Fantastic experience: Malika was super helpful in easing my nerves! I hadn’t driven for years, but from her instruction my confidence grew and driving felt less daunting. I didn’t feel like I was rushed and got the chance to practice multiple times with her corrections, so hopefully I’ll be able to pass my road test thanks to her!

Fantastic experience: Malika has helped with my driving tremendously. I feel much more confident and comfortable behind the wheel for a fair price. Other competing driving schools have been much more money to do the behind the wheel course but Hometown’s price was great. I was lucky to have her especially with the tips and extra lessons I was given.

Fantastic experience: This school is phenomenal, and Lubna especially is wonderful!! She is very nice and good at what she does!! Not only is she an amazing teacher, but she goes out of her way to make all parts of the process go as smooth as possible, I got my license on the first try!

Negative experience: Had a totally bad experience with one of the teachers. Today in the morning I was practicing on Edison's 33 Kilmer Rd, my car has the student driver's sign and I guess the teacher doesn't care because touched the horn repeatedly. My teacher (from other school) tried to tell him to see the signs and calm down but he just tell us hurry up! I think that "teacher" from HOMETOWN DRIVING SCHOOL doesn't have the patience or tolerance required to teach appropriately. I'll let some pics here

I had taken one class with another school & they were terrible..So my confidence levels were down and i happened to call Hometown Driving school.and was lucky enough to talk to Mr. Cheema, who was ready to teach me on a short notice ,assured me that their school wanted their students to pass the road test on the first attempt and told me not to be nervous and that they were experienced in teaching even new drivers & since i knew basic driving,i would be fine. He also advised me to postpone my test,so that i could have ample time to practice.In my 1st class with him, he within few minutes told me I was a fine driver,boosted my confidence,made me do U Turns,taught me parallel parking, K Turn & gave me excellent tips on how to properly do parallel parking. In the second class he took me on Route 1,repeatedly pointed out where I was wrong ,how I should correct myself, made me practice parallel parking,K Turn,U turn & and would repeatedly point out where I was going wrong, where I should take care so that I could not only learn how to properly Park and drive but also pass the road test. Even before the test,he made me practice parallel parking couple times,K Turn, reverse ,U turn ,made sure I was ready for the test ,encouraged me not to be nervous and thanks to him I passed my test on the first try. I really want to thank Mr. Cheema for going out of the way to ensure that his student passes and want to applaud the school for having such a wonderful instructor who was calm enough to repeatedly teach and made me practice so that I could be a responsible and confident driver & pass on the first attempt. Kudos to them for having such a kind & passionate instructor as Mr. Cheema who really takes the time out to teach his students how to properly drive and Park and wants to make sure that the student passes the test which is not the case with other driving schools. Best wishes to Mr. Cheema and the whole team at Hometown Driving school and I hope they continue their good work.

Fantastic experience: I had the most wonderful time with Sumera. I can not recommend her enough. I was able to be fit in last minute for a refresher course and road test with her and she was calm and made me the most prepared I could have ever been. I passed my test with no problems!

Fantastic experience: Had a ~2 hour driving session with Cheema before my driving test, taught me everything from using blinkers to parallel parking and k-turns, got me used to going on the highway and turning on/off them. Brought me to the test site, then the DMV to pick up my license then back home. Clear and calm, never made me feel nervous or pressured.

Fantastic experience: I was recommended this school by a friend whose siblings and him received education from Jim and his school. After a badly timed situation that caused me to fail my first exam a long time ago and left me feeling very nervous, Jim recently set me up with the amazing instructor Singh who calmed my nerves and gave me an amazing lesson before my road test at Rahway. Thanks to Singh and his teaching, my nerves disappeared and I was able to pass with flying colors. If you’re looking for a reliable driving school, then give Jim and this excellent driving school a call.

Negative experience: Avoid coming here. Instructor misplaced a permit in his car and then lied and said he had given the permit to us already. Instructor went on vacation, owner searched his car and found the permit lying on three floor. And then sent another instructor to drop it off. When that instructor dropped it off, in the envelope they included a Social Security card that was not ours. Let me reiterate this. A SOCIAL SECURITY CARD. They clearly can not be trusted with important documents, and had I not found the card in the back of the permit folder this girl and her mother AND the driving school would have been in deep heat. Essentially, they are extremely disorganized and I would highly recommend taking your service elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: Had a great experience with Hometown Driving School, the people are very patient and take their time to teach you right. Ahsan helped my son do his 6 hrs and did all the process for us in DMV, I didn’t have to worry about anything. Then Jim helped him and hour of practice before his test and that made him secure and sure of what he was supposed to do. He passed on his 1st try with flying colors. I’m grateful I was referred to this driving school and for the people who helped my son pass in one go. I’ll be definitely coming back with my other kids to this driving school. She taught various methods for parallel parking along with techniques to fix if I hit the curb, fixing the distance etc. I passed the road at the very first attempt, all the credit goes to Sumera. A lovely person who is patient and accommodating.

Fantastic experience: I was recently in a car accident so I have been taking lessons to try to get comfortable with driving again. My instructor Sumera is very kind and patient with me. She makes me feel calm during the drives despite me being very nervous. I highly recommend working with her if you can :)

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience with my first three hour driving lesson with Malika. I thought at first that driving for three hours straight would get tiring and boring, but by the end of my lesson I didn’t even realize that three hours were up. Malika was a great instructor keeping me engaged and laughing throughout the entire lesson. I learned a lot and at first I was a little nervous but she made me feel very comfortable and safe. I was at the wheel the entire lesson and I quickly realized that the best way to master the skill is by doing it yourself and practicing. We practiced various driving skills and went on the highway and by the end of the lesson I felt a lot more confident. I highly recommend having Malika as an instructor.

Fantastic experience: In Road Test While Parallel Parking, I hit the curb. My instructor- Sumera Taught me multiple techniques of Parallel Parking including how to fix it when you hit the curb. So i was able to do that flawlessly in my road test and I passed it very easily. Also , she personally came to give me certification. Many Many THANKS to her. Without her guidance, Its almost impossible for me to appear in Road test. Highly Recommend this Driving school. Very happy with the service they provided. 5 Stars.!!!

She was funny, sweet, and didn’t sugar coat anything. It made me relax and was reassuring to know I had a good teacher who isn’t a bore also haha. She’s given clear instruction. Knows how to throw you in the deep end without the fear of drowning. She’s just fun to be around as well. If you use this school I’d highly recommend you ask for Malika!

Fantastic experience: cheema instructor was a great teacher. he taught me everything there was abt driving taught me the do’s and dont. he picked me up earlier everytime as scheduled and and dropped me back off safely at home. during my six hours he taught me everything snd trusted me and kept me good throught the time when taking my road test he reviewed with me again everything i needed to past the test and i did. overall i think this school is great and everyone should come here for their lessons.

He yelled at him to “stop hitting the curb” like he was doing it on purpose! The instructor made my son so much more nervous on top of what he already was he came home and doesn’t want to drive anymore!! Thanks a lot Hometown!
