Negative experience: This was a terrible experience. If I could do it over, I would never have my daughter go to this school. Sohail was irritable and snapping his fingers in my daughters face while she was driving. He never taught her to back up into a parking spot which is needed. He then yelled at myself and her when we were practicing how to backup into a parking spot at his laundry mat his family owns. He told us to go to the movie theater parking lot to practice on a Saturday night, while his parking spot had 2 cars in and was not busy. When we told him he taught my daughter and we were not disturbing anyone, he yelled " Your disturbing me!". He didn't recognize my daughter that he had taught both sessions for and did all the driving with. He is not a nice person, a terrible teacher, and is only in it for the money. I would never recommend this place for anyone.

Negative experience: I had the misfortune of signing up for driving lessons from this school. Suhail was late for our lesson, which I didn’t think too much about. I joined the school to learn how to drive and this was the first time I was trying it out. Maybe a bit late given my age, but it is what it is. Suhail was incredibly rude to me when I made a mistake, and he kept yelling at me (and even swore at me once). That made me even more nervous and make more mistakes. It got so bad and humiliating for me that when we stopped midway in the 2 hour lesson, I told him that I was done. At least, he gave me my check back and didn’t take any money for the hour he spent “teaching” me. He tried to be nicer when I said I was done to do some damage control, but it couldn’t make up for the terrible time I had. I see from other reviews that it could be a family owned business and he could be part of it, so beyond leaving a complaint directly with the business I am also leaving one here so that prospective students can make a decision regarding this business better.

Fantastic experience: I feel pretty confident with parallel parking now, thanks to Ann Arbor driving school. The best!

Negative experience: If I could give these men a negative star I would. If your looking for your child to get a good driver's education, then spend that extra couple hundred dollars and go to all star or anywhere else in a2. My teenager was legit in tears after every single driving session with Suhail. They're learning and to be screamed and scrutinized at by someone who calls themselves an educator only sets them back and they don't get the full benefit of being taught correctly. I got 3 more kids I have to eventually pay for drivers ed for and I will never return. My daughter won't even be coming back for segment 2. I myself came in for the parent meeting and could laugh at what a joke they are for trying to teach. Sohail has very bad case of add. He could not pay attention to what he was teaching and would pause for 60 seconds and then repeat what he would say 3 times. I'm so disappointed, I feel for any kids who had to drive with him. He's going to yell at the wrong kid and get what comes to him.

Negative experience: They don’t reply to any emails that I sent about their adult lesson 2-3 days ago.

We shared our concerns with staff who then took immediate action to create a driving program to best support my child's needs. In other words, they went above and beyond to accommodate my child to ensure a great learning experience. Ann Arbor Driving School is the best driving school in Ann Arbor. We are forever thankful for the care and support we received at AADS.

Fantastic experience: I had two days of driving practice with Suhail and he was really great! Really calm and clear instructions 10/10 recommend. I passed my driving test perfectly the next day.

Negative experience: I was a student at this school in the summer. The older instructor was very unprofessional, he cut his nails in the car, he also vaped with the windows down with 2 MINORS in the car. He would push the brake hard as I eased on the brake and he would then tell me to stop slamming the break. Overall very unprofessional, the instructor of the classroom did very well though.

Negative experience: Younger son in this family business teaches driving and is extremely rude, short- tempered, and doesn't value time and money. He used to be ALWAYS late to the driving lesson by at least 10mins, wouldn't make up for the lost time and would still charge full money. It's $60 an hour so that's at least $10. Was extremely short tempered and rude during last session when teaching parking. Only reason I went there was because I was in a hurry to get a driving license, this was close to where I lived, and didn't have time to check out other driving schools. Please don't make this mistake, save yourself and go to a different driving school.

Negative experience: Unfortunately my experience with the school wasn’t the best. The instructor who I was taking classes with was very unprofessional. I took just two classes and I am done with it. This instructor was late on both classes. During the class he was rude, he was constantly on phone calls or ate. Didn’t seem to care about the class at all. It was very frustrating.

Positive experience: I had my first adult driving lesson (2 hrs) with Suhail today. Going into it, I was pretty nervous as it has been almost two weeks since I last practiced driving, and unfortunately Suhail didn't make the experience any better for me. Maybe it was just a bad day for him, but every time he spoke he was rude and sounded like he didn't want to be here. Sometimes he would also give unclear instructions then get mad at me because I incorrectly inferred the correct action to take. He also didn't give any positive reinforcement throughout the session, so I had a really hard time knowing whether I did something right or not. Overall, it was an unpleasant learning experience. Edit: Turns out instructor Suhail was indeed just having a bad day. He had apologized and gave me a partial refund.

Negative experience: I scheduled my driving test and less than 24 hours before it they called and canceled on me.

Negative experience: I tried to call to ask some questions (how much the test would be, would I be using my car or a different car, exc.) and they told me they don’t answer questions over the phone and hung up in my face. The man who answered the phone was extremely rude.

Fantastic experience: The instructors were amazing and cooperative. They teach very nicely keeping in-check all the tiny details. They help you understand your weak spots and work on them vigorously. Very helpful and informative!

He helps me familiar with the traffic rule of the United States and built my confidence for the road test. And Simon is a very professional examiner. Fantastic experience: I had my driving test today with Ann Arbor Driving School and I really liked the overall experience. I was naturally a bit anxious at the start; it was raining too today which added to the overall anxiety. But the examiner's calm attitude along with some of his very helpful suggestions during the drive quickly helped me regain the usual confidence I have had lately during my learning. I would definitely recommend them.

Positive experience: Scheduled my son's road test here. The owner was helpful with answering questions prior to scheduling. During the road test he continued my son's driver's education with helpful pointers and tips.

Positive experience: The parking lot that you test in feels a little cramped and the first time I took the test it was busy, not sure who my tester was but they didn't communicate with me much and I was using a bigger vehicle. However my second attempt with them was much much better. I had Simon as my examiner and he was really low stress and helpful. I rented their car for the second attempt and had much less trouble with the parking portion. My gratitude goes to Simon though, he was awesome.

Fantastic experience: After failing my first road test, because i was extremely nervous and didnt know what to expect, the road tester here was amazing! He saw i was nervous and worked with me. Instead of ignoring it, telling em to just get on with the test. He told me points I need to work on but weren't too critical overall, I've had my license for about a month and it's amazing! Im so glad i came here.

Fantastic experience: My son took driving lessons here, including a couple extra private lessons, and also his driving test. They were very good instructors, accommodating and professional. My son is on the autism spectrum and they were very patient with him. Suhail and Simon were great. The driving test instructor was good and calm with him too. I definitely recommend them.

My tester was Simon and I was greeted with a kind smile and a calm but assuring tone which made me feel at ease. The driving test went great with him giving clear directions. The class instructor, Mrs. B, was very pleasant and knowledgeable. She was able to answer Any questions that I had, and I had a lot! Lol! Then, it came time for my son to drive, and I was pretty nervous. But Dean, the driving instructor, was Awesome! He was calm, knowledgeable, and patient....a Very good instructor! Negative experience: I had a very bad experience with this business. I registered my daughter for a driving class at the end of June, 2020 and we signed the contract. The web site showed 10 people limit per class. At the end of July, I called them and asked them if they clean the class room every day. The owner was very RUDE and he told me he had no plan to clean the room. On the next day, they called my daughter and told her that she was put on the waiting list and she should not go to the class. We already signed the contract in June. Why are they so afraid of us? I am very worried about the people, especially teenagers who go to this place and stay at least 2 hours every day. Everyone should do his own part to help this town. This is a very bad business. Do not trust them. They do not put people's safety first and they do not honor their business contract. Reply to your comment: You are lying to the public. When I signed up, the web site stated limit 10 people per class. I was told that the class at 10am was full and the class at 12pm had spots. So I signed up for the 12pm class. I have all the emails from your employee. Do not lie to the public! The owner specifically told me that he had NO plan to clean the room everyday. Why did you move us out of your list if you were doing the cleaning? What made you dis-honor the business contract that you have on file? You moved us to the waiting list right after (the next morning) I requested classroom cleaning. You are not doing an HONEST business.

Fantastic experience: Just passed my road test. Simon was really calm and professional. Didn't talk much so I could focus. The lady before me who was taking her test had failed. He was explaining to her what I was doing and what she did wrong. He even allowed her to practice more. Overall really positive experience, went through town and freeway (essentials) and was done in 30min.

Negative experience: Horrible experience. Do not recommend. The female instructor was disrespectful, unprofessional, and in the end, attempted to deflect attention from her poor behavior by directing toward us an accusation of some unnamed and ungrounded 'prejudice' against her. WTF?! Here's a detailed timeline if you want to read more. 1. I scheduled an appointment with them at 12:30, showed up at 12:10. During the wait, nobody told me what I needed to do. At around 12:20, I walked up to a male instructor and let him know that I had an appointment at 12:30. He told me to wait until it was my turn, and someone would come to me. Nobody ever came up to me. 2. At around 12:40, I went up to a female instructor who just came back from a road test. I told her that I had an appointment at 12:30. The female instructor told me that she was running late and was supposed to leave at 1:00 pm. She had to do another test originally scheduled at 12:00, but another instructor would do my test instead. She didn't apologize to anyone affected by her delay. 3. At around 1 pm, the male instructor came back. I went up to him and told him again that my test was scheduled at 12:30, but he had another test to do and said I would be the next. 4. At around 1:20, the female instructor came back. I didn't expect her to give me the test because she said she was going to leave at 1:00, but I saw her standing 30 feet away from my car seemingly waiting for me like I was supposed to know what to do. 5. As I pulled up to her, she didn't come close to my window or anything. I brought my documents and walked up to her. She started saying that she wouldn't be giving me the test, but she would help fill up my paperwork. 6. As she was filling up the paperwork, she asked me where I learned to drive. I wasn't sure what kind of answer I was supposed to give her, like which road I learned to drive on? I thought she might've asked 'when' instead of 'where' so I tried to confirm with her. Then she changed the question to who taught me to drive. I told her "it was my friend, to be more specific, my husband". She hesitated and asked, 'so...your partner?' I sensed some hostility towards my homosexuality but I didn't take it very seriously as there might be some cultural and/or religious difference. 7. After she was done with the paperwork, she instructed me to start the road test. Wait, what? I thought she wasn't going to do my road test? When did it change? Maybe she's just gonna do my parking test and let the other instructor take over after? Anyway, I was glad if she was to give me the road test because it means I didn't have to wait any longer, but I would appreciate it more if I could be informed of any plan change for the test I paid for. 8. After the parking test, she got in my car. I explained to her that I was planning to adjust my mirrors even though they were already adjusted because I heard people say it's a must in the test. She didn't respond. But as I was adjusting the mirrors, she asked very impatiently, 'Can you move?' 9. The way she spoke with me and the way she gave instructions during the road test was very condescending with a lack of respect and professionalism. Despite me waiting for about an hour and how uncomfortable she made me feel, I showed her great respect. Each time she 'issued a command', I would say 'okay, thank you' to show my appreciation for her time and to confirm that her instruction was received. 10. In the end, we had an argument. She stormed out of my car without a proper conclusion. I said to her as she was getting in her car, ''thank you for making us wait for one hour". She replied, "You are welcome" with contempt on her face. I guess some people take pride in being rude. 11. She didn't give me my receipt so we drove to their office to get it. She kept us locked out the whole time except when she handed out the receipt. When my husband pointed out that she was tardy and unprofessional, she just threw at our face an unexplained and ungrounded accusation of us being prejudicial.

Fantastic experience: I just passed my road test today!!! I was really nervous when coming to take my test but the woman who instructed me, was extremely patient and so kind. She kept reassuring me that I was doing good & it really helped to boost my confidence. I recommend everyone go to this place for their road test!! Unless you seriously have no idea what you’re doing behind the wheel or no prior lessons driving then you will be fine.

Negative experience: The front wheel of my bike was hit by a car from "Ann Arbor Driving School" coming out of a parking lot. Yes, I should have been more careful. However, I only went in front of the car after seeing them look left to right 5 times. They should have seen me. After they hit me, I expected them to roll down a window and apologize. Nope. I called the driving school, and the person who answered was the person who hit me. He said "he thought he was close but didn't think he hit me." I believe it, but clearly he is an incompetent driver if he didn't see me after I waited for 10 seconds before going in front of him while he was completely blocking my path (also not a good sign). He 100% knew I was yelling at him, implying that something had happened, but no acknowledgement. The employee was the one who hit me and couldn't even tell. Is this the kind of person you want teaching your kids to drive?

Fantastic experience: My grandson moved to Michigan from South America to attend college. He had a drivers license, but needed to learn more about freeway driving, parallel parking, and Michigan specifics. I chose this school based on the reviews and could not be more delighted with his experience. He took two sessions of adult behind-the-wheel lessons with Dean, who was excellent. He was very calm and could not have been any nicer. Then my grandson took the test and passed! I highly recommend this driving school.

Fantastic experience: I have driven back in my home country. So I decided to take just a class to get used to left hand driving. Suhail, my instructor was very friendly and answered most of my questions. We even managed to strike some good conversations along the way. On the day of the test, Simon, my examiner was very calm and warm. That allows the test taker to relax and do the best they can. He was very clear with his instructions and the test took less than 20 mins (or so it felt!). Would recommend to anyone any dsy. I believe my peace of mind was worth the investment. But may be others don't value their peace of mind so much - so reducing the price a little or offering more packaged options for classes might allow more people to avail your services. I had booked my appointment for a lesson and then my test right after but the trainer realized I wasn’t quite ready yet and I agreed so he told me to come back the very next day for one more lesson and the test. Within only 2 lessons I could finally master it thanks to him. Took my drivers test, the instructor was very kind and calm and professional. I was sooo nervous but he made conversation with me and put me more at ease and even helped me out a little during the test. This is definitely the best family owned driving school in this area!

Fantastic experience: I went to this place for my driving test and the person who I had was awesome he was calm cool and didn't distract me. I took my son here in December and got the same man same results. My son has referred a bunch of his friends here as well they had the same man same results. My daughter just took the road test last week and she had the same man same results she will refer her friend's as well. I would highly recommend this place to everyone I know.
