Yost Driving School

Fantastic experience: Daniel Smith is a very nice instructor. He’s clear, patient and understanding. I highly recommended him and this school. My mom is Vietnamese but he works wonder. They even give out small break and snacks during the driving lesson.

Positive experience: Edit to my update I posted (see below) after I made my post I received a text to schedule my daughter’s driving lessons. I appreciate that they finally reached out and got it scheduled . Did have to reschedule with a different instructor since she’s still in school and had do have someone who could drive with her after school hrs. With the holidays and weather it pushed them back. Jan-23-25 my child drove. My child took the class back on Oct 12, here we are Jan 7 and still haven’t got anyone to contact us to sign up for driving time

Fantastic experience: This place is really great! It is a little expensive but it’s worth it. You do your written test the same day as the class, You get 6 hours of driving, you don’t have to take a driving test when you get your license and the drivers are really nice! I’d recommend it!

Negative experience: Edit to my update I just posted (see below) Literally 10 minutes after I made my post I received a text to schedule my son’s driving lessons. I do appreciate the company finally performing. Horrible if your child is trying to get their restricted permit. My 15 year old son took his class back in the beginning of September and it’s now Nov 11th and they still haven’t called to setup his driving lessons. How can any business operate like this in good conscience. I call and they have no update on when they can get him started on his driving requirement.

Fantastic experience: Hands down the best place for learning how to drive at any age. They're very accommodating with pizza, donuts, cookies and water during the class course and have flexibility with scheduling for driving sessions. The class was engaging and interactive with real experiences incorporated so that anyone who walks through those doors, comes out equipped with the knowledge of driving and staying safe. The driving course is thorough and detailed. I appreciate the experiences and lessons I have gained from Yost. Thank you Yost!

Fantastic experience: I took my daughter to Yost driving school it was nice clean professional, they provide them with donuts in the morning and they provide them with lunch. I was very surprised to see that I did not expect that and I thought it was very nice. The Drivers Ed instructor was very nice and very helpful in teaching my daughter how to drive everyone there is very nice and helpful. She passed and completed driving school and now has her learners permit. I am very satisfied with your driving school thank you.

Fantastic experience: My son attended Yost driving school. Every single person that works here definitely goes above and beyond. Before Yost, I was so scared to let my son drive with me and now I don't drive when he's with me. I let him. He's a better driver than me. Worth every penny.

We have twin girls who had huge smiles on their faces after taking the class on a Saturday. Our driving instructor, Daniel, did a WONDERFUL job!! The girls were so thankful with how calm he was even when there may have been times that warranted some screaming. We definitely recommend this driving school!!

Fantastic experience: I loved it! My parents didn’t really like how it’s only 6 hrs they thought it should be more than that. Because I’m still not confident behind the wheel even after getting my license. My instructor said he has another job to go to and my parents aren’t able to teach me bc of their schedule.

Fantastic experience: they made sure to reach out and answer any of my questions. I started as a beginner and they were patient with me and allowed me to get the hang of it pretty quick, and I’m a driver now (!!)

Fantastic experience: I just took this as a student. Instructors were very happy and energized. Sitting in a room for 8 hours learning how to drive would be boring for anybody, but they tried their best for it to be fun!

Fantastic experience: Very good experience, my driver was very paitent with me and taught me the lights on the dash, took me to 4 ways, dirt roads, highways, down town, and they take you to quick trip every drive, the class was good too! they fed breakfast, lunch and a good snack when it was over! thanks to my driving instructor daniel!

Fantastic experience: We were referred by a good friend whose son went through Yost and recommended them. We had a positive experience here as well. My son took the Driver’s Ed course in class for one day, and then drove several different days with an instructor. He said his instructor was very patient and easy to drive with. Daniel took time to explain how he was doing and answered any questions I had when they got back. I would definitely recommend for anyone needing more driving confidence.

Fantastic experience: This driving school was wonderful!! The customer service was exceptional! My daughter learned a lot in the class time and had a great instructor for the driving time. They were very flexible with scheduling drive time. We loved that they came to the house to pick our daughter up and that part of the driving sessions were real life experiences like going to a car wash or a drive thru. My daughter even got to experience driving an electric car! I would 100% recommend them to anyone with a new teen driver!

Fantastic experience: We loved everything about the Yost driving school! Our son enjoyed the in class time and his instructor was amazing. We now have a 15 year old who is a really great driver!

Negative experience: What they won't tell you is how long the lessons will take as they bite more than they can chew. In our case, we were told that they would prioritize us so we could get our certificate on or around before our driving permit expired. But once we signed the papers, they told us that it was going to take 6-7 weeks to schedule driving lessons and that was after the classroom portion of the training. This is unreasonable and not advertised initially. They even have the audacity to ask for more money if you need scheduled sooner. And when we wanted to cancel and asked for a refund, they got upset and are refused to refund our money even though we got no service. Not good people to deal with! Other schools in Wichita commit to much better schedules and upfront about what they can do.

Fantastic experience: Yost’s drivers ed program was very good. While it took a little while for me to get assigned to a teacher, the driving sessions were great and my instructor was very patient and clear.

Fantastic experience: We’ve had both our sons go thru Yost Driving School. I have to say, they are great! Everyone there treats the students as young adults, and extends so much respect. They really enjoyed the classroom time, well as much as a teenager can enjoy a classroom! Their personal driving instructor. Daniel Smith, was super accommodating to our busy schedules. He had great feedback for us about things our kids did well when driving and things they needed to work on. I have recommended them several times to friends and will continue to do so.

Fantastic experience: Great Experience! The class I attended was larger but they did an efficient job following up in a timely manner after the class session. The instructor was very personable and knowledgeable. I do not feel that they rushed the process and the whole experience made me feel more confident and comfortable.

Fantastic experience: Yost Driving School was an excellent choice for us for our 14 year old! The Saturday class provided her the confidence and knowledge to pass her written test. It was so nice to not have to take her to the DMV to take the test and that she was able to take it in a comfortable setting. The driving lessons were so easily scheduled and she especially enjoyed stopping to get a drink from QT.

Everything was very easy from enrolling her, taking her to class and then scheduling the drive times. The driving instructor had good communication and she got a lot of good experience with him. Fantastic experience: My son Adam attended classes at Yost driving school and did he is in person driving with Dan Smith. With our families busy schedule Dan made it easy for us to work our sun schedule into Dans. It was great having an outside person giving Adam direction and helping him to understand how to become a safe driver! I feel like Dan really enhanced Adams awareness and ownership in the process of being a responsible driver. I would recommend any and everybody take their kids to Yost driving school and help make a difference in our young adults driving and safe driving!

Negative experience: Apparently your older instructors have issues with controlling their anger. My son’s vehicle broke down in Derby today in front of your wrapped white four door vehicle. The man diving screamed at my son and myself and honked in a belligerent manner. We had turned our hazards on but they were dim due to mechanical issues. His screaming and honking made us feel very unsafe and humiliated us. Your drivers need to set a better example. The Derby PD was contacted. Road rage is unacceptable.

Fantastic experience: Good class. Daniel was terrific, very patient as he took our son out on the road for the first time. It was so convenient that he came to our house to pick him up for his driving hours!

Fantastic experience: Great communication from the first test with the owner, the explanations from the office manager and to the last text with the driving instructor. Great learning atmosphere for the class. Daniel, the driving instructor was very calm during the 6 hours on the road, communicated with the parents and was very punctual.

Using Yost Driving School to help him wrap up the process of getting his drivers license was easier than imagined. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Fantastic experience: We've used Yost for two of our kids so far and plan to use them for the other three when the time comes. My son just finished up his behind-the-wheel part with Daniel, who was kind and helpful. Daniel was sure to discuss how our son did with either my husband or myself after driving sessions, which was very helpful. I highly recommend this driving school.

Fantastic experience: THANK YOU YOST!! I had a fantastic and easy experience here at Yost. I was worried about how many steps there are for getting a drivers license, but now that I got it, it felt like 5 easy steps and I’m done with my tests and driving test. I promise they teach you everything you need to know in a visual and not technical mumbo-jumbo.
