Fantastic experience: Lucy was amazing! I was nervous learning how to drive at 37 years old but she was so patient and such a great instructor. Unfortunately, I didn’t pass my road test in Redhook, but I did pass the road test the second time and still use what I learned from Lucy. My daughter even reminds me to look out for “grandma”.

Made a stressful situation that much less stressful If you want to learn manual would definitely recommend Brooklyn driving school. I felt fully confident driving in Europe after taking lessons!

Negative experience: They teach you how to drive, but not how to pass the road test

La hora de entrenamiento que dan antes de ir a presentar es muy útil, por muy bien que la persona maneje, siempre existen detalles a corregir, los cual se logra en esta hora previa de entrenamiento. El profesor, una excelente persona, se preocupa por corregir los detalles. Altamente agradecido por sus enseñanzas. Las personas que solo van para asistir a la prueba, porque ya saben conducir, les recomiendo que lo hagan con esta escuela.

Fantastic experience: I was able to pass my road test on the first try. Lucy is a phenomenal instructor and made everything easy to understand. My only complaint would be the smell of cigarettes inside the school, but you spend more time inside the car than in the school— so it wasn’t a big issue. Definitely recommend coming here.

Fantastic experience: The guys work well. No one speaks Russian, but with minimal English I managed to pass the M category exam. I paid the minimum package: according to the terms I was promised half an hour of time to warm up, but in fact I drove the motorbike to warm up place, and then drove to the place of the exam, that is, before the exam I rode for more than an hour. I got penalty points on the exam, of course, but it was purely my fault: don't be too self-confident, learn to turn your head to be seen on the exam. The motorcycle had a bit tight turn signals to off and I had the impression that the clutch was a bit sluggish, but this probably reduces the chances of stalling on the exam.

They work around your schedule and make it work ! Their reminders are on point and make sure that you don’t forget about your classes and day of the road test ! Fantastic experience: O ne of the best driving schools. I also went to Brooklyn driving school 38 years ago and I still have fond good memories of those days. Now my daughter also goes to the same driving school, and she is happy with the instructor and others staff at the Brooklyn driving school.

Fantastic experience: I took a refresher lesson on driving a stick shift back in July (2023). Hadn't driven one in over 20 years. And even then, I drove it badly. Phil, explained the process clearly. If a friend or relative has taught you how to drive stick, chances are, they probably taught you incorrectly (like me). They missed the subtlety in lifting the clutch and hitting the gas. I took one lesson and the next week I was driving (stalling every once in awhile as I got my sea legs) confidently on the Italian hills, narrow curves and steep downhills. I highly recommend Brooklyn Driving School if you want to learn (or re-learn) driving a stick shift. And they likely do the other stuff correctly too.

Fantastic experience: I have never driven a car before in my life before coming to BDS. I am now a confident fully licensed driver. I passed the driving test in one try. The instructors are cordial, explain things thoroughly and in a detailed fashion, and most important- patient! Scheduling is flexible and accommodating, which was very important for me. With the 12 class package I went from NEVER having driven before to a licensed and confident driver. Then after the highway class I feel comfortable being even in the most treacherous of highway situations. I will be referring my friends here. Thank you Brooklyn Driving School!!!

Fantastic experience: I took an hour long manual driving refresher class before renting a car in Europe next month - it's been ten years since I've driven manual. The instructor was helpful and pleasant and the whole experience was great - I'm back to feeling confident about driving stick. They were also very accommodating when I had to reschedule because I'd tested positive for COVID a few weeks ago. Definitely would recommend.

Negative experience: Went for 2 manual driving lessons. The heavy set instructor with glasses is a con-artist and scammer. Says he didn't put our progress in the notes from our first class, so on the day of the 2nd class(only 10 days later) we basically just redid the first class because he is unorganized. Common sense would tell you to make a note directly after the class in the huge book you use to schedule, just in case they come back. Then he gets very defensive and throws a fit because I guess noone should question his shady practices. Needless to say, I left without continuing further. The instructor is shameless and was trying to stretch two classes into 3 classes just for an extra 60 dollars- pathetic. Very unprofessional/rude Avoid this place

Fantastic experience: I have always wanted to learn to drive stick and could only find 2 places in the tri-state area that offered lessons. The cost was so cheap, it honestly almost scared me away. I figured I would give them a chance and I am so glad I did. I actually found their lessons so useful I canceled lessons with others that I had scheduled. I had Luigi who I would highly recommend. He is calm, enthusiastic and great at explaining everything you need to know when driving stick. He has a great teaching method down and knows how to build your confidence when learning. He made me feel extremely comfortable and in moments of panic (for me) he talked me through it. I was nervous to be thrown right into learning to drive stick on the streets of Brooklyn but Brooklyn Driving School really knows and understands the area and the best locations for practice. I would highly recommend to anyone looking to take any sort of driving lessons with the Brooklyn Driving School!

Fantastic experience: Took lessons to learn stickshift (manual). Always wanted to know how, and needed for an excursion on my vacation as well. Fantastic experience: I took driving lessons with Luigi and it was great. He taught me well and made sure I wasn't nervous or afraid behind the wheel. I can only speak on behalf of Luigi but his method of teaching was great. He did make me drive on my first lesson and I was nervous because it was my first time but by the end, I was no longer nervous. I also took the 5-hour class here and Luigi was the one who taught it as well. For a 5-hour class he made it entertaining and fun, barely felt like a 5-hour class. I also paid for the driving license package. The package consisted of them arranging an appointment for the driver's license test, ~40-minute lesson beforehand, and being able to use their car for the test. Overall this place is amazing. I learned how to drive and they helped me get my driver's license. I will be back to learn manual transmission.

Fantastic experience: My driving instructor was Anthony, I told him I already had prior experience but it was a while ago. And he was cool about it. Made me feel comfortable behind the wheel, and guided me throughout the whole lesson.

Negative experience: Very rude personnel using inappropriate language. I tried to plan my classes per package with this school, rescheduled my working hours to squeeze classes and lecture as per school’s offering. Waited an extra week. When I came for my weekday 5hr class and learned that next time driving class is going to be hard to schedule as all time slots busy and they refused to schedule me when I came the first time promising that there will be no problem, I was upset. The manager or “owner”as he called himself told me that others scheduled first. I could not believe my ears - I was there first when they had all available time slots but refused to book my class saying we’ll do as you come later and there won’t be a problem. Instead of trying to help, an “owner” or as he introduced himself started to use inappropriate language and harassing me. No respect to their customers. No respect to my time and effort to be there at such inconvenient hour. It was hard to turn away and walk out as I lost money for not being at work, and prepared to seat for 5 hrs class as I need to accelerate the whole process. But I could not tolerate such egregious behavior. The way they acted is no excuse. Do not waste your time for this school - hard to deal, a bit of misunderstanding and they ll show you all their nature with inappropriate language and all other “perks”. Stay away and find a decent place!

He was patient/calm with me, and also helped me understand what was actually going on inside the workings of the car as we went through the motions. I was a little nervous beforehand, but it couldn’t have gone better. Office crew was also very friendly, and my lesson started exactly at my scheduled time. Made it into 3rd gear on the first lesson and looking forward to further developing my stick driving skills with Brooklyn Driving School!

Fantastic experience: This place is such a great place to learn how to drive stick shift! I went with the intention and to learn before I went to Iceland and rent a the campervan around the island. And I was able to do it including having the most random weather and terrain conditions! Great place!
