The level of professionalism in this place is beyond horrible... how will they offer a class for 4:45pm and then say that it actually starts at 6pm with no previous notification and then have the audacity to scream at me like I was the one who misinformed them. Waste of time. Lack of communication. Disrespectful towards paying customers

Negative experience: DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY - My experience with Starlinx Driving School has been nothing but frustrating and unprofessional. After paying $350 in August 2024 for both classroom and driving instruction, my son completed the classroom portion, but the behind-the-wheel training has been a complete disaster. The owner, CharlesKpodzo, and his staff have demonstrated poor business practices, including: - Confirming then canceling lessons - Leaving students waiting outside a locked facility - Cutting scheduled 2-hour lessons to 1 hour - Dropping my minor child off at McDonald's instead of the school - Denying confirmed appointments - Not answering calls during business hours - Refusing to provide written policies When trying to resolve these issues, the owner claimed he couldn't check schedules because "the office was closed" but then called back hours later, claiming my son wasn't even scheduled (despite previous confirmation). When asked about their refund policy, I was told I had to physically come to the office to read it on their wall - completely unacceptable for a paid customer. While the classroom portion went fine (30 hours), the driving instruction has wasted time and money. My son's driving test is coming up and we're now scrambling to find another school. Save yourself the headache and go elsewhere. The only positive is the classroom education - everything else has been unprofessional, unreliable, and frustrating. Choose another driving school! Fantastic experience: Charles, Gary, Farukuddin were my three driving instructors. I had enrolled in their 10 hour driving course. They are great, knowledgeable, patient, and fun instructors. Their teachings helped me pass the mva behind-the-wheel test on my first try with only 10 hours of driving practice. The entire process was quite smooth. Negative experience: The worst place to take a test. I made an appointment to take the test of drugs and alcohol, they gave me an appointment and when I went to take it, an hateful girl said “you don’t have an appointment”. She wasn’t nice, I don’t know hoy they have this kind of person working there.

Negative experience: The owner of this driving school was very disrespectful to my family I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone at all.

Positive experience: I only have one complaint. The receptionist who works at the front desk and answers the phone is just really rude and short tempered and makes you feel less than others. Consider i would in the service industry that is just not the way one should operate towards people paying another for a service. I won’t go in to detail because that’s no necessary. I just hope she can be a little more of a people person and nicer to other who walk through the dooor. I have taken this class, my husband has taken this class and my sisters will too eventually. Nothing wrong with anyone else. Ms miles is great and the driving instructors are fantastic in my opinion. And Mr. Charles only wants others to succeed. Just do better. Most customers are teens some who have driving anxiety and or ptsd. Other are grown ups who’ve never had the chance to accomplish this till now. None of which is their fault. You are helping them move forward in life and all you have to give is attitude and stank face. Stop it.

Negative experience: The receptionist was rude and unwelcoming when I called today (11/16/23) to inquire about the services the school provided. When I pointed out that she was providing poor service , she simply hung up. Ownership has to train their receptionist better because they represent the image of the company from the customer's perspective. I ended up taking my business elsewhere with better customer care. Update ( 11/20/23), in response to the owner's reply: You are trying very hard in your replies to bad reviews to discredit the personal characters of the reviewers instead of accepting constructive criticism as a responsible and successful business would do . You are full of innuendos. Let me set the record straight : There has never been a universe in which I called your business to show some form of personal interest to your staff. That is simply a lie that either you and/or your employee have concocted to appear in the right . This is ground for a defamation lawsuit. That's shameful and sleazy on your part. I called on behalf of my wife who was right next to me asking : 1) what are the advantages of paying for the option to bring your school car to the MVA driving test ? To that question, I got : I don't know . 2) How much does it cost ? I am not so sure was her response. All that was done in a very dismissive way. So I decided to take my business elsewhere and write a review for you , the owner, to be aware and train your employees to provide better answers. However, based on your reply, rest assured, we are both glad that I will never set foot to your school. Thank Goodness! To the prospective student drivers, based on this owner rude and argumentative reply to the low reviews, I wouldn't advise you to go to this school at all. And based on their false accusations of asking for their employees number , I wouldnt be surprised if they falsely accuse and slander people for worse without proof.

Fantastic experience: Great Driving School. Do the online class ! It’s 100$ cheaper than in person. 3 hrs a day might seem like a lot but it’s really not, especially since you get a 20-30 min break. Just remember to pay attention in the class and you’ll be fine. I would highly recommend you choose this school. The in person driving is very helpful and they let you know which MVA is best to go to.

Fantastic experience: Coming from a different country and at almost 40, I never drove before, so I had to go through the whole process of getting a license. Starlinx Driving School helped me along the way from the theoretical classes to the driving lessons, including the behind the wheel test at MVA. The teachers are supportive and the cars are in great condition. My wife will go next to the driving school.

Fantastic experience: I looked at several different driving schools and went with Starlinx, and it was fantastic. The staff I met were nice, and my driving instructor Mr Emmanuel did a great job and was really friendly, he really prepared me with everything I needed for my drivers test! The online class and behind the wheel class went really smoothly and I would recommend Starlinx if you are nearby.

Fantastic experience: Did the in-class, BTW, & 10 hours practice driving with them. Classroom instruction on Zoom was ok (what you'd expect from a class). Driving was great--Mr. Gary, Mr. Emmanuel, & Mr. Charles all pay attention to everything you're doing so it's not too stressful, even in MD. Spent most of the time with Mr. Emmanuel who's very patient & fun--practiced parallel parking, backing in, driving on the freeway, and pretty much everything else besides night driving. Passed driving test on 1st try @ Beltsville (although I'd recommend going somewhere else b/c you'll be on line forever). No complaints but make sure to call ahead to check your appointments b/c they're very busy sometimes.

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Starlinx Driving School! I passed my driving test yesterday at the MVA on the first attempt thanks to all the instruction and training Mr. Emmanuel gave me behind the wheel. I had only ~6 hours of driving with Mr. Emmanuel and he taught me all I needed to know on passing the road test within that short time frame. I also found the zoom class with Mr. Gary and Mr. Charles to be very helpful and useful as I was previously not knowledgeable of some of the things I now know. I had been with 2 other drivings schools in the past, but my experience with Starlinx has been the best and exceeded my expectations. I am really happy about my experience with Starlinx and would highly recommend!

He was an amazing instructor, very professional and Mr Gary was an awesome driving instructor for the driving portion. I would recommend to anyone looking for a driving school! I also would advise that people schedule their MVA driving test as soon as you can since they’re booked about a month and a half from now.

I agree with your assertion that reviews are for customers and their experiences, but you fail to take into account that your business does not operate in the confines of a single establishment; your classroom is the world we all live in, and you have a civic responsibility that includes modeling good driving behavior yourself. Since your business operates in the public domain, the conduct of your employees in public is subject to criticism from third party individuals who are affected by its operations. You suggest this wasn't the proper forum, but it got a response from you within hours, so it was clearly effective. My original plan was to delete this review after the issue was addressed, but considering your antagonistic response that displays a total lack of humility, I think it'll stay. I doubt it will affect your business, and I honestly hope it doesn't; from the other reviews on here, it seems like you're a very good driving instructor. I have no hate, intolerance, or animosity for you personally, just a desire to live in a safer community... and that includes calling out mistakes when I see them. Original Post: Was driving home last night when I witnessed the Starlinx Driving School car performing aggressive and legally questionable maneuvers. While I was waiting to turn left at a stop sign, the car came up behind me and went into the right turn lane, only to swerve behind my vehicle as I began my turn. He then proceeded to cross the double yellow line into the oncoming traffic lane in order to cut in front of me on the left hand turn, before flooring it down the road. As there was only one person in the car, I'm presuming this was the "instructor", although if that's the kind of driving you're teaching your students, I'm not sure what qualifications you have to operate a driving school. Bad idea to drive dangerously and inconsiderately, and even more so when your car is a highly visible advertisement for your business.

Fantastic experience: While I was taking Starlinks driving school classes, it was one of the best schooling experiences I had. No distractions in class, everyone was respectful and easy to get along with. The person that was teaching the class when I was there was Mr. Charles. One of the coolest teachers that’s there that is always willing to help you out or explain it differently if you don’t understand a question or what he is saying. But towards the end I passed the class and went to go get my provisional licenses, all thanks from his teaching, his help, and encouragement.

Fantastic experience: Starlinx Driving School is not only a driving school but it is a life changing place everyone needs to go and achieve greatness and real professional driving skills , knowledge and advanced experience in driving. It did not only teach me how to drive it taught me the real qualities of being a good driver and how to respect the traffic rules and regulations for safe driving. Positive experience: Zack Wathen is very fair and accurate. As for my experience it wasn't super smooth but they saved my records after a couple years hiatus which allowed me to avoid retaking the in-class session and proceed with the driving portion of the course. I had John as an instructor and he is highly recommended. In addition, the whole team offers a lot of encouragement, strategies and advice on how to successfully get your provisional license. I passed my drivers test on the first attempt with minimal out of class driving practice.

Fantastic experience: Good driving school

Negative experience: I signed up for 2 driving lessons 2 hours each. Both lessons ended at least 15 minutes early and the instructor during my second lesson was very inattentive. She spent the entire 2 hour lesson listening to music and playing with her phone. I found the whole experience to be rather unprofessional.

Positive experience: Attention ladies and gentlemen. This review is dedicated to those of you who are deciding on what driving school to choose. I am going to give it to you straight no chaser. But first I am going to address the reviews that have come before me. In the first review a woman complains about how Starlinx driving school made an error in her scheduling process. For this she gave the school 1 star. Seems harsh if you ask me and in life you're going to face companies that make mistakes. Nobody is perfect. I am almost certain that this review was made out of complete anger towards Starlinx and I am equally certain that this customer would not have written a review (let alone a bad one) if the scheduling error had not occurred. Nevertheless, she decided to write it and I will not let her review ruin the reputation of Starlinx because in my opinion that is unfair. The next review I would like to address was written by a customer who was very happy with Starlinx's service, calling it "The best driving school in the world" or something of that nature. That also seems farfetched. Starlinx isn't perfect. For my first Behind the Wheel Driving Lesson I had to wait an hour or so for it to begin. Mind you that the wait occurred half on my part because I wasn't aware who my driving instructor was and my instructor didn't know who his pupil was either. Even though I did have to wait a fair amount of time I was quite comfortable for the atmosphere in the waiting room was a pleasant one with comfy chairs and a television that was always on (I also got to charge my phone). But to address this review again, I would assume that this person wrote this review after passing their Driving Skills Test. Now I would like to address the last review. I would suggest you read the most recent review before this one so you are fully educated on the subject I am soon going to talk about. I actually know the person who wrote this review and I was present for some of the aftermath and I spoke with both Idris Romodan (the writer of the review) and Charles Kodozo (The owner of Starlinx) after the incident. With what I was able to piece together from each side of the story, Idris was placed in a spanish speaking class and was very unhappy. Most people would politely ask to be removed from the class and I believe Starlinx would apologize for the error. Although Idris claims he acted politely I can assume he did not considering he has a very short temper. (I myself have been assaulted by Idris on multiple occasions for minor offenses). When I asked Charles (who is very approachable and a very kind person) about the incident he said that Idris "mocked his accent in front of the entire class" and "corrected his grammar during a heated discussion.) It was clear to me that Idris did not show any sign of respect towards the Starlinx company and Starlinx retaliated. Idris was promptly discharged from any Behind the Wheel Sessions. After this Idris decided to write his angry review. In all, Starlinx made a simple mistake, Idris was very disrespectful towards the company when this happened, Starlinx did not stand for it, Idris wrote the grotesque review. There is no need to "take your business elsewhere" if you live within 5 miles of Starlinx Driving School. The school is fine. It's a driving school what do you expect? You're only there for 3 weeks plus your Behind the Wheel Sessions. Behind all the bureaucracy and red tape that plagues every driving education institution, Starlinx has a warm heart that accepts anyone accepting of them. The school is satisfactory bordering fine. I had a great time with a few hitches here and there but overall I'm glad I chose Starlinx. I passed my test with 100% accuracy the first time and I credit that to Starlinx. Don't let the few angry reviews ruin Starlinx reputation because it is a fine school. You'll be happy if you go there. P.S. During my Behind the Wheel Lessons, the instructors bought me Wendys, Pizza Hut, and Chipotle.
