Fantastic experience: Had some issues at first but that's to be expected in day to day life. A-1 stepped up and saw us through our time of need. The staff was more than helpful and took our feelings into consideration. We would definitely recommend A-1 Driving School to ANY person in need of their resources. Thanks everyone at A-1!

Negative experience: I took my partner to do her driving test at this location, the instructor Randy was very rude. Made her sit and wait for him to finish his breakfast to start her test. He gave very confusing instructions during the parking section on the test and confusing directions on the drive. He was very huffy-puffy agitated the whole time. She missed a turn and he threw his clip board on the floor. She has been practicing driving for weeks including long distance and work traffic, she is not bad!, he said she couldn’t drive! This is very unprofessional and will not be returning to this location. (his name might not have been randy. started with R correct address though)

Negative experience: I wish I could add my recordings here!!! I wasn’t planning to leave a review, but the instructor completely ruined my day with his unfair treatment. I arrived at the office 15 minutes early, prior to a 10:30 road test and from the attitude he gave me, I had a feeling he was going to fail me. I asked him a simple question about a store, and his response made it clear that things weren’t going to go well and from that moment I decided to get a recording. While driving, as I slowed down at a speed bump, he started shouting and even grabbed the steering wheel because I wasn’t speeding over it. Later, he said I failed because I was driving too slow (going 20 in a 25 mph zone, and 30 in a 35). He also claimed I was too cautious at intersections. Of course, I was cautious—it’s an intersection! Slowing down is common sense, not a reason to fail. Then, he said I was “easily distracted” because I scratched my nose. Really? I’ve been driving for years, and I was simply doing a road test to get my new state license. This is the first time I’ve been treated so unfairly. It’s frustrating and feels completely unjust. I just call it a lost and I’ll just be taking my business elsewhere!

My instructor Mr. Albert was very helpful and very amusing. He made the 6 hour course fly by so quick with his little jokes. Thank you Mr. Albert!

I would like to thank Ray Thomas and Russel Tarpley as these were the driving instructors who helped expand her driving skills. This company was extremely professional throughout the duration of my experience here. I would recommend this company to any new drivers or anybody who needs a trusted team to teach anyone you know how to drive. Fantastic experience: My son did the 6 hour behind the wheel class with Russell. We had a great experience. If your teen is getting ready for their road test, ask for Russell. He will have them ready to go!

Negative experience: At 10:28 this morning and A-1 vehicle with a student and instructor were in my neighborhood. I was walking my dog and saw the vehicle approaching so I was very alert.The next worse happened and the car veered towards us and I was able to get out of the way. Simple enough that because I was upset I called A1 and police. A-1 denied they had a car or instructor in our area. Witness followed the car and cameras caught the incident. The company denied everything but the instructor took responsibility and apologized. This company is about the money not safe driving.upset

Negative experience: On sat my partner was kicked out of online class 6 hrs into it due to him being 10 min late on a break. He had technical difficulties. I was helping him with the issues. When he got back into the the group the instructor then said to him”you’re late!” “You won’t be able to finish the corse”! “You’ll have to call and start all over and pay an extra 25$”. Tuesday the office opened. We called. They’re not willing to refund the money. It was 300 & approx. They’ve put us in a jam and treated this situation in a very negative way. I wouldn’t recommend anyone who is honest and wants to do what they’re supposed to do in order to get their license back not to use a1 services

Negative experience: This company is completely unusable. I paid for a road test in FEBRUARY. It is now May. Over many calls, messages, emails, and having spoken to multiple people, sometimes told I would get a call back from "the owner," I cannot find any way to book a road test. Now it turns out they don't offer tests at most of their locations, which would be relevant if there was even any way to book them. Edit: They immediately called to book a test after I left this review. I am leaving it up until they fix their booking system.

Fantastic experience: The instructor was kind and friendly. He never passed judgment on us and had a profound understanding of the course topic. The fact that they had padded office chairs truly makes a difference, as does the welcoming ambiance. Free coffee and breakfast were a huge benefit! My encounter was made more enjoyable by the instructor's warmth and kindness. This is the spot to go if you're seeking for a great institution for your classes.

Negative experience: My son took a Road Test in this location. The instructor named Ray, was very rude, not welcoming, and unprofessional. He made my son feel uncomfortable. I’ve called this place over 50 time and no one answers the phone. Do not waste your money through this company. They do not treat you the basics for road test and if you fail you’ve wasted your money either way. Horrible experience and bad attitudes. If I could give no stars I would.

Fantastic experience: Booked my road test here. Nice and quick. Instructor Raymond was very professional. Talked me through the portions of the tests. Instructed me well on what I needed to do. After the test he told me my faults and congratulated me on passing ; D

Fantastic experience: The class is online; 9:30AM to 4:30PM. Brady did a wonderful job or keeping everyone's attention with his delivery and stories. The class did fly by, wasn't nearly as bad as I was expecting. You get a 10 minute break every hour plus 1 hour lunch, it really helps. In addition to the course content, we were also educated on: current scams, recent ticket prices, absurd laws that the cops can use against you and how to handle emergency situations. I'm glad I took the course and I'd recommend it to my friends and family.

Negative experience: Instructor and class was great. However, DO NOT pay for a class through this company. I have not received my certificate and it’s been a week since I took the class. Customer service is the worst I’ve ever experienced. It will take you 10+ calls to finally reach anyone and when you do they have an attitude and are anything but helpful. Don’t make the same mistake I did, go somewhere else.

Negative experience: This place is unprofessional, and does not care about you getting what you need to done. I am on probation and needed to complete a risk reduction class to complete my probation. So I paid a1 360 dollars for it. The first time I was never sent the contracts I needed to sign in order to be enrolled in the class, the day of the class I was told by iris ( very rude and could honestly care less about helping you ) that she didn’t send out the contract because she was not there the day before. Honestly does not matter because other people should not suffer because 1 person was not at work and they should have had someone filling in for her. I then rescheduled the class for the next week, I had to take time off work to do so. So when the next week comes around I called the day before the class and asked when I would be sent the link for the virtual class. Iris told me that they would be sending it by 4:00 pm that day. They never did. So I woke up at 7:45 the next day because they opened at 8 am and tried calling, I called over 25 times and got no answer. She finally answered at 10:30 ( after the class had started ) and when I told her I still had not received the link all she said was “ are you serious “ so when I stated I was and started saying how ridiculous it is that they cannot do their job, she hung the phone up on me and refused to answer when I called back. I am getting a refund and going somewhere that can actually be professional. Do not use this place.

Fantastic experience: Did my on site road test here; with both on course and on road parts. Passed the tester is very nice and kind. Would recommend taking the test here to anyone without own vehicle.

Negative experience: I took a defensive driving course here and had Brady Johnson as my instructor. He singled me out and started patronizing me. He randomly accused only me of not paying attention for a question that none of the other students heard either. He also made some underhanded comments about me. Besides that, he was a passionate and engaging teacher. He did say he was recovering from a recent Covid shot, so maybe he took that frustration out on me. Whatever the case, his behavior was unprofessional and unacceptable.

Fantastic experience: Both of my kids did their driver's ed and road test with A-1 within a few years of each other. The communication and scheduling are both easy and convenient. The driving instructors were also very good and helped both of my kids with their skills. We are done with the drivers license process but I would certainly use A-1 again and recommend them to anyone who is getting ready to get a new drivers license.

Negative experience: I had no driving experience and no one to practice that’s the reason I had driving class with this service but they took me for 10 hours only straight drivers and one time less that half and hour parallel parking and I failed the test.

Fantastic experience: With how to world is currently due to Covid, A-1 Driving School has made it extremely accessible to those whose lives are not on hold. Being able to take a DDC online is extremely helpful to those who are unable to attend in person, and should definitely should be considered an option for the future.

Fantastic experience: I completed 8 hours of drivers education and my road test through A1 drivers school. I am happy to report that as of today I am now a licensed driver. I went into it with some drivers experience but not much. The communication along the way was phenomenal. I got text updates before every session and notes from my instructor along the way. My instructor Barbarella Anderson was always on time to pick me up for my lessons bright and early and she taught me how to parallel park, turn about park, and over all know how to control the car and stay in my lanes. I’m so great full for her and A1DS. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I wasn’t all that excited to take a defensive driving class, but I actually had a great time completing the class. The class was held virtually but was still easy to understand and complete.

Positive experience: I wasn't looking forward to this class, but the experience was very good. It was a virtual class and they definitely have perfected the virtual learning experience. The class was presented at a good pace, and overall, I have to say, I enjoyed it. The instructor was pleasant and kept the class informative but entertaining at the same time.

Negative experience: Edit: 11 months late but the owner has lied about me not being in the database. I purchased a total of 4 classes with my last being over a year ago. The driver instructors are rude and not patient . At least at the Marietta center. They filter the negative reviews and they tried to make me delete mine over a year a go. Trust me just go to another school .

Fantastic experience: This is actually my second course taken with A-1 Driving School and just like the first class, the risk reduction class didn't disappoint. I am a little late placing this review however, better late than never. Going into the risk reduction class I thought virtually it wouldn't be that great. However, the experience due to the instructor was great. I can't remember his name off the top of my head being the course was taken in July 2020. I would however recommend A-1 to any individual looking for professional, yet informative instructors who actually care about those they're teaching.

Negative experience: This school is working virtually and because my iPad can only be on the side to stand the teacher removed me from the course and now there not answer the phone to give me a refund. I have pictures to prove I was in the session. Been waiting to speak to a supervisor for over 30 minutes.

Fantastic experience: Took this class virtually and although we hadn’t met in person the instructor, Mr. Berry, was very professional and personable and made the most of the class. I learned so much in a day and definitely recommend A1 Driving school for defensive driving classes.

Fantastic experience: I attended the Defensive Driving course for insurance discounts and was very much dreading it but was pleasantly surprised with how entertaining it was! Patricia was my instructor and was positive, fun, and made the course fly by while also educating us all. I feel like a much safer driver and am grateful I chose A-1.

The instructor was very knowledgeable and helped us with all our queries. Moreover, the whole class was made very interesting and interactive. The breaks were nicely designed that didn't let us get bored or tired. I got the certificate the next day. Thank a lot.

Fantastic experience: I went into this drivers ed class with a very negative attitude because I thought it would be a complete waste of my Saturday but right when I walked in the class my instructor Yolonda Ford made me feel comfortable with the seven of people in the class room and helped the day go by fast with a positive attitude at the end of the day. I would recommend this class to anyone who wants to reduce their points on their license or reduce insurance cost.

Usually I fall asleep in classroom settings but I was awake during the whole class very informing and very interesting instructors. I got the certificate the next day. Thank you.

Fantastic experience: I attended the 6 hour course on a Wednesday. I dreaded the idea of having to take this course, not thinking much of it. But after taking the defensive driving course, I learned so much from it, information I never knew before driving. It was also a great course that helped me focus on driving more carefully. The 6 hour course went by very fast. The instructor, Mr. McCahren, made it very fun and explained the information very detailedly.

Fantastic experience: The facility was nice enough and the chairs were comfortable. I found it odd that there were never paper towels in the bathroom but that was no big deal. A-1 has many locations around Georgia and hires many contractors to teach the 20 hour risk reduction course. This excellent review has less to do with A-1 and more to do with the instructor they hired named John Goss. This man is a counselor that loves what he does and he let everyone in the room know that from the minute we walked in the door. He has a great sense of humor, was polite, nonjudgmental, and respectful to everyone in the class. My experience between this facility and another I tried was night and day. Class members who did not care to participate on the first day eventually did so, willingly, as the class progressed because the teacher had made us all feel comfortable enough to share. He told us stories from previous classes that backed up every lesson we covered with real world examples; this level of insight only existed because other students felt comfortable enough to be open with him and share. In addition, and probably most importantly, Mr. Goss understood that we are all required to take the class but he did not want it to be a punishment. I felt that he truly wanted us all to get something positive out of our time with him so that we walked away better informed with a desire to make better low risk choices. He participated during every single class discussion period and even spurred debates from which we all learned something new. Mr. Goss was a breath of fresh air and it is my hope that everyone required to take this class has the good fortune of getting a counselor like him.

Fantastic experience: A-1 Driving school has a great program. Instructors are good at keeping engagement and stress the importance of carrying good/safe driving habits day-to-day.

Fantastic experience: This was an excellent lesson. Professor was very supportive and it was great to be there. Teacher expressed himself calmly and spoke slowly, I as a foreigner, I managed to understand and learn a lot and it was easy. The Certificate arrived fast the other day, and I was already able to send it to the DDS online and have my 6 points removed from my driver's license on the spot. I am very happy.

Negative experience: I took this class to learn how to drive defensively and all I learned about was not to text while drive, not to take drugs, and not to drink while driving which is all common sense. Then at the end of the class the teacher told us EVERY question and EVERY answer to the test. Why test us if you're going to just give us the answer beforehand? I didn't learn anything to help me drive better, and I feel like all my money was wasted.

Fantastic experience: Wasn't my ideal way to spend my Saturday but the instructor did her best to keep us interested and she was very informative. The school was not too far from home. Ample parking available. Room we were in was small. Overall ok place to take a DDC.

Fantastic experience: I took a defensive driving course to reduce points for a speeding ticket. My instructor, Ron, made the class interesting and relevant. He made the 6 hours go by quickly and I learned a few things I didn't already know as well as was reminded of things I should apply to my everyday driving. The facility is clean and relatively easy to find off the main road if you're familiar with the area around the big chicken. I recommend this facility and hopefully you get Ron as your instructor too, as he definitely made the class enjoyable!

Fantastic experience: First - The Cons; Difficult to locate off the main road, and the hours are inaccurate when signing up for Sunday classes. [Business hours say closed, building appears closed, so I couldn't tell if I was charged for a class I couldn't attend.] Aside from that, I really enjoyed my Defensive driving course. Ron Giboney was our instructor and he was very positive and engaged with the class. He gave us consistent breaks and a solid lunch period to keep us awake and ready to learn. While I was obligated to attend the class, I thoroughly enjoyed it and will recommend this location to my colleagues.

Fantastic experience: With this being my first time taking a defensive driving course this was a great experience. I certainly did not know what to expect but Allen McCahren a.k.a "Santa" did not only make the course easy to understand and follow but kept you awake with awesome relevant and relatable stories. I would say the only downfall I had with this experience is that on the website it does not indicate that they close for lunch, thus if you do not have a car your kind of stuck or must go to a near by restaurant to pass time. Other than that it was a great experience.

Negative experience: First, the good: the facility is conveniently located, and signing up was pretty easy. That's about where the good ended. The instructor for my glass was a Yolanda Ford. She was absolutely the most unprofessional instructor I've ever seen. She first started our class by doing this stupid "BAG" exercise, where instead of proceeding with the actual point of the class, she had everyone give examples of things we were grateful for or wanted to brag about. Someone else in the class spoke up and said that they paid $95 for a defensive driving course, not that garbage. A high school classroom scene proceeded, with the instructor cursing and generally acting as if she had never taught a class in her life. Another person taking the class, who admittedly kept putting his head down, also caused a ruckus that she clearly did not know how to handle. Ugh, high school. High school. High school. The course was pretty dumb, with tons of typographical errors in the presentation. During breaks, the instructor would play explicit rap/hip hop music (not that I don't listen to it, but that's not appropriate for a classroom). She also told us what will be on the test before we took it. What a waste of time. I mean, I think this whole system is dumb, but at least make some effort into making it seem like we weren't just paying $95 to sit in a classroom to learn nothing. Hell, why can't I just give them $95 for the certificate at the door and walk out? Nothing about this was meant to make us learn anything. Then again, if having to deal with this experience is the state's way of making me never speed again, it was actually quite effective. I never want to have to be put into the same room as this instructor ever again.
