Positive experience: I just passed my driving test, big credit goes to Vanessa and Rob for teaching me best practices and safe driving. The only reason I am not giving a full five stars is because their cars are relatively old and sometimes aren’t the best to drive.

Fantastic experience: I could not recommend Robert enough! I’d failed my road test twice prior to meeting him. I was in a pinch finding and booking a lesson and car for my road test and he moved things around and accommodated me just two days before said test without even knowing me. I learned things during this lesson that prior instructors did not properly convey such as the easiest method to parallel park. Proud to say that I passed all thanks to Robert and his thorough style of teaching!

Negative experience: EDIT for update: we went with south shore driving school At lenevar from 10314 pick up scheduled for 3:30 PM on a FRIDAY. Spanish speaker. She passed. No issues.. don’t EVER let this guy bully you and lecture how DMV doesn’t “cater” to you. He thinks he knows everything & created a big fuss per below. We gladly had better experience elsewhere! Terrible. Terrible. Owner. Very unprofessional. Tried to talk to him multiple times to make accommodations and he was talking to me like a child. Very rigid thinker and condescending. Nobody should talk like that to anyone let alone customers! Save yourself this headache. Also. Not to mention our nanny only speaks Spanish limited English and he’s giving me a lecture about how she has to learn English to pass a road test. Give me a break. We’re in a city of immigrants. Plenty of people pass with limited speaking. Please see below to his absolute disgusting response. What “ I did “ like I misbehaved. I’m not some child. Who gets off talking like this ? Posting where I live. SO UNPROFESSIONAL I went elsewhere and will gladly pay my money three times over for better service. Miserable human you are !!!!!

Fantastic experience: I had Rob as an instructor. I passed my road test with just 8 lessons. I became a competent driver in less than a month. I recommend this school to everyone I know!

Negative experience: The instructor Rob, whom I payed $50 to learn, kept talking about how this is not like in my “country” and yelling at me instead of really teaching something. The car was filthy, and old . They don’t even have an office , I felt like it was all a scam.

Fantastic experience: Can’t thank rob enough. Took my driving test with him in February after taking lessons in Brooklyn. All it took was one lesson with him and I passed my test the same day with only five points off. He was able to point out everything I was doing that was unnecessary, as well as the things I was doing wrong. He also pointed out the bad habits I had been taught by my previous school in Brooklyn. Picked up and dropped off at the SI ferry as well. Great instructor, if you’re debating which school to learn driving skills, take lessons with Rob at delight driving.

Fantastic experience: I come from Manhattan to Staten Island because instructor Rob actually cares about teaching you how to drive the right way . My cousin told me about him and that is why I travel from Harlem. He is patient and will let you know how you are doing in that moment. I went to another driving school where I did 5 lessons and then they automatically send me for the road test and I was not ready for it. Rob will inform you what you need to work on and he knows how to teach.

Fantastic experience: I went to driver rite but I thought they were teaching me but they were just teaching me wrongly but then I got to delight driving I learn alot of new things that if I would’ve not learn I would’ve probably be in a bad accident. Rob is my Instructor' he’s very up forward

They were very professional, I think the 5 hour lesson’s teacher was extremely professional… Everything went alright, they are cheap and you got what you want. Who needs more?. Thank you

Fantastic experience: Prior to this, I was receiving instruction at Island Driving School, one of the worse schools ever.. I purchased a package that included all of my lessons, which were all spread out so that one class would be on a specific day of the week and the next lesson would be three weeks later. This didn't make sense because I would forget everything we did. however I stumbled upon Delight Driving School. On my first day, I took lessons with Rob, who informed me that I required a lot more lessons. Later, I selected Kamila as my driving teacher, and she patiently worked with me to teach me everything. I finally passed my driving test two weeks ago, and I'm so happy thank you delight driving school for working with me so patiently and for making me pass my road test. ❤️ much love

Fantastic experience: I was so nervous to have a driver teacher but Kamila was amazing ! She got me out of my little habits & helped me break out of having anxiety as well. She was incredible would definitely recommend her for driver teacher ! I did my 5 hour class with Robert & he was amazing as well ! I was not looking forward to this class but he made it a memorable experience & he taught me a lot of stuff I didn’t know before taking the class. Overall 10/10 the school is amazing & very hands on with the students ! I would definitely recommend to everyone especially Kamila & Robert !

Fantastic experience: Awesome, awesome, awesome amazing driving school. Getting my daughter on the road had to be one of the most stressful experiences I encountered in life. There was no drivers Ed offered in her high school. It was stressful financially as well as mentally. Delight driving worked with us through the toughest times. My daughter made it today. She passed her road test. I am truly thankful to delight driving for making it possible. I would recommend them to anyone struggling with other places that may not have your child’s best interest at heart. Thank you delight driving. I have to say this also, I had a very bad experience with island driving (north shore). Please be careful with this school. Delight driving literally picked up the pieces from what they did to us. They will take your money, never provide you with a lesson that fits your schedule and then they will blame you for it. Good luck out there. All driving schools are not created equal.

Fantastic experience: Delight Driving goes highly recommended. I'm breaking down my review in separate components. Booking: The website was easy and quick to book lessons. You can see availability for a few weeks in advance; I suggest to book about 1-2 weeks in advance to get your preferred date/time/instructor, but there is always availability regardless. Instructor: I took a total of 10 sessions with Kamila and she is an excellent educator and I highly highly recommend her. She is professional, respectful, kind and patient when teaching you how to drive, which is the type of person you want being your instructor, especially when you're starting something as anxiety provoking as driving for the first time. Kamila never yells or raises her voice; instead, she uses all mistakes as an opportunity to re-teach, remind, and give you opportunities to practice even more. There are so many skills Kamila taught me that I undoubtedly will use for the rest of my life. She's also very honest about where your strengths and weaknesses are. Kamila didn't just prepare me to pass the road test, she prepared me to be a driver. Pricing: $50 for a 60 minute lesson where you are picked up and dropped off from your address is, in my opinion, an excellent price. I think this is the route to go instead of a driving school where there are weekly classes and you have to share your instruction time in the vehicle with other students. I also think this pricing is either standard, or maybe even more affordable, as I found $60 for 60 minutes at another SI location. Number of Lessons/Packages: You're allowed to take as little or as many lessons because you can pay for lessons individually or purchase packages for a small discount (about $10 or $20 discount). I recommend taking more than 5 lessons. It feels so much safer learning with someone who has a brake and it's better working with an instructor who is also aware of what is needed for the road test. Road Test: I passed on my first try. However, I do not recommend paying for the Road Test package they have. It's $90 just for the instructor to pick you up/drop you off and to use their car. That's nearly double the price of their regular 60 minute lesson, despite road tests being a total of literally 5 minutes (or less!). Skip this if you have a car you can borrow and can make it there yourself. They did not schedule my road test for me, I did it myself on the DMV website (which I preferred and was easier this way). Five Hour Class: I didn't hate the five hour class despite it usually being something people dread. It went by quite quickly, we got a few breaks, and it was an opportunity to learn in a different way. I enjoyed the videos. Classes are only available Saturdays with Rob. If you take this class, you MUST be on time with your camera on the entire time. You have to be fully present and engaged; you absolutely will be called out if you have wandering eyes or if it's clear you're not paying attention. You will get cold called too. Rob takes this class very seriously; he will remove you from the class and/or not award you your certificate. The one thing that I was uncomfortable with was that there was a student who had her face in view but you could not see the top half of her body and he said "I want to see your beautiful face and beautiful body on the screen." I think there was a way more appropriate way to say "please be fully on screen." I also didn't understand why a face wasn't enough; not everyone has amazing computer setups. The certificate comes within a week or so after the class. Overall, I'm glad I used Delight Driving and I recommend taking classes with Kamila.

Positive experience: I really want to appreciate two people in the school dat make it possible for me to lean faster nd get my drivers license, firstly Mr Raph…He is the best oh my God this is a wonderful guy that really knows how to sturdy his student nd tell the person this where you need to work on ,and he will also let you no that you can do it…his words of encouragement is excellent He is a good Instructor.And Mr Tom too his a wonderful man God bless him

She gave me really helpful tips and was more than happy to let me repeat steps as many times as I felt needed. Robert coordinated with the booking of the road test and was very accommodating (and funny!). Delight Driving was (in fact) a delight to work with!

Fantastic experience: I’m so happy I chose Delight Driving for driving lessons. I’ve tried learning to drive from my husband for many years and it’s never worked. I chose Tom as my instructor because of his wonderful reviews. Tom is the perfect instructor! He’s extremely patient and understanding. His directions are easy to follow and Tom tailors the lesson to the level you’re at. I was so anxious about driving but Tom’s calm nature has put me at ease. The website is also user friendly and Rob the owner is friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend Delight Driving to everyone, it has been the best experience, and I know I’ll be ready for my road test.

Negative experience: Liars, This driving school is an ordinary fraud. A person out there, ready only to write offensive SMS. They are not ready to issue the 5 hour certificate even after more than three weeks. They are able to insult your intelligence and others with conspiracy facts that the postal service is not working properly, etc. They distort the address in the end, because the mail can't come and many other slanderous problems. In the end, I decided to go elsewhere for this certificate. One of the most annoying experiences in life so far.

Negative experience: This the worst driving school i have ever seen. He lies about the certificate then starts to boss around after not delivering the certificate after 3 weeks. Even when i told him when the certificate is ready i eill come and get it he still didnt care. Hope people wont fall for this scam. He doesnt care about you just wants the money and doesnt do the job be careful from this fraud!

The owner Rob is also wonderful and incredibly helpful. They are patient and work WITH you. I had no issues whatsoever, I felt comfortable, it was AFFORDABLE, and overall, my experience was truly a Delightful one.

Negative experience: I have never been a client of this company nor do I ever plan to be. However, yesterday a friend of mine failed her driving test and this was due to her driving a car this company brought to her home, that was not the car she practiced in. She was not comfortable with this vehicle and as a result she was very unsure of how to gauge and properly navigate the car. She also stated that his attitude was very accusatory with her which made her even more nervous. I asked her to read the reviews and we both noticed instead of responding kindly to the clients that were not satisfied, the owner chose to blame them for lacking skills. It is obvious that they lack skills, that is why they pay for the service of learning to drive. If you do not properly prepare them for the road test, they obviously will not have the skills to pass. It is sad that he doesn’t provide a way to remedy the problem. Instead, he just blames the clients who are spending their money. Please take heed. Now my friend has to find a new driving school and spend more money to learn to drive for her driving test.

Fantastic experience: Delight Driving is inexpensive, easy going and fast! Tom was my instructor and he really helped me shape up my skills and taught me many new ones. He is very calm, kind and was always on time for my lessons. I'm glad that I got him as my instructor. I started my driving classes the second week in March and a month later, after five lessons I passed my driver's test. Thank you Delight Driving!

Fantastic experience: I have an excellent experience of Delight Driving School. Tom is the best instructor, very sober. He quickly judges the nature and skills of his students and deals accordingly, however adheres to the norms of teaching and ultimate goal of success of the incumbant. Rob is sweet hearted but strict in theory. They are NOT money minded, wont try to squeez you. I am 73 years and looking at my India experience of driving, Rob advised me only 5 lessons after which I passed the test in first attempt, despite the US driving on right side contrary to Indian on left side. I would recommand this school to anybody desireous of obtaining a license.

Fantastic experience: These guys are good at what they do. I was out of options before I called them 30 mins before my road test at 9am and they returned my call before the school was open and sent a car for me to take the road test that picked me up at my house and got me there with time to spare. Tom is amazing. He really sat with me and prepared me right until it was my turn. I know I did well because of this. Really happy with the way everything went.

Fantastic experience: Where should I start ? I called Rob out of desperation. I took a lot of driving lessons in France (pardon my French mistakes here) and tried to take my road test a first time here and failed it. I was such a bad driver. I then called Rob. Rob was not only the best driver teacher I ever had but also the best coach I had in my life. He is such a kind human being, genuinely good and will take the best care of you. He’s tuff but trust me it’s worth it, he managed to make me pass my driver test even though at the time I thought it was impossible. I had the best time with him, the best driving lessons and I will be forever grateful for that. Thank you Rob. Fantastic experience: I was lucky to have found Delight Driving School!! It saved me from more money and time wasted on classes from driving schools that weren’t teaching me appropriately. I had experienced 4 different instructors at 2 different driving schools; each time I was hoping I would finally learn what I needed and feel confident for the road test. In these previous driving schools, I had to take the initiative to keep requesting my instructors to teach me the checklist of items on the road test evaluation. I had to also keep asking my instructors to please repeat with me what I had learned. I was disappointed that I was paying instructors and I had to direct them to do what I believe good instructors should be doing on their own. More discouraging was that I later learned that the techniques I was taught were not sufficient to pass the road test! I realized there were a lot of things I was doing wrong. It was very upsetting to have spent my time and resources for these previous classes and not learning what I needed. I knew I needed to find a different driving school and be more selective this time. When I spoke with Rob, the owner of Delight Driving School over the phone to inquire about his school, for the first time I wasn’t hearing someone who was trying to sell me on classes. He was offering me free driving advice and explained the scientific reasons behind why, so that I could understand! He also asked me questions which I should have known the answers to if I was taught properly before. I could tell Rob took teaching people how to drive very seriously and was doing his job as an instructor and owner. I knew I had found the right school. With my road test coming up soon I had no time to lose and a lot of learning and undoing of bad ways that I was taught. I decided to spend the additional money and time to take his classes. Even though I lived in the Rockaways, NY, I decided to pay for a hotel stay in Staten Island to take a “boot camp” training with Rob. In just 3 classes in 2 days, Rob helped clean up a lot of my wrong and bad habits! Rob was also the best person to do it with. He was not only an excellent instructor but he went up and beyond. He taught me his techniques that he tried and tested and explained them to me. Rob understood that repetition was the key to learning. He stressed in himself, his instructors and students to repeat, repeat and repeat! During my training with Rob he would direct me to keep repeating till I got it right and even if I did, he would instruct me to do it again, and again later on. I have not met an instructor who had that patience and attentiveness. Rob took teaching people how to drive seriously, as he should!! Driving inadequately puts ours and others’ lives at risk. Rob therefore was strict and focused during his training but it was for good reasons. Rob expressed his desire of high standards also of his driving instructors. He recognized the inadequacy with the driving school industry and was passionate about truly teaching people how to drive and to drive safely. After just a few training sessions with Rob, I passed the road test!! I honestly don’t think I could have done it without Rob and Delight Driving school!

Negative experience: The instructor was very unfriendly and made me feel very nervous. He kept on going about my ego getting in the way of my ability to learn, which is belittling feedback and not constructive. I have not been talked like that to as an adult in a long time. If you value friendliness, good manners and being put at ease, the instructor I had (the business owner) is not for you. It seems like a common theme in the reviews. The owner has a lot of anger and I hope he gets some help. I was a nervous wreck and I failed the test, pretty badly. If the owner’s intention was to put me off driving, he succeeded!

Fantastic experience: Amazing experience! My lessons with Robert were insightful and really taught me how to be a gold driver. The ease of scheduling and the availability they had for lessons was incredible. Most other schools had little to no availability. The instructors here really care about making you a good and safe driver. Would recommend!!

Fantastic experience: Okay so 2 things: 1. I called ALL driving schools in Staten Island and EVERY SINGLE ONE of them said NO because it was a short notice. Then, I stumbled upon Robert and he took the extra mile to cater everything that I need. They even picked me up and dropped me off the terminal. 2. All thanks to Yuri, I passed my test after just an hour of teaching me everything that I needed to know. Here’s your takeaway bestie: They are the best driving school in SI ‍♀️

Fantastic experience: I’m so happy I found Delight Driving when I started looking into driving schools, as they had weekend availability which was what I needed the most to work around my work schedule. I had both Rob and Kamila as my instructors and both were extremely plesant and wonderful to take lessons from! Fantastic experience: I passed my road test yesterday in 5 minutes with Delight Driving. It’s a great school, good prices, and they make it very simple and straightforward to get started with the process. They offer highway lessons which is very useful. My instructor, Yuri, taught me how to drive. He was very patient, encouraging, and nice. He helped me become comfortable with driving and taught me everything I needed for the test. He knows a lot and gives great advice so I recommend him.

Fantastic experience: Hello everyone, I am very happy to announce you that I have passed my exam. I am the person who did not anything about driving. First of all, I am office worker and do not have free time before 5PM, I was facing difficulty in selecting the school who can give me classes after 5 PM and over weekends. I searched all Staten Island schools they were not flexible for me. I am really grateful to Delight Driving School as they understand my problems and gave me Classes on my availability. My Instructor was Miss Kamila, who is wonderful teacher, she taught me the lessons in a nice and easy ways. She never lost her patience on my repeatedly mistakes. She gave me a-lot of confidence. She is the excellent lady and teacher. I had one session with our Head of the school, he pointed out and taught me the very important points of not only pass the exam but also important for safety also.
