The Next Street - Monroe Driving School

Fantastic experience: I had Ari as a driving instructor. I just passed my test. I couldn’t have done it without him he helped me immensely if I could recommend an instructor it’d have to be him. Nicest, chillest and most patient guy you’ll meet.

Fantastic experience: The Next Street Monroe was a great experience for us. Organized and well run. The final driving test was managed efficiently and capably by Bob Zaums.

Fantastic experience: I just went to the Monroe Next Street to get my license and I had the best experience I could have possibly had. Bob Z was the most helpful and comforting guy to talk to before going out to take my test. He carefully gave me advice on how I can best complete the test and reassured me that I was ready and prepared to take it. Thankfully, I had passed with a perfect score, all thanks to The Next Street!

Fantastic experience: A++++++ all the way. I completed my road test at The Next Street Monroe. It was a fully booked day with 20+ learner permit-holders taking their test that day. The testing host, Al Cirigliano, ensured that the process ran smoothly - it was a well-oiled machine and very organized. Al shared relevant advice and information during check-in that was both reassuring and confidence-boosting. The test itself was quick (no more than 15 minutes) and the DMV agent was very personable and went out of his way to make sure I was comfortable, while being very fair and also giving great feedback (even during the test itself). It REALLY went a long way into making me less nervous, and I’m sure that helped me pass the test. After the test, Al shared info on how to access the DMV website and gave some final words of wisdom that every driver (old and new) should take to heart: put your phone on DO NOT DISTURB every time you get in the car!

Fantastic experience: Best driving school I've been too! I've taken classes at a different driving school program and dropped out. The instructor wasn't very great there for my classes. This program was amazing with amazing people! I'm glad they added the adult program so I could take the test as an adult. I had five different instructors because of my schedule. All five were great (Lauren Altleri, Keith Reszdy, Sarah P., Gregory C. and I forgot the name for the one who does Stratford.) Very supportive, encouraging, informative and welcoming instructors I recommend! The instructor for the Zoom meetings were also helpful! I highly recommend taking the road test in Monroe! Aced my test first try! They didn't have one in my town and Monroe was the easiest my mom said with the traffic and roads. I definitely recommend doing the mock test before the test, it was the most helpful lesson. The testing host (Al Cirigliano) and the agent who tested me that day were very kind and helped calm my nerves the day of the test by mapping out everything before hand and any questions I had, that I might've forgotten before getting in the car. Also, I didn't have to deal with the DMV on getting my license after I passed so that's a plus.

Fantastic experience: Overall great experience with both lessons and test

Negative experience: Both my sister and I went to this driving school with high hopes from seeing the amazing ratings. Lindsay was a very unfit instructor. Made me feel so insecure in my driving with her belittling comments, and angry tone. She made my driving anxiety even worse. Both my sister and I had to take our tests at the DMV as the next street failed us multiple times for stupid reasons. Both of us passed first time going to dmv. Do not spend over $100 more to take it at the next street, they will fail you! Save your money and pass at the dmv first try!

Negative experience: What was once an amazing driving school has gone to the dogs in 2 years. Lindsey and Mayra care more about their Starbucks order and looking at their phones than watching the students drive. Mayra tries to frighten students by making them think they back into something. Shame on you girls....

Fantastic experience: I am lucky to have Melissa Youngquist as an instructor for such an important time in my life. I know with her I will transition flawlessly into a safe driver. She is beyond dedicated and passionate to help any teenager get behind the wheel safely. You can tell she loves what she does and will always be there to answer any of her students’ questions. She knows how to bring out her students’ love for driving too. Forever will I be thankful I got to learn from such an amazing instructor!

Fantastic experience: Melissa is a very enthusiastic, and teaches the lessons creatively and cheerfully. She never shows up to class in a bad mood and shares personal incite and stories that make the classroom become more realistic and more relatable to the road making The Next Street 30 hour course seamless to complete.

Fantastic experience: So to start off I had Melissa as my instructor in class. And she made it fun even when me and one other person were the ones answering questions. She made it easy to understand and helped when I had questions. She was a great instructor and the building was nice and clean and well organized. The driving lessons were in depth and a learning experience. Again I had Melissa for 2 of them and they were great lessons. She helped me with my right turns and she taught me all of the parking. 10/10 would reccomend to other new drivers

Negative experience: Do not teach kids to drive 15 mph under the speed limit and cause a 20 car back up. They're much more likely to cause an accident by learning that's okay. It causes road rage and other drivers to try to rush around them. As an instructor you should know better. Pull over and let them pass or stay in a parking lot until you're comfortable enough to drive with the flow of traffic on the road.

Fantastic experience: The 30-Hour Driver's Ed class was not only educational, but fun. Mr. John Leslie taught the material while still making it a fun class to attend.

Fantastic experience: I took the 30 hour course with John Leslie and learned so much! They sell a very helpful workbook that perfectly aligns with the curriculum. It’s also easy to reschedule and make-up classes. The class is a small group of students, making a great learning environment. 100% recommended!

Negative experience: DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT WASTING $540 IN THI PLACE, UNLESS YOU WANT TO HAVE THE MOST STRESSFUL TIME OF YOUR LIFE. the amonut of times i have had problems with the next street is unbeliable. the service team is completly useless they force me to take another class with an instructor i had before that step on my brakes all the time and show me how to do things i already knew. after i finish all my driving classes and in class room hours and having a test date alredy. i called them to ask for my certification so i can bring to the DMV and they told me that they were classes i was marked absent which i knopw i went to. Ive had to calleD them about 5 times in the past 2 days. they always promised to call me back but they never do. NOW THANKS TO YOUR HORRIBLE SERVICE IM BEING FORCE TO CHANGE MY DRIVING TEST DATE! THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Fantastic experience: Laura was awesome at teaching and she even created special appointments for me when there weren’t any other time slots so I could finish my driving lessons. There are tons of makeup classes at many different locations and the instructors (Laura) are the best!

I had about three different instructors for the classroom as I had to reschedule a lot and Corey (Monroe) was great, always made class interesting and funny which helped me pay attention and learn the material with no problem.

Fantastic experience: I took the full Driver's Ed course at Wilton High School with Mrs. Gilmore. I would recommend this course to anyone that needs to take a Driver's Ed course. The 30 Classroom hours were comprehensive in teaching students how to drive. By using PowerPoints and movies, I felt that the teaching method was more effective in retaining knowledge than the dry discourse elsewhere. Take Next Street!

Fantastic experience: Mitch Bolinsky was my drivers ed teacher for a week in the accelerated, 30 hour, summer class. Mitch is the greatest teacher and the way he teaches is engaging and I actually remember what he teaches. His stories and the connections he makes to each topic really help to put the reality into the lesson, giving us all the "holy crap" moment. Next Street is a great place to take drivers ed, it is very flexible and designed for teen drivers.

I learned a lot from this course and would recommend anyone getting their liscense to take a next street course with John Leslie.

Positive experience: Pretty educational, my only complaint is that they have those stupid desks that are only attached to one part of the chair, and of course it's the right side. And no, i will not sit at a regular desk, because i like to slouch in the back of the room. I have a dream that one day left handed people will have an equal oppurtunity to slouch at the back of a classroom.

I love these classes and the flexibility they allow, easy rescheduling of missed classes and the 8 hours of driving time are great. Money well spent. This is very informative and helpful in teaching me to drive.

The Next Street heavily focuses on making sure the student knows the rules of the road. They really push you to make sure you succeed. Fantastic experience: A very helpful program. Sarah is able to teach material that is not always attention-grabbing in an interesting, engaging way. She enforces almost every lesson with a personal story on the subject that shows not only that she makes an effort to connect to the class, but how the material is applied to real life. The frequent partner work allows for a social aspect to a course that society has suggested to be a nuisance.

Fantastic experience: My experience with the Next Street was great! The in-class learning really prepared me to become a responsible driver. Sarah was extremely informative and I feel I learned a lot by being in her class. The teachers are very informative and I feel safer driving now than I did before. During driving lessons, they are very understanding of you being nervous and do their best to adjust their teaching to benefit you. They teach you so efficiently and I was so grateful to be able to take my test in Monroe. I was so much more comfortable driving around a familiar area instead of somewhere I didn't know. I definitely recommend the Next Street if you want your children to be safe and learn to be a responsible driver.

On the first lesson I was already learning how to parallel park. The class teaches a lot and I learned more than I would have ever known!
