Fantastic experience: All the instructors were very helpful. Greg was my instructor on the road and did an amazing job explaining how to take turns. Markus was very helpful when it came to explaining all the skills. And I think his name was Tommy he was very helpful explaining the pretrip. Overall my experience here was very good. The instructors are very knowledgeable and have enough patience to guide everyone.

Negative experience: The owner is extremely arrogant! She knows she's evil! She can't even apologize! She refuses to fix her own screw ups even if you're the top of the class! Top of the class yet tests last!?! Holidays now screwed up not to mention all the kids go without more so than already planned. She is heartless! I would give 0 stars if I could but it won't let me.

Fantastic experience: The staff and instructors here are very professional and give you all the tools you needs to start your new career . If you’re looking for a school that goes above and beyond for you ASD is where you need to be. My time there was short but in the end I did get my CDL because of the instructors.

Fantastic experience: Howdy guys! This review is a little after the fact, but 3 years ago in January 2020 I graduated from ASD. I had to have been one of the most hopeless seeming students at learning backing they ever had. But they were super patient and extremely helpful and I passed my CDLA test on the first try. And now in April 2023 I just passed all my tests (including backing) on the first try to become a truck driver for Wal-Mart. If you are thinking about being a truck driver you should know that's one of the top 5 or so jobs in the industry (maybe the very best!) and they're very hard to get. So a long overdue thank you to Eric, Juan, Raul, Tiffany, both Gregs, John, Yolanda and several other people there who I apologize for forgetting your names but I remember your faces and you were great! To new people looking for a truck driving school or thinking of becoming a professional driver, I could not recommend this place more highly!

Fantastic experience: Such a amazing experience with ASD! Tiffany the director runs a amazing program and the instructors are perfect. Juan, Tommy, Albert, AL, Dan, Gregg and all the other instructors are super cool very knowledgeable and will help every step of the way. Be ready to learn a lot and ask plenty of questions and you have the support you need to obtain your Class A when you complete this program. Fantastic experience: I went to school in 1994 and because of the instructors, it has or hires, to make the best drivers there is, out in the road. I'm a living proof, I have the cleanest driving record and is all because of advance. The knowledge they pass on to you is like no other.

It was quite of a journey, At first I wanted to quit, but my mom never raised a quitter. So I kept moving forward I learn so much in 4 weeks they got me ready from beginning to the end. Fantastic experience: This school is truly an ADVANCED SCHOOL of DRIVING!!!!!!!! It just doesn’t get any better than this! The instruction is EASILY understandable, patient & concise, w/a common sense approach! The driving skills they teach is a seriously focused endeavor to get you skilled and down the road! The most surprising part is they actually care! Which is something you just don’t find these days! This training team just flat out rocks! From the head supervisor all the way down to the instructors! It’s kind of like watching a spec ops team destroy a compound of stupidity! Very thorough very efficient!

Fantastic experience: ASD is an excellent school to attend to if your trying to get your CDL class A license. My experience there will be something that I will never forget. The instructors are amazing and they took there time in teaching me everything I needed to know and not just to pass at the DMV but to take the knowledge with me on the road. Negative experience: Head instructor Juan was racist towards white people like myself. Treated very unfairly for no reason except the way I look. Left school to get hired at a higher rate than CRST’s $.22 a mile vs $60 an hour Union. CRST’s dorms are clean but the free food isn’t sufficient for a grown male. Grilled cheese sandwich and coffee for breakfast ?

Fantastic experience: First I would like to say off the back this school is a great one I came from LA from a different trucking school and this one has been the best showed me so much in 3 weeks and I can’t say how thankful I’m all the instructors are awsome and helpful and funny to they are my top favorite school for trucking class A

Positive experience: The school is fast paced. The only negative was the bathrooms. But the instructors were Awesome!! Tommy is like the stepfather that stays with a cig in his mouth all day and you don’t want to like him but he will treat you better than your real father and teach you so much!! Mr. John was the coolest for me and I definitely enjoyed training with Number Juan and Raul. This is definitely the school you would want to go to if you want to be a truck driver.

All the instructors love what they do you can tell they WANT TO BE THERE AND LOVE WHAT THEY DO!!!! ❤️ Such an amazing environment if I could I would start all over and do it again that’s how much I loved this school.

Fantastic experience: The DMV examiner was incredibly impressed with my performance on the field test which should say a lot about this school. I was enrolled for two months as a cash student and it was worth every cent. I suggest leaving a deposit a few weeks before the following class starts so you can get the study guide for the permit tests, and then take the permit tests a few days before the class begins. This way you will get ahead because you're expected to have your permit within the first week of starting school. Once school starts you will get a 13 page packet with everything you need to know to pass the DMV field test. The packet contains all the information you need to know to pass the air brake test, in cab inspection, and pre trip inspection. Every day you will switch between practicing a driving skill for the test or practicing something in the packet. The instructors teach you all the possible backing maneuvers possible that the DMV examiner can throw at you, and the instructors teach you very good ways of making sure your offset and parallel parking come out perfectly. After a month, everything should be practice and ASD will have already found you a DMV date based on your needs. The best part about this school is that the groups are very small so you will have plenty of time with an instructor and behind the wheel. The instructors are very patient and understanding so you won't have an issue with them getting frustrated at your mistakes. They even have state licensed DMV examiners on site that are also instructors. When I was taking the field test at the DMV, ASD's truck definitely stood out among the other schools. It had the newest, cleanest, and most well maintained truck there. I also saw a lot of people from other school struggling to do their maneuvers but I was able to do mine without any issues because we practiced them so much at the school. In the end, you definitely get what you pay for and you're paying for one of the best truck driving schools in Southern California. You even get a certificate of completion when you pass the DMV field test. Thank you again to everyone who helped me be over-prepared for the DMV test!

Fantastic experience: All staff members are well informed and kind to everyone that comes to collect some information on the school. Their multiple Schedule options made it helpful to stay employed and practice the skills necessary for the dmv tests. The instructors were patient with teaching us the skills and gave each of us plenty of training to practice and feel confident in our ability to control a tractor and trailer when it comes to performing the job at hand. Was an overall great experience getting taught to perform the skills needed for new job opportunities.

Fantastic experience: ASD is a great school to obtain your CDL. All the personnel from reception, to management and instructors they are all great people to deal with and very knowledgeable. Thanks to all the instructors in providing the study info. Tommy, Matt, J-Rod, Eric, Chris they are very patient and detailed with Air Breaks, InCab and pre-trip as well as the skills training, gave plenty of tips and help that was good to know on for DMV drive test. Lastly thanks to Juan for providing a referral for employment for local driving and Tiffany for providing great support throughout and sufficient time behind the wheel training.

Fantastic experience: At first it was hard to believe how many good reviews they have but believe they are with every dollar. They are a great school. They have really good instructors. They make sure all your questions are answer. Tommy, Matt, J-Rod, Eric, and Chris are really knowledgeable and give you good tips and answer any question you have. They are patient with you and work with you to get your skills down. As a cash student they made sure I was prepared for my DMV test. If you are struggling and need more driving time before your test Tiffany is great working with you to make sure you have get more practice time. Great school to get your CDL.

Fantastic experience: Best bang for your buck, instructors are always around and willing to help and answer any questions. You get a good amount of seat time and actual driving time. Tiffany the manager is great to communicate with and is very understanding. I am part of the 97% that passes on the first time. Fantastic experience: I went to Advance school of Driving through CRST and my first day their i thought for sure i was in the wrong place. You go in feeling like they don't do much except throw a bunch of papers at you and hope that you pass it. I was all wrong and am glad i stuck it out. This school has been a life saver for me and i owe a great deal of this to all the staff who worked hard and was there for the support i needed to get through this two week course. All the instructors their are great guys and you will have fun while you are learning. I highly recommend this school.

The instructors are very patient and can tell you right away where you need improvement when you’re behind the wheel. Fantastic experience: Just today I went to the DMV and passed My Class "A" License Driving Exam. On my First Try, And I thank Advance School of Driving and their instructors Chris , Matt, and Greg ( to name a few ) for helping me accomplish this feat. Their technic works and i highly recommend this school for your Class "A" School. The Instructor Raul, also made the difference he is a Teacher at heart and makes your success his priority. The staff is also very friendly and helpful, eager to answer all and any questions, The facility is well maintained , the training area is very large and their Tractors are Current and well maintained. All of the instructors are helpful and will take the time out their day to help you. Class sizes were small which in turn I received a lot of 1 on 1 training. Passed my CDL test at the DMV on the first attempt. Couldn’t be happier with my decision making to join. So if you aren’t sure on which school. I’d recommend this one!

Once the instructors get involved, you'll see that they know what they are doing and the way they teach will have you prepared for your test day and new career. Raul, is the best ! Fantastic experience: If you are looking to get your Class A. This is the school. Loved the instructors. The extra assistance I needed in my skills alley dock parking. I recommend this school to any of my friends.

Positive experience: The school can be much better if they only stick with simple state and federal guidelines. Instead they feel it's they're right to edit what should and what shouldn't be taught to students. Most importantly is things like the famous Air brake tests most commonly known to consist of 7 different tests but they only teach 3. This maybe a problem when someone gets pulled over and asked to preform said Air brake test and all you know is the 3 out of 7 and the officer takes your license because you're education failed you. This being a facility that accepts state and federal funds they should be checked but I don't believe they are based on what I have seen so far. This small difference doesn't seem at first like a big issue but it can cost you, you're license and job not to mention the time invested in getting it in the first place. Why is it so hard for companies to do things correctly, I don't see why it possibly can be allowed to be done incorrectly by so called licensed state examiner's. It would stand to reason that they could lose their license to give students drive tests if they are not doing it to the same standards that the state requires, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Just be aware if you attend this school that you'll need the DMV commercial handbook to be sure of what the rules and regulations truly are. Beyond that they're decent, they are on the small side so you'll definitely learn how to deal with less real estate to move the truck were you need to.

Fantastic experience: I received my CDL A through ASD back in 2016 and the whole process was great including the instructors. I’m leaving this review now because I am being asked by trucking companies for my certification of competition of a certified trucking school and have misplaced that certificate over the years. I was able to call and talk with Sylvia and she has been super helpful in providing that information and is able to send me my original certificate. Thank you ASD for being professional and would recommend to others in need of a Class A school.

Fantastic experience: This school is incredible. My father graduated from this school many years ago and needed a quick study guide and Sylvia help us out. I was very impressed that even after you graduate the school is still there to help you out with whatever you need.

Fantastic experience: I did a lot of research before choosing a school. I went with ASD and I have no regrets. Good people and excellent training. The first two weeks dragged but once you get passed the air break and pre-trip training you go behind the wheel for the third and fourth week. Passed on my first try at the DMV. Excellent school!!!

Fantastic experience: I attended the school for a three week course at the request of my employer. Let me say the instructors are incredibly knowledgeable and are able to clearly explain to students first hand any areas of the material or skills they might be lacking in or have questions about. The instructors are determined to help students to pass the class A driving test. Everyone is friendly and professional. Would recommend to anyone that needs to get a class A. (Of course, I passed I went to ASD).

Fantastic experience: I had a great time with my experience at ASD. All the instructors were very patient and knowledgeable. They know what it takes to get you to pass the dmv test and will make sure you are ready when the time comes.

Fantastic experience: I attended Advance School of Driving back in February of 1994 when they were located in Walnut, CA. I found it to be a great school that taught me everything that I needed to get started in the Trucking Industry. I had a fantastic instructor named Steve Elliot. Great guy who gave me one on one instruction. I’ve been driving for almost 26 years now and am an owner-operator. I would highly recommend ASD for anyone considering to become a CDL Driver.

Fantastic experience: The school is amazing. I picked advance school of driving because my dad came here years ago To get his cdl. I have nothing but good things to say about the training and the staff. If you come with the right mentality and willingness to learn, the staff will go above and beyond to help you and make sure you get the job done when you test at the dmv. I’m super grateful for the experience and I recommend this school to anyone that is interested in getting their cdl. Also these guys train manual and automatic transmissions. Thanks again ASD!!!

Fantastic experience: I came from Amazon career choice. I was asking my associates to what school was the best to go to. Most of them said ASD truck driving school. Now that I passed these guys really do help you get your Commercial license. If you feel you need extra help, just ask there down to earth people.

Fantastic experience: Very good school this training program is right on point the instructors are very knowledgeable they help you get through your struggle of learning everything because it’s hard and a lot to take in in a short period of time but ASD makes it happen thanks to the instructors and staff I got my class A license

Fantastic experience: I can’t thank these guys enough for helping me get my CDL. The staff was friendly but stern especially Tiffany. I went in through the GI Bill so I didn’t really have to pay out of pocket for anything. Only complaint I would have is that the first few week’s, especially for the cash students, time seems to drag on because you go over the same material over and over again. Sometimes you’d have to do this on your own since there weren’t enough instructors but after you get to start driving everything flies by. Overall it’s a great school and I highly recommend it for vets!

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend this school to anyone looking for and needing assistance with acquiring a commercial drivers' licence. The school made the transition into driving smooth. From obtaining the permit, to the pre-tripping of the truck, and the behind the wheel practice. I even learned so much from the experienced drivers that were around. Fantastic experience: I’m officially a professional driver thanks to ASD! The instructors provide an excellent experience. Andrew, Jarrod, and Eric set the bar high to teach me the skills to be a safe and knowledgeable driver.

Fantastic experience: First off, I need to mention that the instructors I had (Andrew, Jared and Eric) were awesome. They took the time to go over things you needed to know to drive a semi and did it in a way that boosted your confidence. From preparing me to get the permit to going over the steps needed to be ready for your DMV exam, they were thorough, understanding and professional. The entire experience was pleasant and now looking forward to hitting the road. I highly recommend ASD if you are looking to get your Class A license.

Fantastic experience: This School is a great school to attend to. The Staff is very helpful and they will not let you fail. They have creative ways for the students to learn and give you the knowledge you need to know to be able to take the cdl test. I paid out of pocket and it was worth every dollar.
