Fantastic experience: I am so happy, I passed my road test today. FYI…. I had failed 3 times, went to three different driving schools had more than 20 classes yet I failed each time. I gave up on driving but 3 weeks ago after a year of not touching any steering wheel I enrolled at Thumbs up took three classes and I was told I was good for the test, But I insisted on an extra class, took the test today and I passed.. They identified my weakness and worked on it, The instructors are great teachers Don’t think about it, please enroll and thank me later. Thumbs up a big thank you to all your instructors and staff. Please keep up your pattern of teaching and commitment to your students

Fantastic experience: I got my license on the first try! I was introduced to this driving school by my niece, and now I see why she raved about it. This is easily the best small business I’ve interacted with in a long time. They are extremely professional, straightforward, and respectful of both your time and money, they don’t waste or try to scam you. The main mode of communication is through texting, which is super convenient because you have a record of everything. From the start, you can choose the days and times that work best for you. They even send a reminder 24 hours before each lesson, which is a lifesaver for someone with a busy lifestyle like mine. The staff is warm and welcoming; they know you by name and make you feel comfortable. No question is too silly, and they’ll patiently answer the same question until you fully understand. You may have more than one instructor, each with their unique teaching style, but they all focus on the same goal. My first lesson was with Alberto, and I could tell right away that he’s a natural teacher. If you want to learn how to handle the hustle and bustle of New York driving, he’s your guy. Jennifer’s techniques for parallel parking and three-point turns are game-changers. I can still hear Jose in my head guiding me on how much to turn the steering wheel to end up in the correct lane when turning. A big shout out to the lady at the front desk for keeping everything organized and for her exceptional customer service. She definitely keeps things together!

Fantastic experience: Where should I even begin. From registration, the driving lessons and finally getting my license. I took my driving lesson with another school which I paid for more classes but they never taught me the way you guys did. I passed my road test on the second time, the first time with Thumbs up and thanks to this amazing school and the professional drivers they have. Thank you to all the instructors, you guys are the best. Yes I mean it. Jennifer, with her hi five and the confidence she had for me even when I was doubting myself and to all the instructors who insisted that I will pass when all hope was lost. Albert and Jose are perhaps two of the kindest, greatest driving coaches in the world. They never made me feel stressed. When they sit next to you , you feel safe, secure and supported. Fantastic experience: My mom Valbona took classes with their amazing drivers. We went there 5 minutes before our scheduled time. All our classes started on time, the instructors were professional, respectful and they gave us feedback at the end. My mom doesn’t speak very well english, but that wasn’t a problem at all for them. All of them were so helpful and willing to go out of their way translating and explaining to my mom in a way she could understand. She took the road test right after her classes and she passed FIRST TRY I recommend Thumbs Up Driving School to everyone!!!!!

Fantastic experience: Very grateful I chose this school. The front desk was so helpful with class and road test appointments. They also responded very quickly to changes in the schedule. The instructors were great, in particular Nico for teaching me the basics, Alberto for taking it above and beyond to make sure the road test was as easy as possible, and Jose for driving me to the road test and giving me tips. Fantastic experience: I was never fond of driving but I just wanted to get this out of the way and have a license for emergency. I’m glad I found thumbs up near my home and once I enrolled - the staff, instructor and even the owners were amazing. Friendly and thoughtful. Alberto was strict but really showed me how to drive without any judgement. If you are thinking to give it a try, do not hesitate and go for them because they really do care. Fantastic experience: When I first started searching for driving schools, I searched up “Best driving schools in The Bronx” on Google & The first school that appeared was this one. Google didn’t lie. The first time I walked into the school, I was greeted by the employees at the front desk. After a brief conversation I decided to purchase a lesson package. I have never driven a vehicle before so it took me a while to figure things out. However, the driving instructors at this location are aware of the growing pains that new drivers typically face & they’ll be patient with you. I’ve had lessons with all of the instructors & they are all great. I don’t want to mention names because everyone deserves their flowers & I don’t want to leave anyone out. Yesterday I passed my road test on my first try & I still can’t believe it. Thumbs Up Driving School gets a “Thumbs Up” & five stars from me.

Fantastic experience: as someone who was absolutely terrified of driving due to bad anxiety, i can confidently say i can finally drive (good and safely)! i bought the 5 class package with an additional separate class and a mock exam the day before my exam, these people seriously teach you everything you need to know with such patience and kindness and they teach you well!! parking was great with the way they teach you! and the reassurance they give that you’ll do great is amazing. shoutout to jennifer for teaching me the basics, jose for teaching me how to park and 3 point turn (and in my first language which made me feel more comfortable!), and biggest shoutout to alberto for combing everything so well! i would definitely reccomend alberto as he made me feel more collected when driving as i was nervous with our convos! this driving school is truly amazing and i really thank you guys so much for my new license! i passed today 5/17/24 :) will never forget you guys!

I went and did my driving test yesterday and passed with only one mark down the second time around. The first time I did the test I failed because I lacked confidence. The instructors all teach the same thing just in a different way. Albert is very direct but that is needed especially when driving in New York City. Jennifer is very kind and reassuring. Fantastic experience: I honestly thought these reviews were fake it seemed too good to be true but I tried it out and my experience was amazing ! Albert & Jeffery were super helpful & encouraging with when I first started my lessons up until my test date I learned everything pretty quickly and they helped to actually explain the steps of everything & how to achieve them even when I wasn't too sure about something . Also to add Yari took me to my road test & she was great she didn't make it awkward with being in the car for a little while waiting my turn for the test , she made me feel comfortable & I ended up not being nervous . Ending up passing with just a few points but thats okay ! 10/10 experience. I will be back for my defensive driving & maybe even for highway lessons . Don't even bother going anywhere else if you're looking to pass your test , THIS IS THE PLACE .

Positive experience: This driving school is owned by a very friendly and kind hearted family. They are very nice and helpful. But the reason why I am giving them 3 stars is because I felt like the lessons were a bit rushed through. I did the 5 course lesson. While my instructor was very kind, I felt as if he wasn’t being thorough and attentive enough. It was as if he was just letting me drive, go with the flow of things, and not really reminding me to do the small simple things that actually really matter, like looking over my shoulders more or simply just making sure I am looking across all windows/mirrors while I park etc... There were times where he would be scrolling on his phone or picking up a call. I feel as if the lessons should of been way more thoroughly explained and better well prepared for when the driver is taking the exam. I also wish he had taught me how to park during the day. He taught me how to park at night and honestly he didn’t really tell me any tips and tricks on how to make sure I wasn’t too close or far away from the curb. It was already bad enough I couldn’t really see what I was doing that much as it was very dark outside (and I wear glasses lol). I am grateful for Jeffrey though who got to teach me a bit more how to park the morning of my drivers test, as I had my last 45min lesson right before my exam. I honestly wish Jeffrey would of been my instructor from the beginning. Sadly, I did fail my drivers test today. I do appreciate how flexible they are with their hours and availability, but I will keep searching for another school and will definitely be retaking the exam soon! Nevertheless, thank you!

Fantastic experience: I can’t thank this school enough. I’ve been contemplating for a while about getting my license and considering that I live in New York I didn’t think I’ll ever do it.When I tell you they held my hand every step of the way through it all from the big things to the little ones. I've always felt comfortable with every instructor I had; they teach you with professionalism but also with love because they love what they do. I'm so happy I've taken the time to learn at this school because it is the best. I was always excited to go to my lessons, and now that I’ve passed my road test, I will miss the thumbs-up family, but I will come back for the highway class!!! If you want to find a driving school, I highly recommend Thumbs-up Driving School; this is the best in the area!!!!!

As someone who has spent hundreds on lessons from two previous driving schools, I can assure you there is no better driving school in New York and definitely in the Bronx. The instructors guide you based off your struggles, they keep track of your progress, and treat every lesson seriously while making sure you are understanding. I’m happy to say that I passed and I would not be able to with out their help.
