Fantastic experience: So happy I chose 160. Lead instructor Chad, as well as the rest of the staff are just good, fun guys to be around. We had a great group of guys here, and I’m sure I made some friendships that’ll last forever. They’re also very good at explaining everything in a manner that is easily understood. I was happy to wake up every morning at 5 am and commute an hour to get here because I genuinely had a great time being here learning how to drive these trucks. And the best part is, at the end, you walk out with a Class A CDL and an opportunity to start a career. Thank you guys so much. If I can do it, literally anyone can. So if you’re looking to change career paths or increase earning potential, I highly recommend you find your closest 160 Driving Academy and call them as soon as possible.

Fantastic experience: Overall experience went well, I learned a-lot there are some slow days but just study on your down time. Working with your fellow students will also make to time go by faster and helps speed up the learning process. Stick with the process control your nerves on test day and you’ll pass with flying colors. Lead instructor Chad Davis was always hustling with meetings and phone calls but always made time to be with the students and teach them right from wrong. Also always tried to stay positive and crack a few jokes here and there to lighten the mood, overall a good person and teacher. Passed the test first try so just follow the process and you have your cdl before you know it.

Fantastic experience: I’m still 1 class day out from completing the course- but wanted to write an honest review while all of the instructors I worked with are still there. 160 in Mineral Wells is hands down the best driving school in the area. I came in after trying to work multiple jobs and find a way to get into school again after having a not so great time with a different school. The patience that the instructors have is amazing. Sitting in the drivers seat for the first time can be terrifying to think about but not once was I nervous due to the confidence the instructor John had, as well as the support from other students in my class. Never driving a manual prior and learning to drive one with Gabe was the most humbling and honestly fun experience ever. I can legitimately say I looked forward to being in the truck and learning from him every day. He has 100% taught me the most when it came to driving as well as “real world” trucking scenarios. He is going to be a huge loss to the program. Then came test week and honestly I failed the first one. I didn’t get the opportunity to work with Chad much, there’s a ton of students and every instructor is understandably busy but going through a class with literally no income, putting in 2-3 hours a night of studying, it was a bit of a let down to fail at first to say the least. Chad was there to make it seem okay and help me understand what my mistakes were. He is knowledgeable on different teaching styles and how to best accommodate each student. You get out of the program and the instruction from each person what you are willing to put into it. I’ll continue to recommend this school to anybody looking to get into trucking. There really is a great team of instructors to help you succeed. I’ve had an A+ experience and hope to kickstart a successful career after my time there.

Fantastic experience: This place has the awesome instructors there is and Chad Davis the lead instructor is awesome at teaching us to what we need to know and very funny at cracking jokes. Tyler Rhodes the assistant lead instructor is very good to what he does to make us learn our stuff. Gabriel Sayre the instructor that cracks joke here and there, he will help you in the beginning and will sometimes tell a joke to take the nervousness away so you can feel ok. All the instructors are very helpful. Chad Davis, Tyler Rhodes, and Gabriel Sayre are all the greatest instructors that I ever have met to learn from them. This is a great place to learn and get your cdl license

Fantastic experience: I can’t say enough about 160 Driving Academy in Parkersburg, WV. Chad, Tyler and Gabe are amazing to work with, fair, knowledgeable and wonderful at instructing students. Chad is the best yard lead ever, so helpful, very caring, absolutely thorough, and fully invested in the student’s progress. Tyler & Gabe are very helpful as well. Whether you needed a laugh to get out of your head or a calming presence to get your head in the game, these two are really good at what they do. As a woman, I felt very safe in the yard and had the best time while learning. The professionalism and overall care and concern for each student and their ability to teach students (and especially me) how to embrace the instruction and get the techniques down pat is outstanding. I’m gonna miss these guys! It truly is like a lil family there. You learn, laugh, sometimes cry, and take away something that you just don’t get at most schools. This was truly a rewarding experience for me and one I’ll never ever forget! It’s because of Chad, Gabe and Tyler that I’m able to say, One & Done! I’m proud to do so! Thank you guys so much, especially Chad!!! You’re all the best!!!

The Lead Instructor Chad Davis was an above n beyond instructor who taylored his teaching techniques towards me and I went from a horrible shifter to test day being in the top ten best shifters out of 160 tested students per the examiner. The lead instructor Chad brought a unique way of helping you when you were having trouble with whatever you were doing by bringing your confidence up while fixing your mistakes. Gabe and Tyler were great at on the road training and skills by breaking it down to how to fix it and what you were doing wrong. I’ve been to many classes where the instructors don’t care about helping you and were not knowledgeable. 160 Driving Academy is the best school I have ever been to between the great instructors and way of doing things and were great guys to talk to.

Fantastic experience: 160 driving academy was a wonderful experience. The yard instructors Chad Davis, Gabe Sayre, and Tyler Rhodes were wonderful and very knowledgeable. They would answer all questions that I had with expertise. They showed me how to shift a semi properly, drive on the road, perform skills such as 90 degree parking, parallel, offset, and the pretrip. This school was wonderful and I would recommend this school to anyone.
