Fantastic experience: Had a great experience using road to successes behind the wheel driver's license road test. Unlike the Texas DPS booking an expedited appointment, was fast, easy & not expensive ($80 for test & $30 to use their car). My testing instructor Mr. Chester was friendly, helpful & did an amazing job at calming my pretesting nerves. So if you need to do your TX behind the wheel testing, I highly recommend you give Road to Success Driving School a call! Thank yall again.

Negative experience: The owner is extremely rude and condescending. I feel like he immediately judged me and failed me on purpose because he told me to take his course. Refused to refund me. Don’t go here.

Negative experience: Avoid! We enrolled our son because, despite already having his learner's permit, we wanted him to get focused, in-person instruction. The day of the first class, the owner said our son had no reason to be there if he already had his permit. I said I wanted him in the class for the reason stated above. Our son reported that once in the class, the owner told him to not fill out the paperwork the other students were filling out on the first day, and told our son to encourage us to drop him from the class because it was "overcrowded." Apparently he had allowed too many people to book the class so the classroom was overcrowded and he wanted our son to drop out to make more room. The next day I talked to the owner and we dropped our son, and he told us we'd get a refund "less the cost of the first day of class." Out of a $370 payment, he refunded us $331--the PayPal fee plus $25.00 for the first day of class where there was no actual driving instruction and our son was told to not fill out the paperwork. When I texted him pointing that out AND that the contract stated the daily cost per class is $20.83, not $25...he ghosted us--no reply. Clearly this guy is just a money grubber--our son also said they were told that no outside food or drink was permitted, but that he sold concessions--so it has nothing to do with spills or cleanliness, it's just about making another buck from selling drinks and snacks to the students.

Fantastic experience: This was a really great school. I thought that the work was easy and that the people were really nice. Most of the work is self paced which i really liked. We learned many things like the road rules, the road signs, lane changes, the effects to alcohol and so much more. It was a really great experience.

Fantastic experience: I was able to enroll my son in this course. It had high star reviews from Google in addition to it being in the area. Mr. Chester was the gentleman that was in charge. He gave the students, as well as my son what they needed to know to pass the written test. They had many flexible hours, days during the week, as well as weekends to meet the demands of a challenging parental schedule. With two kids in multiple sports, the scheduling of events can be challenging. He was very accommodating. He allowed you to contact him during office hours via text, as well as stopping by. We were able to schedule practice driving, weeks in advance with availability of his staff as well as our availability, to give my son the best opportunity to pass the test. When we could not make an appointment, there was not a big deal. As long as we let him know in enough time, we would be able to reschedule without a loss of a slot or the financial investment. There were many hands working to make this business and facility successful from class teaching to Practice driving, as well as road tests. Even though we opted not to take the road test at the facility, due to cost, my son was well prepared for the exam. He passed the first time! I have a daughter coming of age and without a doubt she will be attending this school for driving.

Negative experience: Awful place!! The guy that owns it was extremely rude and condescending to my friend before her test! He yelled at her when he had no reason to and made her stressed. He wouldn’t even let her finish like every other school does. He has no patience and just wants money. Do not go here!

Fantastic experience: This is an amazing driving school! Both of my sisters and a cousin completed all of the process here and now I am taking classes here too. Mr. Chester teaches everything, how the car works (he shows what every part does and its function), what to do in emergencies (change a tire, look at what could possibly be wrong with the car), and he also shares some personal experiences. He is always very clear, makes his classes very interesting and easy to understand. I highly recommend it.

Negative experience: The "owmer", Bruce, is super unprofessional and not customer friendly. He is condescending and unprofessional, not to mention the cars they use are a POS (no air conditioning in the middle of summer). Do NOT recommend using this company.

Fantastic experience: Road to Success got my daughter in for her driving test right away and was very efficient and professional. My daughter liked the gentleman who tested her and said she felt more confident driving because she could tell he had confidence in her by the end of the test. We are so excited for her to get her license and are grateful that she was able to do her driving test with this company.

Negative experience: My daughter was turning sixteen in 12 hours. She gets a text they did not file thier licensing and could not provide a road test. I was very impressed when a rep from the company texted and said he would have another school text here due to the inconvenience. But they never did. At 8am on her birthday we were on the hunt for another driving school. Once at the mega garland dps, we were told of a different driving school in the parking lot. 30 min later test was complete and drivers license complete. This place is dirt. The nerve of them to text me again saying they are available to see her. Go screw up another excited teenagers birthday. We are done and will never recommend this place to anyone. So aggravating to see the tears in my daughters eyes.

Fantastic experience: I love this class. So sad it’s coming to an end. Mr. Chester is very funny and super helpful. He says stuff twice so just in case you didn’t hear it the first you can get it the second. He’s just overall a very good teacher. I would definitely send my kid here when I have one. The work is not that much, im used to having homework after regular school so it wasn’t too much but if you ask him questions he’ll definitely help you and he’s not a rude instructor. He’s super nice. 1000/10 definitely recommend sending your kid here :)

Fantastic experience: Ok this is an honest review.I originally called a few months ago and he walked me through how to do basically test online and take texas impact online due to my hectic schedule. Fast forward a few months, I set up an appointment the day before coming in. I was a bit skeptical about the zelle and cashapp payment but i understand because they are a small business and its easy. I paid for 1 lesson and test using their car. The instructor Heather was an angel and super helpful, knowledgeable and kept it fun. Mr. Chester is intimidating at first but he is a sweetheart and overall fabulous director. They offer classes and all over the walls you can see hundreds if not thousands of people they helped to get their license. Once my son is of age they will be going to Road to Success! Thank you all so much for helping me get my license and instilling confidence and best practices.

Negative experience: Very unprofessional I was treated rudely several time. I was told to cash app money before having appointment confirmed over texts. I asked the person texting me “I think I pay there right” but it was ignored then contacted several hrs later almost 10pm at night and treated rudely again over the fact I wouldn’t cash app the money as requested. This place sounds fishy, the people that text me seemed really scammy. Be careful

Fantastic experience: I took my road test here and I failed at first try but Bruce say only one comment on me that I needed to work on and telling me don’t be discouraged of what happened. After a few a weeks I came back without getting any appointment or schedule for road test I just asked again if I can have a retake for my road test and he gave me on the spot road test. Bruce will feel you comfortable by supporting you, that you can do it. At my 2nd try I passed with only 17 deductions, and he keep telling me I improved better than before. Thank you Bruce!!

Fantastic experience: I was able to get my license in a month with no prior driving experience or knowledge. I came in on my 18th birthday (end of April) in a hurry to get my license before I left for basic cadet training at the US Air Force Academy in June. All the instructors and staff here were super friendly, kind, and helpful. The owner Mr Chester, is especially nice and worked to fit my driving lessons into their schedule even though they were pretty much full.

Fantastic experience: Road to Success was a great school to go to if you’re planning on getting your permit or taking driving road test. I had learned so many things during the times i’ve came to the school. Before entering this school I knew very little about getting on the road. But after joining this class I learned lots of things and what I needed to do while I was on the road. And how I needed to act. Even though there was lots of work that needed to be done, I was able to finish everything by the deadline.

Negative experience: they had horrible customer service tried to find our about classes but they man on the phone just gave quick explanation and gave little explanation he acted like i was an unconvinced

Negative experience: TERRIBLE!!!!!!!!! SCHOOL!!! terrible experience!!!! please read reviews before you think about coming here!!!!!! My sister has been dealing w getting her license for almost 2 years.. because of covid ruining everything relating to the DMV. After waiting since AUGUST for her appointment, she had one today but was turned away because ROAD TO SUCCESS cuts corners & doesn’t double check their work!! They also scammed her out of $60 for the simple reprint of her certificate. It shouldn’t b $60 for to print out a sheet of paper.

Fantastic experience: THIS IS THE BEST DRIVING SCHOOL IN TEXAS!!! I not only loved every minute of the class but I learned so much about how to be a safe and responsible driver. My teacher Mr. Chester was so nice and always made sure that I understood what I was learning. Before I started the class I knew practically nothing about driving, I didn't even know what pedal was the break and which one is the gas, but after this class it is safe to say that I am an expert. It is a 16 day class and everyday you focus on a different topic of driving such as things like road signs, road rules, why you should never drink and drive, what to do in case of an emergency on the road, how to change a flat tire, and so many other very important things. Although the class comes with some responsibility I believe that this just prepares you for driving even more. I did this class with my friend and she if you asked her about the class she would tell you the exact same things. Another plus that I loved about the class is that I got to be hands on with my learning instead of learning online and not really comprehending anything like many people my age do now. If you you are unsure about any topic with driving I can assure you Mr. Chester or the lovely staff at Road To Success will help you out. I am so happy that I FINALLY know how to drive properly. Fantastic experience: Personally, road to success is a great driving school because they not only teach you how to drive or what to do in case of emergencies while driving , but it also opens your mind to greater things that before we might of not understood. Fantastic experience: I am a current student at this school and I have very much enjoyed my experience here. I was nervous about taking my permit test, but through this school I was thoroughly prepared. We watched videos, learning DVDs, and did projects that ultimately helped me pass my test. Furthermore, the work environment is flexible since students are able to do the work independently. At the same time, however, students learn discipline and good work ethic. The teacher is great, he is strict but fun at the same time. Overall, my time at this school was well spent!

Fantastic experience: Took this class with couple other students and mr Chester was a very good teacher. Taught drivers education in a fun and exiting way making everyone interested while tuned in to class. I think that this place is very good when it come to getting your permit and learning for drivers education because he doesn’t hold anything back from you, all the things you need to do he give you and supplies assistance. The student here are very nice and respectful of each other, the teacher is very well mannered and brings joy into the classroom, and the assignments are perfect and straight forward.

Negative experience: Came in for a drivers test and felt scammed. First he judged my car for not having good air conditioning and made me pull down all my windows which was very distracting. Kept telling me to hurry up the whole time cause he had other people waiting but there was no one else there. Then while I was driving he kept laughing and shaking his head and telling me to go faster or slower. He wouldn’t give directions until I almost passed the street then yelled at me while I was driving. When I was parking he kept saying why was my foot was on the brake after putting the car in park, picking out very small details to judge. Overall, this was a bad experience he was extremely disrespectful and would never recommend going here. Then he told my dad was a bad teacher and I should take his classes instead. I’ve been driving for 2-3 years, I don’t need classes now I know how to drive. I felt like he purposely failed me so he could make me spend more money, which I won’t. This place is a scam.

Fantastic experience: WOW. Where do I even begin? Long story short I just moved to Plano and decided to take some adult driving classes. Purchased my 4 classes online and paid up front. Immediately got a response the day after about scheduling my classes. I have never been more welcomed into a place like this. Mr. Chester is the sweetest most hilarious person you’ll ever meet. I’ve always had a fear of being behind the wheel and he completely broke it. Or June, what can I even say? She also helped me break my fear. They both would applaud me when I did something right and praise me for it. I literally walked out out of this school with a best friend and a mentor/friend. If I can give this place more than 5 stars I definitely would.

Fantastic experience: I went through the longest and most frustrating situations when dealing with the DMV, especially with all of this Covid. I googled “Road To Success Driving School” in Plano. I live in Sherman, Tx, 60 miles away. I really didn’t notice it was Plano, but after talking to Mr. Chester on the phone, I couldn’t believe how personable he was. He genuinely cared. He told me step by step what I could do. I was very frustrated when I called him, and he took all the stress out because he’s so upbeat and willing to help. This is a great place to get educated or take a road driving test. He’s got pictures on his walls of past students and I can tell that he’d be the best teacher! I just needed a driving test, and he made it happen for me today right at his closing time. I honestly can’t say enough good things about this place and to make it even better, it’s very affordable. I would highly recommend this place.

Fantastic experience: road to success is awesome! i was recommended this drivers school by a friend of mine and do not regret choosing it. class is enjoyable and we are learning drivers ed with easy to understand and very comprehensive learning material, as well as very organized work that is straight to the point about what exactly needs to be turned in to complete the drivers ed course. we also have good daily lectures/lessons. the staff are instructors are nice, and over all the class is very enjoyable and i would definitely recommend road to success to others

Fantastic experience: My daughter attended Road to Success. I could tell from the time I spent with her in the car driving, that she was being taught well and was developing good confidence when driving. I really appreciated that especially with young ones learning how to drive in a city environment. Mr Chester has responded promptly to any communication and has willingly helped us all the way to getting her provisional license, even through an error I had made in that process. Thank you Mr Chester and also other instructors who did her driving instruction.

Not only is his work ethic for us reasonable, but he also gives us fun learning videos & DVDs, great activities, and helpful information that helps me expand my knowledge of driving and being on the road. Whenever I think of driving, I’m always thinking of the powerful messages Mr. Chester taught me throughout my time, like learning to yield the right-of-way, doing preliminary checks every morning before I drive, and most of all, having a good attitude while driving. I can’t recommend this school enough to aspiring drivers. A solid 5 in my book.

Fantastic experience: I was waiting for a long time to take my road test for my driver’s license from Plano DPS because they didn’t have any opening for the next 3 to 4 months. I came to know about this place and I found out from their website that they are certified to give the road test. No long line and no waiting for months! How amazing is that! I went there and they sent me a link to my phone to complete a prerequisite video lesson on a driver’s education course. I completed the course sitting in a nearby cafe in 40 minutes. They only receive cash. I didn’t have any cash with me. The girl who works there is a generous person. She drove me to a nearby bank so that I could withdraw my money to pay for the road test. She is so kind that when I asked to show me how to parallel park she showed it to me with detailed explanation of how to parallel park to pass the test. I am grateful to these people. The guy then gave me a passing score on the the road test even though I made a few forgivable mistakes . Within 2 hours i got my certificate of the test. I took the certificate of the test that they provided me after giving me the test to the DPS and waited there even longer for my turn to come to get my driver’s license. I would recommend this place to those who don’t want to experience the rush and wait for months to take the road test from a local DPS. I love their quick service. I appreciate their help with the road test that they gave me to get my license.

Fantastic experience: Mr. Chester, Mr. Charles, and Mr. Padilla were all very helpful and professional in providing my daughter’s driving instruction, practice, and test. Convenient class hours, great communication, and a quick turnaround for her driving test! My younger daughter will be here in a year for her course as well. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: Great driving school, you have fun in class and the 2 hours each day go by quickly. 10/10 great for in class learning, you go over all the details and Mr. Chester always has a funny comment to go with whatever you’re learning about that day!

Negative experience: --[New Review 2/5]-- One reason behind this school having such high reviews is because students are rewarded for leaving a review regardless of how many stars are awarded. I believe that most students feel the need to leave a high review in case a low one effects their standing. More recently, while trying to schedule times for driving school (you can only schedule at 1-3 PM Mon to Thurs), it has been hard to schedule a lesson. My problem isn't due to COVID-19, rather how hard it is to schedule. You have to go to the school itself with your permit in order to schedule and as some others would know, regular school makes that very hard. Additionally, the teacher is inconsistent with getting back to you if you try to do it through text or call. --[Old review 4/5 stars]-- I am a current student, I have my final test tomorrow. First I guess I'll do is the pros. This class helps with tests, there is plenty of work to do to learn and not feel over worked. This class helps with time management as you have 10 test, 1 review, 1 essays, 2 summaries, and more things to turn in by the end of the 16 days. The teacher, Mr. Chester, is a jolly man would will give stories to help with remembering certain rules however, listen to him, if you don't he will kick you out of the room. On your second strike be prepared to say good bye to the school. Cons: the building is small and cramped, also some books have not been cared for. Also as with schools there are less amounts of specific resources in the classroom compared to the amount of students. Tips: make sure to bring a black pen as that is the only thing you are allowed to write with. Try not to miss class, this will only decrease the time you have to make up work. Stay on top of the game, if you fall behind, you may fail the class. And last thing, enjoy the class but don't talk when Mr. Chester is. This score is based on one star each for experience, teacher, classmates(might be a bit biased), and discount on tests. However this school losses the opportunity for the final star due to the smallish room and lack of materials. I hope this helps. :)

Fantastic experience: Mr.Chester is an amazing instructor. He lectures us about how important responsible driving is. He makes sure we know how important not drinking and driving is and spends lots of time teaching us the proper way to drive and be a good driver. I am really glad I had gone to this school, as it is one of the best in the area.
