911 Driving School of Spokane: Reviews
Fantastic experience: I took my test using Bandle (which is 40 mins warm up and 20 mins test). Mike was the one who helped me and tested me. He was AWESOME!! He taught me parallel parking so quick. I am so happy with the bandle package.
Thank you Claire. I'm glad it worked so well for you.
Fantastic experience: great driving school, it was nice to take the exam here especially the driving test, thanks Mike)
Thank you so much. I will make sure Mike gets this.
Fantastic experience: I'm happy thank you Mike !
Thank you Yaroslav. I'll make sure Mike see's this.
Fantastic experience: The extra drive time before the test was really helpful
People love that service. It's great just to get a quick refresher. I'm glad it worked so well for you.
Fantastic experience: These guys are great! Both my older kids have been through the course and I'm very impressed! I would highly recommend 911 Driving School.
Thank you so much Randi.
Fantastic experience: Driving instructor John was great and I highly recommend paying for the bundle if you're able to pay the extra amount. Super helpful in being successful for the test!
That's awesome. Glad it worked so well.
Fantastic experience: Mike was amazing he helped my daughter go from a 70 on her drive test to a 96 with the bundle drive! Awesome job!!
That is awesome Chris. What an improvement. Congrats to your daughter.
Fantastic experience: I taught my family member for about a year and I needed someone else to do the finishing work. Most of the time people (learners) need to hear certain guidance / things from an Unbiased and Neutral instructor who’s not family. We paid for the package 40 minutes of instruction and then the test after. Totally worth every penny, highly recommend to get your loved one over the finish line safe and sound.
Thank you so much Joe. This is so true. I was a swim instructor and taught hundreds of kids. But when it came time for my own kids to learn, it worked a lot better having someone else who is, as you say, unbiased. I am so glad it was so successful.
Fantastic experience: I would like to appreciate The person who was serving me much appreciate
That was Mike. I’ll make sure he knows. I appreciate your business.
Fantastic experience: Started classes here when I was maybe 15-16, I was always very nervous during tests and drives, but the instructors and teachers always made the situation feel calmer Whoever was my examiner for my drivers test was also really cool, never any problems here, this was around 5 years ago
Thank you so much BC.
Fantastic experience: My son who is 26 years old went in for his classes, the woman at the desk was very rude and talked down to him like a child because he misread the email in regards to getting a learner’ s permit. He just talked to Tina and she worked with him and he is going to work something out so he can get his drivers license. Tina did an excellent job and was very pleasant. Thank you!
So glad it worked out. I’ll look into the front desk situation. Thank you.
Negative experience: got talked to and treated like a child I am not coming back
OK
Fantastic experience: Very very cool driving school. The people the class everything was very nice!! I believe the gentlemans name was John. He was a great driving instructor!
Thank you so much Devin. I will let John know.
Negative experience: good teaching is done but please don’t hire teenagers who are rude at the front desk next time. I think if you’re going to have a job, you should do it and not be rude to the people who go there (which gets you your money since you work there). Was patient and waiting silently and she was in a bad mood but don’t take it out on your customers.
Sorry about that. 100% correct. I haven’t received any other complaints of this nature about her. In fact the opposite. But all it takes is one time. I will definitely look into it. Thank you for heads up.
Fantastic experience: I would like to thank the 911 driving school in spokane especially the one at Ash. Let me thank instractors and especially instructor Mike he is professional does his work so good.Thank you Mike and all 911 instructors are the best .
Thank you so much Irene. I will be sure Mike see's this.
Fantastic experience: The most best place for learning driving lessons by professional teachers and very kind staff. I like it very much
Thank you so much for the kind words.
Fantastic experience: The driving instructors were very kind and patient at first I was nervous but the instructor made me feel safe and calm.
Thank you so much.
Fantastic experience: Went here with my brothers, we all learned a lot and the instructors were clear, precise, and very good at making us feel relaxed. The staff was helpful and friendly, they did a good job making us feel at home. I would definitely recommend this place to parents and other teens learning to drive!
Thank you so much Jadyn.
Fantastic experience: Worth every penny. I paid for the bundle to have a 40 minute instructional drive and then take the test and it was the best decision I made. I was with I believe John and I learned more in those 40 minutes than I did practicing with my parents for two years, he was excellent and incredibly fair! I will definitely be referring my friends here.
That's awesome Jack. This is a very popular service. I am so glad it worked so well for you.
Fantastic experience: Great place to take both your written and road exam. All of the staff and instructors are very respectful. Instructor John was professional, efficient, and took the time to explain everything throughly. Highly recommend!
Thank you Ryan. I will be sure to pass this on to the front desk and John. We appreciate your business.
Fantastic experience: Mike mcquire is a great instructor, he really helped boost my confidence especially because I was afraid of the high way drive and just driving in general. Thank you
You are very welcome Savanna. I will be sure to pass this on to Mike.
Fantastic experience: I did the 45 minutes of drive time and the drive test. The instructor was awesome and helped a lot. The drive test was very non stressful and straight forward
Thank you so much Randy. We are so glad we could be of help and this went so smoothly.
Fantastic experience: As someone who had a driving hiatus while living abroad for 15 years, the thought of retaking both knowledge and driving tests was daunting. 911 Driving School came to my rescue, providing a seamless and organized experience from the get-go. The knowledge test was efficiently handled in a group setting, offering immediate results which eased a lot of my anxiety. After securing my permit and some practice, I opted for their driving bundle—what a game-changer! The package included the use of the school's car and a 40-minute instructional session with Mike, my instructor, followed by a 15-minute drive test. Mike was an exceptional instructor, not only boosting my confidence but also imparting practical safety tips that were useful both for the test and my ongoing driving in general. His assistance with parallel parking was invaluable in helping me pass the test. The entire process was smooth, with my results promptly communicated to the DOL, allowing me to get my driver's license without a hitch. The front desk staff were also wonderful, contributing to a positive atmosphere with their politeness and great sense of humor. I highly recommend 911 Driving School to anyone looking to learn to drive in a supportive, professional, and friendly environment. Thank you, Mike and the 911 Driving School team, for making this experience a lot less stressful and a lot more successful!
Thank you so much Shannon. Happy to get you eased back into the driving arena. Congrats on passing the tests.
Fantastic experience: This was a wonderful experience ,i highly recommend this facility, especially at 38yrs old having to take a written and driving test was something I was very nervous about since I was 16yrs old the last time I learned all the laws and tested on after taking a 6mo course in high school. The staff was very polite and helpful directing me to the correct literature to study for my written test and gave me answers to my questions to the best of their abilities without violating their own policies. With their suggestions of how to study I passed the written with a 94%. They were extremely helpful in scheduling me an appointment at the front desk especially Stacy (who has the best energy) knew I was nervous and would be taking my driving test after a three week vacation and had suggested I take a few days to rest instead of me trying to schedule the day after I got back. That showed me compassion and confidence that someone could understand that this process can make even the best driver not have the best outcome. I am extremely grateful because when i returned from my trip I was exhausted and it gave me a few day to read over the information the front desk had sent to my email preparing me for the driving test. Again I felt very informed with what was going to be expected of me and the driving instructor Mike B. was very kind in answering my questions before the test started and very clear about if I was confused I could ask questions to clarify the directions but could not answer any questions about driving knowledge once we started the test. I felt very comfortable during the test and I passed with an 88% which Stacy said was above average and I should be proud. Being greeted with such positive energy and provided with the correct materials by the staff made this experience worth writing a review because I would want anyone in my shoes to have the best opportunity to get through this process as smoothly and anxiety free as possible. Thank you from a very happy valid driver:)
Wow Ashley. Thank you so much for taking the time to write all this. As the owner I hear this coming from my staff everyday. But to have a customer spell it out in such great detail is so very appreciated. Thank you so much.
Fantastic experience: Purchased a 60 min bundle. (40 min driving lesson and 20 min actual driving exam ). Amazing driving lesson experience with Sir Mike B. Great instructor. Professional staff overall.
Thank you so much Jonathan. I am so glad it was so successful.
Fantastic experience: I’m finished this school. It’s very good school for students. Instructors very good and helping. Thank you for my study)
You are so welcome Artem. It was our pleasure helping you. Glad it was so successful.
Fantastic experience: Mike you really did a fantastic job even though my English was not well . But you know how to deal with that . The main lady on the receiption was so rude . The second lady on the reception with googles is so sweet.
Thank you Pankaj. I will make sure Mike sees this.
Fantastic experience: My kids and I can’t say enough good things about the amazing team @ 911 Driving School (Spokane on Ash). Ever since the moment we first stepped foot into the lobby, to the last day of their school, the staff have all been so professional, kind, accommodating, knowledgeable, etc., etc. To have 3 kids entering into Driving School all at one time was a daunting task with all sorts of unknowns and wondering how we were going to make this work with commuting from out in the Valley every day. Tina & Stacy immediately took us under their wings on Parent’s night and got us all set up, making it as convenient for our circumstances as possible. We are far from the only/first/last that they’ve bent over backwards for. I would sit in the lobby every class day for my kids to finish and I witnessed time and time again how amazing ALL the front of house staff were/are with calls/walk ins, etc. Ed is an amazing teacher. (The kids adored him!) The driving instructors are incredible! They all want what we want for the kids. To be smart safe drivers. For the proper foundation to be laid so it stays with them for their life. Again thank you to ALL of you @ 911 Spokane school for all the new drivers you help create to make driving on our roads safer and AJ for keeping such an amazing staff on board!
Thank you so much Jessica. I will be sure to pass this on to all the staff. We appreciate your trust in us.
Fantastic experience: Daughter learned a lot. It was helpful to learn from first responders. They did a good job enforcing classroom rules to prevent distractions. They communicated quickly and clearly about scheduled drives.
Thank you Amber. We do try and go above and beyond teaching students, nit just how to operate a car, but how to do it safely.
Fantastic experience: My daughter went to this school and what a n amazing experience.. The school is ran and operated by retired first responders so I personally think that is awesome. My daughter loved it here, shes a smart kid and always works hard at what she does. She really liked her teachers. she said they all where very knowledgeable and made the class not only easy to follow but enjoyable as well. I would highly recommend this school for all ages as well..Thanks 911 for doing a great job at molding Neveia into a responsible and safe driver.
Thank you so much Ciro. I am so glad it was such an enjoyable experience.
Fantastic experience: Had a great drive test instructor who was calm polite and great at going over things to know. Only complaint would be when doing the knowledge test you can't learn what answers you got wrong afterwords makes it hard to know where you messed up
Thank you so much Erik. I will pass this on to David. Regarding the knowledge test and not knowing the questions you got wrong, I agree 100%. As instructors it is so important for people to learn where they made mistakes in order to improve. This is actually a state law, not ours. We have gone toe to toe with the state trying to explain this. I have never received a satisfactory answer as to why we can't let people know this. Rest assured I will continue to fight to change this policy at the state level. I appreciate your feedback.
Fantastic experience: We used 911 driving school and “John” was for the most part our instructor. He was awesome and so was 911 with our son who has Asperger‘s. Our son took an extra year of private lessons from John, and I cannot begin to describe how helpful patient and accommodating 911 and John Stacey and the entire staff were for us during that time. Our son has learned to drive safely and carefully and it’s all thanks to John at 911. When he finally took his driving test and passed it was like a little party there and everybody was so amazing. We felt like the whole 911 crew had become our friends by the time we were finished. God bless you all at 911 Barbie and Aden Gerkensmeyer
Thank you so much Barbie. I will definitely pass this on to John. It was such a pleasure working with a family so involved their sons success. Thank you for being amazing parents.
Negative experience: If you can go with someone else you should you’ll have a much better experience. The receptionist are very rude and when trying to give feedback they get upset no matter how calmly you speak, and if you read the reviews the owner isn’t very at receiving feedback either it’s to bad they have such a hard time at 911 driving school accepting anything other than praise. I did however find a much better driving school where they are friendly and much more welcoming and the cost to take either test cost less I saved $25 on my skills test just by going with a different company who makes me feel welcome from the very first conversation In reply: as I said you guys are bad about taking feed back and now you are making things up your trying to address me about a review for another company in a situation you were not privy to, I did come in there and flop on the desk maybe you should look the word up and while you’re at a few others you obviously can’t spell. Yes I did have my child with me and I had her sit in the lobby not once did I ever ask anyone to keep an eye on them. When I called about parking not once did I raise my voice, nor was I upset like I told your receptionist it was feedback that they could do with as they wish, and when she gave me my options to park across the street or further away neither was an option because of medical reasons which I expressed. I don’t get yelled at a lot I never said the receptionist yelled at me I said she was rude and she was, she was also rude when my eldest son went there. I understand you want to make out to be angry and unreasonable, however your response shows that is more your personality than mine. You keep trying to bring up three kids like that’s an issue, you also keep trying to lie and say that I brought 3 kids with me when I never even came for my driving test there was no need to, however what I said about having more kids had absolutely nothing to do with parking. Nor was I bringing any kids with me to my driving test. What I said, if you’re going to try and quote me is “I have two other kids who are ready for driving school and I wouldn’t be bringing them there because of your staff”. It’s also very sad that you would make fun of me for using one of your company vehicles to do the driving test, you do a lot of assuming but fail to actually ask why a person would use one of your vehicles. I also was not surprised by the childish way you responded. I really do hope you one day learn how to take feedback that isn’t just praise. You also seem to be under the impression that I would want to come back there, I wouldn’t return or frequent your business if I was paid to. I really do hope people read your response and take heed to using your business knowing what kind of person owns the business. Especially doing things like releasing my legal first and last name to the public without my consent, that in itself speaks volumes about your professionalism. Even if people don’t heed my warning I truly hope they heed the warning signs that exude from the type of behavior you so shamelessly display. Thank you so very much for showing me the type of person I never want to be. I hope you get the help you appear to need and stop being so angry.
On the contrary Keyana Key (I mean, if you are going to right a bunch of one star reviews, at least have the conviction to use your actual name), I do love feedback. We give evals to all our students at the end of class and I continually update my bi-yearly training for staff. The thing about feedback is that needs to have value. Nothing you said to my front desk staff, or in the review has any value. Looking at your previous reviews it seem like you and/or your children get "yelled" at a lot. While I seriously doubt you actually get yelled at, it would seem you have history of not respecting businesses. My favorite is the Double Eagle Pawn were you claim they sold you a broken TV, when in fact it was fine when you bought it and insisted they load the 55" TV on your children's laps while you drove home. Keeping mind that you came to us because you don't have a license and most likely no insurance. LOL! When you first came to us you walked in and "flopped" across the front desk while our receptionist was trying to help another client. She had to ask you to step back while finishing. When you took the knowledge test you left a child completely unattended in the lobby. Didn't ask and didn't think that we are not a daycare service. When you exited the KT you asked loudly if your child behaved...Repeatedly. Again our receptionist had to ask you to hold on while she finished with a client. Then when coming in for you drive test you called because the parking lot was busy and didn't know where to park. (I mean seriously??) The receptionist gave a number of options. You were upset because you didn't want to walk and now had 3 children. When you didn't like her answer, you asked to talk to the manager. When you got the same response you became upset. Hardly considered "calm". In fact anything but. The manager was kind enough to give you a refund. Something I would have absolutely NOT done. You came to drive test unprepared to find a spot and get to your appointment in time, you brought 3 children and was planning on doing what exactly? Having us babysit them. Then got upset because we couldn't fix the busy parking lot problem. Seriously Keyana. Then you had the nerve to give us a 1 star. I am glad you found another place to go, because you are not welcome back. Anyone who has that level of disrespect for a business is absolutely not welcome. Update response: It was from your own reviews that stated you get yelled at. I did look at both your complaint and the owners response for Double Eagle Pawn, and yes it was similar to ours. And yes, I was privy to the transaction, everyone was. That's how reviews work. You caused the problem, but put the blame on the business. I never made of fun of you for using our car (complete lie). People use our car all the time. You seem to have a habit of twisting the truth. The claim you were calm, again, complete lie. You were upset that your only options were to park far away and you had 3 kids in tow. To expect anyone now to believe you didn't have kids with you is absurd. You were upset about the parking and at no time did your kids future traffic safety training come up. You also seem to be under the impression that you had an option to come back to us or not. You did not have that option. When you disrespect and are rude to my staff, interupt the business and other clients, and don't even have the responsibility to find a parking spot on your own and expect us to do something about it, you are banned. End of story. I wish you had the reviews prior to you coming here and we could have avoided all this. We get multiple people a week that make comments that they chose us specifically because of my responses. 99% want a service that is reasonable and helpful and isn't afraid to eliminate clients that are disruptive to other people. And to again clarify, I welcome feedback, as long as it has value. Thank you for proving my point.
Fantastic experience: These guys are amazing! They truly care about our kids! The instructors and office staff are GREAT! Thank you for all you do!!
Thank you so much Jessica. Your students were so much fun to have in class.
Fantastic experience: Great lessons. Friendly staff. Loved it so much. Learned so much. If and when I have kids, I will use them if they are near me.
Thank you so much Michael.
Fantastic experience: I highly recommend 911 Driving School. My teenage daughter feels more confident on the road because of the thorough education she received from the instructors. She passed her test on the first try. The front desk was always very friendly and helpful. The instructors were very kind and patient with the students. My daughter was not afraid to ask questions and the answers were clear and concise. Worth every penny!
Thank you so much fr that feedback Robin. I am so glad this was such a positive experience.
Fantastic experience: I highly recommend 911 Driving School for anyone who wants to learn the basics of driving and road safety. The instructors are friendly, knowledgeable, and patient in providing guidance and advice. The lessons are interactive and engaging, making the whole learning process more enjoyable and effective. It's also worth noting that the contact is easy to access and respond quickly if you have any questions or concerns. Overall, it's a great place to learn how to drive properly and safely.
Thank you so much for the kind words Jadyn.
Fantastic experience: This is hands down the best driving school in town! Very helpful instruction is given, and great class schedules available. They made all of the paperwork and dealing with the dmv super easy! We will be back with our next kiddo when the time comes!
Thanks so much Candie. Looking forward to your return.
Fantastic experience: Eh took and bundle forward by a test and passed the test! The instructor called Mike Bennette. He Was truly helpful and he made sure to walk me through the test during the bundle even with the smallest details and corrected any mistakes I made and made sure I learned the proper way! Truly helpful thanks
Thank you so much Moise. These bundles are very helpful, especially if you have the basics down, but not a lot of experience. I will be sure to pass this on to Mike.
Positive experience: I like to take my road test here the front desk people are very friendly and kind .my first instructor was very kind and explained what things I fail for .Today I went for my second road test and my second instructor was very rude and he yelled at me …it okay to correct people for mistakes but it not okay to yelled …I hope my first instructor will be my instructor again for my road test next time
Hi Tinataake, I appreciate the kind words about the front desk and the first examiner. I want to stress that our instructors and examiners don't "yell" at people. However, if the client is doing something dangerous, or repeatedly doing something wrong that could be dangerous, they will, understandably, communicate in a firm manner. This is done to keep everyone safe and should be taken in the manner in which it's intended. The other thing to always keep in mind is that everyone, instructors, examiners, and clients all have different personalities. If we ever have a client that has a personality conflict with a certain instructor or examiner we will always do what we can to provide a different staff member. Please make sure you are mentioning this to the front desk staff and they will be more than happy to do what they can to accommodate your request.
Fantastic experience: I am a senior citizen and had a driving evaluation by instructor Michael Bennette. He was extremely informative, professional, and made me feel at ease. He answered all of my questions and provided valuable driving tips. I would highly recommend him to anyone!!!
Thank you so much Janet. I am so pleased this went well. Mike has been with us for several years and has a true passion and commitment to the community. I will be sure to pass this on to him.
Fantastic experience: Fantastic driving school. From the front desk to the instructors, you can tell they care and are invested in helping people succeed and become safe drivers. Enrolling in a class on the website is easy and being able to access the schedule from the student portal is helpful. As a busy working Mom, I really appreciate that they stick to scheduled appointment times. At 911 Driving School you don't have to worry about having an appointment only to have to wait because the people before you couldn't manage to arrive on time (I wish doctors' offices could run as efficiently). I highly recommend this school! Thank you for teaching my son in a way that was safe and enjoyable. God bless.
Thank you Savie. We work very hard at bringing great customer service. I am so glad your experience was so pleasant.
Fantastic experience: Wonderful experience with expert drivers. If your kid is a nervous driver, is concerned about driving on the freeway, or is in anyway stressed about driving, I recommend 911 Driving School. They have a team of expert drivers that just know how to convert a skittish 1st time driver into confident, controlled, and ethical road user. Thank you 911 Driving School. Our family had an amazing experience with your team.
Thank you Roisin. Very nice compliment .
Negative experience: Rating low because they never want to answer there phones and it's incredibly frustrating.
Sorry Amanda. The phones ring nonstop all day. We typically start the day with at least 30 messages and close to 30 emails. If you left a voicemail that call is returned the same day. Voicemails left after 6pm are returned the next morning.
Fantastic experience: Easy to schedule drives and sign up for tests. Staff was always friendly and helpful!
Thank you so much Angela. I will pass this along to staff.
Negative experience: If I could I would rate a zero out of ten stars. Most unprofessional staff and multiple 1 star ratings and owner always has an explanation or excuse of why they are not at fault.
Hi "Trina". Looked up your account and it doesn't exist. You were not a customer of ours, at least not under this name. A couple of things. First, yes, I give explanations about any complaints so that anyone reading this can see what happened in context and then make a decision for themselves. Second, we have been voted best driving school 3 years in a row. Third, most of our negative reviews are based on people not passing a test. Not on anything we did. The few that aren't, I do apologize and make it right. We aren't above making mistakes, but if we do we always make it right. We actually have 100's of great reviews and very few negative ones. Forth, if I had to guess, this is actually Christina Rogers again who has been harassing our business since July of 2020. Especially since this seems to be a brand new made up account and there are the same phrases in both. Nice try Christina.
Negative experience: Took a drive test with them a few years ago and when I gave negative feedback was threatened with the cops. Never will recommend them to anyone 0 out of 10 stars
Christina Rogers as I live and breathe. Did you think I would forget who you are. This was actually back in July of 2020. I remember because Christina here was easily in the top 1% of the most volatile and unhinged people I have ever had to deal with. Keeping in mind I was a cop for 20 years. I would hope that most people reading her review would know there is more to the story. Let me put some context to it. She failed her test. Not by a little, but a lot. She became demanding with the examiner to change the score to passing. Which is illegal. She began cussing out the examiner so loud that people inside the building could hear her. Then went into the business and made a scene in there. First demanding we change the test to passing. When they obviously told her no, she demanded another test free of charge. Again she was told no. At which point she went into rage. The front desk told her to leave and she would need to find a drive test somewhere else. She refused to leave and then the front desk said they were calling the cops. At this point she had committed the crimes of Disorderly Conduct and Trespassing. She left and then gave us a 1 star review. So this is the second one she has given us....under her real name. Then proceeded to continue to harass the business with fake name reviews and non stop emails and phone calls, which is Criminal harassment. At this point I didn't just threaten to call the cops, I did and made a report. Not to have her arrested, but to make sure there was a paper trail as to her behavior. At this point the harassing stopped. I assumed she was either locked up in jail, a mental institution, or a doctor figured out her meds. There will be a supplemental report being made since she started back up again. She doesn't seem to realize that social media, including reviews are checked in background checks. By employers, sometimes people you date, and for sure with any type of security positions. And if anyone comes to me and asks about this, believe me I will be giving Christina a 1 out of 10 stars. If anyone she knows is like her, please for the love of God, take her advice and find somewhere else to go. We have a no tolerance policy for this kind of behavior.
Negative experience: I didn't personally have an issue other than missing by one point, but as an adult taking his test later in life - I was quietly waiting to take my test with the class and it was so obvious and noticeable the instructor could care less to be there. He was rude and was passive aggressive and isn't somebody I would want my teenager to be taught by. He was not encouraging to these students who are taking their tests for the first time, just negative and it was disappointing to witness. Atmosphere impacts how you test. So I reschedule at B&B driving and passed and was pleased with their instructors vs this business.
Sorry you had that impression Julian. I can see on your account when you took the test. I checked in with the examiner. This was back on 8/4/23, a month and half ago. The examiner happened to be newer. He did apologize for giving you that impression. He explained that he was concentrating on doing a good job since this is highly audited by the state he didn't want t make any mistakes. He also reminded me he had an emergence hernia surgery about a week prior and was still feeling it. But regardless, he did feel bad that you had that impression. I looked at the results and was at least happy to see that out of a full 25 people that took the test, only 3 failed and all were within 1-3 questions. We typically have a pretty successful pass rate (85% or higher of all clients that take the test pass it). Glad you were able to pass it the second time. I appreciate you bringing this to my attention.
Negative experience: I know for a fact my parents didn't pay $650 for my instructor to ramble on the whole entire class, not let us out on time, and not even finish the slideshows. I've missed so much writing because MY instructor was behind time and just couldn't allow us enough time to write down the important information because he can't stop telling us stories. All my instructor does is brag about his days in law enforcement, and we really don't care we just want to learn and not listen about the time you arrested some guy. I'm not trying to be mean, but I wanted to learn as much as I could in this class, and quite frankly, I couldn't. So many of my notes are scratched off because my instructor kept switching the slides even though the whole class would complain on how they didn't get to write everything down. My permit says X, the instructors all kept referring to me as a girl. Not to mention, the instructor clearly shows a favoritism of men. Im beyond disappointed in my experience, I wish I could've learned more, and its not my fault I didn't.The bathrooms don't lock sometimes. Real nice. I failed my knowledge test and my instructor thought it'd be real funny to tell a story about it, and make fun of me for it, even though I missed ONE question and already felt extremely bad about it, he continued to press and make it worse. I know for a fact I write a lot faster than most people, and still I myself couldn't get everything down fast enough. I'm an amazing student and I can tell you, this is NOT my fault. I'm just really disappointed on everything I had to miss out on, and now I can't get the time he took from us back. OH P.S: my instructor frequently makes fun of black people.
Hi Eros. I appreciate the feedback on this. Especially the first part. Since this is a fake name, I would really appreciate an email letting us know who you are so I know which classroom instructor you had (we have 5). The cost is actually $625, but I get it. If you selected 911 Driving school, it is usually because our instructors are 1st responders. They do often tell real life stories to help drive home certain lessons. It’s part of our curriculum. Contrary to what you said, our students and parents do care that this is part of lessons. That being said, there is a technique to it so that students still get all the notes needed and, you are right, it is very important. I did see that on some evaluations that students wrote that it was hard to get all the notes and this will absolutely be addressed to all instructors during our next continuing ed. So, I greatly appreciate you helping me make this a better experience for all and rest assured I am already working on this issue. I really wish you had left it at that because this is something I want to work on. Once you get past that part of your review, however, it devolves into misleading and out right false statements. I don't understand the permit being "X" but instructors referring to you as a girl?? Are you saying you are a boy and didn't correct them? Or are you a girl and they referred to you accurately but you somehow expected instructors to guess you wanted to identify as something else? That is NOT on the instructor. I suspect, and I hope I’m wrong, that this is some type of gender identity political stand you are making. We will not engage in political issues. Ultimately, this makes no sense how this falls on us. Our bathroom door locks work fine when used. But students (and adults) will forget to lock them. This is why we have signs in the bathroom to remind folks to lock them. The knowledge test is done after class is completed, so the instructor would not have been able to refer to it in your class. If you are talking about the final test, you would not fail by missing 1 question. You would have missed more than 10. And yes, they do go over commonly missed questions by the whole class, not one individual. So, if you took that personal it was a misinterpretation on your part. They would never call out an individual student. But this is done for the benefit of all students so that they can be better prepared for the actual knowledge test. If identifying a commonly missed question by the whole class hurt your feelings because you also missed it, then I’m sorry it did, but ultimately this is for the benefit of the whole class and you should realize that. And the last line is a completely false statement. I listen to all lessons by all instructors. At no point does any instructor make fun of any one individual, let alone any class of people. I hope you learn for situations in the future, that if you have a legit concern address that concern and don’t add false or exaggerated issues. That only diminishes the true and real concern. As to your real concern, as said prior, I am aware and will absolutely be working with staff to improve that while continuing to keep the real-life stories that bring these lessons home. I sincerely appreciate your concern in that area.
Fantastic experience: Took my test with them and passed Mike is a great instructor he is patient with you and makes you feel comfortable and relaxed....Thank you Mike and the receiponist is a great person...Thank you
Thank you Faith. Appreciate you choosing 911 Driving School.
Fantastic experience: Great people friendly staff fast and courteous
Thank you so much Robert.
Negative experience: My son tried twice. Both times there was a scolding to him on how he drove. Quite literally like he was a elementary student in need of discipline. both instructors clearly treated him with no respect as a person. Actually both times were very close to passing. These instructors clearly have the wrong mentality for this. I hear the deer park people are respectful. We will try there.
Hi Jason, Maybe you don't quite understand how this works. Plus there were a couple of details left out that should also be pointed out. First, your son is 26 years old, not a teenager. Not that this would matter. Because second, all clients are given a run down of how they performed on the test. We have to do that by law. Even if it wasn't the law, we would still do that to help clients understand exactly where they got point deductions from so that they can do better the next time. Some 96% of clients that fail the first time, pass on the retest. (92% of clients pass on the first attempt).Third, this is all explained in the car at the end of the test with just the client and the examiner. So you didn't hear any of this. Which means you were told this by your 26 year old son who clearly didn't take the advise ind info in the nature it was intended. The critique is not a scolding. It is a "mater of fact" this where the test went wrong and what needs to be done to pass the next time. Forth, unlike Deer Park which just opened, we have been in business since 2006 and have been doing drive tests since it's inception in 2012. Our examiners are highly trained and capable. Not to mention we have received the top driving school in Spokane award for the last 3 years. That would not happen if we were "scolding clients like they were in elementary school". It sounds like you are more upset by the fact that your son couldn't pass a basic drive test in two attempts. If he hasn't had proper instruction by a capable driver, then this shouldn't be a surprise. Now, I am sorry that your 26 year old son got his feelings hurt. But accepting corrective criticism is part of being an adult. Perhaps finding him a qualified person to help him learn how to drive would help since pointing out the deductions didn't do the trick. Good luck with whatever pursuit you wish to proceed with. We do wish him the best.
Negative experience: Such an expensive school, for instructors to make rude and passive aggressive statements to students in the class and on drives. People learn at different paces, yet instructors expect perfection out of beginners and when such high standards aren’t met, that gives instructors to push the power of their position to bring students down. Language like this doesn’t inspire confidence in driving but detours, scares, and humiliates people who are trying their best to help fit into society.
Hi James, all students are pushed to be the best drivers. When a student doesn’t do things correctly instructors explain exactly what they need to do to get better. It’s called corrective criticism. And it’s how all of us get better. These instructors have seen the devastation of poor driving. The serious injuries, fatalities, and what these do to families and the community. So yes, they will push you to be the best you can. No one is expecting perfection. But they are expecting progress. It’s a shame you couldn’t see that this is what they were doing. You will, no doubt encounter this throughout your lifetime. School, jobs, and relationships. This is how society operates. Good luck to you and I hope you take these lessons in the manner they were intended.
Fantastic experience: The lady with the multi colored hair is the nicest most pleasant helpful person in existence. She went above and beyond what she's required to do and she JUST DID IT. It was really really impressive. 1 person like that in every store world wide would make life soooooooo much better.
Wow Glenn. That is so nice of you to acknowledge. I will definitely make sure she gets this. Thank you.
Fantastic experience: IMHO, it's the best driving school in the Spokane area. They are very professional and I'd definitely recommend them over the *&* driving school. Unrelated to 911 experience: I developed a bad impression of the double 2nd letter of the alphabet place when their examiner showed up late for test day which left people standing outside waiting for it to open. When administering the written exam, the examiner left a lot to be desired in terms of professionalism. Based on that experience —how badly the written exam was handled — I decided to never take any of my children back to that place ever again.
Thank you Keith. Very nice of you to say. Thank you for your comment.
Negative experience: WOULD NOT RECOMMEND - My son was scheduled for an in-car practice drive after class. The instructor somehow managed to take a car full of the wrong students and left my son behind at the office. Instead of figuring out what happened, the office staff simply decided it was my son's fault for not being in the right place and missing the instructor, when it was never his fault at all. Over and over again, they lied about their error and blamed my son while he sat there for an hour and a half waiting for instruction he never received. Someone called the next day to "try to make it right" and when I asked how, there was no answer. They were happy to blame an innocent kid for their mistakes.
As the owner I would personally like to apologize for this incident. I am very aware of this because it hadn’t happened before. I would like to point out that your son wasn't blamed for this. He was a very small part of the "perfect storm" that allowed this to happen. The fact that your son wasn’t in the right place was a very small part of the problem. The bigger issues were a fairly new front desk staff still learning their roles, an incredibly busy new class that was starting that night, and the fact that procedures weren't followed by two staff members that was in place to assure this wouldn't happen. The lions share absolutely falls on us. None of the explanation was meant to imply that this was your sons fault. We completely take responsibility for this. I instructed the staff to offer a free drive test and it was offered. You responded that it didn’t matter, you were just going to leave a bad review. We very rarely make mistakes. But when we do, we try and make it right. I am sorry that this single incident clouded the entire experience with us. Again, my apologies.
Negative experience: My fiance took his test today and it was horrible. He did his best and yes it is okay to fail people. However, yelling and telling the tester to and I quote, “Shut up.” Is not okay. As soon as we walked in he seemed in a mood. He yelled multiple times and when he came back he left my fiance in the vehicle while his mom and I were waiting outside for the instructor. The instructor pulled the door open very aggressively and looked and turned to us and said, “He failed. He's back there. He needs to work on this and this.” I understand being stressed, I understand that he messed up on a few things however at no point was it necessary to be verbally abusive. I have seen several horrible reviews about one instructor. I tested here and my test went great my instructor was lovely and made me feel comfortable and I always had positive things to say about this place. I don't agree with what happened and we will be seeing if we can get a non verbally abusive instructor or someone else to test him. Or rather go to another testing facility.
Hi Ali, I responded and was doing some checking and now my response is gone. Not sure what happened. I did check with everyone who was working and no one remembers anything like what you described. In fact there were only a couple of fails and everyone was pleasant. Are you sure you went to 911 Driving school in Spokane? If so, please email us with more details so I can look into this (clients name, date and time, examiner if you know his name). I would like to research this further. If you did go to this school I appreciate the fact that you do recognize that people do fail and it is not the examiners fault. Also I appreciate the kind words about your experience. We typically try to have any client that doesn't pass do their next test with another examiner whenever possible. It is more likely to achieve this when the clients schedule is a little flexible and can come on a different day of the week. If you realize you made mistake then please remove this review. Thanks Ali.
Fantastic experience: Хорошее обслуживание ☺
Thank you so much.
Positive experience: A little on the pricier side but they made me feel comfortable and welcomed. Dave was a great drive instructor. He made all the directions clear and concise and at no point did I feel uncomfortable in the car with him. My anxiety was riding a little high before the test because I got tricked at All Seasons in the Valley. But as soon as I met Dave, all of that went away. I highly recommend 911.
Thank you so much Anthony.
Fantastic experience: 911 Driving School is the best driving school out there! Loved all of my instructors and my teacher! Mr. Dean’s jokes are super funny! They explained everything great. If you would mess up they would correct you and let you try until you’ll get it right! Thank you 911 Driving School for giving me this great experience! Finally I can get my driver’s license once I hit 16! YAY! Highly recommend this driving school!
Thank you so much Jessica. I am so happy this was such a great experience.
Fantastic experience: I really liked 911 driving school, sure it was a little boring in class but any class is gonna be a little boring, the class was lightened up by most of the stories told by the instructors. I recommend this driving school
Thank you so much Aaron.
Negative experience: Do not go to this driving school. They look for any excuse they can to have you come back and pay again. The front desk fails to give information needed and the instructors lack any sort of customer service. Further, while there I witnessed them doing it to other customers using the excuse that "some need more practice than others". Do not give these people your money!!!
OK, I just found out who you are. It was your adult girlfriend that failed the knowledge test the first time and passed the second time. This is a set test by the state and it is entirely out of our control. Then she took and failed the drive test twice. Every examiner is trained by state standards on how to administer and how to score. Everyone gets the same test. We have somewhere in the ball park of a 88% pass rate for drive tests. Which she fell in the 12% of all clients. When she failed yesterday she became belligerent with staff, and then you did. Which we have a no tolerance policy towards. At that point you were both told to go to another location for testing. These aren't "any excuses". She took the test and failed. Period.
Positive experience: Great driving school, two of my kids went there. The school is great and they do a great job with the kids but avoid having your kids drive with Dave at all cost he is a horrible driving instructor and wants to do nothing more than break the children down and try to make them cry, it’s ridiculous that that guy even works there. He’s truly unhappy with his job he should probably find a different career path. My child has heard several students say that they will reschedule their drives if their drive is with Dave. All the other driving instructors are fantastic.
Hi Nunya, We have 2 Dave's. Both get good reviews. And both like working here. But if there is an issue I would like to address it. If you don't mind, can you email us at [email protected] and let me know specifically what the situation was and which Dave it was. I have a 4 hour training session for instructors coming up and would love to include this situation to better our instructors. Thank you.
Positive experience: Its a great place and a lot of the instructors are great! But on the flip side some of the instructors can be a little mean at times the classes can get a little boring at times too but really the education is good if you pay attention and would recommend this place more than any other. The parking lot is annoying tho LOL. Overall good place !
Thank you. I know the instructors can get annoyed when they have a group that won’t stop talking and being distracting to those that want to learn. I really appreciate the honest review.
Negative experience: Never picks up their phone and holds at least 500 dollars in my account and told me I was never enrolled. Pathetic.
Hi Dan, Sorry about the phones. They are non stop during the day. When the front desk opens they have 20+ messages. By the time they respond to them all, there are another 15-20 messages and so on. When calling in, ALWAYS leave a message. They will get back to you. Emailing us like you did is also a great way to get your questions answered. I am confused about the "holding $500 and not being enrolled". It is basically impossible to sign up, leave a deposit, and not be enrolled. It's my understanding that you actually signed up for a September class, and then when a sooner class opened up you signed up there too. You were signed up for both classes and the front desk worked it all out. So, not sure why the "pathetic" comment. We did in fact help you get exactly what you wanted. If there is still an issue, then by all means email us and we will get it worked out. For anyone else, please be patient with the front desk. They work incredibly hard. Like every other business we have been running short since the end of Covid, and have finally gotten to full strength with one employee still going through training. We greatly appreciate everyone's patience, as does most businesses.
Fantastic experience: 911 was very helpful, they didn't give up on you when you were getting your license, I took there advice and went with my gut on a question I didn't get. I would recommend 911 driving school more than B&B
I am so happy to hear this was such a positive experience for you.
Positive experience: It was a great experience overall. They do a great job preparing you for the Knowledge Test.
Thank you Anastasiya.
Fantastic experience: Kind teachers, fun yet knowledgeable instructors that answer all relevant questions.
I am so happy you had such a positive experience. Thank you for the kind words.
Fantastic experience: Taught me how to drive good
Thank you so much.
Fantastic experience: Love this place trainer is excellent and courses are well explained.
Thank you Ryan.
Fantastic experience: I had a wonderful experience! They are very professional and welcoming. Scheduling appointments are very easy and they make you feel comfortable. I passed my knowledge exam and got a few smiles and congratulations from staff which does mean a lot. I will most definitely schedule my driving test with them soon! Highly recommended over B&B driving school.
Thank you so much for the kind words. And yes, congrats on passing. Once of the best parts of our jobs is seeing someone succeed.
Fantastic experience: What a great program. My daughter went through the north side campus and the instructors were awesome. Both in-class in in-car, they were firm yet compassionate that really helped nervous new drivers. Most, if not all, the instructors are retired police or emergency personnel. Their experience really comes through in the training.
Thank you so much Dale. I am very happy this was such a positive experience.
Fantastic experience: I learned all I need for driving. Even aced my written knowledge test! Definitely recommend for anyone looking to learn the rules of the road
Awesome. Congrats.
Fantastic experience: Very in depth, great lessons, incredible staff, would recommend.
Thank you so much Courtney.
Fantastic experience: My daughter and son both loved going and learning from 911 driving school. Both passed on first try.
That's awesome Brenda. Glad it went so well.
Fantastic experience: We had a great experience with 911 Driving School. Excellent communication, super nice and professional staff, teachers, and driving instructors. The content was really good, and done in a way that helped my teen learn and pass the written test (included with the class). I will definitely use them again for driver's education for my youngest!
Wow! Thank you so much for the kind words Jessica. I will definitely pass this on to the staff.
Fantastic experience: super nice instructors!!
Thank you for the nice words.
Fantastic experience: Well there is so much I could say but all I can say is THANK YOU!! I am 26 years old and have never had my drivers license so I never got to understand the rules of the road or why people drive the way they do and it has just shown me to be a better, safer driver for my first time experience and everyone was AMAZING! I want to give a big thank you to everyone but Dean, Steve, Bob and Scott are the only ones I can remember right now but everyone was so nice and non judgemental and understood my situation! Thank you everyone at 911 I will be forever grateful to you and everything you have helped me! You all deserve either a raise or something to show how wonderful you all are! ❤
Thank you so much for all the kind words Miranda. I will definitely pass this on to the staff.
Fantastic experience: I went to this driving school a little over 2 years ago and have never gotten into an accident or gotten a ticket (parking or speeding). This school really emphasizes safety on the roads and the proper ways to go about things!
Thank you Lucy. And congrats on a great record.
Fantastic experience: Overall I had a very good experience with 911. Staff was friendly and informative and I was able to take my course with little issue. My main instructor was Ed, he was kind and took time to make sure everybody understood the topic he was on and taught in a laid back type of way. I do believe most of these negative reviews are angry children who didn’t pass the course due to their own fault, and just don’t want to take responsibility.
Thank you Ewan. You are exactly right.
Fantastic experience: I ended up choosing 911 driving school when came the time, and I can say with no problem that I have had no regrets in doing so! The people there where amazing and helped with absolutely everything I needed, and so where the instructors. I really enjoyed my time with them, and I’d a hundred percent recommend to anyone who’s looking for a overall great experience!! Thank you so much:)
Thank you so much for the kind words Nellie.
Fantastic experience: This is the best driving school!!!
Thank you, Artem!
Fantastic experience: So blessed I had one of the best driving instructor on Earth, Sir Steve. He answered all my questions before i started. He's super nice, very calm, and no doubt very professional. I learned a lot and felt more confident in my driving skill test. I passed, first try! :) now i got my drivers license! I'm happy :) Thank you and God bless 911 driving school
Thank you so much Rei for this feedback. Steve will love to hear this. I'll make sure I pass this on.
Negative experience: Dont ask their policies, and even if you DONT swear at them, and they "feel you're rude", theyll hang up on you and tell you go somewhere else. Confirmed I would be there at my scheduled time, and dont need to know what happens if I wasnt. Asking what their policies are, when they give you their disclaimer. You need to come to the office and they're posted on the door. Not gonna tell you on the phone. Well if you're taking my money first, answer some questions. K... No prob. Ill go somewhere else.
Mr. Muddovski, we are always happy to give testing times and explain how scheduling works. Our State testing policies are posted on our website for your review. What we will not do is work with someone who is both demeaning and rude; not to just one employee who is trying to help you, but 3. You were already angry because you went to DOL to take your tests and they referred you to a Driver Training school. Had you let our staff answer your questions without continuing to rudely interrupt and use foul language, you would have been scheduled for your test.
Fantastic experience: My daughter took the final drive test with Jeff. She absolutely loved it. She went to an other driving academy and she liked 911 the best. She said the Jeff made the drive super relaxed with a great environment to learn. I would definitely recommend 911 driving school.
I am so glad she had such a positive experience. Thank you for sharing.
Fantastic experience: Thanks for teaching me how to drive and I love the driving teacher that teach just everything we know
You are very welcome Christopher.
Fantastic experience: These folks were absolutely fantastic. And, they had to navigate an unprecedented year of instruction, with the global scamdemic forced upon them and all of us...
Thank you so much for acknowledging all of that. We just had to do our best to put customer service first. Like you say, "On all of us". "Scamdemic" ;)
Fantastic experience: Jeff was my instructor/proctor and he made me feel very comfortable and gave me great tips! Paying for the bundle was a steal of a deal and definitely worth it. Definitely take your drive test here!
That's awesome Venacia. I am so happy this was so successful for you.
Fantastic experience: This place is fabulous! They helped me get my driver's license and took extra time to work with me when I had no one else to teach me how to drive. I think they are all amazing people. I am very thankful for Jeff, he is a fantastic instructor!
Thank you so much Ruth. I'll be sure to forward this to Jeff. He will appreciate it.
Fantastic experience: I took my drivers test here. I'm terrible with names, but the receptionist was very friendly and the instructor was very kind. I had never driven a "modern" car before and I struggled to get a grip as the test started. The instructor was very patient and helpful the whole time. The staff seemed very friendly and casual with each other which really put me at ease. I find hyper professionalism extremely uncomfortable and a huge redflag and they weren't like that at all. My test was during rush hour and I arrived thinking there was no way I was going to pass with that kind of stress, but the instructor put me at ease right away. I highly recommend this place to anyone who's nervous to take their test.
Thank you so much Sasha. Your examiner was Chuck Filippini. GREAT guy.
Fantastic experience: Front desk they are very respectful and nice and very helpful!!
Thank you Victoria. We are very proud of our front desk.
Fantastic experience: great people. i learned a lot of things that have helped me improve my driving can’t wait to take my final test soon.
That's great Jelena. Good luck on the test.
Fantastic experience: My instructor, Steve, was very helpful and friendly during my practice drives and prepared me well for my driving test. Ed also did a good job teaching content in the classroom; I had no issue with the written tests, thanks to him.
Thank you so much Barbery.
Fantastic experience: Great place to take driving tests!
Thank you so much.
Fantastic experience: I had excellent service people were nice helping. After taking the drive porshon and knowledge part. You still have to go to DMV and pay the rest. $86 for your permanent license.
Fantastic. I love to hear this. So happy your experience was pleasant.
Fantastic experience: 1 Daughter took their classes here and was a Great experience for her! B&B was a complete waste of time with my other Daughter. Only went to B&B due to location, mistake!!! Pulled her and put her in 911 as well. B&B was rude in office and in classroom.
I am so glad this was such a positive experience for both her and you.
Fantastic experience: Mel did my daughter's driving test. He is absolutely the best. He was so calm and patient with her, especially being so nervous. He genuinely cared about her and did everything possible to make her feel comfortable. He is truly a one of a kind person with a huge heart. The other instructors are fantastic too. I seriously could not do their job.
Thank you so much for your kind words. We are truly blessed to have Mel on board with us. I am so pleased that everything was a positive experience for you and your daughter.
Negative experience: took my drivers test a while ago, they claimed i didnt look before signaling despite the instructor only looking forward the entire ride. to make a point i made a conscious effort to do exactly what i did the first time and had a younger instructor. This place is here to make money, you will more than likely fail despite doing well and lose money. there is nothing you can do about it. Some of the employees are there to help, some of them are bad at their jobs. Edit: The employees did not help me pass the test at all and judging by other reviews the "owner" is a massive tool. So caution to anyone who has to go here, know you'll deal with people like them
Not actually turning your head to look is, without a doubt, the most common deduction on drive tests. In almost every case where a person fails due to not looking the first time, they end up passing the second time. They do this because, despite your opinion, the first examiner actually did do his job and and let you know exactly how to pass it the second time. Which it sounds like you did. Had you come in with your first test you could of received a complete tutorial on everything you did wrong. Never do people fail to pass for only not looking a couple times. There is always other deductions. Keep in mind this is a "BASIC" skills test. In that you only need to demonstrate the absolute basic skills to drive. Even passing a test doesn't say you are a great driver. But not passing definitely says you are not ready. Also, these are not our requirements. These are state requirements. If you don't like the way the test is set up, it's an issue that needs to be taken up with the state. I am glad we were able to help you pass eventually.
Fantastic experience: All my friends have complained about there other driving school experience but I have none with 911. The instructors are friendly and super helpful plus the front desk staff are always happy to help. 10/10 would recomend
Thank you so much Luke.
Fantastic experience: Taught me very well. Great teachers, and info!
Thank you Savanna. I really appreciate the kind words.
