Fantastic experience: Just passed my driver’s test and it’s all thanks to my instructor Carlos! He makes people sure that they are comfortable while also teaching them how to be comfortable with driving on the road. His instructions in driving, parking, etc. are very concise and easy to follow. Fantastic experience: Just finished taking the road test and passed with no problem! And that’s mostly thanks to my driving instructor, Carlos, who I took a total of 3 classes with. He’s a super chill guy and taught me everything I needed to know for the test. He teaches excellently, and he’s the type of guy you feel comfortable with even if you do something wrong. Fantastic experience: I took a total of 6 classes with Ideal Driving School: 3 to help me prepare for my permit and 3 more leading up to my driving test, and I passed on my first try! My instructor was Carlos, and I highly recommend him to anyone who wants to feel confident and well-prepared for their driving test. Carlos is incredibly patient and takes the time to explain everything very clearly, which made learning much easier for me. He shows you exactly what to expect on the test, down to the smallest details. One thing I really appreciated was how he didn’t just point out any mistakes I made, but he also helped me understand how to correct them, so I knew what to do if I made similar errors during the test. In addition to preparing me for the test itself, I also had some time to practice on the highway and on the road. I hadn’t practiced much on my own, so this extra experience made me feel more comfortable and ready for all kinds of driving situations. They taught me tricks and specific details that I should focus on, which really aided and helped me during the test. Fantastic experience: I recently passed my driver’s test and I owe it all to Carlos, my instructor. I took four classes and I learned all the necessary skills for the exam and for practical use. I strongly recommend him; he goes over each step with detail and is very kind, patient and attentive. The two hours go by so quickly when you’re learning by him. Negative experience: Instructors for lessons were great. Do not use for taking the test unless you have a backup way home. They take you to the test, but will just leave you there after with no way home. They left our daughter at the Wayne testing center after her test and insist they disclosed this info. They did not, I was there when she signed up for the lessons and test package.

Fantastic experience: I want to Thank Carlos for helping me pass my road test. I did not think that three classes were enough to prepare me for the road test, but Carlos made those doubts disappear after three classes bringing out confidence from me in what I was learning. I needed someone who had a lot of patience since I really was rock bottom in my confidence in driving and Carlos was that, he had patience, knowledge, and kindness and more, all the attributes that make someone an effective instructor. I have my license now thanks to the effectiveness of Carlos' teachings, thank you for your support and patience!!

Fantastic experience: FIVE STARS FOR IDEAL DRIVING SCHOOL. TEN STARS FOR MY INSTRUCTOR CARLOS (if only it would let me)!! If you’re someone like me who overthinks everything - I would immediately ask for Carlos! When initially scheduling my 3 classes + road test - I wasn’t aware who was going to be my Instructor. But thankfully, I got Carlos!! Carlos is so patient and very understanding when you are trying to fight the nerves when learning. He knows how to teach you in such a calming matter that it makes you feel that you’ve known him forever and gain the confidence that you need. Whether it was about how you’re doing while practicing or how to prep you for your road test - Carlos is the Instructor to ask for!!! Always checked in before each class meeting and even 2 days before my Road test (and the day of, which was today and passed). Fantastic experience: Three months ago, I hesitantly made the decision to return to driving after a 10-year hiatus. Having originally learned to drive in the UK two decades ago, my confidence behind the wheel took a major blow after a one-time experience driving a truck across Manhattan when I first relocated to the NY area. I let my UK license expire and never got a license here. Stepping out the house to my first lesson with Ideal, I was a wreck. Enter Carlos. He was calm, patient, friendly, kind, and had a quiet confidence in me that I did not feel in myself which very rapidly set my mind at ease behind the wheel. Expressing that my goal was beyond passing a road test, but to genuinely feel comfortable and confident driving again, Carlos tailored our lessons accordingly. We began driving on local routes, allowing me to gradually rebuild my confidence, and adjust to driving an automatic transmission on the right side of the road. Over the following lessons, we moved on to highway driving, with Carlos expertly coaching me on merging, lane changes, and maintaining proper spacing. Next, parking. Thanks to Carlos’ clear and patient instruction and guidance on positioning and maneuvering, I was parallel parking with confidence within a single lesson. Thanks to Carlos, I not only passed my driving test, but also – critically - regained my sense of confidence and independence on the road. If you are feeling anxious about learning (or relearning) to drive, I cannot recommend Carlos highly enough. He will help you become the safe and confident driver you aspire to be. Fantastic experience: Today I passed my road test!! I took one class with Carlos 5 days before my road test and with that class I gained the confidence to take the test. For me, repetition is the best way for me to learn and Carlos was extremely patient with me throughout and very professional. I was so hesitant to take the road test just because of my nerves but all the information I gained from Carlos really helped . Fantastic experience: I can personally say that what makes this place incredibly reliant and amazing is the instructors. I was incredibly terrified of driving and pushed back on learning for two years until I told myself it’s time I actually learn. My instructors name is Juan and if anyone else were to learn from him feel blessed. Juan made my learning experience incredibly safe and comfortable. I did not feel anxious nor intimidated learning to drive. He did not overwhelm me or make me feel uncomfortable in anyway. He takes learning to drive as a teen for the first time into deep consideration as to how terrifying it may feel. I felt learning to park would be incredibly difficult and thanks to him I feel confident enough to wing it first shot every time. Juan was always understanding if I felt nervous or lost and guided me with patience. You can tell he is the type of instructor that deeply wants to see his students succeed. Thanks to him I feel confident and safe being behind the wheel. I don’t write Google reviews ever, but this one was very much necessary.

Fantastic experience: Took some driving lessons with Carlos made me pass my driving test the first time. Due to Carlos and his ways of teaching I was able to parallel park without any issues etc. He's the best driving instructor there if you’re looking to take some classes here, Carlos, is your guy to go to. Without him I wouldn’t be able to pass my test and I’m glad I was taught my him only.

Fantastic experience: Carlos is the best instructor and if you can get him as your instructor, I highly recommend him. I didn’t have much practice so i was very nervous for my test and i booked only one lesson which was the same week as my driving test so i was very nervous if it would be enough for me to pass, but with that one lesson, carlos made me feel less nervous to drive and taught me how to park perfectly AND I WAS ABLE TO PASS THE TEST ON MY FIRST TRY.

Fantastic experience: Taking driving lessons here with Carlos made me pass my driving test the first time. I wasn't nervous at all and didn't make almost any mistakes due to Carlos and his techniques on how to park, do K-turns, etc. He's the best driving instructor there, and if you want to take lessons here, I highly recommend you take your lessons with him. He's very nice, funny, and helpful, and I felt comfortable driving with him for all my sessions. Even a few lessons in, he knew that I was ready for the test, and this helped me with any potential anxiety on the test day. Fantastic experience: This was not recent but right before my vacation trip, the day of my trip my drivers test was due and I had not practiced at all, it was on a Thursday, and I booked 3 classes for Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. My instructors name was Carlos, he did an amazing job at explaining how to park which is where I lacked. He was patient and would lighten the mood a lot. I would tell myself every single morning that I would fail and he would always tell me to stop saying that and to trust myself that he knows I will pass. My biggest supporter and turns out I passed!!!! Thank you for your support Carlos!

Fantastic experience: I’m taking the pains to put up a review only because of how exceptional Carlos is. What a top-notch instructor! His coaching was singularly impactful in getting me ready for my road test in just 2 classes. The tips and tricks Carlos methodically teaches, his positive attitude and intent to build confidence are exactly what I needed as an adult learner. He was willing to do an extra class over the weekend if required, but I ended up buying some cones and practicing in our drive way - for which Carlos gave me precise written instructions! Thank you so much Carlos! On the day of the test, Ernie picked me up - he has a great attitude and did some effective pep talking. Helped with the revision / practice and all 4 of us he had taken to Lodi today passed the test. Ideal Driving School is less than ideal in terms of customer service and scheduling, and also has its share of terrible instructors (I had an awful experience with one of the other instructors, and asked for a switch after the first class), but folks like Carlos and Ernie make up for it. It goes without saying that this 5 star rating is only for those two instructors, and not the school itself. Bottomline: If you’re signing up for lessons with this school, I’d recommend asking for Carlos if you can.

Fantastic experience: To anyone who wants to buy lessons here, I recommend you to ask for Carlos as your driving instructor. He is an amazing instructor because he is patient, caring, and he explains everything in detail. I was nervous at the beginning because I never drove before but Carlos has made me comfortable on the road. After each lesson with Carlos, I started having more confidence on my driving skills all because of him. I just want to say thanks to Carlos for being such a great instructor.

Fantastic experience: I just recently passed my road test and i want to thank my instructor Carlos. He does an amazing job of finding your weak points and works at them with you till you feel super confident behind the wheel and ready for test day. He goes above and beyond for all his students and is willing to work with your schedule. Negative experience: I’ll start by saying that I paid full for my 3 classes and when I’m having my first class I only get 45 minutes, when it should off been 1 hour and 45 minutes. Instructor tells me I’m late when with the secretary or assistant that’s in the office told him I was late and that but on the paper says there was a specific time for us to start the class. I come to the office to speak about this issue then the lady starts being rude and her name is MARIA which is the old lady there. We set specific dates for my classes and she wants to come and change them like we don’t work and gets all rude and yells like is not her fault but she’s the one making schedules so how come is not her fault. Instructors are good but they have to change that old lady. If I could give 0 stars I would do it.

Fantastic experience: I want to thank the driving instructors.Having a short time to take my road test the staff were able to accommodate me. Each of the driver instructors have their own style of teaching. I recommend Milton or Carlos. Very respectful and very patient with you. My last driving class was with an instructor (an excop) I forgot his name but very good as well. With these three instructors I was able to pass my test. Thank you ideal driving school .

Positive experience: The entire process for getting your license with them can be a bit annoying sometimes they may not make your appointment when they say they will for your road test. But for the instructors I highly recommended you ask for Carlos every other instructor i’ve had barley taught me anything. Carlos is encouraging and you can get along with him really well. If your going to do your 6hrs I recommended you book all of them with Carlos. I recently just passed my road test and if Carlos didn’t teach me what i learned and used for the test Id most likely have to wait another 3-4 months for another try.

Fantastic experience: For a long time I avoided taking driving classes or even practicing because I was so terrified to be on the road but on my first class with Carlos I was driving all around Union City and by my second class I was on the highway. Carlos not only helped me gain confidence on the road but with his instruction I was able to pass my driving test on the first try. I couldn't have asked for a better teacher and I recommend him to anyone who wants to pass their test and become a great driver. Hugo, who gave me a review the day of my test was also a huge help. Fantastic experience: Carlos was a great instructor, taught the parallel parking, K-turn, and reverse driving calmly. I originally took 3 lessons but he took some time off Sunday to let me book another lesson for confidence which shows care for students.

Fantastic experience: I have been afraid of getting behind the wheel for years. Today; Marks class #10 with Carlos ( the best instructor). I chose to have as many classes as possible to practice. My first class, was easy and smooth, but I was anxious. Carlos, knew how to navigate my anxiety within seconds. I am no longer anxious to drive. He is very thorough, patient, and professional. Negative experience: There are a handful of great instructors like Mr.Ramone was hands down the best instructor I’ve had , very patient and understanding. However the people who run the driving school are unprofessional. They take forever to pick up the phone and once they do they don’t even get your name or your reason of call they proceed to put you on hold. The driving instructors don’t get a raise in pay when their prices go up. The owners are stingy with money. It’s a shame. Wont be coming back here

Fantastic experience: I took a total of four lessons with Carlos and it taught me everything I needed to know for the test. Carlos was incredibly kind and always made sure that I was performing maneuvers the proper way until I felt comfortable with them. I took the exam and passed it on the first attempt based on everything I learned with him. I would highly recommend to ask for Carlos if you plan on taking lessons here! =)
