Positive experience: Jan Davis is a great instructor for A1 Driving school. Good curriculum, easy to follow and interactive. Definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to reduce points, or insurance rates.

Negative experience: No son profesionales, si quieres que tu hijo quede mal preparado poniendo en riesgo su seguridad en carretera esta seria la escuela ideal, lleve a mi hijo para que aprendiera a conducir y al contrario recibió en lugar de un instructor cálido y comprensivo una persona que le gritaba y le generaba inseguridad a tal punto que no desea conducir, eso es solo uno de los tantos aspectos negativos de esta escuela, No arriesgues la seguridad y autoestima de rus hijos en este lugar. They are not professionals. If you want your child to be poorly prepared, putting their safety on the road at risk, this would be the ideal school. I took my son to learn to drive and instead of a warm and understanding instructor, he received a person who yelled at him and made him so insecure that he no longer wants to drive. This is just one of the many negative aspects of this school. Do not risk your children's safety and self-esteem in this place.

Negative experience: It seems to be impossible to get scheduled for the driving exam with them. You cannot schedule it online, you have to call. The office staff are rude, disinterested, and never call back. It's starting to feel like a scam as I paid up front.

Positive experience: Kono Smith is the best teacher out there. He is attentive and is amazing at teaching. Their office staff however is very rude, unhelpful, and snappy. After three weeks of being passed around on the phone and not being able to contact the scheduler, our phone call was short and she was very irritated. I hope changes are made.

Negative experience: My daughter had her drive this past week with Stacy who let me know she would be late which was fine, but then that meant we had less than a 2 hour drive. Super disappointed. I paid a lot of money for 2 hours and my daughter did not get 2 hours of instruction. I have Life360 time stamps. The drive started at 10:47 (supposed to start at 10:30) and they were back to my driveway at 12:28. When I asked Stacy about it, she apologized (sort of) but said she had to get to the next drive. Just not ok to cut something I paid for short due to her error of being late.

Fantastic experience: I was required to do a 20 hour risk reduction course and signed up at A-1 for a virtual session. I was not looking forward to it but it turned out to actually be a good experience. The instructor Joel P. was incredible, very kind, and knowledgeable and really made the time pass by fast & explained everything very clearly. Would absolutely recommend A-1!

Fantastic experience: It was recommended that I take this class. When I started, I thought it was going to be hard to get through and I thought I was going to be bored sitting there for 6 hours. But, Mr. Averhart managed to make the class fun and kept everyone engaged throughout the entire thing! He made the class fun and enjoyable while still learning!! Positive experience: The instructor was nice enough but spoke *very* slowly, over explaining very simple topics. Entire first day was plucked straight from a middle school health textbook, I’m sure. There were plenty of breaks and some of the information was enlightening towards the end. I guess if it’s required to be so many hours, the slowly presented information was done so intentionally- a punishment in its own way. Otherwise, the information and efficiency of how it was delivered could use some growth and attention. If it’s a state endorsed/ accepted program and +20 people are in each class at +$300 each, the quality and information from the “class” was not nearly what I expected. The instructor held everyone in the virtual class at the end until the whole test could be translated into Spanish by a Spanish speaking class member for a different class member who admittedly spoke very minimal English. This person sat through 20 hours of the class only delivered in English. Not his fault but certainly shows that there isn’t much in the way of virtue. I ended up hanging up (leaving virtual class) at 10:30 (the scheduled time) anyways and received my certificate.

Fantastic experience: I attended a virtual driving class through A-1 Driving School and thought it was set it very well. There were no technical issues and the instructor was very knowledgeable and kind about the process. I would recommend A-1 driving to others.

Fantastic experience: Grateful for the expediency of this process with A-1. I was able to locate an online defensive driving class on a Monday, complete the course over a Wednesday and Thursday evening, then received my certificate of completion by Friday afternoon. Would definitely consider using this process again if needed in the future.

Fantastic experience: Janet Davis was my instructor had to take defensive drivers course.she was straight forward set the rules b4 class so as long as u followed it was fine.i did learn about things I never knew far as driving. There are also other reasons to take the course such as lower rates on insurance.

Fantastic experience: John Spruce was my instructor and he was very familiar and made the class manageable. We took several breaks. He gave us a lot of insight on himself. The class was virtual, which allowed us to relax so if I had to do it again, I would definitely choose this class with the same instructor.

Fantastic experience: This instructor at Dui and Defensive Driving of Midtown was very helpful for I am a big old dummy. I put him through it, phone days before class, phone and text during class.ever on how to get to where I could write a comment about my little 6 hour experience that started at 8:45am and ended at 4:00pm. As you should be able to tell and he found out. I'm not phone savy at all... Good luck to those who would dare to use any other virtual class on the phone with no computer!!! Not only was the course instructor super knowledgeable about everything he spoke on, but you leave knowing valuable information that you probably wouldn’t have known before the course. These people are the real deal I highly recommend the Buford location when deciding on taking the defensive driving course

Negative experience: I'm not sure how this company has 4 stars. I ordered a package for my child which was for Driver's Education and a Defensive Driver's course. However, after paying, I realized they make you wait to receive an email before choosing a date, so I was unable to see how far out they were booked. I also was unable to add the Driver's road test to my order at the she time before choosing a date. I chose not to schedule a date because I decided to make a change to what I ordered. After multiple attempts of calling during business hours, the phone just rings and rings; a couple of times I got their voicemail, so I was able to leave a very detailed message. And this was AFTER I sent them a message through their website with my initial request to just make a change to the order abs that I was not looking for a refund. It started they reasons withing 24 hours. Well they don't. At all. They don't answer their phone. At all. They have my $355 that I paid and now I can't get in contact with anyone, even corporate. They only give you 24 hours to cancel the class(s) (and I tried contacting them within this time frame) without penalty and 48 hours with a $30 penalty. Well, I didn't schedule a date, so this shouldn't apply to me. So I now have to go through my financial institution to request a refund from this company since I couldn't even do dieing as simple as makng a change. Now I have to pay another company before I even get a refund from this one due to timing and scheduling conflicts. I DO NOT recommend this business. I'd give it zero stars if I could. Ridiculous.

Negative experience: I did a risk reduction course here and they did not tell me it would be online. The app or website they use is spotty and they will throw you out of the class saying that's unacceptable. Honestly if you need to do a class do yourself a favor and give your money to a place that is more professional and at least knows what they are doing

The only thing I had a problem with is the instructor called me Lillian a few times instead of Jillian, then when I received my certificate it said Julian instead of Jillian even though it was emailed to me and my email has my name in it. They fixed it as soon as I emailed them about it so no big deal!

I actually feel like it was a good thing that I had to take the class and I feel like that’s because of the experience from beginning to end. D’Andre Berry is probably the best teacher that I have ever had! I don’t know if you can request his class but I would recommend it!

Negative experience: Here we are 1 month after my daughter took her final driver education driving session and we have no proof that she ever attended the class. They did not email or send us any paperwork. When we call the school they have no record of our daughter. They cannot search by name, and after 20 minutes of being talked down to by the unprofessional person on the phone we gave up and called back to try someone else. Diane no mater how many times and no mater how slow and snotty you say "contract number" it still doesn't help when we do not have it. My advice to anyone looking for good customer service while receiving their state mandated training would be to go somewhere else.

Fantastic experience: If you have to go to driving school, Dr. Franklin Averhart in Buford is fantastic. I did the 2 day virtual class and he made the class interesting and called on everyone regularly to ensure engagement and he made it fun. He told us personal stories so that we could relate and even though this wasn't a DUI class made a point to let us know how terrible receiving a DUI could be for your life and for others.

Negative experience: Couldn't even call and ask some questions. I just moved to this area and I'm not sure how some things work with taking driving classes here. The rude woman on the phone just laughed at me and when I asked some questions about the DMV she just hung up the phone on me as I was still talking. After all of that, I definitely don't want to bother taking classes here if they can't even answer my questions without being rude.

Positive experience: Sharon was great in Buford. I feel like the third day isn't very constructive though. It's late and people don't focus as well as the first two days. I would like to see it pushed in to 2 days versus 3. I think it's doable. :)

Positive experience: i took the defensive driving school to lower points for a ticket.It was a long day but a good teacher made it better.the only issue I had was my chair, though comfortable, kept leaning back which was hard on my neck. The school was pleasant, and they offered water and coffee all day,with a bathroom in the classroom, and several nearby spots for lunch, I recommend Newk's eatery right around the corner. A-1 school made a not so great day into one much better.

Fantastic experience: Debbie Morris was an amazing teacher. She had answers to every question, and kept the class interesting. If you have to take a driving class I would highly recommend going to this location. Dianne that works the admin and gets you registered is very sweet and is amazing at her job. I transferred from another school because I kept showing up for a class and no one would be there. Dianne called the evening before class and verified that you were still coming and answered any questions I had. She was under the weather when I first met her but she still went above and beyond for me. Both of these ladies enjoy their job and it shows! Thank you!

Fantastic experience: You get 10 min breaks every hour, when you take the class with Deborah A Morris. She was awesome and made the class fun. Even though I had to be in the class for the entire weekend and part of Monday Night, it was a good experience as well as knowledgeable. I actually learned a lot and Mrs. Debbie made it enjoyable.

Positive experience: My class and the instructor, Scott Morris, was great. The receptionist, where you sign in at, had a little attitude though. I took the Tues- Wed classes because I was afraid I was going to fall asleep but I didn't. Scott really made the class interesting. He was interactive and answered all questions. Scott was also good with managing his time!

Mize was not only very informative but seemed to keep everyone awake AND paying attention. She was funny and realistic. I went in this class dreading every second and walked out each night with more knowledge

But 1/2 way through the 1st class i found that the information i was being given was very helpful and changed my outlook on road safety. I catch my self paying attention or recognizing things that i never did before while driving. This class is worth taking!

Fantastic experience: Defensive Driving Class (DDC) is a positive terminology, for it is the only class provides you the significant information you all need to know after having obtained your driver license. Most drivers take the privilege of driving for granted. It does not matter how long have you ridden a bike or a motorcycle, or driven a car, (DDC) prepares you driving behind the wheel more confidently and responsibly. I think our instructor at A-1 Driving School on Buford Drive did a fantastic job. The class is engaging and so fun to participate. Fantastic experience: I went to A1 Driving School in Buford to sign up for a two day defensive driving class my lawyer suggested I take. I didn’t really know how to go about signing up or if there was anything in particular that I may need for the class, so Elly the office manager there was very helpful and signed me up right there for the next two day defensive driving course. Over the course of the two days, she, answered every question I had regarding my certificate and who I needed to give it to after class completion. I would definitely recommend A1 Driving School in Buford for anyone with driving needs.

Positive experience: I'm glad to have been referred to A-1 Driving school. I had a great learning experience. The class was very engaging and the instructor is very knowledgeable. I would recommend this class to anyone. Even just to brush up on your driving skills, this is a great school to go to. The only reason I am giving it 4 starts is because the front desk lady is NOT friendly at all. I understand that this is not a place where they need a Customer Service Award, but some kindness and a smile would make any type of day a better one. Other then this, this is a GREAT place to take some defensive driving classes.

Negative experience: I just called the Buford location to ask how the driving classes are set up. The girl who answered sounded irritated and snappy. When I said ‘thanks’ (even though she didn’t answer much) she just rushed me off and hung up fast. I hope she isn’t one of the instructors! I’d hate to be in the car with her.
