Fantastic experience: We cannot say enough good things about Bluegrass Driving School, and recommend it for all young drivers. As a busy parent, I appreciated their overall responsiveness to my questions all throughout the process. In many cases, businesses are not super responsive to email inquiries, but Ernie was always very fast to reply to my emails, and any phone calls were likewise answered promptly. Understandably, after-school and weekend appointments are in higher demand, so we opted for school-day appointments because we wanted to get my daughter into lessons soon after she received her permit. (They were able to give us a note to take back to the school, which was always sufficient to excuse the absence.) We booked all 6 of her appointments during the first phone call, though we were able to reschedule as needed with advance notice. Dan handled the in-car duties, so I did not witness this aspect firsthand, but my daughter said that he was calm and helped put her at ease through her initial nervousness. Ernie was gracious enough to allow me to use a spot at a table in the instruction room so I could bring my laptop and get work done while my daughter was out for her lesson. Since my daughter completed all 6 of her lessons early during her permit phase, we will likely schedule one final lesson in a few months just prior to her road test to get a refresher on all of her technical skills (parallel parking, 3-point turn, etc), though I'm confident she could pass the road test today based on what she has learned through these lessons. Thank you to Ernie and Dan at Bluegrass Driving Academy. I hope all parents consider bringing their kids here to give them a good foundation for driving. UPDATE on 10/25/23: My daughter took her road skills test yesterday and earned her intermediate license with no points taken off. Thanks again to BDA!

Fantastic experience: I'm an adult learner working on finally getting my driver's license at 23, and I just finished a 6 week course driving Saturdays with Dan. My driver's test is scheduled for the end of the month, and I'm confident I'll pass the first time! I had a great experience. I went from being an extremely nervous new driver who had never driven outside a parking lot to feeling comfortable parallel parking, driving in rush hour traffic downtown, and changing lanes on the highway in less than two months. I genuinely didn't think I would ever get here, it's incredible! 100% worth the money and more, I HIGHLY recommend to any new driver.

Fantastic experience: So I came here awhile back ago because I need help with my permit. The two guys that work here our outstanding and friendly they gave me enough confidence to take my test. They do a wonderful job with working with people from all over. I passed permit and I came back to get lessons to take my driver test I did four or five visited with them and I passed my test on Tuesday thanks to Bluegrass Driving academy I have my drivers licenses. If you need help with your permit or licenses their the one to call! I 100% recommend them!

Fantastic experience: I have a couple of severe anxiety disorders, and even thinking about driving was enough to get me really shaken up, so I never really imagined that I would ever get comfortable enough to drive, thankfully the instructor was really good at helping me stay calm, and gave a lot of advice that really helped with some of the parts I got the most anxious about. Although I can't really say I'm fully comfortable driving I am now a lot further than I ever thought I would get, being able to drive in most situations so I could easily recommend them.

Fantastic experience: I had 6 lessons with Dan and Ernie where they taught me how to parallel park, do a turn-a-bout, and more. (with both a camera AND mirrors) Before this I wasn’t as confident in my driving ability and was not ready for my intermediate. After my lessons I felt so much more prepared for my intermediate road test. There were many things I learned from them that my parents were unable to teach me. They’re both amazing individuals and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

Fantastic experience: Our son had failed the road test four times. (He had never had lessons but had driven a lot). At that point he was ready to give up and never drive again. Then we called Bluegrass Driving Academy and spoke to Ernie. He was so reassuring and told us how successful their students are in getting their road test done. Our son passed his road test the first time after completing their course. Both Ernie and Dan understand exactly what is required and are able to work with students who have great anxiety getting this done. In fact, I’ve been driving over forty years and I learned a lot just listening to them. We are so grateful for their professionalism and their help.
