Fantastic experience: Best decision! The team at Behind the Wheel truly cares about your new driver. They go above and beyond to make sure the new driver is prepared to take on the responsibility of driving. We choose the 2 weekends and 6 hours package. When it was time to get the actual drivers license it was no hassle. Walk in with your documents take the picture and boom all done in 10 mins! The retired police officers care about your driver. Great program!

Fantastic experience: Our son just finished their 30 hour class with 6 hours of driving for his hardship license. The process was super easy and each driving instructor was very interactive with him and very encouraging while he drove. I look forward on bringing our daughter here next year!

Fantastic experience: This is a very useful place they teach you everything you need to know about driving. They also give you first hand driving experience, and the ability to test out. At the end of the course you get a paper that will also help you get a little money off your insurance. Hats off to Brad Tucker for being an amazing person and instructor. He is very kind and an awesome guy. Over all I would say 10/10 i definitely recommend Behind the wheel driving school.

Fantastic experience: We enrolled my 15 year old in the drivers ed course and 6 hour driving lessons. Even though she already had her permit, she found the classes to be informative and helpful. She did her driving lessons with Mr. John Smiley. My daughter enjoyed lessons with him and my personal belief was she was able to learn better with him than with myself. It was money well spent. I would absolutely recommend and would use again.

Fantastic experience: This was the best experience I've ever had driving; The staff and driver instructors were amazing, especially Brad Tucker. He did an amazing teaching me, he worked with me, and had faith in me all the way to the end. This is something I'll never forget; Thank John Collins and Brad Tucker for helping me get my license.

Fantastic experience: I’m so happy we decided to go with Behind The Wheel for my daughter. It still amazes me that they don’t teach these kids in school anymore. Brad Tucker was the best instructor for her! He knew how to teach her and give her the confidence she needed to learn the rules of the road and driving. I wish it was mandatory for everyone around here in Tennnessee…if you know you know… Thank you Brad and BTW for everything you did. It is definitely money well spent and I will be doing it again for my son in another year.

Fantastic experience: Our son was a bit apprehensive to start driving at 15 1/2, but once he started at the academy and passed his written test and received his permit, he did very well with their instructors. 6 months after starting at the academy he passed his driver's test! Thank you to Mr. Smiley and the rest of the staff there for working with our son. It was a very positive experience for both parents and our son. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: We did this for the insurance discount, but after going through it for our teenager we would recommend it to everyone, my husband and I have become better drivers from what has been shared with us, our child is far more comfortable and confident on the road, the entire team is not only knowledgeable but very kind and compassionate towards new drivers, I would give 10 stars if I could.

The instructors are very professional, and patient, making learning to drive an enjoyable and stress-free experience for the entire family. My son got to learn to drive without me making him more nervous. I am now confident he will be a safe driver, thinking about what he is doing and anticipating what the other drivers on the road may be doing. He was even instructed on interstate driving which was something I really wasn't ready to teach him myself! Special thank you to John Smiley for remaining calm and building my son's confidence!!

Fantastic experience: It was with the help of the patience instructions, I managed to get my drivers license! I understand how it’s like to sit in the classroom for 8hrs, 4 days in a row but John Collins made it very engaging and enjoyable with frequent breaks in between. The time passed quick during my course. During my 6hrs drive time, instructor Brad, Josh and John boosted my confidence level to drive, and taught me how to be a better driver. I would highly recommend anyone who is looking for a driving school in Chattanooga!

Fantastic experience: We signed our 15 year old up for driving lessons at Behind the Wheel, and we were very pleased! The class was very informative, and the lessons were exactly what we were looking for. John, Chuck, and Jennifer were very calming for our nervous driver and did a great job explaining driving tips. The various routes were great exposure to the area as well. We loved that she could test out during her last driving lesson too. So happy we did this class!

Negative experience: An employee darted out in front of traffic today and almost caused a wreck so I definitely would not recommend them. It’s important to not cut people off when your name is on the side of the vehicle.

Fantastic experience: Behind the wheel has been so beneficial for our son! He started out as a bit of a nervous driver and with all the help from John he’s now much more confident on the road. We can’t ask for a better experience!

Fantastic experience: My daughter, Olivia, went through their program. She was anxious at the start but they were so patient and good with her. Now she is so much more confident in her driving. I would recommend them to all new drivers or anyone who has anxiety around driving. So worth it.

Fantastic experience: I hadn't driven in 7 years and needed to get my license back. I took the standard course, and John Collins, the instructor did an amazing job. He's an engaging teacher, and made the otherwise dry material really impactful through all his anecdotes. I drove with John Smiley, who really put me at ease while giving me all the useful tips. I passed the exam without an issue thanks to their help! I'd unconditionally recommend BTS to all new and returning drivers!

We chose the 5 days of in person classes (Thanks, Collins) along with 8 hours of expert on the road instruction. My son completed his TN State written and road test with Behind the Wheel Driving Academy - Chattanooga. Now, all we have to do is go to the DMV for his DL on his birthday! I truly appreciate y'all! The peace of mind I will have knowing my son has been taught by the best .... PRICELESS!

Fantastic experience: My oldest went to another driving school, we decided that they weren't up to par at all. We were highly recommended to try behind the wheel. All I can say is wow! What a difference it was for our youngest daughter, and now new driver. From the in class instruction to the driving portion, my daughter loved it. Let's face it, no teen really truly wants to sit in a class during a break, but, honestly John kept it fun and important, and it's been a game changer. You will NOT be disappointed you chose BTW! I can't rate them higher then a 5, but I would if I could! Do not go anywhere else!

Fantastic experience: I was nervous to drive and had put it off for many years. After the classes and instructed driving. My confidence increased to a level that I was comfortable driving. The classes are great and don’t make you feel like you can only sit in silence and take notes. You’re encouraged to participate and ask questions because Behind the Wheel wants you to have all the knowledge necessary to be a great driver. If I could give them a 6th star I would.

Fantastic experience: Great Experience, learned a bunch through the classes and the private lessons. This program is quite expensive but it is definitely worth it. Overall, a great experience and would recommend to teen/ beginner drivers.

She also went through six hours driving with the instructors and today she passed her drivers test! I’ve been very pleased with the whole process. They’ve been professional from first to last, and I plan to use them for all of my student drivers!

They were able to do for my first born what I could not...teach him how to drive with patient instruction and without emotion. John Smiley handled the BTW portion, and he really made my new driver feel at ease and confident. The classroom time and simulator are well worth the time and expense.

I highly recommend this class whether your taking a refresher or court ordered, you will be glad you chose them over the other schools in the area!

Fantastic experience: Absolutely, hands down the BEST training my 15 year old daughter could have received from a driving course. This team of instructors went above and beyond to help insure my daughter passed her driving test! I even learned a few things from my daughter after she took these driving courses! Driving for a new teen can be very scary for everyone, that's why we drove over an hour to Behind The Wheel Driving Academy because they are simply the best! They live up to all the great reviews!

As someone who suffers from anxiety and a little bit of driving phobia he was very calm and made me feel safe when driving. I had never gotten on the interstate or highway before having a lesson and on the third one I was able to get on the interstate with almost little fear. I would strongly recommend coming here and I truly have become a more confident and safer driver with John’s calm and sweet demeanor.
