Fantastic experience: I would like to start by saying that Armand from Coastline Academy Driving School was an incredible driving instructor for my son, Jayden. Although my son had practiced driving with me and other relatives, he immediately praised Armand after their first session. Armand was patient, kind, and resourceful, ensuring that all the important aspects of driving were thoroughly covered. His approach made sure Jayden understood the key principles for becoming a safe and confident driver. I highly recommend Armand as a driving instructor and would choose him again and again. He has a special gift for teaching, and I’m confident that with his guidance, our children will learn to drive safely and responsibly. As a parent, it's reassuring to know that our children are in such capable hands.

Fantastic experience: I passed the driving test on my second try after a 2-hour driving lesson with Sam C. The DMV required the behind-the-wheel driving test because I am a senior driver with macular degeneration. I failed the vision test, but had 20/40 vision in one eye. I was not prepared for the first test and realized I needed to learn and practice techniques like backing up three car lengths in a straight line and being more observant of traffic around me. Sam C. did an excellent job in helping me prepare for my second test and I am very grateful and glad I signed up for the lesson.

Fantastic experience: Carmela R is super helpful, patient and friendly while being sooooo good at what she does. Will guide you in every way and make sure all her students pass the exam. I booked the three 2 hours drive lesson and the drive exam I just wished I had booked her my very first class. Carmela’s very good at looking out what I need to focus and gave me some amazing tips that would work for me best. I couldn’t think of a reason why not to give her a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ if there’s more it would be a million stars lol. I just want to say thank you so much Carmela.

Negative experience: Do not choose this school for your teen. My daughter had 3 different instructors and learned pretty much nothing from them. No freeway. No driving. Mainly parking. Go to a better school.

Fantastic experience: Highly recommend coastline. My family and friends all took their lesson here so I went with this place when I wanted to a responsible driver to refresh my driving skill after being an idle driver for the past 10 plus years. I like the report and the teacher’s recap after the lesson. My instructor was Mike R. who was super professional, skillful of teaching so I got right back on track and gained my confidence back on the road.

I would highly recommend her for any new driver or even if you want to take a driving course to refresh your memory for driving in California

Fantastic experience: Excellent customer service and staff! Easy way to navigate their website and whats convient is the referral options. I had Shayne as my instructor hes very patient, funny, and makes my driving experience less scary than how I thought it would actually be. He really works great with me by providing feedback and giving me visuals during our lessons since that helps me out alot compared to just having him talk I felt like I learned better with getting a visual of either parallel parking or what to do at certain types of intersections. Whenever I complete a task in our lessons from what he has gone over he cheers me on. I would highly recommend this driving school and giving them a referral to anyone I know who might need lessons to feel more prepared.

Fantastic experience: My daughter has taken about 4 lessons so far, and it’s been a great experience. Most of her lessons are with Richard, who she loves learning to drive with. She says he’s funny, patient, relaxed and kind. He’s helped her to become a more confident driver. Richard is also very professional and friendly and he’s always on time. It’s also very easy to schedule with Coastline and they respond very quickly. We are having a great experience so far!!

Fantastic experience: I have never had any driving experience in the past 30 years in my life. I once had an accident with a car and have always had a fear of being in traffic. I couldn't even believe that I passed the driver's license exam the first time after only 3 sessions (6 hours) of practice with Mr. Brent L. Besides instructing me on driving techniques and handling situations in traffic, Mr. Brent also helps me build confidence and control the car. I believe I had a great service experience with Mr. Brent and he will help Coastline get more and more positive customer feedback. Quan.

Fantastic experience: My driving instructor was Lisa, and she was absolutely amazing. She was calm, collected, sweet, motherly and helped me with several sessions before going to the DMV for the driving test. I now have had my car for about a year. I am so thankful for her being the best driving instructor I could have ever hoped for. I wasn't anxious, I felt safe and not stressed. She instructed me and showed me demonstrations of different turning situations with protected turns and unprotected turns and how to properly go forward enough while making a turn so that one doesn't end up going over the divider in the street. Thank you so much Lisa, you changed my world by allowing me to comfortably be myself while learning. You taught me so much AND I HIGHLY RECOMMEND using this DMV approved school.

Fantastic experience: The instructors do a great job and our kiddo was able to pass their behind the wheel test on the first go! Which is awesome! All the instructors did excellent, but we absolutely loved us some Hal! He did a great job with our kiddo who can have a difficult personality at times. He was incredibly patient and really got on well with them. Our kiddo really enjoyed working with him and I have no doubts that using him for their exam prep was a big part of why they passed the test with ease! Overall great services and like I said we LOVE Hal!

Fantastic experience: I had a fantastic experience with my driving instructors at Coastline Academy. Being a first-time driver was daunting, though driving with Junelle P. and Hal I. eased my nerves and helped me become a confident driver during our two-hour lessons and when driving with my parents. While three two-hour lessons do not seem like much, the amount of concepts covered in each lesson are manageable and really help to get you comfortable behind the wheel quickly. The feedback and information provided to me by my two driving instructors helped me pass my behind-the-wheel drive test on my first attempt, and for that, I am very thankful. I highly recommend Coastline Academy to new drivers, and I highly recommend Junelle P. and Hal I. as driving instructors.

Fantastic experience: Signed up with Coastline Academy for the mandatory 6 hours driving lesson for my teen son. The instructors were very professional and friendly. They took the time to explain the aspects my son needed help on. The classes were spread out to ensure he has time to practice in between the sessions and detailed feedback provided after each session. The final session prepped him up for the DMV driving test and he cleared the test very confidently. Highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: Great way to book driving lessons! I drove for the first time for my first lesson and had a great instructor that was helpful but not overbearing and in general the experience for my three lessons was great. I quickly gained confidence and skill in driving that allowed for a smooth transition to driving with my parents to prepare for my license test.

Fantastic experience: Very good experience using coastline for my child. The instructors came on time and were very capable. Olga was my child’s favorite instructor. The website is also very easy to use to schedule appointments. Only drawback is that during school days, it’s very hard to get a weekend or after school appointment. But overall a very good driving school. Have already recommended them to others.

Fantastic experience: Very good driver's school. I struggled passing my first two behind-the-wheel test because of nerves but I kept taking more lessons so that I could have more hours behind-the-wheel. My instructor, Angie, was very thorough in helping me identify what I had to improve after every lesson. While it definitely helps to have as many hours driving behind the wheel with a friend or family member, your driving instructor will have more detailed knowledge of what you need to do (and not do) to pass the behind-the-wheel test.

Fantastic experience: Two of my teenage drivers took the behind-the-wheel driving course at Coastline. Both passed the test their first time and truly enjoyed their instructors. I believe between the 2 of them they had 2 or 3 different instructors and each was very knowledgeable and they were key to them passing the test! Thank you.

Fantastic experience: Our son enjoyed the driving lessons and found them very helpful. There was an issue with one Coastline rep saying we forfeited a lesson due to time, even though it was during Covid and could not use lessons for period of time. Charles the Director reached out directly, fixed that issue, and we greatly appreciate the effort and service provided. I also have a business, and all businesses make mistakes, but the great ones take steps to fix them which Coastline did.

Fantastic experience: Excellent Driving School. We live in Marin and I only know of kids passing their tests with this school. The teachers are exceptional; Dennis V (superb, thorough, and a really lovely guy) and Jeffery A. (excellent). My daughter Zoe felt skilled, knowledgable and confident after each lesson. She passed her driving test with ease, missing only1 point on the test. That's a brilliant result!

Negative experience: Person in a black BMW 528i series from ~ 2015 almost caused an accident due swerving in my lane . Noticed that had a coastline academy “student driver sticker “. Ridiculous

Fantastic experience: I chose Coastline Academy so I could get my lessons in for my license and I have zero regrets! The schedule was very flexible and the instructors were super nice and experienced. Ed and Eric were my instructors and they were very helpful in teaching me how to drive and fix any errors I made! I was able to complete three lessons in the span of about 2 weeks and I passed my behind-the-wheel test first try! I highly recommend Coastline Academy because its one of the most affordable and reliable driving lessons I was able to find!

Fantastic experience: Coastline was recommended to me by my insurance agent and it was a great decision. My very shy 16 year old was taken through every step of the process from the online class to her first time getting into the driver's seat of the car. I love the option of scheduling classes with different instructors, both male and female since different genders tend to have different driving styles and levels of confidence, so she got a great variety of techniques. We look forward to her taking her driving test in a few weeks and we are sure she will pass with flying colors. Thank you Coastline!

Fantastic experience: Sounds kinda corny, but I wish everyone had a Patrice coaching and teaching them driving. It's been wonderful to witness my daughter go from a scared, shaky driver to a confident safe driver. Our daughter passed her exam and the parallel parking was a breeze because of all the training she did. As her parents, we could NOT have done it without Coastline and Patrice! Seriously, it was terrifying at first and I think Patrice gave us confidence too! Patrice, thank you!!!! Coastline, that you for being better than what I thought you'd be. If I could give you 10 stars, I would! Coastline staff, thanks for answering all of my questions with patience and understand long before we signed up. It made a difference! Fantastic experience: Raymon was totally spectacular in ever way. As a person with pretty severe anxiety, his calming energy and clear teaching style made that disappear in an instant. Half instructor half therapist, he’s really that good. He deserves the best things in life and I hope he gets everything he wants. Get this guy to teach you. You won’t be disappointed.

Fantastic experience: First lesson went great! My son is Deaf and uses ASL. Coastline went out of their way to match us with the right instructor who has experience working with Deaf students. Another school turned me away, but Coastline has great service and great teachers and helped me feel confident my son would have a good lesson, which he did. Looking forward to the next two lessons!

Negative experience: This is my first time in a drivers seat, I repeat, FIRST TIME and I told him. He didn't even teach me how to fix the mirrors and all he made me do right turn for 2 hours. For 2 hours all I heard is "your turning too fast," or "Too slow", how was I suppose to know how fast or too slow if it's my first time? Have me understand how it feels to be behind the wheels, have me understand how to control the wheel, have me understand how to control the breaks and acceleration. If you don't know how to teach a complete beginner reschedule and assign a different teacher who knows how to. Thanks for wasting our time, teaching nothing, WHILE YOU GET PAYED!

Negative experience: I paid for 3 lessons weeks prior, they cancelled them 1 hour before 2 of those lessons with no explanation. Now I have no time to schedule new lessons before my test. Horrible service.

I was assigned Stephanie, and she was the most understanding and thorough driving instructor I’ve ever had! She explained the rules of the road to me in a down-to-earth manner, and she was very patient. I gained enough confidence to drive on the freeway! Would recommend Stephanie and Coastline to anyone who needs that confidence boost.

Fantastic experience: The instructors did a great job in helping me on my driving. They gave me great praise when I did something right and gives me feedback when needed. It helps to give them a list of things the student needs help on before driving. I did that because I really need help in curbside parking and changing lanes, and I want to focus on those two. The instructors help me after I gave them a list and with their help I drove better.
