Negative experience: I can’t give this place a low enough rating. They WILL NOT go through the pre trip with you. There’s a little guy that walks around the truck and talks like it’s an instructional video twice a week and that’s you’re entire training. The very first time I ever got to do any kind of pre trip and actually speak was at the testing site during my test. When asked why I can’t have somebody just listen to me for 15 minutes to make sure I’m saying everything right I was told “they don’t do that.” THEY WANT YOU TO FAIL. They charge you $500 to test after two tries and will never say a word to about it until you’ve tested. I cannot explain to you how much they don’t help. These people should be in Prison, I have no idea how this is legal. I talked to 5 different people from this school personally and every single person had failed the pre trip at least once. Guys with trucks that had been driving for the last 30 years. All failed because this place WILL NOT HELP YOU WITH PRE TRIP. I completely wasted $2k, I 100% regret giving this place a try. I drove to Longview, went to a two day school, and passed my entire test first try. I learned more at CDL Truck Services in the first 5 minutes of being there than I did in 4 weeks at this dump. Please do yourself a favor AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS

Negative experience: The only one that will work with you and have a better communication is the guy name ADRAIN everybody else there is useless, specially the new chubby guy that’s supposed to train you he ain’t worth a dime , didn’t even wanted to do his job right try to only give me a 30 mint drive didn’t teach you anything basically on his phone not even paying attention and then he don’t wanna get out the truck and help you do anything don’t even teach you or gives you any tips on how to drive the tractor properly, the best guy to talk to is Adrian but unfortunately his always busy unless you have your money up

Negative experience: Told me I’d get 3 practice test drives, every time I called the office didn’t pick up and when they did, said they were too busy and would have me reschedule. I finally got test drive they owed me on the day of the test, which was 15 min. Apparently that was the only time they were available.

Fantastic experience: This school will work better for people who already know what they are doing, passing the test is on you, not on them, I learned pre trip by showing up to a couple classes and studying at home. When I obtained my CLP I then found ways to practice driving trucks with others, came back and took my test using their small truck and passed on the first try. Passing is up to you, not them, remember that. They just provide you with the tools, the rest is up to you.

Positive experience: Provided a pretest Q & A. Provided a Truck and pre-inspection seminar, the rest is up to you. And rightly so.. only you can pass the test through studying and practicing the pre-trip on your own. Pro's, Worked well with my schedule. Unlimited very detailed pre-trip inspections. Pricing- about average when I was looking around at other companies that provide the same service. Trucks are smaller than average18 wheeler.. that's a good thing when taking the test. Cons, lack of communicating the importance of reading the DMV CDL handbook. Chapters 9, 10, & 11. No mention of DMV instructor having you simulate an emergency stop or a railroad crossing stop. I just happened to witness someone from CDL express fail because they did not know how to perform an emergency stop. Lucky for me, right? Advice, go to as many pre-trips as possible, study hard, get online and watch other videos to help you gain knowledge. I failed twice, passed on 3rd test. Would I recommend? YES!

Communication is terrible, I'm still until this day unable to get my cdl with this school, they will give u the turn around, and will give u all sort of misinformation. Fantastic experience: CDL Express turned out being perfect for what I needed, a couple practice drives/pre-trips (specifically backing up the truck, and going over the trailer side of the pre-trip) and I Passed today (my first try!) I couldn't ask for more. Great service and the best price by far! Highly recommend!

Negative experience: This place is honestly terrible. Their trucks are old and falling apart, their communication is terrible!!! They never pick up the phone and aren’t in the office most of the time so it’s very very hard getting ahold of these people. The big part is that they don’t even really teach you anything. Their pretrip is bare minimum to pass. You get only 3 1 hour drive times so if you never driven a truck and trailer it’s not enough time to learn anything. Their wait time to take the DPS test is super long. When I was there it was a 2 month wait time for automatic and almost 4 month wait time for standard. I failed with them because their truck broke and I lost all my air pressure during the air brakes test and they won’t even admit that their truck broke. All they said was study some more and try again and scheduled me for another DPS appointment 2 MONTHS LATER! So I went to a different school (Trucking training company) and got my CDL within a week.I wouldn’t waste my time here and find a different place to get your CDL

I had a terrible experience at Class A CDL, but after only two-hours of behind-the-wheel training at CDL Express I got my CDL no problem. Fantastic experience: Awesome place to go. Ole will teach you how to pass your pretrip but if you don't say and do EXACTLY what he says and does you won't pass. You only get 3 1hr sessions to drive ( unless you pay for private lessons) so pay attention to what they say. As Ole says go home and practice practice practice saying the correct way at home and practice pretrip on your own vehicle because when you get nervous ( and you will) it will be like second nature what to say because you've practice it over and over again. I just got my license 12/28/20 and passed everything my first try and I drawled the full truck and trailer inspection and took me 50-55 minutes to finish. Remember the dmv inspector will fail you for the smallest of details so it is critical to SAY and do EXACTLY what Ole teaches you for the pretrip. Take notes and video him if you have to and go home and practice. Hope this helps someone.

Fantastic experience: I went in here looking for information and i signed up for the Automatic CDL A on 7/27/20. On 9/3/20 I received my CDL from the DMV. I have never really drove a trailer but these guys are really good at what they do and are there to help you through the whole process of obtaining the CDL. Ole explained everything that needs to be done and what needs to be said during the pre-trip. He lets you record him so you can go home and practice and review at your own pace (strongly encourage to really study for the pre-trip). For me Jimmy (Only 1 hour of drivetime with him) was the best to explain as far as the driving part although it may have seemed I was annoying and possibly frustrating him with questions he will break it down for you and help you out when its all said and done. All the guys there are very helpful and they are there to answers any questions you have and will help make sure your prepared to pass to get the CDL at the DMV. I never wrote a review before but I just want to give them a shoutout for helping me receive my CDL.

Fantastic experience: Bad reviews here had me debating if to come here. I am glad I did not listen to the reviews and decided to give them a chance myself. They give you everything you need to get your permit, work with the days and times you need to practice, and really educate you on what to know and what to say for your pre trip inspections. It is a lot to remember they give you everything you need it is up to you to do your part and study. I was able to get my CDL within a month and a half with no problems. If you already know how to drive a stick shift somewhat and you’re willing to put in the study time at home, this business is a great option for your Standard Class A. They teach you everything you need to know to pass all tests. They also offer Automatic Class A & Class B training, all programs are very affordable. Highly recommend.

Negative experience: DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT use this company. Upon signing up for the course we were promised unlimited time for driving and group classes. Come to find out you only get 3 hours of drive time. If you want a private class you can pay an extra $150 to come on a Saturday. The class "lingo" that they teach is not the same that is in the CDL handbook. If you fail your test after the third try you pay an extra $250 to use their truck. It seems like they want people to fail so they can keep collecting the $250 each time. If you do decide to use this company I'll say it is cheaper than renting a truck yourself to take the test however, you will definitely be on your own when it comes to learning anything from them. The only reason they get one star is because no stars isn't an option.

Fantastic experience: I started in September and I went for the manual class A cdl I’m a be honest I was skeptical of the methods of how this was done I did what they told me to do I studied and came to pre trip as much as I could and when it came time to take my test at the dps I passed the pre trip inspection the first try I failed the backing but passed it on the second try I failed the driving and I passed it on the 3rd try ... I did pass and get my cdl and they did work with my schedule for practice driving and they were on time at the dps .... Overall I’m glad I went here and I got my cdl thank you

Fantastic experience: This guys are great, they will work with you but you also have to put in the time and effort. Most of these bad reviews are from people expecting getting your CDl will be easy. Come in on the pretrip classes Monday’s and Friday’s get there early pay attention and even record. They offer one on one classes and payment plans which is very affordable. The pretrip instructor is very clear and knowledgeable and is a cool guy he helped me a lot. The driving instructors will teach you how to back up, offset and parallel knowledge of driving standard is recommended. I was able to pass my cdl A exam with ease.

Fantastic experience: Top Notch CDL place for renting a truck for DPS drive test. First off the owner is 100 % honest and give you great training on how to pass the skills test. If you listen and pay attention you will pass on the first try.

Negative experience: Do not come here! The owner and staff are completely unprofessional and they seem to charge you whatever they want at any given time. For example when I first called about what I needed I got a way different price over the phone than the one they gave me when I actually went in. They have a rule that they want you to have your balance paid off before you take your final test which I understand, but when I called the day before my test to explain that my bank account had been compromised and that I would need to reschedule my test I was told that if I didnt pay them now then they would charge me another $100 to reschedule my test. When I called to explain again that not only was there not enough money in my account but that It would be impossible for me to get there before they closed they simply responded with "that's just how it's going to be". Their excuse for charging the extra $100 was because it's a hassle to reschedule the truck which is a non excuse. I was in the office the first time I rescheduled all they had to do is wheel their chair from one desk to the other and type a couple things into the computer. Then their is the training or lack thereof. I took a test in a manual transmission truck I have never driven a vehicle with a manual transmission and I didnt get behind the wheel of the truck until my actual test was starting. Yea that's right the day of the test was the first time I got behind the wheel! Thankfully I have a fair amount of mechanical aptitude and I also used YouTube so I was able to pass my test but I would say I passed in spite of this place and not because of. If all you need is a truck rental there are other places do yourself a favor and go to them you will just waste your money and time here!

Fantastic experience: I was a homemaker for many years. I was clueless mechanically speaking. Thanks to CDL express, my husband, and I are PROUD business owners, in the dumping business! We both went to school at CDL express “twelve years apart.”We wouldn’t be here today without the help from Adrian, and his instructors. Adrian the owner, was very straight forward. He has over 25 years of experience. Not only is he professional, likewise extremely knowledgeable. I had critiques from him, that are to this day, paying off in my driving. This is not a school, that is going to give the crowd of students a hug, or a pat on the back. You are given, and taught a full proof way to pass your pre-trip exam, and road test. Ole spends HOURS going over your pre-trip inspection. He has the patience of a saint. Ole teaches by the book. He gives so much insight from what to expect from the examiners. Besides teaching, and instructing one of the best pre-trips money can buy. Ole works with everyone. He doesn’t discriminate. Expect this instructor to teach you what you need to know. He pushes all to enunciate LOUDLY, with confidence for your examiner. Ole is a gem. He literally idiot proofs the pre-trip inspection. Sure the pre-trip is long, make time. Yes it is hot, come prepared. Come and apply yourself, you will walk away from this school with your CDL. Jimmy, and Justin are knowledgeable. They are all there to help. Come with a open mind, and on time for class. If you want or need, one on one time with the instructors, more than what you paid for, the time is available Saturday’s if you pay another small fee. Ask the front for pricing and times. Make sure you see your name and phone number penciled in their calendar. For every specific time you are meeting with the instructor, or testing. These guys are very busy. There is a high demand for drivers. Expect for your experience as a student to be a crowded one. You are going to have to push your way to the front. You are going to have to have patience. On your own time practice your pre-trip out loud. I strongly recommend grabbing a student and practicing with the trucks, and the pre-trip sheet provided by the school. While you are at the school. When your home get a family member or loved one to listen to you re-sight your pre-trip. This is a school that is cut and dry! You are provided ABUNDANCE of help from the school. Fantastic experience: Adrian, Ole and Jimmy are total pro’s! I Highly recommend CDL Express to all persons desiring a CDL licence! Ole teaches you exactly what and how to say it to the examiner to pass your pre-trip. You do have to study though, my recommendation is to record Ole’s teaching and then memorize what he says during the pretrip demonstration. You do that, you pass the pre-trip guaranteed. Now for the driving, Jimmy is an excellent driving instructor and teaches you all the do’s and don’ts of the exact route you drive for the test. The trucks they provide are the best you’ll find for taking your exam, they are short, simple to drive with a little 6 speed trans, no double clutching etc. The short flat bed trailer makes the backing part of the exam easy as you can look through the back window to help see what your doing. The only issue I had was getting a hold of them on the phone, but for the most part when you're there in person after seeing the pre-trip on mondays and fridays, they are extremely helpful and responsive. I had a test and I paid for but they said it’s been six months you have to pay extra . 5 min before my test and I said ok I have no choice coz you get appointment for like 7 week so I aggre I told them I paid after my test coz I didn’t have time to go atm and get money I went in line truck was there and I was getting in truck but josh who works for them he said no need money rite now I was agree to give my credit card to hold but he told dps no I am taking test I waist all day and missed my schedule for test . They are not proffestnol at all . Rude ! I give credit to Adrian but he told them no . I am pissed . Find some other people please even they don’t teach or tell you how the test gonna be . Don’t waste money unless if you want to borrow there junk truck

I highly recommend not using this company or even trying to get ahold of them. huge waste of time

Fantastic experience: Really like how I got treated here. They trained me to drive, back up and do the parallel parking. I had no experience what so ever and I passed the first time. They will teach you what you need to know.

Negative experience: Don't spend your money here. During classes it's so many people that you can't even see what's going on. Plus they are hard to get in contact with. I schedule my appointment but then they forgot to write it down so I had to take my test in an automatic when I was suppose to use a standard which puts a restriction on my license. I don't know if they are under staffed or just disorganized. LISTEN, spend you money else where plus I hear they charge people differently.

Fantastic experience: I read reviews BEFORE, I went to CDL express. I talked to Jimmy. This dude is a very sincere man and all the guys there were 100% Good people. If anybody had it bad it was me, I flunked at DPS twice and they stuck with me and comforted me to the end. DPS gave me a 3rd try on a moments notice and they got me the truck, I needed. I put this on everything. Look no further, these guys are with you and don't accept the negative press. Nobody messed up like, I did and these dudes were my motivation. CDL Express been in business this long for a reason. GOOD BUSINESS

It all boils down to money with these folks, Ohlé is the best within the company, Adrienne runs the show,Justin is a (ROOKIE) prick that shuffles trucks/trailers to all DPS offices for testing but this guy should definitely be replaced.He dropped a trailer on the yard knowing we were doing PRE TRIP INSPECTIONS on it the morning of Friday July 21st, got into the truck to go to another individuals test ,didn't observe that the 5th wheel wasn't locked and waisted well over :35- :40 minutes getting it off of the ground. I laughed and said"Rookie Actions". However going into my ROAD TEST date of Monday the 24th of July and since he had to had been embarrassed and mad showed to my ROAD TEST :36 minutes intentionally late with the right tail light not working and no Windshield Washer Fluid in the reservoir knowing that he was going to a test for me being the student to use the truck and also knowing that everything had to be within a 700% range of perfection to continue onto the actual Road Test. Which i couldn't take due to the fact that this truck wasn't actually ready since Justin bought it there with (2)(-)discrepencies that will prevent you from being tested. As if he didn't know this. CDL EXPRESS didn't just hurt me they hurt my children's livelihood as I've been doing into this ordeal since 99' so they just had to find some way which or the other to collect extra fees off of me. Then how about because i told them that this truck wasn't to come to DPS lacking WWF and not all tail lights not operating they go on to tell me that they simply refuse to allow me to test in their truck. Oh really.

Fantastic experience: Cdl Express is a great school to learn for your CDL Examination. Don't go to CDL Felipe; I paid CDL Felipe 900 dollars and never got any training from them. They were always telling me that there manual truck is not available for practice. They charge you a lot for 6 hours they provide you for training but they deduct the time for pretip training as well from the 6 hours they give you. CDL Express is really good when it comes to Pretip inspection training because they do it every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. You can do the pretip as many times as you like. Adrian is the owner of the place and he is a man of his word. When CDL Felipe screwed me over, Adrian gave me his word that he will help me pass and took care of me. Justin is great he was on time for my road test at the DPS. Jimmy is great but he is very hard on students because he wants them to learn the proper way of doing everything, he is a little hard to ride and learn with but some people need trainers like that. Olay is awesome. He is the one who teaches pretip and learning the technique of backing up and parallel park was easy with me and everything made sense. He gave me some great pointers and advice. Just ride with anyone of these guys and you will learn something unique from them all. They give you 4 hours on the truck which wasn't enough for me so I just paid them extra for an extra class. Thank you all for you help and time. I now have my CDL license because of them.

Negative experience: I use this CDL Express school. Really I have very bad experience. Thay have 2 standard truck only.when I start class there thay ask me to use automatic but I pay for .standard ! CDL Express boss his name jimmy he is very rude! There is no time for class if u r late ! Thay talk much and then u going on time in class u never know anyone give u class on time or no. For truck practice thay have very old truck there is no place set for class only stay in out side under tha sun very hot . So I can say pls don't use this CDL Express school . There only just teacher very nice he help everyone. When my final test in DPS 8 am . I was waiting for CDL Express truck . When I call them jimmy told me he don't have diesel in truck so u can think about it how can thay give u class. After I give them money I ask jimmy DPS give this day appomint my CDL test he told me we don't have tuck on that time. He never tell when u pay money so be careful before u go there. I 100% say don't use this CDL Express school thanks

Fantastic experience: These guys are great and very patient! They give you step by step instructions on how to pass all your CDL Tests. From the written, road, and air break test, these guys know how to get you on the road quickly. With the new laws enacted in December of 2016 you're going to need someone to help you through the process of getting your license. I highly recommend CDL Express.

Negative experience: They full of crap, they charge some people $400.00 and some people they charge $800.00....... And they don't train that good

Positive experience: I needed a truck to renew my cdl. CDL EXPRESS was there and reasonably priced.

Negative experience: Was scheduled to be there at 1pm when I got there there was a few people waiting when I go inside they said I had to wait another 20 minutes for the secretary to get there i was there an hour she didn't show up so I left went to another place and took me in right away. Don't go there

Fantastic experience: Today I passed the road test for the CDL, I didn't have the time to train, Jimmy yesterday gave me an hour of training with devotion and patience. Today was present to answer all my questions before the test. I highly recommend CDL expresss. Jimmy you're doing a great job!!!!!!

Negative experience: Worst experience ever. Material they give not much of a help to pass the test. Their boss is a really rude person with a bad actitud to the customers. Please be aware of this place is a complete rip off

Fantastic experience: Was definitely worth the money, they we're there for me teaching me everything they knew took, they take there time to help in any area's you need all the way up to test day. Highly recommend to anyone seaking a CDL!!

Negative experience: I just needed a truck to pass the driving test and was disappointed at the service. It's like pulling teeth to get them to answer the phone. Also, I felt that I needed more practice time behind the wheel which they were VERY reluctant to provide. On the scheduled test date I was told to be there an hour ahead of the scheduled time so I could do one last practice session but the truck did not arrive until just as the test was starting. Not happy but also not a lot of other options.

The company personals are very polite and cooperative. They are good listeners, flexible payment options and trying to help as much as they can/you need.
