Fantastic experience: I NEVER write reviews, but Amethyst deserves the praise. I kept putting off getting my license due to nerves and having ZERO driving experience. I decided to do the package of 10 lessons with my instructor Boris (Big thanks to Alona at the front desk for always being super kind and being on top of scheduling my lessons and sending me reminders!). Boris is an AMAZING instructor who knew I was nervous, but helped me tremendously. He's firm but kind and funny -- he genuinely wants you to succeed and get your license! I failed my road test the 1st time due to me being SO nervous and having a really mean examiner. Boris and the Amethyst team encouraged me to try again and after 2 more quick lessons with Boris, I passed my road test yesterday with flying colors! I'm so happy and grateful for all the help and encouragement I received from this driving school. They're genuinely the BEST!

Fantastic experience: With 20 years of driving experience, I thought I could do the NYC test with no practice. I was wrong! Amethyst came to the rescue. Boris and Lenny were able to prep me in a few lessons arranged around my work schedule picking me up from my home. They provided the car for the test and I passed with flying colors. Highly recommend.

Negative experience: I went to this driving school a while back and I didn't really enjoy it that much. I switched instructors mid way through. I enjoyed Alex very much but besides him I didn't enjoy this place. I failed my driving test the first time. The second time, my mom was teaching me how to parallel park 10 minutes before the exam and I learned better from her than from this school.

I decided to stick with it and was doing driving lessons with Alex, let me tell you he is the best, I could not have done it without him. Super professional, patient , He takes his time to teach you. Driving instructors are great professionals, especially for those who have driving experience in other countries. Because you definitely need to relearn, otherwise there will be a lot of retakes of the road test. This driving school is for everyone who saves their time.

Fantastic experience: Few important things you need to know 1. Mr Boris on the weekday (super sweet, gives simple, concise explanations and techniques, does not over complicate anything ) 2. Mr Leni on the weekend (confidence on the road, challenges you, teaches you for the test and after the test, very clear instructions) 3. Ms Anastasia only if you’re lucky enough(she’s super booked! ) to constructively critic your skills. Fantastic instructors in general!!!! For your road test, if nervous like me,please go with Mr Boris, he goes the extra mile, even gave me a star stress ball to calm me down. He boosted my confidence so much. The office staff!!!!!!! what a pleasure dealing with them, they are flexible and will try their best to make you satisfied. I made enquiries with many schools, they are the only ones that were flexible enough to work with me. I didn’t even have to go to the office at all, everything was so seamlessly done. I can’t believe it, a beginner and passed on the first try. You won’t regret it!

Fantastic experience: OMG! I could not recommend this place more! I had come from a previous driving school where I had already failed the test twice, but after 4 lessons with Anastasia I passed! She is the sweetest instructor and takes the time to really get to know her students and what makes them nervous about driving. Fantastic experience: I decided to go to this driving school because of my friend recommendation and I was very happy with my experience! I didn’t have any driving experience before, so I took 10 classes package, and I can say that Anastasia explained everything to me very well! Positive experience: Great News! I passed, after merely clocked-in 10.5 hrs of driving lessons. Having zero prior behind-the-wheel experience, I am very pleased to pass the road test in my first attempt. My instructor, Boris was great! He made me feel relaxed, taking my time to get used to the roads, not rushing, and being mindful of the details that would be essential to pass the road test. Maria was super diligent, she always calls the day before the lessons, double-checking my availability and make arrangements accordingly. The only bad experience I had was when one of the lesson I switched schedule, and I agreed to take lesson with another instructor, who turned out to be a completely different style, and I did not like it. I complained and got a lesson back with Boris. Overall, it's a good school, I would recommend taking the 60 mins and even the 90 mins lessons towards the end that helped me to get into different roads and situations.

Fantastic experience: After the first place I called never called, e-mailed or otherwise contacted me after well over a month and one follow up, I found Amethyst Driving School online, signed up for the information, and proceeded to go about my day. I was contacted within less than three hours, and everything was explained to me clearly and concisely. The instructor was professional, calm, and knowledgeable, and I could not be more pleased.

Fantastic experience: My friend recommended this driving school to me, and I am so happy to have their support and guidance. Maria- I love hearing from Maria. She has a sweet, funny personality. Always organized and kept me up to date on my lessons via phone and text. David was my driving instructor! Very knowledgeable and is like the friendly neighbor. He helped me feel comfortable on the road, and even came early each lesson to make up for the first lesson I missed. What I learned most from him was parking, 3 point turns, and the mentality that you drive the car. Anastasia is wonderful. She taught me the last 2 days before my road test. She was very hands on and truly helped me understand the mistakes I’ve been making when I do turns, steering control, and seeing the whole picture in driving. If you need driving lessons, feel confident that you’ll ace your road test with this driving school. I took the road test a few times years ago (didn’t pass). My mom took lessons at Amethyst 8 years ago, and when it was my turn to learn how to drive I knew I would stick with them. I took lessons with Alex and Anastasia; they are both very professional, and I highly recommend taking lessons with either of them. I had a package of 10 lessons with Alex, and he is very calm and teaches you how to drive without being nervous. I also took two lessons with Anastasia, and she really helped me refine my technique before the road test. The receptionist, Maria, is one of the most friendly and flexible people you will meet! Fantastic experience: After failing my road test about 3 or 4 times with other driving schools, I decided to give Amethyst Driving School a chance. I had a couple of lessons with Amethyst Driving School over a 2 month period, and today I passed my road test!!!! I am so thrilled that I found Amethyst Driving School. My instructor was Alex and he was wonderful, patient, professional, calm, and a brilliant teacher. I felt confident going into today's road test knowing that he had given me all the necessary tools to be a safe and competent driver. Fantastic experience: Anastasia is amazing! She was very patient with me and made sure I learned everything I needed to know! She had me well prepared for my driving test and thanks to her I passed!

Negative experience: I was very disappointed with my experience and am really surprised by the high rating. The instructor Alex in a white Mazda is one of the owners and multiple times he‘d tell me to drive and we would end up by his house where he’d go use the bathroom…during my lesson. There was no structure and barely ever gave me feedback. Asking him questions was hard, as he’d give short answers and make me feel like each question is stupid. For example I asked him if I have to use a turn signal when parallel parking and he acted as if I asked him if the sky is blue. He was rude and acted annoyed that he was even there. It was as bad as it could get. I gave 2 stars because 1 of the lessons was an hour and I paid for 45 minutes so it was nice for them to do, though considering his bathroom breaks, it was probably all that time back. The secretary Maria kept getting my name wrong and it was weird. There are better schools out there.

Fantastic experience: Best driving school in Brooklyn! I took 11 lessons as a beginner driver with no previous experience. My instructor Alex was an incredible teacher. Alex was very kind, understanding, excellent at explaining what I was doing correctly and how I can improve. I was extremely comfortable with Alex and learned so much from him. I have become very confident driving on the road. I passed my road test yesterday on the first try thanks to Alex! I plan on taking highway driving here soon as well. Thank you again to Alex and Amethyst driving school! Everyone should go here for lessons!

Fantastic experience: I signed up for 10 lessons here and got Dave F. as a teacher -- he was extremely helpful, friendly, and a great teacher. I somehow went from never driving once in my life to having a driving license within less than a month! I also took the mandatory 5 hour course you need to take to get a license - I took it over Zoom and I forget the instructor's name but she was also great. I am now a licensed driver and it's all thanks to this school :) I confidently recommend this business.

Fantastic experience: Amazing driving school!! Maria was amazing at working with my schedule and scheduling driving lessons (not easy to do). She always sends reminders! Super professional and caring. My instructor Stanley was great and helped me though my nervousness in driving. I was able to have one lesson with Alex in a completely different type of car (kinda my choose) and he help me get the hang of driving the car very well right before my driving test! I was able to pass on my first attempt! Very thankful for Amethyst Driving School for helping me over come the nervousness of driving!

Fantastic experience: This is an amazing driving school. Firstly, the front office is phenomenal. Maria sets up the lessons to your convenience and communicates often on how you are feeling and how the lessons are going. She is also very kind and motivating over the phone - and these types of small things make a customer happy. Next, my driving instructor was Alex (Mazda). He is very knowledgeable and competent in what he does. He is also very patient which is extremely important for new students and less experienced students. Within the first lesson, he made me feel confident in my skills and it made me feel like I can do it. He corrected me on some mistakes and ultimately I passed the road test on my first try thanks to him. He makes me feel confident on the road. Thank you Alex! Overall, a splendid driving school! I will most certainly be taking highway lessons.

Fantastic experience: Amethyst Driving school was amazing to work with. I can gladly recommend this business to anyone who is looking to learn how to drive, prepare for a road test, etc. I had the pleasure of communicating with Masha in the office, she was extremely professional in setting up my expedited road test date during Christmas and scheduling a driving lesson. My driving teacher, Pavel was very knowledgeable and professional in all aspects of driving. Thanks to Pavel, I passed my road test the same day as I took my 45 min driving class, scheduled conveniently right before my road test. This was my first driving class in about 2 years and the first road test. I was also able to watch another student driver ( much more experienced than me ) park the car tons of times with me observing him. I think the combination of Pavel's knowledge and being able to observe another more experienced driver, helped me pass the road test with only 20 pts deduction. Negative experience: Wish I could leave a positive review only for David and Maria for their patience and professional attitude but I had the worst experience with Alex who was one of the rudest people I have ever met in my life!. I don’t remember being treated with that horrible attitude ever in my life. Instructors should expect that beginners do mistakes and that is what they should be here for. You can never teach someone anything by being rude, inpatient and just yelling all the time!. That’s the worst style ever. However, I strongly recommend David as an instructor and wish I had my lessons with him but I only met him on my test day.

Fantastic experience: Don't search for any other driving school, you won't find any better. I just passed my road test today and had to leave a review right away. To start, I took 6 lessons with a different driving school, and failed my road test two weeks ago. I decided it might be a good idea to try another school and found Amethyst. I took ONE lesson with Anastasia yesterday, and passed my road test today. She's calm, professional, and just all around awesome. Don't waste your money with any other driving school.

Fantastic experience: If you're reading this you're probably in search of a good driving school. Let me tell you this – don't bother looking anymore, call them. Trust me, I've changed THREE schools and THREE different instructors before I settled with Amethyst. I've seriously thought I had a phobia of driving. Then their web-site says "Psychological Support" and that's no joke people. At one point I shared my anxiety with instructor, he stopped me and gave an impressive speech on how driving was supposed to be fun. That was a game changer. So I had a chance to drive with two instructors from that school. My main instructor was David. This guy is a gem say no more. I also had a few lessons with Pavel and he was awesome two. I feel really lucky to learn from these two professionals. If you guys reading this – Big Thanks! Organization is on top. Office was doing a perfect job scheduling and confirming lessons. Every time I finished talking on the phone with Maria I had a smile on my face. Very positive energy. You may wondering about their pricing. Trust me it's competitive. I did my research. Their packages may seem a bit expensive but keep in mind it's all include pre-licensing class and car for the exam. Most schools sell them separately. This is probably my longest review yet lol. Although my struggle is over and I'm really grateful to Amethyst for helping me out. I know your pain dear prospective student and I hope my review will help you.

Now that ive passed my road test i will miss driving around with him. It was fun. He teaches according to the rules and communicates well. I felt safe and comfortable. I passed my road test in the first attempt. I am extremely content with the staff's service. Maria is lovely and answered all my text messages and questions. Highly recommend this driving school.

They make the process stress-free and couldn't have had a better instructor in David. He was so helpful and nice! Negative experience: I took one driving lesson with the owner last summer. I couldn't think of anyone more suited NOT to be in this business. She was not patient, she shouted at me quite frequently. We got into an argument half way into my lesson where I told her I was done, and I drove myself home. She was a nightmare.

Fantastic experience: This is the best driving school. They were so accommodating with my work schedule & they booked everything for me, including the road test. I got to use the car I learned in on the test which was perfect. Alex is truly the best instructor. He is so patient & so good at teaching you how to drive as well as the rules of the road. Fantastic experience: The 5 hour class was very entertaining for something that can be boring. Very friendly atmosphere. & my instructor Stanley was the best! Me & my sister passed on our first try! Fantastic experience: I have asked around the driving schools near my house and amongst 5 amythest is the only one that has everything properly in place. They have nice office and dedicated personnel doing excellent jobs. Special mention to Maria and Stanley who made it easier y for me in my driving class journey. Maria was so easy to talk with and would go extra mile to meet your needs especially in choosing the schedules that would work for you. And Stanley is a great teacher who has straightforward and very simple tactics in the way he teaches. He has 1-2-3 way of teaching that’s easy to remember and practice. They’re simply the best. Everything with Amythest is remarkable! When I passed my road test the first time I can feel that Maria and Stanley were genuinely happy for me.

Fantastic experience: Anastasia started as my instructor at Left turn driving school. She was so amazing that I gladly followed her when she left to start her own business at Amethyst. I passed the road test with her at the Seaview road test site about 7 years ago. She is very professional, knowledgeable and sweet. Now my son is all grown up and just got his permit. I told him that I would reach out to Anastasia to give him professional lessons but he's a hardheaded kid who already knows how to drive but some of his maneuvers will make him fail the road test automatically. One hand driving, fast turns, forgetting to signal and the list goes on and on... Anastasia I might be in touch soon!

Fantastic experience: Excellent driving school, with excellent instructors and administrative staff. I took the 3 lesson package as someone with some previous driving experience who needed to pass the road test. Stanley was a wonderful instructor, and prepared me very well for the road test, which I was able to pass on my first try. Maria was always on top of everything, and kept me informed of everything I needed to know for my lessons and road tests. Fantastic experience: I highly recommend this school. The instructor I had was David. David is a fantastic instructor. He was very helpful on helping me pass my driving exam on my first try. He focused on what I needed to work on. David provided superb guidance and moral support. I highly recommend him as an instructor. He always arrived on time or early and I felt I was able to improve my techniques quite a lot. David is the type of instructor that a 45 minute lesson provides the same value as a ten hour one. David is a great guy and I couldn't recommend him enough.

Fantastic experience: Great driving school. I was debating between this school another one, and it was an easy pick after contacting the office and talking to Maria. She is so nice and helpful, called me a day before every lesson to remind me and confirm the lesson, and went out of her way to help with scheduling. I took the 5 hour course, which was over zoom, very informative and easy. Anastasia is engaging and funny so time passed by very quickly. I took the driving lessons with Alex, he is a great instructor, very professional and knows what he's doing. I enjoyed the lessons, he teaches exactly what you need to know to pass the test. Had my road test today and passed the first try (although I did have a license many years ago, just needed a few lessons to refresh my memory). Overall, good school, good people, I highly recommend this place.

My husband was in a difficult situation because he only had a few days to get his drivers license and Amethyst Driving School was able to facilitate us very rapidly. First the 5-hour course. Then, ensured the certificate only 2 days later AND scheduled a rushed drive test as well. Everything transpired in 5 days (over the weekend)! Fantastic experience: My mom and I both had just passed our road tests this morning, on our first attempts. This was best present we could ask for, just in time for the New Year. We both have had our permits for years and could not get around to taking the road test. 2020 was the year we were both determined to get our driver's licenses. And then the pandemic started, leaving us very little time to learn how to drive from scratch and to pass our road tests. Since neither of us had any previous driving experience, we each took a package with twenty lessons. We are extremely pleased with the services from the entire Amethyst Team. Big thanks to Maria for being very helpful with scheduling our classes and the road tests. It was a pleasure speaking to her always; she is very friendly, very energetic and very supportive. Fantastic experience: I just passed my road test This school have all conditions for you. I started driving from zero so I took 10 lessons and it’s enough now feel very comfortable on a road. My teacher David really professional, highly recommend exactly him! Maria is very very nice and very very helpful and responsible! Grateful to them both!

Fantastic experience: I just got my driver’s license. Maria at Amethyst Driving school was always helpful since my first call asking questions about their services. Their response were quick and clear. They guided me on the entire process and communication was always very effective. As a person who knew how to drive, I decided to go with a package (3 lessons, 5hr class, appointment and car for the road test) 5 hour lesson was made via Zoom with Anastasia. You need to keep your camera on at all times as part of the requisite to complete the 5 hour class. David, my instructor, was very helpful. He gave clear direction and great feedback on every lesson. He provided me with all the tools I need to be confident (and most importantly, relaxed) for the road test. You can’t go wrong if you decide to go with this driving school.

Fantastic experience: This driving school is amazing. I had to take the road test in less than 2 weeks and Maria was really nice, they were totally booked but she did her best , so I’ll be able to get a few lessons before my road test. I took 2 lessons. They are very professional, they always call to remind you of your appointments. Anastasia is amazing. I took a lesson with her before my road test and she did an amazing job. She corrected all of my mistakes and made sure I would understand what I did wrong. I would definitely recommend taking lessons with her. She is a great teacher and very good at explaining things, she’s also very calm and try her best to make you feel comfortable. I usually have a lot of anxiety and she did her best to calm me down. I passed my road test on my first try ! They’re amazing and reliable . Thanks again !!

Fantastic experience: I passed on my first try! Thank God. Both Anastasia and Mariyah were absolutely charming and professional. I booked a 3 lesson package with everything included. Test. Car. 5hr license course and lessons of course. After reading other reviews I chose Roman to be my instructor and he did not disappoint. He was very informative and honest. He was always on time and never made me feel rushed. Each lesson I walked away feeling more confident. Definitely recommend! Oh, I also booked an extra lesson (just to be prepared ) and had instructor paul, he was also cool. Safe driving everyone!

Fantastic experience: I remember my first day of the driving lesson, I was so afraid I was shaking. As I took more lessons, I felt more comfortable. Roman played a huge role in making me comfortable and teaching me all the skills to be on the road. You can see he truly cares about his students and makes sure they get everything right to pass the road test. He is brutally honest with you and doesn’t sugar coat things which I loved because I was able to correct those mistakes. I don't know if I would be able to pass the road test without his guidance. Definitely recommend this school but make sure to ask for Roman!
