don't schedule drives until 4:30, but you show up at 4:15 and are told there are no more open slots for drives. They only allow students to sign up for 1 drive a week and force students to do more than the required 7 drives required by the state . It's impossible to get anything done with these people.
Alyson Klein I’m sorry for any misunderstanding that you may have had coming into our facility; when parents and students come in looking for drives for the current week it already had been set and scheduled and when we are scheduling students at 4:30 it is for the following week in advanced. We schedule students’ only one drive per week as we work with parents and our students to ensure that they are also receiving practice at home. It is very imperative that the practice driving is occurring at home with parent/guardian as our school and home lessons are coming along smoothly together. We do not rush our students with their drives and if parents are expecting them to be driven with consecutive drives then we advise them that we are not the school for them because our goal is to train safe drivers. As an organization we have a moral obligation to our community that every teen leaves our facility as a safe and well rounded driver. We offer more drives than any other school, for the practice for the students that need it, for the parents that request the extra guidance/help and by no means do we force our students to do more than what is required by them. You can call our office and we can clarify any information and concerns you may have 915.799.5222
Fantastic experience: Great school
Fantastic experience: Very smooth to work with as long as you complete all the requirements in a timely manner and practice practice practice. Knowledgeable staff and great communication
Fantastic experience: great school
Fantastic experience: Best driving place ! I highly recommended !
Negative experience: Trying to schedule drives is impossible
Jeremy, I'm sorry to hear about this situation; however, we encourage for teens that attend El Dorado to walk to our location to schedule when available. As I looked over our schedule and reviewed your daughter's record she has been scheduled for the coming weeks which means no more calling in as she has been accommodated for the remaining of her drives. I hope that we have been able to resolve this issue for you as quickly as possible.
Fantastic experience: Great service and easy classes.
